In the past several months, you have raised a total of $1265 on GoFundMe and $938 through the auction event, all for Take Back the Night to support sexual assault survivors.

Instead of throwing away your Neil Gaiman-related books, box sets, statues, comics, etc. how would fandom feel about banding together to auction them off for charity with all the profits going to RAINN?

I do not have the spoons to run a charity auction because dealing with fulfillment and listening fees is currently beyond my reach.

But what I do have is a lot of very rare very cool stuff that--rather than putting it in a box or throwing it in the bin--could find a new home instead, and do some good for a good cause.

Aziraphale wanted to give Crowley the chance to do good without having to face consequences for it, he wanted the two of them to be together without having to face consequences for it. The fear of going against God’s will and being cast out Heaven is still deeply rooted in his mind, so when he sees the opportunity of being allowed to work with (and love) Crowley “legally”, in the Almighty’s eyes, of course he jumps onto that train. Also, he’s been managing the fragile balance between doing what he thinks is right and doing what Heaven/God wants for a very long time, and now he might have the chance to unify the two, putting an end to his moral dilemmas and giving him a feeling certainty and purpose.

Crowley has never been as afraid as Aziraphale to stand up for what he thought was right or morally correct. He’s taken many many risks over the years and sometimes payed a high price for them. Asking too many questions cost him his angelic status; helping Elspeth in 1827 got him dragged down to Hell and possibly tortured; preventing the Apocalypse cost him his “job”, his apartment and almost got him killed. He really doesn’t have much more to lose. The only things we see him having an attachment to in s2 are the Bentley, his peaceful and fragile existence on Earth, and Aziraphale, who he is especially protective of. In fact he is so scared of losing Aziraphale that he’s extremely careful when it comes to taking risks in their relationship, which is part of the reason why it took 6000 years and two lesbians to get him to communicate how he felt. So of course he wants to keep Aziraphale safe, and he probably believes that the only way to do that is to bring him far away from those who are responsible for everything else he’s lost so far. Because if he loses Aziraphale too, what meaning does life have anymore?

They’re both so afraid of losing each other, but Aziraphale hasn’t lost as many things as Crowley has and believes that if they can find a way to be together legitimately inside the system, they’re safe. Meanwhile Crowley, who’s lost so much at the hands of Heaven and Hell, thinks that the only way they can be safe is far away from the system.

It's with EXTREME amazement and gratitude I tell you that, between April 18 and May 7, 2024, the Good Omens fandom rallied together and raised nearly 3 times our original goal of $666 to split for our charities.

After taxes and fees, Bildad Zine donated $1,932!!!

* £727 to Safeline UK ($966 USD)

(Mods threw in the last bit to ensure we could get a nice even ~66 number for both. :3 And another $25 USD was donated directly to RAINN in Bildad Zine's honor by one fellow fan.)

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. All of you. This was an incredibly well-received and beloved project born out of trauma, intent on putting something better and kinder into the world. We're so humbled by all the support for the zine and our charities of choice. They do immensely important work for survivors and their loved ones.

Soda companies

JUST WANTED TO ADD ALL SODA! All soda companies (especially cocacola) are supporting Israel. That means all of their extended brands so even powerade and monster. (Monster is a little weird cause their technically related) a lot of this can be complicated. Try and read the back labels of things. Thats how I found out powered was a Coca-Cola brand item. Try and drink healthy this summer! Cause it's not only helping your health, it's helping theirs too. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE TELL YOUR FRIENDS TO TRY NOT DRINKING SODA THIS YEAR! I know it's hard cause there's so many brands and drinks owned by them but they have deep ties with Israel.

Apologies, I often try to avoid promotion on my personal account, though I know a lot of my mutuals expressed interest when this fundraiser was initially proposed and I want to try and reach that audience again and the larger Good Omens community:

On Our Own Side Fundraiser is still looking for organizers and moderators for our upcoming events. Having additional help on our team in the coming weeks is CRUCIAL to being able to run our upcoming events, and without it, we may have to postpone, edit, or even cancel our events.
