when you're a Jew online
and you're trying to have a conversation with a gentile
and then they start to goysplain the I/P conflict at you
and they quote someone who vocally supports JVP
and you know that that JVP is a DEEPLY antisemitic organization (they're a mixed group of Jews and goyim, but yes, Jews can be antisemtic too). JVP has amplified the voices of Neo-Nazis, they have REPEATEDLY targeted and harassed religious Jews (including queer religious Jews, and Jews attending synagogue), and they have been called out REPEATEDLY by the Anti-Defamation League for harassing Jews, invoking the antisemitic "blood libel" canard, and most recently supporting Hamas
(seriously, some of you goys will be bamboozled by anything)
(you should ASK A JEW before you start amplifying a group that claims to be "Jewish" but actually uses KKK slurs for Jews, supports Neo-Nazi sympathizers, and tries to uplift Hamas)
..... yeah ... when all that happens...
you know that this probably isn't someone you can deal with right now
because you know this person hasn't done ANYTHING to unpack their antisemtism
and you're too tired to unpack their antisemitism for them
and that's just part of what it means to be a Jew online

Apparently I'm a Nazi genocide supporter because I *gasp* support both Israelis and Palestinians so long as they don't support Hamas/are Hamas! wow I must be a truly awful person! oh no! oh woe is me. how could I possibly think this is a war~~~~ it must be a genocide because Daddy Sinwar said so and we always believe him over ACTUAL PEOPLE LIVING IN GAZA... who were probably killed off very fast by their fucking terrorist government... I am so tired of illiterate people ranting nonsense at me, making me eepy...

yknow what i think it's pretty fucked up that my instinctual reaction to hearing any mention of the holocaust is to brace myself for antisemitic talking points. in discussion about a jewish genocide.
holocaust inversion, universalization, minimalization, and denial are inexcusable in any context, and the fact that they've become this common is appalling on every level.

I know most of this has been said far better by others but holy shit do I need to rant! I find it really sad yet funny how people will still try so hard to claim they aren't antisemitic and then be like"Israel shouldn't exist" that's one of the most bullshit things I've ever heard anyone say, then there's "I hate Zionist" when clearly you don't have the first clue about Zionism, it is simply put: Jewish people wanting a safe place to live, they've always been outcast everywhere so why is it so bad that they'd have their place? they've always been there and always will be in Israel. if you are anti-Zionist you are anti Jew. I've seen people try to claim that Israel started Hamas...?? like? what??no... sis you good?. most people, even now still don't know which river and which sea and it's embarrassing! I know I often come at this topic from a queer lens as I'm gay and trans and not Jewish personally, but honestly I'm scared both for Jewish people, and my fellow queers, Jewish folk I know personally have said to me they don't feel safe I don't feel safe around a lot of people anymore aswell for my queerness, because they claim to be allies... but how can you be my ally when you support Palestine? they fucking hate LGBT+ folk there, we are not welcome there, we would be killed there so to say "I'm an ally" feels so fake to me. to be part of the LGBT and still support that living hell of a place and act as though Israel started this and Palestine only wants peace and freedom? are you mad??! are you insane?? I only feel bad for people who want to be free from Hamas rule. and for the poor children who are raised into thinking Suicide bombing is a good thing and they should do it. not those who willingly support throwing my people off buildings and burn our flags. I will never fucking support Palestine as it is now EVER. if more people started saying free Palestine/Gaza from Hamas that would be a great fucking start. I am so fucking pissed off with some people my fucking lord. and another fucking thing! stop acting like Israel started October 7th! Israelis were murdered over nothing, I watched videos of Hamas shooting and killing people and even dogs. They are monsters they are rapists! you are supporting baby killers! you are supporting the real genocide! NEVER FORGET THE TRUTH OF OCTOBER 7th, because Hamas want to kill us all, Jewish, gay, trans, Queer, non Muslim! they are terrorists, they want to do October 7th over and over and over and over until there are no Jews left! FUCK HAMAS

my trust in goyim is so broken. I don’t think it can ever be repaired. I can’t believe how much people hate Jews for no reason other than we exist and they dislike that.

Since Wiccan is in the MCU now I’d like to remind everyone that he’s gay and Jewish
I mean the gay stuff is obvious he’s in the gay witch show
But he’s also raised Jewish by his reincarnated parents which is neat. Assuming he was reincarnated in the MCU as well and not just adopted or something
The timeline’s kinda off but whatever

leftist goyim when they realize that antiracism & decolonization & unlearning colonial ideas Also means deconstructing their antisemitism & allying & standing in solidarity with the jewish community & genuinely fighting for jewish liberation too:

So here's the thing. Protesting Israel is not inherently antisemitic. But goyim, you HAVE TO acknowledge the antisemitism lurking within the pro-Palestine movement, so you can make it abundantly clear that it is NOT welcome there.
I haven't seen a single person outside of Jewish circles talking about this and it's horrific. You have to let these people know that this isn't ok and will not be tolerated.

justice is meaningless without care, if the thing that drives you to action is hate towards the oppressors rather than care for the oppressed you will not get very far

I don't know if I'm allowed to use the jumblr tag. I'm a goy & whilst I sometimes read jumblr tagged content to understand Jewish perspectives, I have never used the tag before as I'm not Jewish in any way. But I felt I needed to share this.
I am ashamed of my fellow goyim. How can they look at photos of kids who are being held hostage in horrible conditions & mock them so badly? The longer this goes on, the lower these antisemites sink, the more I despair for the future.
If I was Jewish, these past few months would have made me deeply distrustful & disdainful of the average goy. As a goy, I can't blame any Jewish person who feels that way. To many of us are wilfully ignorant bigots who will believe any lie about Jews no matter how easily disproven.
Below is a long rant, feel free to ignore it & stop here. It goes off on tangents.
I wish "lizardmancer" was an isolated case, but this is part of an obvious pattern of virulent modern societal antisemitism that I admit I only noticed since October 7th. Before than I admit I thought it was just Neo-Nazis & some Arab Muslims that still held antisemitic views.
I guess goyische privilege allowed me the ability to not notice until October 7th & the reactions to it in the months since shoved it down our throats. I'm not used to being from the privileged group. I'm a transwoman in a queerphobic area, I'm autistic/ADHD in neurotypical society, I have enough Australian Aboriginal ancestry for bigots to hate me, even if I'm white-passing & am open about that ancestry (also most of my cousins aren't white-passing, acknowledging relation to them implies Aboriginality even if I didn't spell it out like I do).
But I admit, I am privileged compared to Diasporic Jews. I know that even if life became intolerable where I live, I don't have to move far to be safe. I have friends & cousins in safer suburbs. The bigots I deal with don't have the numbers to storm safer communities & society at large would stamp them out if they tried. Even if Queensland fell under the control of transphobic bigots (possible in October 2024), I can move to NSW as we have contacts there. The L/NP won't be able to win the other states again unless they drop the transphobia as transphobia is not popular with the general Australian electorate, even if it does work in some parts of Queensland.
In comparison what can a Diasporic Jew do. Bigots have stormed their communities in the past (see any pogrom in history), so moving to tolerant communities isn't enough. Protesters in recent months regularly target synagogues & Jewish communities. They have made it clear they can walk into communities or isolate them by cutting off routes between them. Wider society hasn't done much to stamp this out. I'm no longer sure that they would even if it escalates to pogrom level violence, which is something I used to be certain was only in the past.
Individual assaults & attacks on Jewish people seem to be ignored by non-Jewish media. I found out about some by Tumblr, & than found the source articles that way as it didn't pop up on my usual news sites.
This reminds of the way non-LGBT media use to ignore murders of transpeople (Brianna Ghey's murder last year would not have even made it to English news as recently as 2010, let alone international) & still does for POC transpeople.
I see all the misinformation, all the libel spread about Jews, many repeating tropes over a millennia old. I use to think we were better than this. Race-based tropes about people of African & East Asian descent are rarer than they once were & basically confined to fringes. We aren't there yet for Australian Aboriginal people, but it seems to be heading in the right direction albeit slower than I would like. But tropes about ethnic Jews are alive & well, & if anything are stronger amongst 20-somethings than the over-50s.
I thought society was in general getting better, & it has for some groups, but clearly not for Jews. I hope that this downturn is temporary & the world wakes up to its horrid treatment of Jews the way the West woke up to its horrid treatment of LGBT people & is waking up to for Neurodivergent people & many non-Jewish ethnic minorities.
I want to believe we goyim can do better. That antisemitism can go back to the fringes like homophobia has & maybe cease to exist altogether like stigma against left-handed people did. But I'm not holding my breath, I've seen too much vile garbage these part four months from my fellow goyim.
Too many of us suck. To every Jewish person who reads this, keep living, don't let these bigots get the best of you. This goy hopes for the best. I hope the surviving hostages are able to return to their families. I hope those who mock them now regret it in the future. I hope that Hamas get grounded into ash & dust, to be replaced by a faction that will be serious about a two-state solution. I hope that the Diaspora can one day live without fear or discrimination.
Am Yisrael Chai, I Stand With Israel.

there's something comical about Heritageposts' "blocklist" of Jewish blogs (on which my blog is listed), which consists entirely of Jews, plus some people who have been vocal allies to the Jewish community on Tumblr. (i love you all!)
Heritageposts is a known antisemite (i blocked them months ago for their explicit Jew-hatred), and they have clearly been collecting the names of Jews who have been speaking up about the tidal wave of Jew-hatred that we've been receiving from antisemites.
any Jew, and any non-Jewish ally, who speaks out loudly enough about antisemitism, Heritageposts adds to their list.
and ... i think this little piss-ant actually believes that a blocklist is going to intimidate a group of Jews into silence!!
honey. please.
we have been dealing with Jew-hatred for over 2000 years. our relatives went through the Holocaust within living memory. we've been slaughtered by the millions and shoved into mass graves.
we have been murdered by Nazis, by Communists, and by everyone in between.
we have just been through another recent pogrom by a group of fucking terrorists (Hamas is not your blorbo, kids!), and we are more united than ever.
we've been through this before, and by much worse than you.
and we are still here. and we are still proudly Jewish. we love being Jews, and we love our Jewish community.
and long after you are gone, when no one even remembers that you existed at all, we will still be here.
we will outlive you.

If you are going to try to tell me that "goy" is a "slur" -- which it's not, it's just the Hebrew/Yiddish word for "someone who isn't Jewish"...
And THEN you're going to tell me that "gentile" is the "proper" term to use...
EVEN THOUGH GENTILE HAS BEEN USED BY GENTILES TO SEGREGATE JEWISH PEOPLE...
Tumblr media
You had BETTER come to me with more than a couple of Tweets where some Christian said being called a "goy" made her feel uncomfortable!
Well, motherfucker, guess how saying "gentile" makes me feel, knowing that it's the word that gentiles used to segregate Jewish people?
If seeing Yiddish words makes you feel uncomfortable, you probably have a problem with Jewish people. And you probably have some Jew-hatred that you need to unpack.
Fuck off, and stop trying to shame Jews for using words that belong to us.

it makes me very sad that I can count on one hand how many of my close friends haven’t 1. spouted misinformation (blood libel really, but when you say “blood libel” around the goyim they start crying) or 2. said something overtly genocidal about Jews in the last few months. i’m really struggling to keep a positive attitude and i’ve found myself isolating from my friends, even the ones who haven’t said anything bad yet, because I don’t want to be around when they do. I just have to keep making excuses for their ignorance, and it’s exhausting. Crazy how none of the “educate yourselves!!!” rhetoric ever applies to Jews and antisemitism-the burden is always on Jews to ensure that we aren’t being slandered or oppressed.

I am from the same country & region as Drew Pavlou (he's from Brisbane proper (the actual LGA), I live on the outer edge of the Brisbane metropolitan area), so I might have a piece to add to this.
I was so worried about the risk of a pogrom happening when they had to evacuate the Caulfield synagogue back in November. I wondered than if the evacuation stopped a pogrom from happening or merely delayed it. Pavlou would definitely already be aware of the near-disaster at Caulfield when he saw this & posted the warning.
I don't know how much coverage Caulfield got outside of Australia, so here are two links.
(Link 1: https://www.theage.com.au/national/victoria/man-hit-by-rock-during-violent-protest-near-burnt-out-caulfield-shop-20231111-p5ej81.html)

Please my fellow goyim, do better. Stop falling for every single anti-Semitic libel that has ever been made repackaged for 21st century audiences. Too many of you are repeating millennia old lies in the name of the oldest bigotry left on the planet. We can do better.
Melbourne is one of the last Bundist strongholds, home of the Jewish Labour Bund Melbourne, the last remaining affiliate of the otherwise defunct International Jewish Labor Bund. If anything happens there, it's the final nail in the coffin for Bundism.
To those who claim their fight is with Zionism not Judaism (I don't believe you, but for the sake of argument let's pretend), remember it was the Shoah that killed off Bundism in Europe & made Zionism the mainstream ideology supported by 90% of Jewish people worldwide. Everyone saw the committed Bundists die in 1940-1945 & the committed Zionists win in 1948 & that made the fence-sitters pick the ideology that provided Jewish people with the chance to not die when their goyim neighbours felt like killing them. If a pogrom happens in Melbourne (home of one of the last Bundist strongholds) or in New York (home to the largest Jewish population outside Israel), than this only proves Israel's point. That Israel is the only safe haven. That Zionism is necessary. If a pogrom happens, all of the posers who hide behind the "anti-Zionists not anti-Semitic" claim will only strengthen the ideology they claim to hate by making it too unsafe for most of the Diaspora to stay Diasporic.
Funny thing is most of the time I don't even like nationalist causes. I tend to think of myself either as a global citizen or as a descendant of my Mum's people rather than as an "Australian". If I see someone waving an Australian flag, I usually back away because people who wave Australian flags are usually either racists &/or queerphobes. But history has repeatedly shown why Zionism is necessary, why the Jewish people need their own state, their own nation. If this builds to what I think it's building too, if we have another pogrom in the West in 2024, than once again that proves the necessity of Zionism.
i've been talking about antisemitism for years and i shouldn't be surprised by anything anymore but even i was surprised by the speed and abundance of antisemitism about the tunnel thing
