I love trtf classic

This is a post. about talking about why i love everything about it because I'm LAME!!!! Apologies if this comes off as disjointed or clunky as this is kind of a stream of consciousness more than anything.

First and foremost, the aesthetic; I fucking adore photoshop fnaf fangames. I don't mean that as "oh they look bad but they're kinda charming", no, I mean that as I LOVE, and I mean REALLY love that kind of style, and this game is really the gift that keeps on giving in that regard cause man.

I love everything about how this game looks. Were there better ways to do the edits? Yeah probably, but I love it anyway. And this is a part of the central reason why I like this game; It's basically the encapsulation of the first year of fnaf.

The usage of sugar, shadow sparky (who was later renamed to "Shadow dug", but in the files was referred to as "Shadow sparky"), the phone guy being the killer, the mixture of fnaf 1/2's themes, hell even the fact that it's a fanmade version of Fnaf 3, Man, it's honestly kind of a time capsule for that first year of the fanbase, and I ADORE it for that. Let's continue though...

On the topic of the phone guy, I've made a whole post on why I adore him as a character, but my thoughts on it aside; I still really like the phone calls. I've honestly found the later calls in the trtf series to be kinda lame, as they're mostly just trying to be the official stuff, which I suppose does make them better than this game, but... Man, it just doesn't get better than TRTF1. I love the awkwardness of each and every one of the phone calls, I love how one of the calls is just vincent telling you how to make coffee as if it would actually require instructions, and I'm honestly just kind of a sucker for phone guy deaths. As for the actual quality of the calls, yeah sure I guess you could say they're pretty bad but I would rather take something objectively bad over something "better", but ultimately bland.

Also, the boss fight on night 6 is kinda neat where he comes after you in a golden freddy suit. He functions the same as everyone else, sure, but it's still neat that this happens at all. It predated FNAF 4's advent of a boss fight by about a year, so hey, that's neat. Weirdly both of them involve Golden freddy in some form though.

Minigames are next. Admittedly, I have next to nothing to talk about these, stuff pretty much just happens in them. Though, I will say I do like that in order to get them, you need to input codes into the custom night. I just think that's plain cool.

Post-night cutscenes are also kinda neat, and I do like shadow lockjaw's design, but again, I don't really have much to say about it. I do wonder if you could twist this into a game in of itself, though...

With that said, I think that's just about everything I can spill about. I absolutely adore this game. It may be buggy, it may not have the best mechanics ever, it may generally be an imperfect experience; But to me, it's everything I could ever want about an old fangame. I love it so very very much

Nosferatu follow up: I thought Nosferatu shared several flaws with Eggers’s previous films but the imagery is quite revolting and suggestive. You’ll know it when you see it but there’s a, er, gulping scene with Orlok feeding on Thomas approx. 45 minutes into the film that I thought may provoke a response in Lestat—if the new season takes place in 2026 it would not be out of the question for him and Louis to have seen it as a Claudia tribute, perhaps purchasing a third ticket and keeping an empty seat between them in her honour.

I do love revolting and suggestive imagery, anon, so that at least works in my favour, haha. You have me very intrigued by the gulping scene too.

It's actually so funny that you bring up the idea of them being impacted by films too (and I really do love the idea that they would see Nosferatu for Claudia and that it would have a lot of layers of emotionality to it, both with her not being there and with an Orlok-induced Magnus memory), because I'm editing the cruising fic as we speak, and I actually have Louis watching The Peasants in it and thinking about Lestat in - - well. A lot of ways.

In the film, in the book, Jagna is some bright and sun-kissed thing, a golden-haired girl coveted as both prize and payment, living in the saturated light of the painted, Polish countryside. The men of this small village, they bat her between them and want her and worship her and berate her and fuck her and strip her to nothing in the wheat fields, and, despite himself, every time her blonde hair dances in strokes of animated paint, Louis sees Lestat, and every time she’s taken among the crops, Louis sees Lestat, and every time she’s laid bare and left wild-eyed and humiliated, but still living, enduring, he sees Lestat, and then he thinks about Lestat writing and making and singing in a room full of strangers.

Thinks about everything he has to write about that’s not Louis, about the life he once lived in Paris, on the stage and off it, about Nicki, about Armand, about the things that he survived in his maker’s tower until the moment that he didn’t, the things that he survived before that, and he wonders about life in the Auvergne, but then he just wonders if Nicki got him like this. This bright-burning thing, a star dropped from the heavens to be ground into the dirt. If they fucked or made love in the undulating green of the countryside that Louis only knows from pictures, if Lestat would see himself in this film, like maybe Louis sees Lestat, and no, Louis’ not doing this. Not supposed to be doing this, he is practicing the art of not thinking, but in the last shot Jagna stands naked and degraded and forced out of the only home she’s ever known, lockjawed and golden, and there is something to the brushstroke of her still-proud expression that just looks so much like him. It leaves Louis wet-eyed and hollow chested, and Lestat’s messages sit like a temptation he won’t (can’t) give into in his pocket, because they are not companions, because Louis wants this life without him to be enough for him, needs it to be so desperately, and as the credits start to roll, that handsome young man looks back at him again, and - -

Golden Boy is an album by Quincy Jones which was released by Mercury in 1964. The album includes three versions of the theme from the musical Golden Boy with three original compositions and jazz versions of pop hits.

long and short of her story is she used to be a trainee at the eye of michael who underperformed and was consequently chosen as a candidate for a trail of preliminary augments that would later be refined and used to create the “drones”--what i’m calling the three henchmen guys who carry razlo’s punishers for him when he fronts. she’s the prototype, or the blueprint to build off of basically. by the time the tests were over and done with and the relevant augment personnel got the information they needed razlo became quite attached to her, and through sheer nepotism as the EOM’s golden child, and a little bit of begging master chapel to persuade the other masters, he was allowed to keep her. her fate otherwise would have lead to her being destroyed.

the mental conditioning had some pretty bad effects on her cognitive functions; she’s not much smarter than a particularly clever dog and often when razlo isn’t fronting she’ll become sluggish and uncoordinated. the mental conditioning wasn’t 100% effective either, razlo’s influence over her comes as more of a suggestion than an order she is meant to obey, so sometimes she won’t listen to him at all. regardless he is still diligent in making sure she’s comfortable and clean, wiping drool off her face, trimming her nails, sneaking her good food wherever he can, and often asking livio to tend to her while he can’t.

Brisbane's drag Golden Girls back on stage for a great cause

Brisbane drag legend Lucy Lockjaw and her sisters Carla M’World and Vira Brator are getting frocked up once more for two special shows for a great cause.

They’re the Golden Girls of Drag and are presenting two upcoming charity shows in Ipswich and Kedron to raise money for The Leukaemia Foundation.

Lucy Lockjaw, a regular at Brisbane’s The Sportsman Hotel, Options and Terminus, was inducted into the Sporties Drag Hall of Fame last year.

For the two Golden Girls of Drag shows, Lucy, Carla and Vira will welcome some legendary guests on stage with them.

Expect brash gaudy glitz combining classic pop hits with humorous parodies for an evening of light-hearted entertainment.

Lucy Lockjaw fundraising for a good cause

Lucy Lockjaw said all profits from the shows will go to the cancer charity, in memory of their late loved one Judy Krause. Judy recently passed away in Brisbane.

“We had a close relative diagnosed with a form of leukemia that was terminal,” the drag queen said.

“Judy Krause had lived in a caravan touring the country with her husband and they had no permanent address.

“The Leukemia Foundation stepped up and provided them an apartment near the Princess Alexandra Hospital at no expense, so they were close by for Judy’s treatment.

“This apartment was our sister and brother-in-law’s home for the remaining weeks until she passed away on June 1.”

To thank The Leukemia Foundation, the drag trio are fundraising with the two shows.

“At 13 years old, Judy gave up school to take care of her family,” Lucy Lockjaw said.

“Judy also cared for the community as a nurse. She spent her whole life spreading love, equality and respect for all.

“Judy told us before she passed just how touched and honoured she was that we were doing this in her honour.

“She was hoping to hang on long enough to see us at both of our shows. However, now we will only have her photo and her spirit with us.”

Golden Girls of Drag shows in July and August

The first show, Divas Do Christmas in July, is on July 6, 2024 at Ipswich Football Club. Tickets are $30 and available direct from The Golden Girls of Drag via phone on 0422 134 355 or lucylockjaw02@gmail.com.

She pondered a moment, then slipped the beads back into a different pocket. "What do you think? The tooth is one of Lockjaw's that got knocked out once. The pin was my aunt's, but she will never miss it."

Luna may not understand commerce, but she got the concept of trade easily enough. Nothing was ever free. Not even her powers.

"You're sure Father won't find out it was us? I would rather not get sent back to live with Mother again..."

Gabby knew a shitty dad when she smelled him. He probably wasn't as bad as Logan but taking a phone away was one step away from becoming Logan. Logan liked to think he had authority over Gabby but Akihiro and Laura were the people who had the power to ground her.

Gabby grinned. "Oh I so have money for a happy meal get a load of this." She dug in to her pockets pulling out her pink wallet and produced a fist fill of fives, a gift card for a milkshake place with an unknown amount of money still on it and Akihiro's credit card that was for 'emergencies only.'

"I'm pretty sure this should cover us! But if not Akihiro has us covered." He would understand. This was a total emergency. He hated dads too! He totally wouldn't mind if Gabby was using his card to pull off a complex job like this.

"I also have," She dug around in her pockets again "A ladybug bracelet, a scrunchie and Jonathan's mask."
