Like, he'll try and turn them into strategies to use on the job, takes, uhm, 'notes', (tactical doodles,) sets up nerdy models using a whiteboard map and improvised figurines, uses these examples when he does those psyche-up pre-battle speeches or during strategy meetings.

'Cause I bet he does, I bet he does that, and it completely kills the momentum of the movie to the point where the rest of the team gets disinterested and slowly leaves him behind to do their own thing.

I genuinely bet Engie wouldn't though, nah, I bet he's enough of a patient kind of gentle kind of man willing to stick through these pauses 'cause he's just that into the movie. And maybe he's just a teeny bit into Soldier's dissections of actiony chaos. Maybe gleans a bit of an understanding of Soldier's thinking that way. Admires the guy's passion about his 'research,' how thoughtfully he gathers details in an effort to help the team. Starts mixing in tapes for these sorts of movies more regularly to their movie night pool maybe subconsciously, maybe on purpose. The rest of the team doing their own movie night. losers.

Now that the strike’s over, I can share my Halloween costume. My sister and I kinda had an unofficial/accidental 80s theme with our costumes; she went as a Ghostbuster and I went as Indiana Jones.

I’m trying to learn how to properly use the whip, it’s a bit shorter than Indy’s, which makes it not fit quite as snugly into the whip holster, and I did get a few beginner’s bruises on my knuckle and back of my legs the first time I tried cracking it; for some strange reason, I’m better cracking the whip with my left hand than with my right hand, dunno why that is…

Anyway, just wanted to share my costume. ^^

Y’all I’m so tired but also low key losing (never mind I’ve already lost it) my f-big mind and sanity. To any of my Indiana folks here ( or if you know anyone who lives in the area) PLEASE (and I’m really begging here) keep an eye open on house/senate bills that are either in the process of getting passed/voted on, or (already passed just waiting for it to be effective??? The wording was weird on some of them and not enough news coverage on certain concerning bills which is kinda scary)

If you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community (in Indiana) PLEASE keep your eye open on HB 1291- this could really f everything up. It ends ALL RECOGNITION of all trans people and intersex people too. They also sneaked in a bill where same sex marriage will be banned and any current same sex married couples who got married here- that marriage won’t be recognized anymore in the state. So please keep your eye and ear open on this bill and prepare yourselves if needed (gather/putting together all documents including marriage licenses, birth certificates (if you have kids), etc. And maybe start making a plan to relocate somewhere safer.

Also abortion laws are about to get more f-ed up too. So keep your eyes open on that as well. And keep an eye out on some of the education bills- one of them is changing the curriculum to avoid teaching about certain historical figures which can lead to avoiding talking about certain historical events in America history. And lastly keep an eye open on the bill that allows child labor too (holy shit this is getting really messed up- I’m already stressed about- so many freaking things- this shit isn’t helping me!)

no, I know too much about the Revolutionary War because for some reason in middle school I got two years of US History instead of one year of US History and one year of World History and my teacher (same teacher both years) had absolutely no sense of timing and spent the whole year covering pre-colonial North America, the French and Indian War, the Revolutionary War, and maybe the War of 1812. We never made it to the Civil War even though as previously stated she had two years with the same kids to cover US history. She just started over again the next year. 

I know teaching is a hard job but like. Why’d she do that? Why am I stuck with this generally un-useful knowledge?

There is definitely something different happening here in Indiana! I just rolled back into town and stopped by my local post office to pick up held mail as well as 200 postcards stamps that I will post about later. I forgot I was wearing my vote gear when a woman in line noticed and asked me where she could go vote early. Before I could even answer two other women started helping her figure out where her closest location was. Then the woman behind me, who mentioned she graduated high school in 1968, said she really likes how Taylor Swift is getting out the vote in a non-partisan fashion. I have never felt so validated in my life. Keeping hope alive for the Hoosier State.

Also, the Democratic Governors Association has just given our candidate another $500k in her race against Mike Braun and his Christian white nationalist running mate. I’m writing at least 200 postcards for a local State Senate candidate in the district just north of me and have signed up to do phone banking for the Governor, US Senate, and Attorney General candidates as much as I can until election day. All of my candidates are women, it’s about fucking time!
