Hello everyone, Draw Goku as a tribute to Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, this Anime will mark our childhood for everyone around the world.

Since my beginnings, I drew cell when I was a 13-year-old child. I was also a fan of this anime. I saw it on Cartoon Network in the TOONAMI block. I LIKED ITS GOKU TRILOGY LIKE:

Well, 8 years ago Akira Torimaya paid tribute to Stan Lee, the creator of Marvel and DC superheroes, for his taste in Japanese manga and American Manga.

Well, on March 1, 2024, the Japan Hospital sent a message from its fans around the world and said:

Dear friends and partners.

We are deeply saddened to inform you that manga creator Akira Toriyama passed away on March 1 due to an acute subdural hematoma. He was 68 years old.

It is our deep regret that he still had several works in full creation with great enthusiasm, furthermore, he would have many more things to achieve.

However, he has left many manga titles and works of art to this world. Thanks to the support of so many people around the world, he has been able to continue his creative activities for over 45 years. We hope that Akira Toriyama's unique world of creation will continue to be loved by everyone for a long time.

We inform you of this sad news, thanking you for your kindness during his life.

The funeral was celebrated with his family and very few of his relatives. Following his wishes for peace of mind, we respectfully inform you that we will not accept flowers or condolence gifts. visits, offerings and others. Likewise, we ask that you refrain from conducting interviews with his family.

The future plan for the memorial meeting is not decided, we will inform you when it is confirmed. We deeply appreciate your understanding and support as always.

Not sure where to put this, but one thing I don't think gets discussed enough is how the deeper power scaling community is a breeding ground for bigotry, fascism, and far right rhetoric.

I think there's parallels to how the incredibly toxic spaces of gaming communities eventually lead into gamer gate. How unseething anger and hatred over stuff that objectively does not matter in any real world context has created the perfect conditions for extremist ideologies to form, in a way that's pretty well fueled by the same kind of self victimization behaviors that spread this toxic ideology in weeb and gaming spaces, with which the power scaling community has considerable overlap. Like, I'd see people send death threats to each other for months on end over whether Sonic the Hedgehog can beat Ben 10, harassing people and holding grudges for years because they think your take is "objectively wrong". As if such a thing could exist for an argument over how hard a fictional character can punch.

Like, back before I wised up and left VS Battles Wiki, there would be moments where long time users would casually admit they don't think democracies should exist because people can't be trusted to vote or that all criminals should all be locked away forever without a chance for parole. And that's on a wiki that gives a bare minimum amount of effort into policing bigotry and hateful behavior (you know, unless you're a mod).

There's a reason why numerous heavily influential and popular power scalers (IE. Not A Robot and Seth the Programmer) are also far right YouTubers with rantsonas who think Steven Universe is grooming the children.

Guess it's why I don't like how most people begin and end their criticisms of Power Scaling with "the fans are annoying". Like, there's a genuinely dangerous community here and its dangers are worth discussing. If you think the shit Death Battle got for Goku vs Superman is the worst of it, dude, you know nothing of how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Don't get into the deeper power scaling community. I say this as a power scaler. Don't. It's not worth it. Stick to Death Battle.

Nine VS Shadow in real life:

Well, admittely, Shadow looks more like a cat than an hedgehog, apart from the quills (I talked several times about that). I also noticed that all cats in Sonic Prime have a short tail, same lenght and shape as Sonic and Shadow - bobtail cats.

In Western countries DSH bobtail cats are rare (I only meet few, a mum and her kittens who were born with a short tail), in Asia they're common.

All my cats had average to long tail. Goku (half Scottish Fold) and Kiwi had long tails. Kiwi's tail in particular was as long as his body. Aegir has average lenght tail. Olav was born with a short tail but when he grew up, his tail became longer and longer and now it is average lenght.

I find it insane that there are some people who genuinely believe crap like "Amy wasn't playable in CD, so it makes no sense for her to be able to keep up with everyone else"

Sonic gets new abilities all the time with zero explanation, and no one questions it. Why do some people find it baffling that Amy is able to keep up in games like heroes and superstars?

Presumably because they think the characters abilities are the result of super powers? I guess?

Amy undergoes a very clear and chartable arc of developing in terms of her physical prowess. She starts out as a damsel in distress, spends most of her story in Adventure running away but ends the story by being able to go toe to toe with a boss robot and pledging to herself that she will only improve further afterwards, and by Heroes has become at least as physically capable as Espio. Sonic Battle even shows that she regularly works out with intense boxcersize routines including wearing body weights Dragon Ball style.

Characters training and practicing and "leveling up" from their experiences is very clearly a normal and expected thing in this setting, and all the characters benefit from it to some degree. Sonic himself is an absolutely wanked out overpowered demi god, but every character is much much stronger now than they were when they were initially introduced.

When it comes to Superstars in particular I think the "canon" playthrough of that game would naturally be one where all four characters are running through the levels and fighting the bosses together as a collective group. The characters all get solo levels which demonstrate their particular talents - Sonic has a running boss fight against Fang, Tails has a mostly platform centric exploration into a base which ends with him fixing up an egg mobile demonstrating his mechanic prowess, Knuckles has a treasure hunt in an ancient city of gold, and Amy mostly collects fruit in a water park and concludes by lending assistance to a newly met ally. She doesn't fight an entire boss all on her own or anything like that. There's really nothing that Amy does in Superstars that supercedes her feat of defeating Zero single handedly in Adventure.

I think it probably comes down to a cultural difference? Like I said before, I feel like sometimes people act as if Sonic et all are the way they are because of some inherent trait like having super powers. There was even a trend on Twitter of people categorizing anime characters on a chart of Gifted Vs Hard Work, and some people insisted that Sonic himself is "gifted", that he "won the genetic lottery", or that he "just showed up one day" all with the implication that their interpretation of Sonic is - to put it crassly - he popped out the pussy being naturally that strong and fast.

And, like. No. That's definitely not how it works. Sonic is not the way that he is because of WHAT he is, but because of WHO he is. Because he's a free spirit who is always on the run to search for new experiences and go on new adventures, to challenge himself and push his limits. He gets stronger because he WORKS for it. He cultivates his abilities and raises his skill floor so even at his worst he is beyond what anybody else is capable of. And every other character is the same way.

The ONLY character I can possibly think of who is genetically gifted in some way is probably Shadow. Shadow was literally created to be the ultimate life form, so he probably came out the box with a significant advantage. Literally everyone else, to put it in gamification terms, started from nothing and racks up EXP to level up. I including Amy.

This is just kind of a thing when it comes to Asian media, frankly. Including Dragon Ball. No, Goku is NOT strong BECAUSE he's an alien, anybody literally anyone in that setting can undergo martial arts training and cultivate their ki and develop the dexterity and acumen necessary to move faster than the human eye can detect and catch bullets with their hands - both feats that the Turtle Hermit displays. But that's a whole other rant. The point is that Sonic and co's abilities being the result of hard work is not even a question for the culture in which they originated. The question of them being "gifted" or having "super powers" only comes up when you're brainwashed by Cape Shit.
