But, for real, do you give a shit about real live Jews? Do you care about the violent antisemitism they face? Do you care about their physical and mental well-being?
OR do you only care about "antisemitism" when it's calling a piece of media out for being "antisemitic?"

Maybe it’s a softball question, but I’d sure love to read an answer to “are dybbuk boxes actually Jewish?”. I know those things are still being sold on places like Etsy and eBay to this day.
Rating: Not Jewish
No, Dybbuk boxes are not real, they are misappropriations of Jewish spirituality and superstition. Dybbukim are a real concept in Judaism, they're a type of demon that clings to things, particularly people. "Dybbuk" comes from the Hebrew word of "Debek", which means "cling to".
However, Dybbuk boxes specifically are not a Jewish thing. They all originate from a hoax concocted in 2003 by Kevin Mannis, who exploited the Holocaust to sell his lie. His success has led to more people trying to cash in on his success on eBay and the like.
Here is an in-depth explanation of the situation by Jewitches:

the scariest thing about the current state of zionism discourse (which should have never left the jewish community, as it is a jewish discussion to be had) is that so many leftists have been radicalized with literal nazi ideology and do not even realize it. if you say you want all zionists dead (which can only mean you want an overwhelming number of jews dead) you will get hundreds of thousands of notes with people agreeing and cheering for the death of zionists jews. you want jews to die. saying it’s zionists instead of jews does not change that zionists are, and can only be, jewish.

Just a reminder that Valentine's Day isn't a secular holiday and that there should never be any expectation to celebrate any non-secular holidays.
Keep non-secular holidays out of popular culture expectations.
(Regardless of how you think about it or celebrate it, Valentine's Day did not have secular origins, making it an inherently non-secular holiday.)

Guys guys guys (especially you American Jewish guys) read this and try to guess who wrote it!
Tumblr media
Was it… Eylon Levi? AIPAC? Your local rabbi?
Nope!
This is straight from the National Union for Democracy in Iran (NUFDI) website. They are a non-partisan, non-profit group of Iranian Americans working to achieve secular democracy in Iran (that means no to the IR and no to the MEK too).
I highly recommend you check out their Instagram, YouTube, etc to show support.
And, as always, let Kamala Harris your local representatives know you want to see more of NUFDI and way less of NIAC (booo NIAC tomatoes boo).

Things I’ve learned from tumblr today:
1. Kate Pryde is black now
2. Ben Shapiro is apparently the governor of Pennsylvania. He’s presumably also a journalist for NPR
3. The literal most important consequence of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is actually Pokémon
4. A lot more people are pissing on the poor than you might expect…

I think y’all don’t realize how insulting it is as a descendant of pogrom refugees and Shoah victims to constantly hear Hitler analogies to such and such fictional blorbo. I don’t think you get to constantly compare shit to Hitler when you don’t even call out the antisemitism happening all around you! You don’t care when your friends repeat nazi talking points. You don’t care about Jewish suffering. You don’t care when I ask you to care. You don’t see it and you tell me I’m crazy for noticing! I have to live with this trauma of the literal holocaust every day. You know nothing of nazis and the things they did to us. And antisemitism doesn’t end there but you care more about fandom drama instead.

Got blocked by a blog I was following and for the most part enjoyed after I saw them post something antisemitic and 1. Explained how it was antisemitic 2. Asked them to maybe not spread insane blood libel.
I love this website. What a beautiful, constructive, and inclusive culture it has built 🙃. I love having to constantly stay on my toes that any blog that isn't explicitly pro-jewish will very likely snap at me for the slightest nudge or suggestion.

HAPPY goyishe Purim, everybody!
ID: A Jewish man in a baseball cap (Eitan Levine, eitanthegoalie on Instagram) speaks to the camera in front of an image of three cutesy ghost decorations; throughout the video, the background changes to match what he is talking about: "merry GOYISHE Purim everybody. HAPPY Halloween! The holiday is around the corner. I hope everyone has their costumes picked out and they're getting ready to go trick-or-treat and just scare the local old people. Aside from going door to door begging for candy, the biggest thing about Halloween is obviously the monsters. But did you know that a lot of the monsters that are synonymous with Halloween have Jewish origins? The scene from Monster Mash is basically a Chabad House. Let's go.
"Let's talk about it first off werewolves. As we all know, werewolves get bar mitzvahs, they're spooky, they're scary, it's boys becoming men, it's men becoming wolves. But also, because of the connection to the lunar calendar, Jews tend to refer to other Jews throughout literature as werewolves. Rabbi Ephraim ben Shimshom literally used it to describe Jacob's son Benjamin as a werewolf. Do you know the guy that wrote The Golem wrote another play called The Wolf that described the rabbi who turned into a werewolf? Also the American Werewolf in London is a grad student named David Kessler. JEW.
"Then there's the goblins, I don't gotta get into it but JK Rowling, you think we're blind?! You think that putting these guys in charge of the banks wasn't an issue?! Are you [sputters] insane?
"Then there's vampires, which was a myth that was believed in the Middle Ages around the time of the bubonic plague. And let me tell you, you--we know who they blamed the bubonic plague on, and it wasn't the Catholics. Vampires' whole thing was drinking blood, which was an homage to the blood libel where Jews were blamed for stealing Christian baby blood.
Anyways happy goyishe Purim." End ID]

Me 97% of the time: the concept of Jews running the banks or money is a deeply antisemetic stereotype so popularized many people don’t even understand or acknowledge the antisemitism under it. I don’t give into that, and avoid those types of stereotypes because they harm a community I am so proudly a part of.
Me playing Dreidel: Nyehehehe give me all the gelt. IT IS MINE I WANT THE SHINEY GOLD MONEY.
Me playing Monopoly: I WILL OWN EVERY PROPERTY AND GET ALL THE MONEY. IT IS RIGHTFULLY MINE BC IM JEWISH SO GIVE IT!
