Death Day’s are unpleasant. Danny still remembers his first one. It was awful, being forced to relive his own death. Over time, he’s gotten used to them. They’re never good but … they’ve never been as awful as the first one he went through. 

His new friend, Damian, is beginning to show the signs that he has his own Death Day coming up. Maybe Danny can make a care basket or something to make it a little easier on him. Would it be considered rude to ask him about it? Surely, Damian knows Danny’s half-dead too?

Prompt 320

Lazarus Pits are toxic (read practically acidic) to most realms beings. The keyword being most. There are in fact two beings that are immune. 

The first is those with shadow cores, as their cores are quite literally designed to adapt and mirror the aspects of their surroundings alongside anything that may harm them. And those types of ghosts are already rare, most destabilizing when younger because they think they can adapt to something they can’t handle yet. 

The second thing? Halfas. The Pits heal those close to death but who cling to life, and Halfas? Constantly inbetween life and death, no matter what form they take. So something that would normally burn both the living and dead? Does practically nothing to them. In fact? It heals them. 

So a shadow-cored Halfa searching through the zone for a safe spot for his clone-kids to heal? Well, there’s never been a safer place.

"Come get your child." Robin stared incredulously at this...entity? Being? He was a child himself, how could he possibly have a kid of his own.

The creature huffed, seeming very put out by the young vigilantes confusion. "What is there to not understand? Your child has been running wild in the Infinite Realms for a while now. Ever since that portal exploded hes been taking his emotions out on everyone!" The thing said, throwing her hands into the air, "And you!" Robin stepped back a pace or two when he suddenly found a very sharp claw in his face, "I had to do a lot of searching to even find you! What kind of parent are you?!"

"I'm not."

The entity opened and closed its mouth a few times like a fish before suddenly becoming furious, "Its no wonder hes like this when his gardian has so little interest in him! Did you know the other day he plugged a liquor bottle with a cloth and lit it on fire? I don't even know where he got it, but he lit the cloth and yelled something like, "mazzle toff" and threw it at my own adult son!"

"..."

"When my little boy burst into flames do you know what he said to me?"

"...no, but I feel like you're going to tell me anyways."

"I'm sorry ma'am I wasn't expecting there to be that much fire."

"That much? So he fully intended to set someone ablaze but the amount of fire is what troubled him?"

"Yes!" She growled, exasperated, "Please come get your child as soon as possible! Hes terrorizing the whole dimension!"

Damian found himself staring at open space the woman had occupied previously before contacting Oracle through the coms, "Did you get all of that?"

It was Grayson that spoke, "Every word."

Aka Danny has a lot of misplaced aggression and kinda terrorizes parts of the GZ. Unfortunately for him hes a clone of one of the bats (weather or not you want it to be Damian, Project R or someone else that hes cloned from is up to you) and they're coming to him to assess if he's an evil clone or mindless or whatever.

Too bad Danny sucks at first impressions.

A goddess intervention, a goddess’s blessing

(Tomorrow is gonna be a sad day for me. It’s the anniversary of my Grandpa’s passing which is dubbed as ‘Rod’s Day’-it’s the stupidest thing ever and I hate it. So, sorry if this and Superman’s are not happy ones, but I’m still sick and still very feral)

Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman, usually only prays to her mother for one of two things. One; she misses her and needs womanly advice. Two: She needs her mother’s divine guidance and blessings.

And after learning from Superman, and under the Lasso of Truth, that Luther funded, and many others also funded, a mysterious organization that was not only researching life on other planets, but stories on how life was created on Earth (From MANY mythologies and religious). She knew that she needed help.

She knows that she can never return to her people, nor her home, but she knows that she can still pray to her mother and hope to hear her words once again.

It takes a week of prayer and even a bit of John Constantine’s help, but she finally has a stable, if not weak, connection to her mother and begs for her guidance.

Unfortunately, the laws of the Universe and the rules of the Gods leave very little, or no room at all, for interventions, even if it is playing with the lives of others.

At least until John Constantine begins his own questions and prayers, and try as her and her mother might, he was not going to allow some rouge scientists play God on innocent lives.

He does allow Wonder Woman and her mother a few moments more of conversation, before he leaves to have his own questions answered by other forces unknown to Diana.

”My dear daughter, this is not a war that you can win with a leveled head. Even the most sane of men make sacrifices for fated futures.”

Diana leaves with more questions than answers, but she does her best to heed her mother’s advice as the hours pass with little word from Constantine or the Bat family.

Diana walks the rooftops of Gotham, looking at the stars and listen to the nightlife come and goes. She waits for a sign of danger, or a sign of approval, but none come to her.

She takes a seat on an empty apartment balcony, soon to be joined by Cat Woman, and stays quiet for a moment or two. Just remembering her past and what she had given up for her future. And wonders if her mother was right to sacrifice herself for Diana’s happiness.

“I can see the steam coming out of your ears hun.” Cat Woman teases, but Diana knows that she feels the pressure as well, before continuing, “What dog’s barking up your tree?”

”My mother gave me a warning, but I fear that I’m no closer to the answer than when I first prayed for her guidance.” Diana returns, allowing herself this moment of vulnerability which she has not shared with anyone but her first love.

“Well, I’m heading to Harley’s place later for a girl’s night, maybe clearing your head might get that hairball out of your throat.”

Cue Lightbulb over Diana’s head.

“Yes! She is the ones Gotham rouges turn to for their problems. Including the one that speaks in riddles and the fear scientist! Come! Let us be on our way!”

Cue a very Confused Cat Woman being eagerly dragged towards Harley’s apartment, with her giving Harley a quick heads up to bring her psychological thinking hat along with the booze and food.

Fanfic Rec 6 of ?

Robin's Egg by Calix on AO3 I’m back at it agin with the DC/DP crossovers, and this one is GOOD.

Ongoing work, again: sorry, has around 168k+ words and 51 chapters.

I was on the DC/DP crossovers, as usual, with a healthy dose of Angst. When I came to, I was at the end of the fic and wanting more. To be honest the fan art here and there for the fanfiction got me interested.

Fan art for a fanfic tells you that shit is amazing and you must read it NOW.

Not giving away much but Danny is not the main in focus. But the angst part is. There is a healthy dose of happy family to keep you from feeling too sad and good humor/comedy.

The batfam's pets. Like, for example, Ace, Bathound, doggo rescued from the Joker and adopted into the family. Bruce's dog, him.

Like either they also have lil puppet bodies (unlikely), harnesses with armor and supplies, or they're not a part of the vigilante life. Either way I am just stuck in the thought of these massive terrifying things gently cradling itty bitty fluffy animals lol
