we've been playing a little Good Society game inbetween our main campaign and it's been SO much fun. i had to draw some of the cast.
lysander & edward are the PCs and the rest are (some of) their immediate circle! florienne is lysander's younger sister who inherited his title after he was exiled. she also ended up marrying lysander's former fianceé, clarissa. it worked out pretty well for them 🥰

Major Characters, and their Connections: from a birthday-themed magical Good Society game we're playing! Broke out some characters from a past dnd game that we miss dearly, and gave them some fun regency hijinks to dance around in.
The top row is the three main characters-- Dalton, Eddy, and Wylloe. Below them on the left are their respective love interests, and on the right, a member from each of their families. More info and image description in the alt text! But feel free to ask about any of these characters, I love them.

Arturo Tanglao, Duke of the Court of Shade
"You can find a friend in me."
He/Him. Just a normal man of many thoughts, most of which he keeps to himself.
He's a new character I made for a hybrid Good Society one shot series I'm in with some buddies~ He's still a fresh voice in my mind, but I'm eager to play him!

Mr. Peregrine Chant (aka “Perry”)
Finally got around to drawing my character for our two-player Good Society campaign. (See the other character here.) Back in town for the first time since getting disinherited several years ago. A disaster bi who’s grown into someone more well-adjusted than anyone wants to give him room to be, given the frankly catastrophic reputation that’s preceded him for the last half-dozen years in his absence.

Impolite Society
Lady Eugenia Maycock settled herself in the library as her butler, Bowles, placed a tea set and a bowl of gruel on the low table between the two sofas.
She had been feeling poorly for the past week, and her doctor had insisted that a diet of thin gruel and broth would be the best means of balancing her humors. While Eugenia had privately disagreed, her husband had espoused the idea to the servants and they had served her nothing else for several days; the dangers of not bringing at least a few servants from one's old household - not even the kitchen maids would take pity on her and give her some of the serviceable meat pies they served for the downstairs luncheon.
She suppressed a sigh and poured herself a cup of tea, then - after a surreptitious glance around to make sure Bowles had truly left - poured the cream and sugar meant for her cup into the bowl of gruel. It made it palatable, if still not particularly appetizing, and she quickly sipped at the gruel. While the cook for the house made excellent meals, ones that drew many compliments from guests, she also made the worst gruel Eugenia had ever had the misfortune to taste and letting it go cold would only make it worse.
She had just finished and was about to take a restorative sip of tea - black though it was - when the bell sounded at the front door. Eugenia glanced at the clock in surprise; it was only just barely an acceptable hour to expect visitors, and she had sent the kitchen boy Todd around with notes to all her friends about her illness. Who, then, could be at the door?
Her question was answered posthaste as her dear friend Lady Letitia Datchery, Baroness Mowbray, pushed her way past Bowles and into the library.
"My dear Eugenia! Oh you look positively transparent, and I know I am being terribly rude but I simply must tell you the news!"
Eugenia hastily rose from her seat and gestured Letitia to the armchair beside her sofa.
"Not at all Letitia! You are, of course, always welcome in this house. You must forgive my attire, I was not expecting visitors; Bowles, please fetch some more tea and some scones for Lady Letitia, and see if cook has any biscuits as well."
Letitia waved away the apology and Bowles looked between the two women briefly bowing with a courteous "My Lady" and disappearing in that way all good servants could. Letitia settled onto the couch, her elegant skirts more rumpled than the motion would have cause and her hair only barely contained in an updo - there were even a few hairs escaping the pins, little coils hanging loosely in a manner that spoke to haste. Indeed, she could barely contain herself as Bowles reappeared with a new tray, this one containing a larger teapot, an additional teacup, and a plate of scones and a little pot of jam.
It was only when he had placed his bounty on the table - with a murmur to Eugenia about biscuits being forthcoming in another twenty minutes - and withdrew that Letitia began to speak. She didn't even wait for Eugenia to pour, simply dashing right in.
"Oh I know you have been feeling unwell this past week my dear Eugenia, and yet I wish to G-d that you could have been to the Turell ball yesterday evening!"
Eugenia handed her a cup - more cream than tea, as she knew Letitia had particular tastes when it came to blends and had complained the first time she had come to take tea in Eugenia's then-new abode - before refreshing her own with cream and taking one of the scones.
"Why, was it so perfectly dreadful? I had heard it was her first time to host, but her mother has always put on a good party."
Letitia waved vaguely, as if brushing aside some nonsense that had no place whatsoever in the conversation, before taking a scone herself and adding a generous serving of the strawberry jam to the top of it.
"No, no, it was quite a good time - though Lady Petra was there and of course she brought along her beastly man Chompa. Really, I don't know what she sees in the lout, all he does is stuff all the food in his oafish mouth."
Eugenia snickered and took a bite of her scone. It was a very good scone, being neither too dry nor too crumbly, and as it was the first solid food she'd had in a week it tasted as the very manna from heaven. If Lord Chompa had been present, she would not have gotten any and he would have drunk the whole pot of tea besides; she'd attended a party or two where he'd been present before.
"Did you starve the rest of the evening, then?"
Letitia shook her head, dislodging another curl from her coiled hair.
"Oh no, it was too wonderful! I don't know how her staff managed it, but the footman contrived to never get within arm's reach of Chompa! It was the most glorious comeuppance for that bottomless pit, for they passed close enough for him to see the food and smell, but never so closely that he managed to grab a bite! Well, until he stood up and accosted one of them, which was a bit of a disappointment for I've never known the crass fool to be put in his place so solidly."
Letitia took a meditative bite of her jam-smeared scone.
"No, it was a masterstroke worthy of an experienced hostess, and I must regret that what happened later so overshadowed it."
Eugenia raised an eyebrow as she sipped at her tea. Having solid food in her stomach had quite restored her appetite for gossip; whatever had happened later in the ball must surely be the scandal of the Season if it overshadowed someone finally getting the better of Chompa's disgusting displays of gluttony.
"Oh"
Letitia actually put her scone down and leaned over to place a hand on Eugenia's arm, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper.
"The Bow Street Runners came and clapped Baron Kingsley in irons!"
Eugenia dropped her teacup, the delicate blue Wedgewood shattering as it met the dark wood floor. Heedless of the mess, Eugenia put her hand to her mouth.
"The Baron! Whatever for?"
Letitia grinned, clearly relishing in Eugenia's shock.
"Nobody knows; well of course, the party couldn't continue after a thing like that! That may not be the worst of it, though, for the Baron."
Eugenia could feel both of her eyebrows rise in disbelief as Bowles and a maid appeared in the door to the library. Bowles held a new cup - from the same set as the old, thankfully - and a plate of fresh biscuits, and the maid had the pieces of the old cup swept up tidily in short order; fortunately, the cup had been empty so no mopping was required.
"Thank you, Bowles, Ailse. What do you mean, not the worst? Surely there can be no worse fate than being pulled in front of the magistrate like some sort of common criminal?"
Letitia giggled. It wasn't a mean giggle, by any means, but it did have the sort of edge to it that meant there was satisfaction to it at another's expense.
"Do you remember the Van der Gunchs? With their perfectly horrible smelters in Cheltenham?"
Eugenia nodded, slightly mystified at the change in topic.
"Well, their youngest - Periwinkle - was at the party, brandishing a weapon - do you remember the incident at the Tremaines' hunting party last year? Some silly clunch gave her another gun - and the Baron took it away from her and removed the cartridges from it in a very professional manner before storing it in his own pocket. Well, you know how the silly chit is about her guns so she is convinced he is in love with her and she is, of course, head over heels for him, and all she need do to hear wedding bells is remove the bars from around her beloved!"
Eugenia did indeed remember the incident at the hunting party; Periwinkle's then-fiance had indulged her unbecoming interest in firearms and brought her on a grouse hunt. Neither of them would say what exactly had happened, but young Bray had been confined to bed for several weeks with a bullet lodged in his thigh and the betrothal had been broken rather frostily.
She pursed her lips.
"Well, it cannot be the worst match; I hear the Baron has gambling debts in need of honoring, and the Van der Gunchs are a very rich family - indeed, I imagine her mama is all but salivating over the Baron's title. I would be surprised if she didn't push for the idea harder than Periwinkle."
Letitia laughed, a bright and happy sound, and the conversation wound away from the fraught Turell ball.

There's some anime out there keeping me not miserable at the lack of rep but one that comes to mind that is recent is Gundam the Witch from Mercury, despite the parent company CEO owners trying to no homo the couple, the show writers, actors, and many other department parts who made the show made it obvious the main two gals are gay for each other (I don't want to say more in case of spoilers). There's also a less war heavy and lighter themed: The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady/ Tensei Ōjo to Tensai Reijō no Mahō Kakumei (anime/manga names can be really long). @midnightechoes has made some great posts with recommendations if you're interested. I am out of the loop on queer video games with rep, besides my farming sim games. Harvestella is a new IP that has "really good friends" system between same gender, but it isn't very romance focused. 🤔
A ttrpg I highly recommend for anyone who wants a smorgasbord of Queer Rep and may happen to be English Lit. nerds (The production group are very keen towards allyship, as seen by their will to drop their most popular campaign/show based of Harry Potter after it's creator went full mask off. There is lots of lgbtqi+ friend characters and stories in their campaigns, this is just the gayest show of theirs imo) :

link below to the system for the ttrpg being used in the series for anyone interested who may come across this.
Dude I came here for supercorp and stayed for show recommendations. I’m glad WoT is back but I wish there were more shows with established wlw couples. With the protests going on I feel like we’re gonna go into LGBT drought in TV. 😪 also the “forbidden love” trope in Lioness reminded me of the Jasmine Throne book series. I highly recommend it!
ohh man been feeling that wlw drought ever since sg ended + warrior nun s2. if tv shows don't got me (understandably), video games got me (for now)

PALLAS comes soon!
So I recently looked at the first gdoc i made for this game and it was made on 8th november 2021, but we're getting achingly close to release so I thought it was worth doing some Posts to generate some small amount of Social Media Hype.
I am always thinking about non-violence in TTRPGs, and around autumn 2021 I had recently played a lot of Heart and Good Society, and we were chatting about Fallouts in the resistance system in Roll+Bond, and thus this game was birthed as an unholy fusion of those two games! Too many resistance games are just about Punching and stuff, so let's try something new. The name PALLAS just kinda came to me one day, unsure where exactly from... I ended up talking to my pal Alice a bunch about it all and so she came on as co-writer!
So this list of inspirations has grown a bit over the last almost three years but I think it's very fun! and felt like a good starting point to talk about the game. I'm hoping to commit to writing a bit about the design decisions as we finish off the ashcan version of Pallas, people have enjoyed it in playtesting but would love people to have a look at our weird surrealist comedy of manners RPG.

Castles in the Air is LIVE on Kickstarter
The wait is over; we're live! Castles in the Air (CitA) is a tabletop RPG written by me and inspired by the novels of Louisa May Alcott and L.M. Montgomery. Based on the award-winning Good Society system, CitA tells stories similar to those in Little Women and Anne of Green Gables. Set in the late 19th century, it follows a group of children who grow up together and remain connected even as they head their separate ways. It’s a game about their dreams, cares and struggles, their personal growth and failings and above all else, what they mean to each other as years pass.
Intrigued? Please check out the Kickstarter to learn more and consider backing. If you can't or don't wish to back, reblogging this post or sharing it with friends off of Tumblr who you think might be interested is still a huge help! This game has been four years in the making, and I'm really excited to share it with all of you.

not-yet-dead-person
silly comic of a conversation in-game i thought was too funny not to make something proper for instead of a doodle ww
(timelapse + wip images (thus silly process commentary in read more if you like artist commentary :3)
i think the sketch looks silly and goofy and funny so i find it important to share with you the mere presence of the faces i drew on it. i drew it on top of the boxes without staying inside its borders because i find my proportions can get wonky if i draw them cropped in a restricted space. and I feel trapped otherwise and i will draw BAD!!! give me spaceeeee to go wild!!!!
the head circles are there for emotional support
very low res speedpaint because truth is the canvas was much bigger than the space where my comic was placed. i didnt account when exporting my timelapse in 720px that that tiny space would look so pixelated ... but it's able to be percieved, so its okay.
(i will now comment on my process and it is not brief sorry)
usually i would try to clean up my sketches and figure out what goes on top before jumping into linework, but since there are multiple panels and drawings i chose to jump into inking right away for the sake of brevity. i just went in with a brush that uses pen pressure and drew what was needed. i added extra line thickness and contrast in areas around the face because it helps direct your eyes there more easily that way.
according to her equipment rei has a chain belt but i only remembered it existed once I was going to color, and i did not like that discovery... I chose to ignore it to maintain my peace. i already have the color palettes for these characters figured out, and i didnt really want to think about a new element at the moment www I tend to overthink those things a lot so i skipped it
the rest is rather straightforward! not that anything else wasn't, but in here i could turn my brain off and sing. linework and sketching require mumbling so i cannot turn my brain off. just block in the characters with a solid color so i can have a mask (something along those lines,) where the color can stay inside. then just color in !!!
Base colors just had slight cell shading on the skin, and for the hair i airbrush a bit of the skincolor in low opacity near the forehead... I'm not sure what it means, but i can look at the faces easier with it somehow. i like the gentle subtlety it adds even if you cant really tell. it makes things look nice.
background was just me blocking in the color of the wall and floor, shade the wall a bit, then slap a noise and free use wood texture on top. work smarter not harder ! yet it took a bit to make it look stylistically fitting with the characters, and even now i think bottom middle panel looks odd. whatever!!!
for the middle panel i thought itd be funny if the background was a solid silly and colorful one to contrast the next panel's sketchy black one. a contrast to how the word widow is seen. on that note my handwritting is not pointy. i gaslighted my hand into thinking that it was indeed pointy in that moment so i could write "not-yet dead person" in letters that didn't seem cute. my hand did not fall for it but it complied anyway
that's basically it! I'm not sure what else i could say that doesn't feel barebones because it really is that straightforward. if you're curious I used clip studio paint for this. only special brush used was for linework (a brush named Lemon Brush), the rest used were just the default. my computer gets the least credit. it was trying to convince me a 20mb file was going to nuke it all the time and hardly let me save multiple times so i do not appreciate it
#re:kinder#fanart#sayaka re:kinder#rei re:kinder#OH I ALREADY RAMBLED IN MY POST WHATEVER SHOULD I TALK ABOUT NOW IN MY TAGS UEEEEEEE😭😭😭#oh yeah do you want to know a fun fact about this drawing#i started it yesterday. i wasnt meant to I DID NOT HAVE PERMISSION...FROM MYSELF... i was meant to be on break#i self imposed a one week break from doing any rekinder related project after the transcript to avoid accidental burn out#NOT THAT I GOT TIRED OF IT AFTER THAT TRANSCRIPT NOT AT ALL#but jumping straight into more hours of creativr work after over 30 hours of it is asking for disaster. it is asking for burn out#yesterday was the last day . 12 hours were left but i was going to die if i didnt draw anything it would have been OVER#(aka my period started recently so i got very gloomy and depressed so i needed to run to my favorite stress relief...drawing rekinder☺️)#(on that note seriously what the fuck please explain the evolutionary advantage to getting horribly depressed every month)#(like hello?!?! rant real quick— i get enough flashbacks everyday i DONT need them to last longer and have me more msierable ?!?!?)#(periods are so dangerous to my mental health for no reason can i get a restriction order on them or some shit what the fuck)#(anyway thats enough of that break of character DONEEEE :3333)#SO YEAH I DIDNT EVEN LAST 7 WHOLE DAYS i even played a new game in between those 6 days youd think itd het my mind of rekinder. WRONNNNGGG#not even another devastating rpg horror gamr could divert my attention for long i hsd to draw rekinder😊#using the newfound power of mt transcript i was decided on drawing rei because i dont draw her enough for how high she is on my fvaorites#i was initially doodling random lines but then i stumbled upon this interactkon and it doesnt really fit into my usual expression sheets#so i thought hey lets do it asife#i thumbnailrd it and from there i was like hey lets do it in comic format isntead of separated messy doodles in tint canvas#and the rest is hisotry .... aka i spent the last two days doing this instead of doing MY HOMEWORK!!!!!#on my defense when i wasnt drawing i was horribly depressed i had no other choice#(seriously fuck off periods WHAT what do you mean i need to be distracted 24/7 to not be struck by crippling meltdowns LEAVE ME ALONE?!?!?)#(they should be banned we as a society should find like a . cure to them it dont do me good to have a whole week where i cant function)#these tags have been more of a weird rant im sorry IVE BEEN FEELING PEEEVEDDD LATELY SO YOU GET.
