Elemmakil lets them in.

Ecthelion: Why is there a mysterious cloaked figure at my gate?

Tuor: Move aside, downer. What the messenger of the Lord of Water wants, the messenger of the Lord of Waters gets.

Yes, he did actually refer to himself in third person.

Wait, it gets better.

The mysterious cloak in question was given to him by Ulmo. This whole time, he has been using it to cover up the hauberk from Vinyamar.

You know, the one thing that proves he is who he says he is.

Well he waits until he has passed all seven of Turgon’s extravagant gates, at which point ‘his cloak fell down���. Which I can only assume is the fancy way of saying ‘Tuor flung it from himself like he was Gandalf revealing his new upgrade’.

Tolkien being like “and THEN Tuor—” who has already been raised by elves, escaped thraldom, and lived as a wild outlaw for some enrichment “—took his harp which he carries with him ALWAYS and also he’s quite skilled :3” like. I know you love your guy but have you ever heard of less is more.

Broke: Gondolin was a serious, conservative, prudish city.

Woke: The Gondolindrim were stuck in one city for 400-ish years with no Morgoth threatening them and basically nothing do to. If anyone in Middle-Earth was entertaining themselves with festivals and ragers, it was them. We're talking drunken moshpits, people getting thrown into fountains, endless romantic intrigue between most of the Lords, the whole nine yards.

Bespoke: The Gondolindrim were party animals but they all agreed that what happens in Gondolin stays in Gondolin and never talked about the parties after the fall; which is why Gondolin gets a reputation for being so serious and boring. Most of the Gondolindrim, and especially Turgon, think this is hilarious.

Raw sketch of Glorfindel. The helmet totally inspired by Alan Lee's illustration. The armor piece was inspired by flower petals, I think it looks ugly. But however this is just the beginning, I'm still trying to invent a more believable-looking armor. More updates soon

Ahhh first post on Tumblr (*nervous chuckles*), a Glorthelion fan art for one of my favorite talented writers @a-tehta !

After reading the amazing fic "Sparring" on my bday (yes I'm the same birthday girl in the comment lol), I just couldn't stop imagining their first night on the ship & how great it would feel again to be able to snuggle together after centuries separation😍! So I just have to draw it down (*chuckles again*)

All these gentlemen were drawn as part of the Gondolin Gang series for intea (my deep gratitude for this opportunity and inspiration ♥). Of course I will draw the remaining two, but now I want to show the finished ones 😃

I tried to draw different but stylistically similar and simple outfits, hairstyles and faces, so that one could believe that they live at the same time and in the same place, being in an everyday (medieval) environment - most of them had small bags for small things and clothes whose fit is regulated by a belt and not by patterns.

Egalmot got the most complex background - there's a cat there, did you see it? 🐈

Who do you like the most and who has the coolest handbag? 🙂👀
