At first this was going to be about the hipocrisy of fandom regarding ichiruki and the sacracity of m/f friendship rep, but then I perceveid it would be stupid since most of them could ship two doors if it was a man and woman, they just are doing mental olympics to disprove it being read as romantic.

But there's a part of this that's really annoying and it's the warriors of m/f friendship being mad at every IR shipper, but never at the people who erases Rukia infuence and importance from Ichigo's life.

Look a lot of giant Bleach accounts try to minimize Ichigo and Rukia relationship, they're the reason as to why Bleach even exist their relationship is the pillar of the entire story, they're soulmates and destined to be together (yes even in a platonic sense), but most of them don't even recognize that, most would say they're besties or share one braincell and that's it... not even having the nerve of saying Ichigo and Rukia are most important person in each other life.

It's really funny how IRs are the horrible ones for shipping two friends, but then get real quiet to the ones who literally ignore Rukia importance/presence, say Renji is actually Ichigo bestie, barely even post official art with these two, never complained about how Rukia and Ichigo bond was dimished in the last arc and in the post ending novel, like? Are you really a fan of their friendship or you are just mad bc people ship them instead of something else? Be serious for a moment! 90% of times folks say they're friends are because they find romantic IR an absurd idea, so many of "their friendship is so precious, such a shame a bunch of freaks ship them 🥺" Is it necessary? Everytime someone say Ichigo and Rukia are friends a whole ass crowd reunites to hate on the ship, I'm sorry but I thought you guys were there to celebrate their friendship? I will never take these people seriously.

Searching for new swimwear and man. Being fat and gender non-conforming really fucking sucks sometimes.

It is deeply frustrating how no clothing is made with me in mind. Plus size clothing is already extremely difficult to shop for, and so much of it is so aggressively gendered, bc fat folks are expected to hyperperform gender to make up for their fatness if they want to be treated like human beings, and are degendered and depersoned otherwise. The double whammy of being fat + gnc makes me feel completely invisible. Nothing fucking fits me.

I’ve never had a pair of swim trunks that have enough room for my ass and thighs or are the right size for my hips and waist. I always have to compromise somewhere. Bc men’s clothing manufacturers don’t make clothes with bodies like mine in mind.

The last time I bought a swim top was two summers ago at a boardwalk shop when I forgot my bathing suit at home. I got the biggest size they had in the store and it was still too small. The cups didn’t have enough space for me, and the underwire wasn’t broad enough. And my choices were either that or not going swimming at all, and god damn it, I want to go swimming in the ocean with my friends. So I wore it and was uncomfortable the whole time.

I got so excited when I saw @giantffa’s recent post about plus size swimwear, but the only options they have for swim tops are string bikinis. They just rest along the fold between the models’ boobs and belly, and don’t actually provide any support. Granted, I haven’t tried this brand, but in my experience, string bikinis give you terrible back & shoulder pain if you tie them tight enough to not instantly fall off your body as soon as you get in the water.

I’m sorry, but I’m just not looking to wear fabric scraps only suitable for lounging by a pool, not even for getting in it. I want to swim in the ocean! With waves! And splash my friends and play chicken without having to worry about a wardrobe malfunction! I want to go surfing and boogie boarding! And I can’t!! Because nothing fits both my style and my body!!

Maybe that’s entitled and I should shut up and get the stupid black one piece with ruffles, but fuck, am I not entitled to wear clothes that I feel good in? Like how thin and gender conforming people get to? Am I not entitled to have the same access to the water and feel comfortable and supported in clothes that fit me?

I'm kinda tired of dungeon meshi fans blatantly misinterpreting Kabru's goals, motivations, and character so they can ship him with Laios...like obviously it's awesome if you enjoy Laikabu but can you nooot twist Kabru's intentions for involving himself with the guy who constantly triggers his monster trauma and pisses him off so bad he gets brain damage so that he turns into "the guy who wants to suck Laios's dick" as his entire character? I've even seen people cut off Kabru's words to make it seem like he is admiring Laios because it would disrupt that narrative

It's the fact that it's not just that their actions are suspicious/indicative of them knowing they have feelings for each other, but their actual dynamic itself has gotten closer. You can feel the build-up without the plot-pertinent conflict around the romance. The romance itself is at its core there too with the tv-typical buildup.

They weren't this close in season 1. We often talk about it as them always having been different and then realizing but they DO have momentum. They WEREN'T this close. Like any other love story, they have been falling in love in front of us, not just noticing themselves.

They were close, closer than the others it seemed. Then they built on that in season 2 - practicing their close dynamic more and getting more used to it one-on-one, building to Mike telling Will how important he was to him near the climax of the season. In season 3, they fought for the first time, breaking some very important relationship ice, in my opinion, fighting. In doing so, they opened up a conversation about their future. One that, even if they didn't continue it, was now out in the open and they knew that the other knew, and that affects dynamics as well. This ended for the season with Mike purposefully subtextually validating that he wanted that future with Will too. closer. In season 4, they fought again, repeating more directly this new dynamic of saying their feelings out in the open, asking "What am I to you? Am I still important to you? As important as I used to be?" and working their way back. Mike took a big step forward in their relationship by not just letting it be swept under the rug like in the past but coming back to address it and voluntarily iterate how much Will means to him and apologize. That indicated to Will that he might be able to do the same, though he ultimately backed out via the El cover-up.

They have built up. Even if their dynamic has remained the same, they have over the course of the seasons been working more and more up in ability to talk with each other about their feelings. That is what needs a climax in season 5 for their relationship. And for "we're slowly improving at acknowledging the feelings we already have" as an arc, there need to be more unspoken feelings than the "you're my best friend" we've established in past intimate conversations.

with my phantom hourglass replay, there are two things i noticed;

a possible theme you could glean from the game is action vs inaction, and i think it's especially prevalent before you even leave mercay the first time, with oshus frequently urging link to not go after the ghost ship, then to just wait until the broken bridge is fixed, and seems reluctant at every turn while link and ciela are more than eager to go and do something about this problem, and the people of mercay in general talking about things and their problems but never seeming to act on their fears or desires, as well as the mention that due to the ghost ship, very very few people are still sailing around, while linebeck is one of the only people we see in the game actively going after the ghost ship and still sailing around. i might make a longer post just talking more about the action vs inaction in phantom hourglass but i just noticed it a bit and thought it was a bit of an interesting sort of theme you could find in the game.

linebeck moves so fucking much. i think he moves more than any npc in the rest of the game. not just in his intro cutscene where he is very animated, just in how much he moves when just standing in his little idle post, it's damn near distracting when the camera is focused on him, he moves a lot. i don't think i've really acknowledged how much he moves, and it really gives the impression that he's antsy or eager to get going, both of which fit him pretty well with how he acts.

i hope when the lisa definitive edition releases old and new players start to see the party members as not only a fun mechanic to progress in the game but also as their second purpose (specified even in their gang page)

which is to tell how different the people of olathe are from eachother from good to neutral to bad.

all of the party members got their own personalities, points of view and goals, which i've always been appreciative of because it makes them all feel like they're their own person and it shows that they're not going to think exactly like you just because they're on your side.

so some of them can be assholes that despise brad for different reasons and are even creepy to buddy and others can just be neutral on the whole thing or don't care about brad but don't hate him and there are others who are nice people who just want someone to hang out and get attached to brad and it pains them to betray him at the end. some of them even got someone they care about too the same way brad cares for buddy.

and all of this is made just so you don't see them only as tools, they are written this way to show you what the people of olathe are like from a closer perspective. the only other way to do this would be using npcs which would go more overlooked, and it already IS overlooked by players

becuz over time i've seen toooo many fans who speak as if absolutely every man in olathe is an asshole and a pedo, which is why they congratulate tooley too much just for being decent to buddy. i like him but you give him too much credit for something other characters do as well.

and they talk like these are just 'olathe standards' and like it's okay for this game when No, this game condemns this type of behavior at all times and it makes it very clear. it's not normal, it's just common

i mean was terry a creep towards buddy??? bo?? carp?? shocklord? birdie? nern? olan? the warlords??? and more characters and there are even npcs who deeply question the stuff going on around buddy or are simply not interested in her

and then i see takes such as "maybe x character is gay becuz they don't seem interested in buddy". pal i can think of a million better reasons to consider a character gay (sometimes no reason at all, have fun). (also again, TOOLEY. i mean he was seen at the beehive, isn't that a better reason to think he's gay??)

you don't need to be a pedo and a rapist to be attracted to women, and it's crazy how little the concept of consent matters to some people, because this isn't the only time i've seen this type of thinking over a piece of media.

this is a way of thinking that comes from people who got into lisa for the fun battles and do not understand the story, and it's sorta okay, it's fine if the battles are your favorite thing or if you're not that fond of emotional stories, but you can't ignore this part of the game, to do that you better just play something else, because my problem is that when you try to explain the emotional matters of lisa's story they never want to listen; they preffer living in their little bubble of misinterpreting everything. (like the amount of times i've tried explaining to other fans why lisa isn't worst than her goddamn dad and it's like talking to a wall) like damn, i love the battles too but i can perfectly have both things yknow.

anyway just my silly little thoughs that have been going thru my mind these past weeks, i take this game too seriously but i also feel like it's dumb not to because that's what it wants you to do.

hope things go well when the definitive edition drops and that everyone enjoys it 8)

This goes for like any fandom, but I think the constant need to ship literally everythingn is very tiring and alienating to aspec fandom members, and people need to learn to better appreciate platonic relationships (not even just in fiction lmao 💀) and that romance has no greater value than friendship.

and when theres canon aspec characters allos need to leave tf alone.

And like, this is fully unrealistic, because people just dont actually Care, but I wish people would ask themselves why they're doing it and why they often feel a need to especially when it's just like. For not reason? If you're invested in the involved characters and like see ways in which they could play off each other well and possibly add to each other's stories, then yeah, it makes sense. But if your doing it just for the sake of doing it (ive noticed a lot of people dont arent actually like invested in the characters themselves, only the ship and it's so ????) I think it's an effect of amatonormativity and you should think about that?? Idk.

Also, back to aspec characters, The way people use the guise of 'queerplatonic relationships' to just ship canon/heavily implied aro characters (and yeah qprs take pretty much any form and it's different for everyone. But when it's an aro characters you're putting in a 'qpr' why does it need to exactly resemble expectations for a romantic relationship?) It's really tiring and honestly. Gross?? And not to do the 'if it was the other way around 🤓☝���' but really, if it was a gay /heavily implied to be gay character, there'd be a lot more outrage about erasure 💀
