can you rant abt hiveswap and how it changes the per-established alternian lore and not in a good way. i hold no stake in this topic but i love to hear about worldbuilding differences and people complaining

oh my god i would loveeee too. well first of all the obvious stuff with how they seem to think the beta trolls were the stereotypes for their caste (NOT TRUE... very very untrue but ESPECIALLY untrue with like. jadebloods goldbloods and purplebloods who seem to get this the worst somehow)

i hateeee how they made jades preppy THATS KANAYAS THING.. AND SHES EXPLICITLY *WEIRD* FOR THAT. they literally mention it like over 20 times how kanaya is sooooo weird for liking fashion and dressing well and then. oh no i guess every jade does that actually whoops sorry! ToT and god do i even need to go into the terrible prevalence of the idea that "jadebloods are typically/instinctively nurturing" when that is textually not the case?

goldbloods all having double horns is not that big of a deal tbh but its really funny to me that they made that assumption when sollux is like. actively called a mutant for most of the comic. "oh yeah hes mutated and weird and fucked up and some of his body parts are doubled (cue dick jokes here)". like that was a thing for sollux but they just decided to say "well actually. thats just how all goldbloods are"

most purplebloods having a "clowny aesthetic" is fine with me honestly since theres an actual Profession of being a subjuggalator and presumably lots of purples are going to be wanting to go into that? but alllll of them being full on juggalo cultists goes directly against canon. its like. the difference between american lawmaking and christianity. yes the separation of church and state is like nonexistent here. but just because american lawmaking is an enterprise controlled by christianity doesnt mean that All Politicians/Cops are automatically christian. and definitely not the same kind of christian?? there are probably agnostic clowns, or clowns who are only into cultism for the aesthetic. even reformist vs. orthodox clowns. they may all be upholding the same systemic white christian status quo, but they doesn't mean they all fit into that niche themselves. if that makes sense?

and of course i've already made a whole post about how i hate the idea that olivebloods are all feral little rogues, since that makes very little sense in canon.

i would really love to do that full stream of the hiveswap and friendsim games just. going through all of their alternian stuff and explaining my thoughts on it and how it relates to canon... i could go on and on about this stuff for ages and get into way more than just caste stereotypes. i think i would need to reread all of homestuck first to make sure i wasnt just pulling shit out of my ass and was truly studied up though, lmao

hi! it's very nice to meet you, too. my current wip is called goldbloods, and it's a story i wrote years ago that i'm editing and updating to my modern standards so that i can publish it on kofi! it's about a pleasure slave who marries one of the immortal royal family (a man he once had an illicit tryst with) and figures out how to navigate that foreign world.

also, the royal family and its empire is slowly collapsing, and this brings up some interesting dilemmas for our protagonist...

i'm not stuck on anything as much as i'm annoyed at having to edit and transform this story. when i first wrote it, i intended it to be a full novel, but now i know what i have to do to make it a finished novella. however, i am enjoying rereading this story i haven't read in almost two years. i still love the fucked up royal family as much as i always did.

editing is my least favorite part of the writing process, however, editing is all i have braincells for because i've been burnt out and drafting something new is proving harder than usual.

thanks so much for the ask! i extend the same question to you- what are you currently working on, and do you need any advice/just to rubber duck with it?

the girl is amieya and the brother is arthur they are opposites of eachother! amieya is alot happier, optimistic, but alot more meaner and arthur is more quiet, a big crybaby, pessemistic and tries to never get into fights but cause of the shared body and his sister being a lot more well, energetic she has more or pretty much full control of their body, they both suffer from void rot cause they only have enough energy to sustain one troll so they share the energy!!

i thought it might be cool to make her a tick, or SPECIFICALLY a mite, since they parasitize bees... she is still a bee parasite--based on the ghost bee, which is a nest parasite like cuckoos. It's a little silly considering all trolls are nest parasites anyways, but it's the best I could do, I REALLY want to keep goldbloods bees, though she totally has a blood-parasite like theming and apperance. I love how she clings to her lusus in Hiveswap, it's so freakin adorable. She got black wings and pale yellow dots on her thorax. The fuzzy sweater is to keep her warmer, and sweatpants are easy to get in and out of. She feels cold to the touch and barely has a presence. Kuprum cares very dearly for her.

i am 90% sure the answer to this question is 'spoilers', but why is there no bronze sign in the player group for sovstuck?

That actually has a lot to do with the NPCs… Or, the “Alpha Session” of SVURB. That Kromab, Argebi, was a Knight of Hope… Leading an utterly doomed session. She was more or less a symbol of there being a “missing piece” that basically marked it all dead on arrival. Total lack of harmony amongst those players in every sense, even down to their ages.

She was the Foolish Gold who thought she could make it work. Dense brick of Pyrite that she is.

Alright so let's say you both got a house now, not too big not too small just right, Sometimes some abyss mages comes by to your house and brings food at first you and your parent was warry of it (Who wouldnt?😭) but seeing the abyss mages being actually friendly it calmed your parent down abit and decided to accept the foods

One day your parent decided to go and search for some extra food so you guys dont go hungry! which leads you being the only one inside the house.. Of course you didnt pay mind into it at first then later on, you heard some people outside your house (maybe 6-7?) you heard one of them yelling that they finally found the "imposters" house and is about to break in

You look through the window and remebered one of the rumours & gossips about whoever can capture the imposters will get a very high huge ammount of rewards

You noticed these people possibly trying to kill you and your parent were Treasure Hunters

You acted quickly and went to find items to protect yourself

No but seriously, You and your parent is prepared for this and they trained you what to do if this ever happens, you quickly went to the room where you and your parents putted the traps to protect your house

You began to set off the traps and went a place to hide somewhere in the tables (you a kid so you bet yo ass your short asf) once you fully trapped the whole house and grabbed your makeshift weapon

Once you heard them go in the house you watched the treasure hoarders fail miserably on trying to get pass through the traps you have planted

Once theyre injured enough they finally gave up and flee not obtaining anything

Meanwhile you laughing your ass off

Once your parent finally came back you told them everything that happened

and your parent laughed with you

Lets just hope those treasure hoarders wont come back or call more back up or else theyre gonna get theyre ass beaten by traps planted by you once again💀
