I love Chiyo- and I kind of headcanon her as a Witch of the Woods (Sands???) archetype- a bitter old woman who has sacrificed too much, experienced and committed more atrocities than anyone can imagine, and who knows the truth about what lies in the hearts of men to live among the villages anymore.
In my AU she's got a pretty dark backstory. Back in time when Villages were just getting established, women weren't allowed to be shinobi in the same capacity as men. There was too much warring and death among the clans to risk women, so they were only ever allowed to serve as spies or medics. (Chiyo started off as a medic).
And like any military/fascist dictatorship, serving the state was more important than anything else- so women who were kunoichi were given missions to steal and return with powerful bloodlines. Even before villages, this was a common fear among clans (which is why so many of them have protective measures and inbreed/arrange matches very carefully).
Chiyo was one such woman, who took a X-rated mission in her youth because she was told it would 'serve her nation'. There was a powerful bloodline whose Kekkei Genkai could harden sand to something akin to Steel- something Suna very desperately wanted.
Chiyo succeeded in her mission, but despite the veneer of 'serving your nation', when she returned, she was considered, in her words, "Just another whore."
Then when her son didn't manifest the bloodline- it was worse, but Chiyo was happy because that meant her son was HERS. (This is when she met Enji, and he saved her son's life at great cost- so Chiyo owes him a blood/life debt.)
Then the war came, and they needed women to fight so now serving the nation meant something different, and Chiyo became a full fledged 'shinobi' and turned her healing towards poison and death- especially when she had to fight the Salamander.
Then she sealed Gaara and that was the atrocity straw that broke the camel's back and she dipped out Suna and retired to an oasis. She's still a healer, but adamantly refuses to serve shinobi.
Once again, thank you so much for these asks and all the support for this AU?

Space Jam 2 Headcanons
Focusing on the filming here. [Also did you realise it's 25 minutes in until Bugs first makes an appearance!?]
For the scene when Lebron slams into a painted-on tunnel the real LeBron slammed into a sheet of glass to create the desired effect. A team took a picture of the result and drew him in toon form after that.
When Bugs and Lebron were first acting the barber scene, Bugs did actually put him in a chair and manoeuvre the chair. [Obviously he didn't make it break Lebron's spine though.] He did throw a hot towel on him [it was cold though, Lebron had to act like it was hot.]and he did give him a legitimate trim. [LeBron was thrilled and will go about telling anyone he has had his hair cut by Bugs Bunny.]
The scene were the Tunes Squads picture [in Marvin's spaceship] were malfunctioning was actually ad-libbed. Of course Bugs and Lebron weren't actually in Marvin's spaceship, it was a set, but Marvin generously loaned them the controls of his old spaceship. In hindsight Bugs should have asked what the issue was. It malfunctioned and kept duplicating information. Unplugging it was the only way to stop it. [What you can't see is an off-screen Marvin holding up a sign that says 'Unplug it, you damn rabbit!']. Lebron [who was on the set] also did notice, but when they were animating it the crew decided it was funnier if he was oblivious.
The train scene with the Tunes was filmed in one take. Lebron added in after. The only other thing missing was the orphanage [just in case...].
First of all - the Mad Max scene? I didn't realise Nasty Canasta was there as well as Wile.E + Roadrunner! Also that Segway Wile.E was riding afterwards was totally nicked from the set.
There was a debate about the Austin Powers scene with Elmer and Sylvester. They were going to show Bugs trying to recruit the two. Sylvester would have been only to happy to leave, Elmer would have needed a bit more persuading. It was dropped for time reasons.
Rick and Morty were adlibbed. They had a protective screen above the scene of Marvin's spaceship which they threw Taz onto.
The Matrix scene with Granny and Speedy was cleverly planned. The human actor was a professional stunt man, and Granny really did kick him through a few walls. And of course Speedy really did outrun a speeding bullet. [He had to do it a few times actually cos he kept going SO fast they couldn't film it.]
After the above scene Lebron was scripted to make another disparaging remark about Granny and Speedy, but found himself unable to, so he just ended up saying Hi to them instead. What can he say? It's Granny!
'Sam, shoot the ball!' Perfectly improvised as was the following training montage. Again they used the set of Marvin's ship with Lebron actually on set. So his 'Where did she get the ramp?' [In regards to Granny's epic stunt] was genuine. The only rule was 'Don't touch Lebron.' [Warner Bros 'Trust us - we can't afford the lawsuit!']
You can see that Sylvesters lips don't move when he says [Come back here you!] after Tweety threw the yarn. His voice actor dubbed it in after. [Another reason why the tunes have voice actors]
Foghorn hitting Elmer was planned and the hunter had time to brace himself. [Needed to do Toon stunts.]
As was the door to Marvin's spaceship falling over and hitting Marvin himself on the head.
When they were back in Toon World, the toons were back to acting the whole 'Square splitting open' scene. They acted like they thought they would in such a situation. So yes, Wile.E and Roadrunner hugged, Foghorn picked up Granny [She's designed to be old and Foggy simply didn't want to risk it.] Speedy saved Tweety [who was genuinely paralysed.] There were a few more like Gossamer picking up Elmer [A similar situation as with Tweet, he froze up.] and Sylvester had a brief moment of looking for his son before he remembered he was acting. [Cut both because it didn't make sense and it was a bit disturbing.]
The bit when the rest of the WarnerBros properties ran to watch the game was achieved by a mix of CGI'ing the CGI characters in afterwards and getting some of the paint-and-ink toons to really run in. It was chaos to film, took no less than 100 shots to get all the characters they wanted and overwhelmed several of the LT's.
The Goon Squad were CGI when playing in the game, so all the Toons were acting against thin air. So when Sylvester was trapped in the spiders web, he was actually suspending himself in mid air, with the web added in later.
The scene where Cronus messes with Lebron by putting a pirate hat on him ext was subbed by Daffy Duck. So Daffy was putting the pirate hat on him. Cronus was CGI, so wasn't actually there, but they needed someone to mess around with Lebron in real time. A few of the toons were hesitant because it's Lebron James, but Daffy? He didn't care.
Yes, Michael B Jordan did get to meet the Looney Tunes and his bit was also improvised. He was wondering about Warner Bros in connection to something unrelated and Sylvester found him and came up with the gag. So Lebron's, Daffy and Elmer's reaction was genuine.
Wile.E had to be careful when setting up the train gag. It couldn't hit Tweety or any other Tunes. Again he had a toon stand in for the CGI player, which in this case was Roady. This was because Roady was the only Toon who could be relied upon to outrun a speeding train. [Ok, maybe Speedy could have as well, but Roady was easier to see.]
It might seen odd that within the movie Lebron asked Porky to rap, and believe me he had his doubts, but the producers had already cleared it. Porky wrote the rap himself, mainly so he knew he'd be able to say it.
The Wile.E cloned bit was a mistake [it was just meant to be the balls going through the net, not the coyote] but [of course!] it went wrong and it was decided it was such a Wile.E/Toon thing that it was to good not to keep in.
When it was Granny's turn to go against Cronus she couldn't resist using the walker for effect. In this bit Cronus was also portrayed by Speedy [It wasn't Daffy because he had a bit of dialogue at the beginning of Granny's scene.]Speedy [and Roadrunner] were the main two who could play Cronus's game-play style convincingly. Also, what with Speedy being incredibly short, she could leap over him with hardly any effort. When the animators saw how high Granny could jump, they animated Cronus around it. Also when Granny 'aged-up' Cronus, Speedy had no issue acting as if he was 132.
After that when they were celebrating all the hugging and stuff was improvised based on how they felt in the moment. Hey, if you've got to hug someone you've got to hug them! [or elbow-bump them in Bugs and Elmer's case.]
Don Cheadle just stood in the middle of the court while he was transforming. They had to act terrified. [or at least vaguely unnerved.]
The entire slow motion thing was filmed using toon powers. Daffy subbed in as Dom and Wile.E as Lebron. Dom played himself, but of course had nothing to throw as that was added in after.
I think I already headcannoned about Bugs's deleting step, so I'll leave that alone for now.
The after credits were fun to film. Yes, the tunes visited LeBrons house. [That's where the pool scene is from.]Sylvester and Tweety did try out skateboarding [the scene shown is shot just before Sly crashed] Tax and Gossamer managed to ride the bikes for a bit, but ended up over-balancing and falling off. They couldn't resist having a golfing pick as a call-back to the first film. Yes, Yosemite and Elmer tried Yoga. Elmer was better at it than Yosemite. Sam couldn't get his mind in the zone enough.

All I can think of now is Kuki giving Kaeya the Talk when him and Itto first get together. And once Kaeya has been accepted by the Arataki gang him and Kuki become fast friends it makes Itto so happy.
And Granny Oni seeing her basically son finally in a serious relationship and doting incessantly on the two of them. Her telling Kaeya all of Ittos embarrassing stories of when he was younger.
It's just so cute all of it
Kuki wanted to shovel talk Kaeya a bit longer and harsher but then she notices that Kaeya was already wearing an "Itto protection squad badge" and suddenly there was just an ✨️understanding✨️ . The next time they meet, it's as if they've become besties (Itto doesn't know it's due to mutual protectiveness for him hehe). If you say anything bad about Itto, they will somehow appear behind you and you will see them in your nightmares
Alternatively, Diluc wasn't sure if he had the right to shovel talk Itto, but that didn't stop him from exuding a demonic aura as he glared at Itto whenever he sees him flirt with Kaeya. Charles had to make sure Diluc wasn't holding any glass whenever Itto kisses Kaeya in front of him after about 5 ones broken (Adelinde actually ended up doing the "please take good care of him" line)
AND YES! Granny Oni takes one look at Kaeya and immediately drags him to the shelf of photo albums filled with photos of baby Itto
Both Granny Oni and Kaeya are great at maneuvering out of Itto's way when he attempts to take said albums from them lmao

How to they comfort someone else when they're upset and how successful are they?
I could have sworn I did this, but I guess not. Looks like it's a good time to finally make a master list soon. Everyone else under the cut, since this ended up being kinda long
Other comfort related posts are Everyone's Comfort Item and What Do They Do When They're Lonely
The Maw
Six: Arguably bad at cheering others up. Says things that are both threatening and inspiring, and you’re kinda conflicted about it
the Janitor: He knows what it’s like to be on the short end of the stick, so he’ll do everything he can you make you feel appreciated. And, he’s not leaving until he hears you laughing again the Twin Chefs: Easily the best at cheering up people because they give you food. If you’re not a stress eater, then they become your personal cheering squad and offer to help get rid of whatever’s bothering you the Lady: Unless you’re in a very close relationship with her, you’re not going to get much. She’ll give you a new insight on how to face your challenges, which is really useful. But, if you two are super close, she’ll just handle the problem herself, to ease your worries the Granny: The tough love type, but she means well. Will give you morally bad advice, but that ends up making you smile the Runaway Kid: He’s just bad at comforting people. Not horrible, but not good at it either. He might give you a hug or take your side, and it’s the thought that counts, I guess
Pale City
Mono: Either really good or really bad at it. His thing is giving small flowers, and those work most of the time. If it’s a problem that goes over Mono’s head, he has no idea what to do the Hunter: You would think the angriest guy in Pale City wouldn’t give two shits about your feelings, but au contraire! Say less, and he’s on his way to expand his taxidermy trophies the Teacher: Ironically or unironically, she’s super protective over the people she cares about. She’ll tell you to suck it up, of course; but, then she’ll give you a hot drink and remind you that you’re an amazing person the Doctor: If you need to word vomit your problems, he’s the guy to it. The Doc’s really good at listening and may offer some treatments to help you calm down. It usually works; if not, a big, squishy hug always does the trick the Thin Man: He’s only bad at comforting people because he has a hard time relating. But, he’s such a softie and does his utmost best to cheer you up. Relies heavily on comedy to get you to laugh, and that almost always ends up working
The Nest
the Raincoat Girl: Best girl at cheering others up. She already has a sunshiny personality, so it’s hard to be upset around her. Gives hugs and praise when you need it most the Craftsman: lol the worst person to seek out if you’re upset. He’ll literally shrug his shoulders in indifference and watch you leave in tears. But, after hearing your grievances, he’ll build a small floating light thing to fly towards you to hopefully brighten your day the Butler: Not the person you wanted to go to, but he sensed your discomfort quickly. Offers you tea and sweets, and an ear to listen. It’s kind of nice to have someone be in-tuned to you when you need it most, which makes him one of the best at comforting others the Pretender: Another person you’d think would be ridiculously bad at comforting, and you’re mostly right. Like Six, she’ll say things that might put you down, but she’ll say the same things to the thing upsetting you. You’re left conflicted, but listening to her rant for you is sorta cathartic

DC's Stargirl 3.11 "Chapter Eleven: The Haunting" has aired on the CW and I'm here to talk about it
After last week, all I can say is what the fuck? Icicle is alive, Tigress & Sportsmaster are dead, Cameron has learned the truth, and Ultra-Humanite is on the loose. Everyone has gone wrong. Let's see everything get worse.
Okay, starting on a flashback. Not a bad sign. So instead of his ice form just reforming, Icicle just turned into water, went into the sewer, and somehow reformed from a puddle. Got it. But I guess he can't really fully hold himself together. His new body might only be temporary.
I really like how this show has never shied away from the weird & cooky names from comics.
Courtney may think the Mahkent's don't know Mike killed Jordan, but she's about to be in for a big surprise. Jordan probably remembers who really did it.
They're figuring out that something happened to Lawrence and Paula. I'm gonna really miss the friendships the parents had.
It'd be really funny if Granny Mahkent thought this Jordan was an imposter and tried to/successfully killed him. It's interesting to me that Cameron's wife is the one who had an interest in snowglobes, not Jordan. I don't know why, just a fun little detail I like. Sure, I'm willing to give Jordan points for his argument. Like, he's got an understandable reason to be all evil. I get why he does the thing that he does. However, if we remember back to his plan in season one, that was still genocide. I don't remember the exact number but Jordan fully knew that some percentage (I think a 3rd? That sounds right) of the people he'd mind control would die from it. So like, still evil and still needed to be stopped, even if he had good intentions and reasoning.
Jordan forgiving Mike for killing him is an interesting twist. Forgiving all of them even. Which is interesting because he's applying the same "they thought what they were doing was right" (they were) logic that he and the ISA applied to their own plan. I wonder if knowing that Courtney was willing to potentially get herself fully killed by taking responsibility for Jordan's death will affect Cameron's view of her now that he knows she was protecting Mike. I've said it before, I don't think Cameron would've gone to kill Mike. But Granny definitely would've if not for the peace talks she just had with the Crocks.
What is Jordan's endgame? He's clearly been the one watching everyone. But why? Did he bring Ultra-Humanite here?
If only Cindy was here, this would be the ultimate squad.
There aren't even bodies for them to find. Artemis will probably recover from this.
Of course, they discover Jordan through Barbara! Oh fuck, this is bad. That bitch was really creepy obsessed with her. And his creeper energy has not gone away. Sends bad shivers down my spine. Someone kill him for real this time.
Oh, I did not expect the Staff to be able to do that. That's scary. Sylvester is going to come after Icicle the same way that he did the Crocks, and this time I think one of them might actually kill the other.
Self-defence my ass.
Do you think Cameron that his dad was the one who killed his friend Joey? And why? We know what this man does to his teammates and their families.
Cindy's back!!
I feel so happy about the mention of the Zarick's. Yes Courtney, hold his bitch ass accountable!
Okay, first of all. It is not naive to be willing to give someone a second chance and see the good in people. I don't think Icicle deserves one, but Courtney is not naive for her heart.
I knew these fuckers were working together!! It's a ruse!!!
Two episodes left. Holy shit. So much to do, so little time. I feel like we're gearing up for a showdown between Courtney and Sylvester. Which is good, someone needs to put him in his place. The title of episode 12 does make me think that Sylvester is probably going to die again. I don't want to Courtney to kill him, but I do want her to kick his ass before he does.
It's all coming down to this.
Keep in mind, there is a bit of a break. We won't have a new episode next this, but rather the following week on November 30th. So we'll be back in 2 weeks with DC's Stargirl 3.12 "Chapter Twelve: The Last Will and Testament of Sylvester Pemberton"

-Eyes of Heaven [Reader/Akatsuki]
Note . . ⇢  This is simply a side story to the main story Eyes of Heaven. An Ocs Pov of the other side of the situation.
Summary . . ⇢ Tsunade has to come to a quick decision. Protecting the leaf or exploring the disappearances of countless villages.

The room was silent. Brutally quiet. No one dared speak a word out of fear the legendary sanin would lash out. Yet this quietness made the blonde even more irritated. She wanted someone else's feedback. Something!
However everyone fell short causing a sigh to escape her lips. Eyes shortly closing before reopening to gaze at the group of shinobi in front of her. "To say I'm worried about this village is an understatement."
Tsunade lips pursed, "Having a full man squad disappear in the matter of seconds is alarming...and I'm not willing to send anyone else back out."
"What?!" The sudden outburst caused the sanin to furrow her eyebrows. What was there to rebuttal? This was a matter of safety to her fellow shinobi. "Naruto!"
She watched as he took a step forward, frustration and sorrow filling his expression. "We vowed to help the villages who were desperate! We can't go back on our way granny!"
"Naruto!" The pink haired girl standing behind him gripped his shirt, yanking him back. "Are you not understanding the severity of this?" She grumbled.
A whole man squad gone. No where to be found. So why does Naruto have such a thick skull. "Well what are we gonna do? Sit back and watch as more villages get destroyed?"
"What about the missing leaf ninjas?" Naruto added.
In that moment Tsunade could feel her fist ball up, sending her to snap up on her seat. Hands slamming on the desk. "It's time we start worrying about ourselves."
"My lady!" Shizune uttered, suddenly reaching towards her apprentice. "Do you really think our village is a possibility?"  It was a stretch. A huge one.
It seemed as they were only interested in smaller villages. Precisely with no shinobi to back it up.
"We should never stop to think about our own village....sometimes it's crucial."
It stood quiet in the room over Kakashi statement. Though he had a valid point it just didn't feel right in Naruto's heart. "This just isn't right." He uttered, leaving the room without hearing another words.
His hands rested in his pockets as he headed out the building completely. Maybe he just needed time to fully look at the picture. Try to see their point of view of the situation.

Combat Granny Kup’s all done up and ready to raise hell once she’s done knitting  this scarf, give her a second, children these days are so impatient.  Young!Springer was definitely a sweet surprise for her, despite their ‘unique’ background, especially after her time helping Senator Shockwave save Outlier children. They become a literal bigger surprise with how fast their grow in her care.
More of her story below!
Kopisha ‘Kop’ Prasad was born to parents Arjun Prasad and Gauri Chaudhary in the town of Lukla at the foot of Mt.  Everest in 1920, the year Quintessons came into contact with Earth.
Humanity’s disastrous loss to and ongoing subjugation by the Quintesson colonizers by 1925 pushed many survivors of the First Quintesson War from obliterated major cities into isolated towns and villages where Quintessons would have difficulty launching a sustained assault; Lukla’s subarctic climate, for nine months of the year, provide a measure of protection for those who took refuge there and eventually turned the area into a fort.
As such, Kopisha grew up in a tight-knit community focused on mutual survival and joined the scouting division when she was eighteen, gathering intel for the Gurkha division during the Summer months, when the weather became warm  enough for Quintessons to attempt surveillance and invasions.
During an excursion, she was captured by a Quintesson scientific expedition team who brought her to Kathmandu where their outpost was stationed. They ran experiments on her there, attempting to understand the people who lived on such inhospitable terrain and better adapt to it.
She escaped after a year in captivity, using her time there to map out the area and subtly gather intel from her captors, which proved to be invaluable to the survival of Lukla down the line, and while she has never confirmed this, she believes the experimentations on her in that time might have contributed to her longevity.
With her no-nonsense attitude, her dedication to her team and her talent for combat, she was quickly drafted into the Gurkhas three years into the Second Quintesson War where she excelled as a frontliner and took on the mantle of her squad’s leader in 1943.
She helped lead her squad to victory in the first counter-invasion on the  Quintesson stronghold in Kathmandu in 1945, which was part of a collaborative, international effort to draw the attention of the Quintessons away from their Mothership via simultaneous worldwide rebellions so an attack could be launched on it by the 13 Primes.
After their victory and the end of the Second Quintesson War, she was promoted and continued to climb the ranks in the Gurkha division, eventually reaching the rank of Major.
She retired from active duty in 1980, taking up a position in Singapore’s Gurkha Contingent  where she would work for a decade before heading to Nepal where she took part time work as a soldier-for-hire and training cadets for the Indian army.
It was during this time that she established a relationship with other retired soldiers who took on for-hire work together, eventually becoming a loosely-linked squad known as the Wreckers who went on dangerous missions mainly for the challenge, ranging in everything from extraction of kidnapping victims to infiltrating major drug dens.
(She scored her best payout during one of these missions in the form of an Ovcharka belonging to a Russian drug lord, which she adopted after they crippled his syndicate. Dakshi is her baby)
Around this time, she was approached by an up and coming Senator from Pakistan named Sharifuddin Waseem (Shockwave) who, having heard of her accolades,  wanted to employ her services as his bodyguard while he traveled Asia and Russia seeking out a small group of people known as Outliers to save from oppression by governments which had deemed them as aberrations.
She agreed, and the two of them travelled the world for five years, seeking out children with special abilities who were abandoned, ostracized or hidden away by their communities, beginning with a boy simply known as Tagan (Tarn) from Turkmenistan, whose abilities led to villagers amputating both his hands out of fear of him, and Aleksandr ‘Sasha’ Kolyanov (Skids) from Russia.
These two served as the first students in Sharifuddin’s new secret Institute focussed on giving them an education and helping them develop their abilities for the betterment of mankind.
Despite having no desire for a family, Kopisha grew close to the children she helped bring to the Institute, who often referred to her as ‘Bajyai’ (Grandma).
It was also through her time with Sharifuddin that she became more aware of the activism he took part in, concerning the treatment of the poor and the working class as well as the new caste system based around work stratification.
These were things she agreed with, more so with many of her Wrecker friends turning to for-hire work after being unable to secure any different positions after their usefulness as soldiers had dissipated.
At his Institute was where she met Omar Parvez (Optimus Prime), Morgan Trayton (Megatron) and Stefan Scavarro (Starscream) for the first time, as members of a movement that was fighting for equality across the board for all members of society.
She was drawn to Omar’s warmth and sincerity almost immediately, and took the position of training the frontliners once more given her experience in the military.
When Omar was believed to have been killed by Sentinel Prime and Morgan  sought to forcefully assimilate those loyal to the man into his new Decepticon faction to continue with his agenda, she was one of the few who escaped and regrouped into a splinter faction.
Omar’s miraculous reappearance weeks later however, seemingly with no lasting damage, was something they all rallied behind and she got into contact with her Wrecker friends to form a strike team which would help with breaking into the Decepticon base to free their comrades who were imprisoned there.
With their success and the establishment of the Autobots, the  Wreckers, under her leadership, were officially assigned as their Spec Op team.
Having lived through the Second Quintesson War has jaded her towards battle, more so that Sharifuddin and several of the now adult children which she had helped save had chosen to align themselves with the Decepticons, but she holds onto the things that are worth fighting for, taking up the mantle of mentor once more for Stella Armstrong (StrongArm), Spencer Richards (Springer) and Praveen Satvinder (Perceptor) when the head scientist decides to take up the position of a sniper on the field.

Say hello to Shas’vre T’au Bork’erri Himoya. Commonly referred to as Eaji’ji (Granny) by the rest of the Cadre, Himoya is easily the oldest and most skilled Battlesuit pilot in the Cadre. Her name means snow maned (Bork’erri) in reference to her shock white hair, and honored protector (Himoya) due to how frequently she intervenes to protect others in the Cadre from harm.
Almost every member of the Cadre has had their life saved by their Eaji’ji on more than one occasion, and she knows the names of every fire warrior in the Cadre. It’s rare for Fire Warriors to live to such old age, and those that have are greatly respected for their skill. In her younger years, Himoya actually was the squad leader (Shas’ui) to then Shas’las Ko’Shi and Yesu’to and the two of them will still refer to her as Namsai (teacher) to this day.
As such, she is actually a relatively new addition to Ko’Shi’s Cadre. Back in the 3rd Sphere expansion, when Ko’Shi advanced to ‘ui rank, she joined a battlesuit squad and advanced to ‘vre rank relatively quickly. Her Shas’o at the time quickly noticed her skill, and she served notably as one of their bodyguards. Once granted the honor of donning the Riptide battlesuit, she became legendary for her skill as a warrior and as she aged this legend only increased.
With Ko’Shi’s return to the T’au military, the Ethereals decided that to bolster his legitimacy as a commander due to his long absence from the front, Himoya should join his Cadre. Already the two have reconnected as Warriors and had stunning successes on the battlefield together. Himoya’s skill and their history of combat together allowed Ko’Shi to adapt to modern T’au combat at a startling pace.
Unlike most Fire Caste members Himoya has never been part of a match that produced children. If asked why this is, she often responds by saying that she has so many grandchildren in her Cadre already, she doesn’t have time for kids. She is asexual and while it is unusual for a fire warrior to not reproduce, it is not unheard of and she is still deeply respected and honored for her lifetime of service.

Part Two: Claims about NMJ and NHS
Intro - Pt 1 - Pt 2 - Pt 3 - Pt 4
NMJ
1) NMJ wished to protect NHS from cultivating with the sabre as a youth.
I don't think he tells us this in quite so many words, but it seems implied by the flashback scenes: his giving NHS the paintbrush, the bit where he takes 修刀 and gives NHS 修心, and course him literally telling NHS that whatever NHS wishes to do, he'd support it.
As far as I can tell there's no evidence of this. Now, to be fair, we don't see them as children in MDZS, but there is not as far as I can tell any sign that NMJ has ever done anything but strongly desire that NHS work on the sabre. Indeed, even at Hejian during Sunshot, the reason he overhears MY and LXC's conversation is because he is bringing NHS' sabre to LXC so that NHS will not be able to escape practicing with it. He certainly does not renew any kind of commitment to allowing NHS to do what he wills before his death. In CQL, we see rather less, but as far as I can tell there doesn't seem to be anything that contradicts MDZS on this front.
2) In his heart, NMJ carried significant doubts about the righteousness of Nie cultivation practices, including both the sabre-curse-inducing sabre cultivation and the practice of balancing the sabre spirits via corpses in the wall
This is quite central to the movie. It's arguably implicit in his desire to protect NHS from cultivating with the sabre, but beyond that, he is clearly extremely uncomfortable at NHS' moral challenge of Nie practices and believes at least partially that NHS has a point; moreover, it's implicit in his confessions to NHS in the tomb:
The Nie family's ancestors created this family foundation with great hardships. Unexpectedly, it was cursed by the sword spirit. I practiced swordsmanship hard and thought I could find a way to solve it, but I just followed the same old disastrous road of the ancestors.
And of course, his moral arc in the movie is about embracing those doubts and rejecting Nie tradition.
There is as far as I can tell no evidence of this in MDZS or CQL; in fact we don't learn anything about the Nie burial traditions in scenes where NMJ is still alive, and he never shows any doubt about the wisdom of sabre cultivation.
3) NMJ used to be "intelligent and wise"; it's due to the effects of the sabre curse that he is "moody and brutal".
We're explicitly told this by NHS at around 32:50: "Da-ge, look at you now, you have changed. When you were young, you were always wise and intelligent. Ever since you practiced swordsmanship, you've become moody and brutal." It's also backed up by the childhood flashbacks. The sharp distinction between NMJ and sabre-curse-affected-NMJ, shown by the way sabre-curse-affected NMJ is visually marked out, also helps suggest this.
Now, in MDZS and CQL, this…is complicated. Again, in MDZS, we don't see him as a child—the earliest we see him is still well past the time he began practicing sabre cultivation. And in ch 26 NHS does indeed suggest that sabre cultivation causes increasing irritability; it certainly seems plausible, indeed almost necessary, that he had less of a temper before he started practicing, and for that matter we see his anger grow worse as time goes on.
Nevertheless, we never actually see any trace of a calm-tempered NMJ in the text. Even by the beginning of Sunshot, his reputation as an angry man is firmly established. Consider the Nie men's reaction to his anger at their shit-talking MY, in the cave:
The entire cave was in a muddle. Everyone knew ChiFeng-Zun’s personality—the more one tried to explain, the angrier he was. Seeing that they probably couldn’t escape punishment and would have to tell the truth, nobody dared to speak a word.
Even his friend LXC says to MY, “MingJue-xiong has quite a fiery personality. It must have been truly difficult for you to have earned his approval.”
And NHS, who very much loves his brother even as he is also to some extent frightened of him, is never shown pining for the halcyon days of yore. Narratively speaking, sabre-affected NMJ is the only NMJ we know. I think…this is something a Nie brothers spinoff could theoretically do something interesting with, but the way it's presented in their relationship is all wrong.
In CQL, the evidence is much the same or just not shown. NMJ generally seems less angry (though even so, we see him be angry at the Nie men for mocking MY (in subjective CQL-Empathy, but still), at WWX for saying maybe let's not kill XY immediately, at JGY for having killed the Nie cultivators, etc.), and if anything his relationship with NHS seems better than it is in the novel, although this too is well after he's begun to practice sabre cultivation.
4) NMJ respects NHS' interests
When picking NHS to lead the other team in the tombs, NMJ tells us that NHS knows most about astronomy in the Nie, and NMJ clearly considers this valuable.
If NHS did actually have significant knowledge of cultivation, NMJ would probably respect that. However, this is what NMJ has to say about the interests NHS canonically has (ch 49):
Nie HuaiSang was absolutely delighted. He greeted Jin GuangYao again and again as he grabbed the fans in haste. Seeing how his younger brother reacted, Nie MingJue was so outraged that he almost found it amusing. He turned to Jin GuangYao, “Don’t send him those useless things!”
In a hurry, Nie HuaiSang dropped a few fans on the ground. Jin GuangYao picked them up for him and put them into his arms, “HuaiSang’s hobbies are quite elegant. He’s dedicated to art and calligraphy, and has no propensity for mischief. How can you say that they’re useless?”
Nie HuaiSang nodded as fast as he could, “Yes, Brother is right!”
Nie MingJue, “But sect leaders have no need for such things.”
In CQL, I believe we just don't see enough to say, although given that again, NHS' isn't actually studying cultivation, it seems likely NMJ' attitudes are much the same.
NHS
1) NHS is profoundly morally motivated
NHS is immediately and hugely upset with the practice of using corpses in the walls, explicitly on moral grounds, even though it was the practice of their ancestors, and even once he finds out that they're not (usually) Nie men, but evildoers.
Having been told by NZH that the blades need the corpses to suppress their aggressiveness: "But isn't that just sacrificing people?" "Zonghui, the Nie family have always been righteous. If we give sacrifice to it with life, we will become evil."
And then, to NMJ: "Wait. Let me ask you. Why is here called the Sword Sacrifice Hall? What is to balance sword spirit? I didn't understand before coming what exactly Sword Sacrifice Hall represents. I know it now. This is not balance but sacrificing flesh and blood!"
NZH: Second Young Master, you misunderstood it. Those corpses belong to evil men. The Nie family's ancestors had uses their bodies to balance the sword spirit. We also follow the ancestral instructions."
NHS: (to NZH) Evil men? (to NMJ) Aren't they human beings? Are you qualified for deciding their fate?
NMJ: The sword spirit is extremely dangerous. Generations of the Nie family all balanced the spirit in this way.
NHS: Even if they were wrong, you also follow their way?
In MDZS…I went over the chapters where he shows up, and I'm not actually sure we ever see him express a moral sentiment? I could be missing something, but it doesn't seem to be any kind of fundamental part of his character.
This is his reaction to WWX's first suggestion of demonic cultivation, when they're studying at CR (ch 14):
After thinking for a few moments, an expression of envy and yearning appeared on Nie HuaiSang’s face, “To be honest, Wei-xiong’s words were quite interesting. Spiritual energy can only be obtained through cultivation and taking great pains to form a golden core. It would take I-don’t-know-how-many years to do, especially for someone like me, whose talent seems as if it was gnawed by a dog when I was in my mother’s womb. But, resentful energy are from the fierce ghosts. If they can easily be taken and used, it would be beyond wonderful.”
And—granted this is several years down the line and NHS is keeping up his cover, but when NHS is explaining the sabre tomb to LWJ and WWX in chapter 26, he doesn't seem to have any problem with the practice. In fact, he tells us that he participated in choosing corpses for NMJ's sabre:
Nie HuaiSang was already shocked speechless. Wei WuXian inquired, “Who chooses the corpses that the Nie Sect uses for the Saber Hall?”
Nie HuaiSang replied with a glazed expression, “Usually, the past sect leaders chose and stored them when they were still alive. My brother passed away at an earlier age. He didn’t have enough, so I also helped him choose some… I kept whichever corpses that were complete with all limbs. I don’t know about anything other than this…”
In CQL...mmm. I rewatched all the pre-Sunshot scenes with him in it, and I do think he comes across as, at least, less amoral. We don't have the gee wouldn't demonic cultivation be nice scene, and you could definitely interpret him as being worried about the granny at Dafan, or even the temporary-puppets; he says you have to admire Songxiao's integrity and elegance as they depart; and while we don't see him be part of the initial 'maybe we shouldn't just immediately execute XY squad,' he does go da-ge after NMJ seems irritated at WWX, and after NMJ throws MY out he goes in and is like but why!!!! That said, in both cases where he challenges (and I use the term rather loosely for the da-ge after NMJ is irritated with WWX), he immediately backs down faced with NMJ's opposition. I really don't see any sign of the character who is so morally motivated and so sure of his own correctness he challenges NMJ, /in front of all their men/, and keeps up the challenge despite NMJ's consistent opposition.
2) NHS isn't really interested in JGY's gifts
At no point is he shown delighting over or interested in anything JGY gave him (except of course the flute for treating his brother), and in fact when JGY says that after the journey he will give him gifts he replies "San-ge, I am not afraid of difficult journeys. I'm not craving for toys either." On the contrary, gifts are associated with /NMJ/, who gave him a paintbrush as a child.
In MDZS, we see him explicitly delighted in and interested by JGY's gifts. In ch 49, we see him going over a dozen gold-lined fans, which turn out to be gifts from JGY; when JGY mentions he's going to play a song for NMJ, he expresses interest and mentions "the limited edition" JGY gave him "last time," and then when NMJ shouts at him to go to his room he runs instead "to the living room for the presents that Jin GuangYao had brought him;" when JGY shows up at Qinghe after the stairs incident, NHS "beamed as he got ready to go to Jin GuangYao and see what presents he brought this time." Considering how little time they have together on the page, the gifts show up a great deal.
In CQL, we mostly don't see a lot of NHS and JGY's interactions after JGY's legitimation but before NMJ's death, so it's impossible to directly say. However, he is at least shown to delight in and greatly value beautiful things (see at least the fan flashback in ep 35).
3) NHS is motivated by a desire for his brother's respect and the respect of their men.
This is the argument JGY uses which finally settles NHS on going along on the journey, around 14:30: "Both of you are pillars of the Nie family. You should work together. You can also prove yourself." See also his pleasure with himself at solving the puzzle quickly in the tombs; it's not a purely self-satisfied pleasure, but rather, "It seems I'm not useless" (27:35ish). When NZH replies, "Second Young Master, you are definitely not useless. It's just because everyone has their own will," NHS gives a firm little nod. NMJ's respect for NHS' skills and interests is also made central to their relationship.
In MDZS, NHS really doesn't seem to be motivated by people respecting him. Consider, again, what he says about WWX's idea of demonic cultivation (ch 14):
After thinking for a few moments, an expression of envy and yearning appeared on Nie HuaiSang’s face, “To be honest, Wei-xiong’s words were quite interesting. Spiritual energy can only be obtained through cultivation and taking great pains to form a golden core. It would take I-don’t-know-how-many years to do, especially for someone like me, whose talent seems as if it was gnawed by a dog when I was in my mother’s womb. But, resentful energy are from the fierce ghosts. If they can easily be taken and used, it would be beyond wonderful.”
A golden core was a core formed by cultivators after they had cultivated to a certain point. It can store and control spiritual energy. After the core was formed, the cultivator’s level of cultivation would increase at a rapid speed, and become better and better. Else, they would only be a low-end cultivator. If disciple from a prominent clan forms the core at a later age, it would be a disgrace to tell other people of it, yet Nie HuaiSang didn’t feel ashamed at all. Wei WuXian also laughed, “I know, right? No harm comes from using it.”
Even during Sunshot, he's slacking off, using the excuse of having forgotten his sabre. (ch 48)
And then in ch. 49, after NMJ burns his things:
Nie HuaiSang roared at Nie MingJue, “Saber, saber, saber! Who the fuck wants to practice the damn thing?! So what if I want to be a good-for-nothing?! Whoever that wants to can be the sect leader! I can’t learn it means I can’t learn it and I don’t like it means I don’t like it! What’s the use of forcing me?!”
I'm not necessarily saying he wouldn't enjoy it if NMJ respected him, and certainly it seems a fair read that he would like it if NMJ yelled at him less. But by and large, he just doesn't show any objection to being thought of as useless, even before his Headshaker cover—and there's a reason that cover worked, after all.
In CQL...well, again, he doesn't really show any sign of objecting to being thought useless, as far as I can tell.
4) NHS knows about the sabre curse
JGY explicitly says so at about 13:05: "You know his sickness. He didn't do it on purpose." Moreover, if NHS didn't know, the offer of flute-playing wouldn't really make sense.
In MDZS, NMJ explicitly hasn't told NHS at least as of JGY's visit after the stairs, and there's no indication he told him between then and when he qi-deviated. Indeed, it's JGY who thinks NHS should be told, while NMJ rejects this (ch 50):
Jin GuangYao, “Brother, these days you’ve been stricter and stricter towards HuaiSang. Is it the saber spirit…?”
After a pause, he continued, “Does HuaiSang still not know about the saber spirit?”
Nie MingJue, “Why would I tell him so soon?”
In CQL, we're not told either way; this being the case I tend towards defaulting to MDZS unless I have a specific reason to think otherwise.
5) NHS, though bad at fighting, is skilled in cultivation theory
Again, JGY says so, at around 13:19: "You are good at Daoist magic" (and NHS seems to accept it). Moreover this is continually backed up by the film, with NHS making good use of it in the tomb, and then of course in the last scene having put together the true effect of the corrupted passage.
There is no indication of this in MDZS. He's interested in art and beautiful things, but he struggles with the Lan lectures. When JGY defends NHS' interests, he mentions art and calligraphy, and says his hobbies are elegant; he makes no mention of any kind of cultivation theory. As WWX himself notes, thinking back (ch 21):
In the past, Wei WuXian and Nie HuaiSang studied together, so there were a few things he could comment about this person. Nie HuaiSang wasn’t an unkind person. It wasn’t that he was not clever, but that his heart was set somewhere else and used his smarts on other areas, such as painting on fans, searching for birds, skipping classes, and catching fish. Because his talent in terms of cultivation really was poor, he formed his core around eight or nine years later than the other disciples of the same generation as him. When he lived, Nie MingJue was often exasperated by the fact that his brother didn’t meet his expectations, so he disciplined him strictly. Despite this, he still didn’t improve much.
I'm not saying he couldn't have developed in this direction after NMJ's death, but there doesn't seem to be any indication he was skilled in that way beforehand. Again, there's a reason his cover as "totally useless person" works as a cover.
In CQL, again, we don't really see any evidence of his skill with cultivation. NHS is shown flipping through his book for the answer to the executioner question LQR asks WWX; he doesn't show any evidence of significant cultivation knowledge on the road trip section (although he is shown to have a good memory for things he's actually interested in, and you could argue he has good instincts!); his wish at the lantern festival is that he passes his studies at the Lan. I just don't see it.

Hey I was wondering if your still taking fic requests?
Because... This one has been just bugging me relentlessly in my head
It's a bad batch fic requests that I'd say would fit fine in like.. three-ish chapters
So basically:
The bad batch are on a mission by Cid to retrieve some resources from the empire but get separated due to some natural disasters like an avalanche, rock slide (your choice on that one) and the focus is on Hunter trying to get back to his squad without getting detected by the imperials.
However while walking carefully to the edge of a Clif to try and maybe find his brothers from higher ground, he accidentally activates a bear trap and in sprit second decision making jumps off the cliff into a river down below (low-key thinking in his head: welp... That wasn't my brightest moment.)
Next thing he knows he's in some sort of hutt and his brothers, sister are waiting for him to wake up but also an older woman he first doesn't recognize but quickly realizing is his old combat instructor.
and let's just say this woman is the closest thing to a mother the batch ever had.
her name is Barka Katchiv a retired Togruta Bounty Hunter/ mercenary that was drinking/ hunting pals with jango back in the day.
(you can get creative with her looks but she definitely has some wicked facial scars)
she kinda acts like a sweet old lady most of the time although she swears like a galactic sailor when in casual convos with other adults. can and will put a young man in their place if they disrespect her. she has a soft spot for her wild/ feral little batch of clones calling them pups or cubs occasionally. In summary on her: acts like a granny cinnamon roll, could actually kill you.
The batch gets to catch up with her, she explains to Hunter that it was one of her hunting traps he had jump away from and the batch introduce Omega properly to her.
she falls absolutely in love with this little girl and becomes far more doting and nurturing then the batch expected
She helps them finish their mission and kick some imperial ass on the side and out of a maternal protective instinct gives everyone some extra credits she personally don't really need, winter coats/clothes made from animal furr she had made for future missions, omega some pretty dress/suits that where her daughters (she did have kids tho she had to let the father raise them since her line of work was problematic, still keeps some of her kids old clothes and toys as a momento) and a good old hardy huntsman stew to eat before saying goodbye.
You can call the fic something like "Old mama Barka" but honestly it's up to you on that front
Also one last thing:
If you want to you can take this "oc" and adopt her
She's a character idea that deserves a good writer to handle and have fun with her honestly.
So in over all summary:
Hunter is accidentally stupid. They meet their togruta mama. They kick some ass. Leave with gifts.
And *YEET* this character concept your way
And if you don't want to do this fic I perfectly understand, honestly I would be impressed that you read through all of this
Have a lovely afternoon!
(It's afternoon here so..)
Ooooooh! I'm loving this idea!
It might take me a little bit but I'm gonna start working on this ASAP!

Can I ask hc about La Squadra after a very young member joined? Like, they're super short and made their 18 like, yesterday but have a kick-ass strong stand! How would they react? (Sorry for the hyper-specific request tho ^^""")
I’ve been waiting for this one😎✨ Thank you for your request, my sweet anon💚
I decided to make them even younger, they’re about 16-17 here and haven’t graduated from school yet
La Squdra with new young member
Tumblr media
Risotto Nero
The first thought Risotto had when he saw them for the first time was “A child😐”
When he finds out about their stand abilities he’s confused. Stand is a representation of it’s owner’s soul. They’re so young, how can they be so terrifying inside? Risotto is really worried about their mental health
I totally see him teaching them how to drive. They’re a mafioso now, and skill such as driving is very important. He’s a good teacher but his explanations are way too complicated for a 16 year-old, he really needs to chill out for a little
Risotto sometimes asks them to explain some slang words he doesn’t understand or stupid memes that only teenagers get
Formaggio
He’s totally excited about them. All teenagers are crackheads and he is too, he has so many stupid things to do with them
Formaggio loves to fool around with newbie. They’re full of energy and are always up to get crazy with him
When he faced their stand during a fight with enemy his reaction was “Yo man wtf”. He knew that they’re strong, but that strong? He gets even more exited though
He’s kind of a big brother to them, he always pranks other teammates with them, buys them new music cds(probably Snoop Gogg🙃)
Melone
Melone is intrigued. Such a young person joined assassin squad? That sounds pretty interesting
He’s pretty chill about them. They’re nice to him and another members, they look pretty reliable(as much as teen could be), why should he not like them?
He’d happily help them with their homework if they had any troubles doing it. His explanations are pretty simple and easy to grasp
When he finally finds out about their stand he’s... impressed. How such a young and fragile person can have such a strong and terrifying stand? He gets interested in newbie even more
Ghiaccio
Ghiaccio is pretty aggressive towards newbie for the first time, but it’s simply because he doesn’t know them properly
But once he gets along with them, they’re his lil buddy. He’s a good guy and is easy to be around
When Ghiaccio faces their stand he seems indifferent but on the inside he goes “daaaaamn biiitch”, he’s fully exited about it and has a million questions about how it works
If they can skate he’ll definitely ask them to teach him. When Ghiaccio sees skaters doing some tricks with their boards it looks hella cool and he wants to try it, but is kinda afraid to do it on his own
Prosciutto
Prosciutto is... confused. Yeah, he knows that Risotto accepts to assassin squad only strong and reliable people despite their age/gender, but... 16 yo? Really?
I see him as a “mommy” of the team and he makes sure that they get enough of sleep and stay hydrated during the day
Prosciutto doesn’t admit it but he needs to take care of somebody. Their little form makes him so soft he wants to feed them some spaghetti 🥺
When he finds out about their stand his reaction is familiar to Risotto’s. What made this little person gain such a powerful abilities? He’s worried about newbie and tries to figure out how did they gain their abilities
Illuso
He was so annoyed when Risotto introduced them to the team. “Really? A schooler? Are you fucking kidding me?”
But ended up cherishing and adoring his young buddy(especially if they were a girl, they’re soft and cute). He’s a jerk towards his teammates(he loves them, but would never admit it), but newbie is so young, full of energy and vigor, he wants protect them
He’s a little bit shocked when he finds out about their stand. His little bunny is independent and can stand up for themself? They don’t need his protection? Fuk😢
He loves to scare them by appearing behind them in their mirror reflection. He laughes hardly after that, especially if they screamed or squealed
Pesci
He’s toatally okay with their age, he’s not that older than them. Pesci is also happy that he’s no longer the shortest one in the squad
Pesci is happy that there’s another young person that knows all memes and usually you can find them two laughing their asses off about some stupidest shit
When he faced their stand he was truly amazed. They’re so smart and talented in his eyes, of course they have a strong stand
We all know that Pesci has self-esteem problems and they inspire him to be a little bit stronger every day, even when he’s desperate they make him going
Sorbet and Gelato
You know what Gelato is afraid of? Teenagers. When Risotto introduced new member to the team he was ‘Holy shit’
Sorbet is totally okay with newbie, he even fools around with them sometimes and gets them ice cream
They’re not surprised when they find out about newbie’s stand. They understand that Risotto included them among his assassin team for their abilities, so Sorbet and Gelato are chill about it
As a couple they have thought about having a child, and when they get to know newbie they become some kind of parents to them. They pamper and cherish newbie, and other members call newbie their “little baby”
Gelato is way softer than Sorbet and cares deeply about his “child’s” well being and has uncontrollable need to feed them😂(like most grannies has). He doesn’t show it but he gets super jealous when Prosciutto fusses over them, - they’re his baby, no one can touch them but him😠😢

Scar Map - All Sewn Up Chapter 2
The halls of Shin’ō academy were noisy and filled with the voices of its students, socializing before class, grabbing their books, their pads, their swords, and their fighting equipment. Although the area was crowded and loud, one voice rang out louder than the rest, at least to Toshiro Hitsugaya.
He sat near the window, waiting for one of his Kido classes to begin. Hitsugaya watched his longtime-friend chat with a male student, one with dark brown hair and bright green eyes. He first felt something was off about him when he had snaked his way behind her storage locker and surprised her when she slammed it shut. Toshiro would have lost interest and assumed it was a friend of hers playing a prank, but then he heard her yelp in surprise. That peaked his attention. Hinamori was nice enough to the guy, but she didn’t seem like she wanted to engage him any longer, assuming she had a class of her own to go to or an instructor to see. The bold brown-haired boy didn’t seem to catch the hint.
“I’ll tell ya what, I’m throwing a party at my parents’ place. They’re off on some mission in the world of the living. Gonna have lots of sake! Eh? Whaddya say?”
“You know, that sounds like so much fun, but I’ve got a lot of studying to catch up on, so thank you for the invitation, but I’ll have to take a raincheck.” She responds politely, then attempts to walk to her next destination, but is once again halted in her tracks by the boy, who slid in front of her as she tried to step away.
“I don’t think you understand,” He says, narrowing his eyes. “My name is Tajima Yoshiyuki. Both of my parents are full-fledged soul reapers. I’m kind of a big deal around here.” He points his thumb towards his chest and continues.
“I’m gonna be the one carrying on their legacy. In fact, I even plan to surpass them both and become a full-fledged captain of the Thirteen Court Guard Squads.” Yoshiyuki crosses his arms over his chest, closes his eyes and states smugly,
“You don’t just say "no" to me. What have you got to lose? So far, you’re a nobody--AGH--!”
The arrogant man was unable to finish before Toshiro grabbed him by the back of the neck and twisted his arm behind him. He slammed Tajima up against the wooden lockers with a solid ‘THUD’.
“I believe she politely declined your invitation,” Hitsugaya said to him in a low growl, pinning his arm further up against his back to force a sharp 'CRACK' from his bones.
“GAHAA--!” Tajima screams.
“Maybe you should learn how to take a hint!” The silver-haired boy exclaims as he pulls Yoshiyuki back by the collar of his uniform, spins him around, twists to the side to put all his weight on one foot, then pounds his other full force into the already regretful boy’s back, sending him flying into some chairs.
Toshiro is left holding his right fist out in front of him as Yoshiyuki stumbles and slips as he tries to get up onto his feet and finally scurry away.
“Same temper, same old Shiro.” Momo chimes in behind him. His shoulders relax from their tensed state and he glances back at her.
“It’s been a while! Look at how much you’ve grown!” The pig-tailed girl exclaimed.
He turns and before he’s able to reprimand her, she’s practically on top of him, her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. He settles on letting her have this one and relaxes in her arms, after all, she did just get harassed by some strange, wolvish student in the hall.
I’ll have to have a chat with the headmaster about Mr. - … what did he say his name was?
Hitsugaya blushes as Momo buries her face into his shoulder.
“Thank you for coming to my rescue, Shiro, although,” Momo begins, as she lifts her head to meet his shining emerald eyes and places a palm on her hip, the other still slung around his shoulder.
“I could have handled him myself.” He smiles ever so slightly back at her.
“I know that, stupid. I just wanted the assholes here to know that you’ve got someone in your corner who isn’t as polite and kind as you manage to be. Don’t get me wrong, Momo, you’re strong, but you’re a pushover, same as always!” He begins to brush her off of him, and Hinamori pouts.
“You can’t let them treat you like that. You’re better than them. You know that. Can’t you feel the energy growing inside you?” He says to her, now holding her shoulders and staring into her chocolate eyes.
Hinamori sighs and nods.
“So… you’re going to be a soul reaper now, huh?” She says as a smirk creeps onto her lips.
“Kinda lame, don’tcha think?” She prods, elbowing him in the ribs. Toshiro crosses his arms and closes his eyes with a hmph.
“Yeah, yeah, I know…” He sighs.
She knows there’s something on his mind, so she waits patiently, even as others pass to get to class. Toshiro continues when all the students flood into their respective classrooms and the hall is vacant save for the two of them. His eyes are cast anywhere but her face to avoid showing emotion.
“Granny wasn’t doing well when I left her.” He admits. Momo’s eyes become wide and filled with worry.
“As it turns out, I’ve been… suffocating her with my… immense spiritual pressure. I wake up every morning and the room is just… coated in a layer of ice... I suppose I didn’t have any other choice than to come here and learn to control the powers inside me.” Hinamori nods, and once again, draws him back into a hug. Normally, he’d resist, but right about now, Hitsugaya realized she was just what he needed.
“You made the right decision.” She tells him before lowering her voice and saying, “I really missed you.” His eyes widened a bit, he had never heard her sound so… wanton. He shakes it off, just happy to be in her orbit once again, and rests his hand on her head, hugging her back.
“Yeah, I guess I kinda missed you too.”
They both chuckle softly, seemingly lost in a world of their own. Toshiro allows her to rest her head against him for a few more moments before slowly taking a step back and taking a hold of her shoulders again. He can tell she’s exhausted, that she’s been training extra hard lately in preparation for their final exams, which, unbeknownst to her, he’d be taking the exams alongside her as a prodigy student who was able to skip a few years due to his raw talent.
“You need to know,” He takes on a more earnest tone.
“If you’re ever in trouble, I’m going to do everything in my ability to help you. I won’t ever leave you alone or let anyone hurt you, okay?” Hitsugaya looks deep into her eyes, a serious and concerned expression on his face. She frowns at him a little and uses her thumbs to try and smooth out his eyebrows.
“Okay… the same goes for you, you know… you’re so serious, Shiro. Lighten up a little.”
I’m sure that’s what you’d tell me right about now.
“Lighten up, Toshiro.”
The things I’d do to hear your voice again… and yet, how am I supposed to face you? I’ve let you down. I wasn’t strong enough to protect you. How can I tell her that her idol and mentor has left for good? And that he is now our sworn enemy?
He walked out of the meeting hall to see Rangiku waiting for him, her back against the wall and her arms crossed over her chest. She looked up when she heard the doors open and her eyes glistened.
“Oh, Captaaaain~What took you so looong~” She sang, skipping towards him.
“Matsumoto,” He started, striding up to her.
“I need your help with something... “ He looked around and spoke to her quietly.
“Are you willing to break some rules?” He asked. Rangiku froze, narrowing her eyes at him. Her captain raised an eyebrow back at her.
“... Well?” He badgered when she didn’t answer.
“You? Break the rules?” Her serious expression couldn’t have held up another five seconds before she started to break down in hysterical laughter. Toshiro rolled his eyes.
“You--AHAHAHAHAHAH, y-you want me… to help YOU--” Before she could finish and incriminate the both of them, he slapped his hand over her mouth. She stopped laughing.
“Come on. Not here.” He said frigidly, flash-stepping out of sight.
Rangiku sighed.
“This damn boy..”

Chapter 31: The Sands of Time & Family
The next morning, with one more day left to go until the wedding. Twilight and Spike wake up to once again deactivate all their security measures. Before getting to doing something they mutually agreed was best for the day: More spirit summons for friends who’d like to see any deceased that they miss dearly. Pear Butter, Bright Mac, and Sunset had all returned to the soul shield last night. Though they will be summoned back down for the Wedding tomorrow.
Spike gets the idea of finding Fluttershy to let her see many of the deceased spirits of her many pets over the years. They in fact find Fluttershy at the cottage, and kinda suspecting she knows what they’re visiting for. She grins and gets Twilight and Spike to follow her to her pet cemetery. Soon, Fluttershy surrounds herself with many of the small spirits of her beloved pets from the years as an animal caretaker. Pets of all kinds that are more then happy to see the pony that took care of them, in some cases, their entire lives.
Tumblr media
Fluttershy quickly in deep bliss as she gets nuzzles, and affection from the spirits of the animals she’s had to bury. Even Mr. Mousey gets to have a reunion with his family. As a spirit he’s even standing up again rather then be in his wheelchair-bound state, as he hugs his wife and grown-up son. She even brings many of them back to see her currently living animals. Both living and spirit animals come across and each other, both kinda confused when some of them can’t touch the others. Though there are some that recognize each other, as well as of course other animal families that Fluttershy’s taken care of aside from Mr. Mousey’s that can.
Twilight and Spike tell Fluttershy they can let Fluttershy spend time with her many animal spirits for the rest of the day while they head elsewhere. Fluttershy does express a little concern about what she was told about the shield having less protection with too many spirits summoned. Though Twilight assures her by saying the size of the spirit matters more then the number of spirits summoned. So it’s actually pretty safe to summon down many of the smaller animals where is it’s summoning full-grown dragons that brings out the most risk. So as long as the collective size of the spirits aren’t bigger then 2 full grown dragons. It should be relatively safe to have the many spirits down here (Though just for the sake of safety they may also try to not make sure it the amount isn’t bigger then one dragon spirit too)
They bid adieu to Fluttershy to spend the day with animals both living and the deceased brought back as spirits. Their next stop is to see Pinkie and her Family to see Granny Pie.
Pinkie hasn’t really mentioned Granny Pie a lot since mentioning her while they were walking through the everfree to confront Nightmare Moon. But Granny Pie had died sometime before the Elements all collectively met.
Once Granny Pie was summoned down it became pretty obvious now where Pinkie got her personality and probably even somewhat color. Granny Pie was of a bit duller Pink then Pinkie was, but even as the old timer she was pretty bouncy. Pinkie’s Parents as well as Maud, Marble all welcome back their grandmother. Limestone at first tries to pretend she didn’t miss Granny Pie, but moments later she loses composure and it turns out she missed Granny Pie the most of all the Pie sisters. Outright tearing heavily as she hugs her grandmother.
Granny Pie also gets to meet Maud and Pinkie’s special someponies Mud Briar and Cheese Sandwich. Quickly seeing how each are much like the granddaughters they’re dating.
Pinkie Pie and Granny then do a sort of reprise of Giggle at the Ghostly, but this time around change the lyrics around a bit.
((To the tune of the Giggle at the Ghostly/Laughter Song))
Pinkie Pie & Granny Pie: Giggle with the ghostly!
Guffaw with your granny!
Clap with the cemetery!
Whoop it up with the wispy!
Laughing at the Reaper!
Snortle with the spiritually!
As with Fluttershy and her animals, Twilight & Spike let Pinkie and her family spend much of the rest of the day with Granny Pie as she moves on to the next ponies she wants to help.
She goes to gather the Pillars of Equestria to see many of their friends from before they went into Limbo. Somnambula having already seen the miracle of spirit summoning when they were seeing Jinn backs up that Twilight’s spirit summoning is real. Starswirl seeing his old apprentice Clover the Clever, Mistmane sees Sable Spirit, Meadowbrook sees her mother, Flash Magnus sees all his squad, while Somnambula and Rockhoof meet friends from their villages. Twilight herself being kind of excited herself for being able to talk to those from more then 1000 years ago to get some more personal account of what it was like then aside from the many times she’s already asked the pillars themselves about then. Though most of all the pillars of Equestria are just thankful to Twilight and Spike for discovering this.
Next, Twilight and Spike meet up with Celestia and Luna and give them a chance to many ponies that were staffers or guards that became so loyal and trusted that they became personal friends with the sisters. Luna seeing many of her friends that been left behind when she turned to the darkside when she became Nightmare Moon and got sent to the moon. Luna showing she’s back to normal, with her old friends thankful for it.
In some time, all the spirits hear that Celestia and Luna are retiring soon to make way for Twilight. And all of them have grateful words for the sisters to wish them well in their retirement. Both Celestia and Luna can hardly hold back tears as they smile with the words they receive from the support of those who dedicated their lives to supporting one or both of the two sisters. Some of them also wish luck on Twilight as she succeeds into their role. Unlike the others though, Twilight and Spike send them back sometime later as Celestia and Luna do a few more royal duties that day. Though they tell their former staffers and guards there will be much more time to see them if they happen to come by or go see Spike in their retirement. All of them understand and let Spike send them back to the soul shield.
From there, only one more was on Twilight and Spike’s mind: Malakhar & Kubuya, so they can summon Hisan Minat, Malakhar’s grandfather. They quickly get back to Saddle Arabia through the gum portal and the couple getting married having both seen spirit summoning early in the day yesterday understand what Twilight and Spike are here to do. They go into Malakhar’s and Kubuya’s room in the palace.
Twilight: You ready to see your Grandfather again, Malakhar?
Malakhar: Of course
Twilight: Sorry if me and Spike didn’t get here sooner. We had… a lot happen in regards to seeing Applejack’s parents for the first time… and Starlight’s Mother as well.
Malakhar: Oh, Starlight Glimmer’s mother is deceased too?
Twilight: Yeah, but finding out that was only the tip of the iceberg of the twists given she was also Sunset Shimmer. who was Princess Celestia’s protege before me.
Malakhar: Sunset Shimmer… I feel like I’ve heard that name before. But I must of only been a little colt at the time. Maybe it was during a random visit from Celestia. Don’t think I saw Sunset herself, just passing mention that she and Celestia were at the palace.
Twilight: Another part of it is that Sunset went missing about 2 weeks after she gave birth to Starlight and thus Starlight never found out who she was. As it turned out she died not anymore then 3 weeks after the birth of Starlight.
Kubuya: That’s so sad…
Malakhar: I definitely understand summoning both Applejack’s parents and Starlight’s mother first. I had my Grandfather for a good portion of my life. Applejack lost both of her parents when she was only a filly, and as you just said Starlight never got to meet her mother until yesterday. Both very noble uses of spirit summoning.
Twilight: I can tell you everything that happened with both Applejack’s parents and Sunset later, as it’s probably best we get to seeing your grandfather soon. Besides, they will probably be summoned to attend your wedding so you two will get to meet them yourselves!
Kubuya: Wow, we’re getting spirit guests, ay?
Malakhar: That will be really cool, heck… if he says yes, we can get my Grandfather there too to see us getting wed.
Twilight: Mmhmm, now how about we get going. Malakhar, we only need your hoof to make this work. You know what to do from there.
Malakhar: Got it!
Malakhar approaches close to Spike to touch the Dragon’s Tear, closes his eyes, takes a deep breath, and begins to mentally message his grandfather.
Malakhar: (Hello Grandpa, this is your grandson Malakhar. I have seen Princess Twilight’s son Spike summon down spirits more then once by now. And now it’s your turn. I can’t wait to see you again. You should see that I accomplished your dying wish with your own eyes, and I would like you to meet the mare who will be my beautiful wife starting tomorrow…)
Tumblr media
Malakhar finishes, and now it was up to Spike to complete it. Focusing one more time, the Dragon Tear once again starts glowing. And within a few moments, another pony-sized comet comes into the room from the open window. Everyone in the room has seen it at least more then once, so no more surprised looks just awaiting for the comet to shift into a glowing sphere and forming into the shape of Malakhar’s grandfather.
Hisan Manat fully fades in, and he looks around.
Hisan Manat: Say, this is the palace isn’t it?
Malakhar just walks up and hugs his old grandfather.
Hisan: Whoa! You’ve grown so big, Malakhar!  If I weren’t a spirit, I’d be afraid of you cracking some bones!
Both Malakhar and Hisan just laugh.
Malakhar: I’ve missed you so much, Grandpa...
Hisan: I’ve missed you from up there as well…
Hisan turns toward Twilight, noticing of course the genie attire and of course she was Twilight Sparkle, the Element of Magic that he asked Malakhar to genify.
Hisan: Greetings, Princess Twilight. It’s nice to personally meet you, I’m well aware that Malakhar succeeded in genifying you even from up there. Giving many of us spirits usually get at least some of the bigger current events told. But it is nice to see the attire up close to be absolutely sure it happened. Thank you Malakhar for fulfilling my last wish. Though back to you, Twilight… you feeling good about being a genie thus far?
Twilight: Well… by now I’ve generally accepted being a genie as part of my identity by now. After all, there are a few major parts of my identity that are younger then being a genie. Such as being a princess, and Spike’s mother. Though I will admit, it is a little awkward seeing you now.
Hisan: Awkward? In what way?
Twilight: You were the one who made Malakhar’s mission to specifically genify me, correct?
Hisan: Yes… my very last words were “Please, genify the Element of Magic” before my soul left my body
Twilight: I don’t want to concern you too much, as I know how important it was given it was your dying wish and all… at the same time though it doesn’t feel right to really… thank you for it… given I was sort of tricked into being a genie…
Hisan: t-t-Tricked?!
Malakhar suddenly has a very nervous face
Twilight: Malakhar told me to do the instructions requiring to genify a pony… but without informing me what would happen if I did…
Hisan gives his grandson a stern face
Hisan: Malakhar… what were you thinking?! You could of blown the one shot you had with that Dragon’s Tear!
Malakhar: I’m… sorry… Grandpa… I didn’t think Twilight was going to agree easily, if I had just went up and said “Hey Twilight, would you like to be a genie?”
Twilight: To be fair, Hisan… if Malakhar had said something akin to that... I might of thought he was insane and walked out. As at the time, I thought Genies were only myths.
Hisan calms down a bit, though still has a suggestion to Malakhar that might of made getting Twilight to try being a genie a little smoother then.
Hisan: I guess you might of been more aware that Twilight’s more logically thinking, so perhaps you’re right that saying you can transform her into a genie would of left her skeptical.
But perhaps you could have also at the same time told Twilight about the 3 day time limit to get freed immediately… before you genified her anyway. You also could have warned that part of the process is the bottle is the entire body slowly funneled into the bottle. Even if Twilight was skeptical, at least she was forewarned, and told that it would be easily reversible if it didn’t work out.
Twilight puts a hoof under her chin
Twilight: Heh, I guess I might of been still skeptical, yet curious if that’s how it went down. I might of even joked by saying something like “You seriously think that bottle’s going to fit me in?” and I might of chosen to humor the notion by giving it a try.
And then it would be sort of my fault that I had that somewhat terrifying moment of being sucked in the bottle for the first time. I’d be humbled by being proven wrong and not angry as I was.... or well maybe I would of still been a little peeved... but more at myself then at Malakhar.
Maybe I even wouldn’t have immediately asked to get wished out of it to try out being a genie for a little while thanks to knowing about the time limit. I don’t know if I would of stayed a genie in that scenario… but it would of at least been a better first impression...
Malakhar: Yeah… that does sound like that probably would of been a smarter plan in hindsight. If only you had lived long enough to see Twilight on her first time here. You might of gotten Twilight to potentially stay a genie whether or not Spike was there.
Spike: I don’t know if she would of said stayed one if I wasn’t there. After all, it was I who turned her opinion around despite her being angry at Malakhar the time. Though to be fair, it probably would of been a lot easier for me to convince her to stay one… if she had a better first impression of becoming a genie.
Hisan is rather intrigued.
Hisan: You convinced Twilight to stay a genie despite her being angry? Tell me more!
((Story continues after the break))
Spike: I guess first of all Malakhar in part didn’t tell Twilight how to get back to normal as otherwise if he did… Twilight would of surely done so immediately. He told us to find a book at a nearby library to explain how being a genie works. We eventually got to reading the book, but not before Twilight discovered the first perk of being a genie... that being getting out of her bottle is always an enjoyable feeling. Sort of cheering her up, as we learned more and more about how genies worked... Twilight actually started to get curious about the kind of things she can do now as a genie that would of been impossible as a unicorn and quite frankly impossible as an Alicorn too. Enough so as to actually decide to try it a little longer even after hearing how to get back to normal.
Learning about the time limit brought back some tension however, as Twilight couldn’t have known at the time she was going to become an Alicorn that can’t die from aging… I really wanted Twilight to stay a genie myself since it would mean she would be around for at least a good amount of my life, though I understood that outliving her friends and family was still a big con. I told Twilight that I’d respect her decision even if obviously one might of saddened me more then the other. Obviously in retrospect even if she had said no, then the whole Alicorn thing would of still made it possible… though then it would have overrided Twilight’s decision to remain mortal. Becoming a genie just turned out to be the time where Twilight was first asked if she wanted to be there for me longer then for a normal pony’s lifespan.
Perhaps… this is when my birth mother’s desire for the perfect mother started to accelerate being granted as it subtly influenced Twilight’s mind. As the desire was dormant within Twilight’s mind the moment she hatched me. The desire wanted just the right conditions that would result in Twilight to be a good mother for me, and making Twilight wanting to be my mother as early as a filly would of been way too early. So it waited, occasionally picking up at moments that would grow our relationship slowly into a motherly bond. Such as telling me that she’d never send me away when that was the fear I had when we faced Sombra’s fear door...
Twilight: Huh… could a desire from a Dragon’s Tear really work like that… at the very least it did do it in a way where it felt earnest, I could not tell at all if it was something dormant in my mind… I never felt like I was ever going to say or do something otherwise before something changed my mind… I don’t feel like I was slowly hypnotized into eventually considering myself your mother.
Hisan smiles
Hisan: When a Dragon’s Tear is not being used to make genies, a desire said into one mostly waits and looks for the nearest living being that’ll best either help get the desire done or even grant it entirely. Spike’s actually wrong that it just laid dormant and picked up every now and then. That was actual honest feelings you felt as you spent time with Spike. It didn’t make you choose to stay a genie, that was still your decision in the end. You ultimately became Spike’s mother on your own will. The desire just knew ahead of time you would agree to get a longer lifespan or even become immortal if it meant you could take care of Spike longer somehow. I don’t know how, but it did.
Twilight: That’s actually a pretty big relief… I was scared for a moment hearing that last part of what Spike said that this might have implied my motherly bond was never genuine...
I imagine though it makes sense that it was still my decision because I don’t think me becoming a genie was what the desire was accounting for… because another part of it was the Perfect Mother desire wasn’t the only desire connected to me... as it was entwined with Celestia’s own desires in looking for a successor. It was accounting for the fact that I would one day become an Alicorn.
Hisan: Perhaps, though given you didn’t know at the time you’d become an Alicorn. Becoming a genie sort of started granting the desire early. You would of probably ending up adopting Spike either way, but being faced with the choice to become a genie accelerated you and Spike’s realization, cause at that point it was the only thing you knew that would allow you to live longer.
So it was ultimately your special bond that saved my dream of at least having one genie around. So thanks both of you, and probably Celestia, as well as Spike’s birth mother too. The threads of life all connecting like this is most amazing.
Twilight: You’re welco… or well, I don’t know if your welcome is the right words. As it’s not like our direction our lives took was all for you. But I guess it still managed to conveniently fulfill your dying wish.
Speaking of dying though, a good thing about discovering Spirit summoning is it really nerfs the biggest concern I had about becoming a genie. I’ll be able to see and talk with friends and family even long after they’re gone just like how we’re seeing you now.
Hisan: That is true, not even the genies of old had that luxury, so it was always a reason why it was a bit of a tough sell. As there were often plenty of ponies that many of me and Malakhar’s ancestors thought would make good genies, but due to being modest as part of the criteria many of them so modest to ever accept the idea of far outliving their friends and/or family. They’d usually need more of an actual reason to live so long,
Twilight: And I guess… having a dragon that would become my adopted son was mine.
Hisan: Indeed! It’s also true that one day if we get a good amount of Dragon Tears around, the existence of spirit summoning will lessen the concerns about that. So perhaps some day soon even if that’s still decades or centuries from happening. We’ll have genies back in a big way. Of course, you’re capable of genifying others if they wish for it too, Twilight. Though I assume you have a good reason why you haven’t
Twilight: Yeah… I’m being careful. I at least like using something like the genie simulation where they feel what it’s like to be genies but have none of the magical power. And most who would want to wish be a real genie is kind of suspicious, because they might have an ulterior motive.
Which is why I’d rather trust Malakhar if he ever decided to try to find the next genie. After all, it’s your family that’s been vetting potential genies for generations.
Hisan just claps
Hisan: I knew you’d be careful, I did right by telling Malakhar to genify you, you were the best choice out of the elements just because I knew you’d think before making your wishes. In the right setting, some of you other friends might of made good genies. But there was at least one big concern about each of them.
Twilight: I myself have kind of figured that myself too. Applejack is a little bit magic-averse, Rainbow Dash couldn’t be a Wonderbolt and a Genie, while Rarity would be a consideration… she has a career, plus I’m unsure if she’d like the whole bottle thing. Fluttershy at least early on might of come with fears of her kindness granting wishes when she doesn’t even know if she’s being used by someone with ulterior motives, and Pinkie Pie… is Pinkie Pie.
Hisan nods
Hisan: I agree maybe Rarity might have been the next best choice. But I had only one Dragon Tear, and it felt appropriate to genify you as you’re known to be a fair bit more modest then Rarity is. Not that Rarity would be too vain, but she probably would of used some of her power for some degree of personal luxury where as I suspected you would put more thought into all you do as a genie.
Twilight nods herself, and smiles
Twilight: Thank you, Hisan. It’s been quite an interesting conversation. Glad I got a little insight into all this genie stuff from you. It probably would have been more valuable to me if you there when I was first genified. I would of certainly gotten a quicker understanding. I now know why Malakhar always held you in such high regard.
Hisan: I want to give some thanks myself in return, I’m glad I got to see that I did right with asking Malakhar to genify you in more ways then one. You’re exactly the genie I hoped you would be.
Hisan looks around the room and takes a look at Kubuya who’s been generally silent the whole time.
Hisan: Hey, Malakhar. Who’s the other mare here?
Malakhar: Oh that’s right… ahem… Grandpa… I’d like you to meet Kubuya Atka. Who will be my lovely wife starting tomorrow.
Hisan gasps, but quickly smiles for his grandson.
Hisan: That’s great news Malakhar, congratulations on your coming wedding!
As Hisan looks closer at Malakhar’s soon-to-be wife. As Kubuya just gently waves with a sheepish grin.
Hisan: Say… I feel like I’ve seen you before actually… you were a lot younger then likely, and I don’t think I ever got your name before today… but I definitely feel like I recognize you…
Kubuya: Really? I must admit… I’m not sure I remember ever meeting you…
Hisan: It’s understandable, you were only in your teens. But I remember seeing a young mare of your color scheme working at the library while I was there. We likely never met because I was just a random occasional customer.
Kubuya: Ah yeah, I didn’t quite start getting check-out desk duties there until real close to adulthood. I just sorted books or assisted my boss until I eventually got promoted.
Hasan: I also remember you, because of your cutie mark
Kubuya: Huh, my cutie Mark? Surely you just thought it was just a bookmark, right?
Kubuya looks at her flank
Hisan: It is a bookmark. But the flower on said mark is distinct in your family’s lineage isn’t it?
Kubuya: Well, yeah… it is… since I’m a descendent of Jinn’s. But why are you mentioning this.
Hisan: Because… say I had never thought about genifying an Element of Harmony. And if I had lived sometime longer then I did, I may have tried to recruit you as the one genie.
Kubuya: Wait… really?!
Hisan: It would of been a decent amount of years before I did it, and I would of still had to make sure you had the temperament and were willing to become one but yes. I had thought at one point that perhaps a descendent of Jinn may be the best choice to have the first genie in so long. But you were too young, and I heard of the news of the Elements of Harmony that would make Twilight Plan A, and shortly afterward I died before it could happen. Plus, I never told Malakhar about you beforehand because I wanted him to focus on Twilight as soon as it became obvious I wasn’t going to live much longer.
Kubuya: Well… I’m kind of flattered you considered to make me a genie at some point. I’m not sure if I would of made the criteria, or how exactly I would of felt about being asked…  but I probably would of at least considered it. Though I’m getting married tomorrow, so it’s definitely a little too late.
I’m aware that some genies in the distant past have wedded mortals long in the past. Though if they wanted children,  they had to magically switch genders with their special somepony, or find some other way to incubate the foal since the foal is never born a genie.
Hisan: Don’t worry, I wasn’t going to ask if you’d like to be a genie now as I’m aware it’s best you stay as you are if you do indeed plan to be wedded tomorrow and have children.
Malakhar: Speaking of having children, Me and Kubuya did talk at one point of possibly having a child of ours become a genie. Though we agreed we’d make sure we raise them well and see if they find interest in being one themselves when they grow up to adulthood.
Twilight: You two want your child to be the next genie?
Kubuya: We’d be proud to be the parents of the next genie. But we do want make sure that’s what they want first. There’s so many intricacies that we have to think about it in regards to both our future child’s personality, how well we take care of them, and/or if they find themselves with goals in which becoming a genie might be detrimental to.
Malakhar: We’d need either another Dragon’s Tear… in which the only one we have on hoof is Spike’s, but its found a better use in summoning spirits. Or we could ask you to genify the next one through a wish should we not have another Dragon’s Tear show up within the time.
Twilight: I’d be willing to help out if you truly believe you found a good choice for the next Genie whether it’s a grown-up child of yours or somepony else here. As it’d probably be nice to have a fellow genie friend here and living in Saddle Arabia. Though either way, we might be speaking too soon.
Hisan: We have lots of time before we get anywhere near there. Just focus on the wedding tomorrow, and go from there.
Malakhar: Oh right…  Grandpa, we actually wanted to ask if you’d be willing to be summoned back down tomorrow to see us getting wed. It’d be great to have you there.
Hisan smiles
Hisan: Nothing would make happier, I would love to be there.
Malakhar: Thank you, Grandpa.
Hisan: Will your mother and my son/your father be there too?
Malakhar: Yeah
Hisan: Probably would be good to see them myself again too
Twilight: Huh, I don’t think I ever met your parents Malakhar. Hope there wasn’t a big reason for that…
Malakhar: Nah, I still love my parents. I’m just not quite as close with them as I was with my Grandfather. My father wasn’t as much into pottery or the whole genies thing, since my grandfather’s obsession was a little much for him growing up. But I got interested enough that I sort of became the son that he hoped my father would be. My mother’s really nice, but there wasn’t really ever a reason to mention her In the time I’ve seen you, there just was never a relevant time to talk about them.
Twilight: Ah, I see. Well, regardless I can’t wait for the wedding. It’ll be nice to end this roller coaster of emotions these past few days with a happy matrimony.
The rest of the room nods, as they continue talking. Elsewhere in the palace though, the Sultana has taken today as an opportunity to get to know Moondancer and has been giving her a tour of the palace similar to the one she gave the Elements while Twilight had a meeting. Both the Sultan and Sultana first met with Moondancer as Twilight and the others spent time in Equestria seeing Applejack’s Parents and/or Sunset Shimmer, the royals quickly embracing her as their son’s special somepony.
Moondancer: Thank you so much for this wonderful tour, miss Sultana.
Sultana Elona: Please, call me Elona.
Moondancer: Oh! Then… thank you… Elona. You have some excellent displays in the Palace. When I’m living here, I can’t wait to be able to take my time and examine everything here.
Sultana Elona: And we can’t wait to have you around the palace, both me and the Sultan have already taken a liking to you. And seeing how happy you and our son is very heartwarming.
Moondancer: I’m glad to know all of you are so nice, I was sort of scared before the ball that like Rarity before one of the Grand Galloping Galas that Twilight went to, I’d have my hopes up meeting a prince only for them to be too stuck up or his parents were going to disapprove of me being a commoner. and a foreign one at that...
The Sultana smiles
Sultana Elona: I assure you that we have no such problems with either. I’m native here, but I was once myself only a commoner here in Saddle Arabia. I was a nurse that healed my husband, who was the Prince at the time, from a near-fatal stab wound in the chest. Once he had recovered, he asked me out. And well… the rest is history, as you can see where I am now.
Moondancer: D’awww, that’s so cute… no wonder you referred to the medical section as your favorite part of this tour.
The Sultana just nods
Sultana Elona: Now follow me Moondancer, there is one more stop before our tour is finished.
Moondancer: Okay
The Sultana bring Elona to an end of a hallway, where eventually they come across a large Dragon’s Tear replica
Moondancer: Whoa… this… is this… a full-sized Dragon’s Tear…
Sultana Elona: It’s the full size, though it’s not a real one. Otherwise we certainly would have used it ages ago.
Moondancer: Twilight’s told me a few times about the Dragon’s Tear. I’ve heard how amazing they can be, though I’ve been hearing that just yesterday they have discovered something entirely new about them.
Sultana Elona: Indeed they have, my husband told me all about it. Apparently, Twilight and Spike has learned they’re capable of summoning down spirits of the deceased. They come down in transparent ghostly forms, and we’re free to talk to them and everything.
Moondancer: Say WHAAAAAAAAT?! That’s incredible! I have to catch up with Twilight to hear about all this sometime...
Sultana Elona: Perhaps during Malakhar and Kubuya’s wedding?
Moondancer: Yeah, that sounds like it’d be the perfect time to see her then. If I know Twilight, she’s probably been using the past two days to use the newfound spirit summoning to help out needy friends with those they miss or see any deceased historical figures she can possibly get.
Sultana Elona: Probably! But by the way, this Dragon Tear replica isn’t actually what the last stop is.
Moondancer: Huh? But there’s nothing else here. It’s an entirely dead end…
The Sultana raises an eyebrow and grins
Sultana Elona: Is it really?
The Sultana presses a hidden button. The replica starts moving as the part of the wall with the Dragon Tear replica shifts forward and then starts rotating high up in the air. Revealing a long stair case behind it. Smaller Dragon Tear replicas slowly light up the staircase walls that serve as lights to lead the way.
Moondancer: Whooooooa! A secret passage! Are we going down there?
Sultana Elona: Of course! Follow me!
The Sultana and Moondancer go down the long flight of stands. Once they’ve reached the end, Moondancer looks around and sees… a motherload of bookcases and shelves. She goes wide eyed, with her mouth agape, her glasses nearly slipping off her snoot before she uses a hoof to put them back up.
Moondancer: I… I…. Is… is this… is this the….
Sultana Elona: Royal Library? Yes, yes it is.
Moondancer beams a huge grin and barely can contain her excitement. She starts trotting around making a high-pitched squeal of excitement
Moondancer: EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHEHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Moondancer: This is amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever seen books like this in Canterlot before! I could spend decades… if not my whole lifetime with all of these books here…
Sultana Elona: Many of these books are from the many generation of Royals that lived here. This library was first built by the Sultana that started my husband’s dynasty generations ago. Part of the job of being Sultana is actually to keep this library running, and add whatever the Sultana wishes to do so, as well as pass along knowledge to the next one.
Moondancer: But wait… shouldn’t you have waited… untill at least when me and the Prince got engaged? We only started dating two days ago…
Sultana Elona: Maybe, but I thought it was important to show you this place anyway. We know you’re a bookworm much like Twilight is, and we want you to be as happy as possible here once you have moved. Heck, not even Twilight knows about this room because she’s never here long enough. She can’t stay here long enough to read most of these books, cause she has duties in Equestria.
Obviously she’d be bummed if she saw this place but knows she won’t be able to stay too long to see what’s in here. But if there’s something in here that you’d think would interest Twilight. It’ll be something to tell her personally yourself the next time he comes to Saddle Arabia or at least through the mail.
Moondancer: Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh… Elona… you’re the best… er… potential mother-in-law ever!
Moondancer embraces the Sultana in a big hug
Sultana Elona: You’re very welcome, Moondancer. By the way, this place also has more dancing books that have never been shared to the public. Since they were specific to some Sultanas who were great dancers. I can already tell you’re a better dancer then me, just based of what I saw during the ball. So you’ll certainly get some good use out of them.
Moondancer: Oh yes! That’ll be great to see too! Thank you so much! Is… it ok if I find a few books I want to read for the rest of the day? I promise I won’t stay up all night reading books, as I do intend on being there for Malakhar and Kubuya’s wedding. But I’m eager to see which books I’ll want to check out first.
Sultana Elona: Of course, Moondancer  Feel free to explore to your heart’s content. I have to go though, and I’ll be closing the door, but there will be a button to open the wall again from the other side when you decide you’re done. Ok?
Moondancer: Yes, again… thank you so much. I’ll see you in the morning for the wedding!
Sultana Elona: Seeya at the wedding, Moondancer.
The Sultana goes back up the stairs to leave Moondancer to explore the library. Meanwhile, Twilight and Spike have finished talking with Malakhar and Kubuya. They actually decided to send Hisan back to the soul shield as it was getting late anyhow.
Spike: Soooooo… off to bed before the wedding?
Twilight: Yeah, but first… I have something serious to take care of shortly before we have our happy day at the wedding.
Spike: Cozy Glow’s statue, I take it?
Twilight: Yes… though actually... make that two things…
Spike: Oh… you also mean… him… don’t you…
Spike briefly closes his right eye and places his hand on his eye scar. While Twilight nods.
Twilight: I’ll be right back, Spike. Here take this piece of gum so you can get back to Ponyville.
Spike himself nods and proceeds to himself to Ponyville. Twilight herself goes to Ponyville but close to what Starlight did, specifically went to where the statue of Cozy Glow, Queen Chrysalis, and Lord Tirek are currently petrified. She flies up to the top of the statue where Cozy Glow’s forever frightened face.
Before she met Sunset and learned of Cozy’s past, that face admittedly sort of haunted her. Not much was known about Cozy before her petrification. Cozy Glow at that point was known only as one of Twilight’s students at the Friendship School that seems to have taken the word that Friendship is Magic too literal in that it’s powerful. And there was some sort of feeling that maybe one day they’d let Cozy out soon to attempt to reform her much like they did with Discord.
But after learning about Cozy’s true nature, along with having a huge role in Sunset’s death, being much of the reason Starlight’s life was so hard early on, and how her goal would of ended up in the extinction of all life on the planet. Twilight now looks at Cozy with more contempt then either Chrysalis or Tirek. Twilight carefully takes the petrified Cozy off, and makes a completely separate pocket dimension to carefully place her in. Only Twilight herself will have access to it.
Now Twilight makes another portal, but this time in the Saddle Arabian dungeon. Where former Vicegerent Zathir, the psychopathic pony that hijacked Twilight and her friend’s last visit. There’s a heavy amount of guards here, the captain of which bows before the approaching Twilight though he does wonder why I’m here.
Royal Captain: It is a pleasure to be in your presence, Princess Twilight. But… what are you doing here?
Twilight: I need to make a “special” visit to a certain pony here. Let’s just say, once I’m done you won’t have to worry about feeding him anymore
Royal Captain: Wait… you aren’t going to execute him… are you…?
Twilight: No, I’m not executing him. I understand that would probably be disastrous, given it’d likely release some consequential dark magic onto Saddle Arabia. But you should recall Equestria has had ways to deal mostly permanently with threats that aren’t likely to be reformed soon.
I will also be taking him to a pocket dimension where no one will ever reach him ever again.
The Captain nods
Royal Captain: Allow me to take you to his cell
Twilight follows the captain to where Zathir is being held. Even the guards themselves have been kind of gotten tired of having to force-feed each day Zathir so that he stays alive. His entire room confinement is too soft in all parts of the room for him to try to kill himself by banging his head, and his hooves are tied down by a straight jacket.. He’s also muzzled. When the guards need to feed him, their strongest hold him down, so he can’t bite to tear the wall until finding a hard enough surface.
Royal Captain: Here it is, do what you will.
Twilight: Thank you, Captain.
Twilight teleports into Zathir’s cell. Startling the disgraced criminal. Zathir’s voice can still be heard though it’s still somewhat muffled by the muzzle
Zathir: Wha… Twilight… what do you think you’re doing here? Are you going to join in on the guards constant torture of reminding me of my failure…
Twilight: Not really, I’m actually here to… let’s just say… change your sentence…
Zathir raises an eyebrow
Zathir: I’d be most grateful to a genie for the first time in my life if it was the sweet release of death… but I have a feeling you’re not going to be that merciful… are you…
Twilight: Actually, I’m sort of… getting you out of here…
Zathir goes wide-eyed
Zathir: Wait… you’re… pardoning me?
Twilight: Nah, it’s not a pardon either.
Zathir is utterly confused
Zathir: Just what in the world are you planning…
Twilight smugly grins
Twilight: You could say… I’m granting you immortality… the once proud Vicegerent Zathir’s legacy... completely... set... in... stone...
Zathir: Wait… no… please…
Twilight zaps Zathir with magic that petrifies him from the hind hooves reflexively making him stand as the stone petrifies more of his body
Zathir: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooommmppppppppphhhh!
Zathir now’s affixed in stone with his look of horror as he realized Twilight’s making it so he can never die. Twilight once again pulls up the pocket dimension where she put Cozy, and levitates Zathir’s petrified body into it. She then teleports out of the cell with a satisfied face, where the Royal Guard captain is waiting.
Royal Captain: Has the deed been done?
Twilight nods
Twilight: Mmhmm, the guards here no longer need to worry about keeping Zathir alive. And you’ll have no need to fear a death with consequences of dark magic toward Saddle Arabia.
Royal Captain: Thank you, Princess
The Royal Captain and Twilight salute each other before Twilight heads back to Ponyville. Even with Zathir all taken care of, she puts up the protection spells in the castle once again. So they can rest easily before Malakhar and Kubuya’s wedding tomorrow.
