I find it interesting to go back and look at some of the old stuff. Here's another unpublished one from the early archives. This piece hasn't had any editing at all - it's just the raw file and my watermark. Funny how the themes across my art haven't really changed all that much in a year!
This one was originally made in March 2024.

My GOD the Grand Staircase is terrifying!
(The Back Stage ep 4 - Stage Machinery)
The first appearance of a staircase in Takarazuka was in 1927, in Japan's first revue show "Mon Paris". This first staircase had only 16 steps. In 1957, when "Mon Paris" was restaged, the wooden staircase had grown to 30 steps. And in 1958, it reached all the way to the ceiling of the stage, and they changed it to a system with electrical effects. In 1973, it evolved to a frame using light metals to help with the weight.
The current Grand Staircase is 4.42 meters tall, 7 meters deep, 14.6 meters wide in the front and 10.9 meters wide in the back. There are 26 steps. The steps are 23 cm deep. The 10th step from the bottom is where the spotlight lights up the stars.
