It's on their own Freewill, cause' most likely, they're worn out and tired of being assistance & doing the Guardian work & wearing feathers & all that Bla-bla-blahh.., So... Switching over to the Dark brings it's own glory.. Or as it might seem so.. Indeed!..

When the Time Comes, They'll make their journey to the Garden of Snakes, grab one floating Pear of Gold from a Tree, and as soon as they touch the Pear, the transformation to the Darkness begins.. the Snakes will eat what's being stripped by the transformation... & it ain't really pretty... the Golden Pear will remain with the Darkness Dweller, until they're unfortunately vanquished or they'll plant the Pear seeds & seek the Pathway back to the Light...

It is possible to switch back, but that's a Whole another different story... & that's not a Simple as Picking a Pear of Gold..
