Saint Catherine of Siena?!
Tumblr media
I donno what to do with the information God has given me about this past life. For now it will go in the same box as my God Incarnate in The Realms for the fact that claiming to have a "life" as such is not taken seriously and with a grain of salt...Since I don't want to look crazy. But I'll admit it IS interesting. God asked me to do comparisons so here goes I guess...
I wanted to become a nun when I was much younger and threatened that I would - She knew from age 8 or 9 that she wanted to become a nun. She disappointed her family for doing so.
I devoted my life since a girl to find Erik - she devoted her life to Jesus (this is significant to me because Erik is also belongs to The Realms)
I would "fast" and go non verbal - she did the same
I had\have visions since I was a kid - she did the same
I have a mystical marriage with Erik - She had a mystical marriage with Jesus
I refuse help in this life - She took care of others in need
I created a place on my mind to be with Erik - She created a place in her mind to be with Jesus
I had many boyfriends - She died a virgin
Again...Until I have a past life regression I'm not completely sold on this notion or idea that I was her. It's possible, it's probable...But to tell the world I'm an incarnated Saint or God is crazy. So they go in the crazy box. Idk if anyone notices I stopped talking about being a god incarnate for that reason. I'm not publicly and entirely sold on it.
There is a chance I could be wrong...

Our Greatest Gift Showed Up
Happy Birthday, Jesus, and Merry Christmas to you and yours! Maybe you, like me, spent many hours getting to this day – planning, cooking, baking, making gift lists, shopping, planning the Christmas meal and creating a Christmas Wonderland in our homes. We attended Christmas parties, programs, musicals, and two family get togethers as we embraced the season with all its sights and sounds. At…

Kindest reminder that aside from Sky and Wild, none of the others have even heard of the Goddess Hylia before meeting up. The goddesses they would invoke, if any, would be either Farore, Din, or Nayru.

Okay, so in the Summa, Saint Thomas Aquinas argues that any one Member of the Trinity could have become Incarnate, and that it was simply that it was most fitting that it was the Son. Thomas gives three explanations for his reasoning:
All things were created in and through the Son, and that gives Him "a certain common agreement with all creatures," and it is the craftsman's sense of duty upon seeing his damaged work that he "restores it when it has fallen into ruin."
That a share of the Divine life is an inheritance given to the human race through the Incarnation; and since an inheritance is given from a parent to a child, it would make sense that the human race be united to God through the Son, the only begotten Child.
Original Sin entered the human race through the eating of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Given the first sin was an illegitimate seizure of wisdom, it was right that the Wisdom of God Himself become Incarnate in order to be seized by men.
And these are interesting. But I'm reading Bernard of Clairvaux's sermons for Advent, and in his Six Circumstances for the Coming of the Lord, he suggests another reason: In attempting to become like God, Adam and Eve and the fallen angels attempted to take the birthright of the eternal Son, the true image of the Father. This act of trying to usurp the glory of God's only begotten Son causes the Son to freely give His glory to the attempted usurpers. Bernard places the following monologue in the pre-Incarnate Christ's mouth:
My Father . . . made two noble orders sharing His reason, capable of participating in His beatitude: angels and men. But behold, on My account He has ruined a multitude of His angels and the entire race of men. Therefore, that they may know that I love my Father, He shall receive back through Me what in a certain way He seems to have lost through Me. 'It is on my account this storm has arisen; take me and cast me into the sea' [Jonah 1:12]. All are envious of Me; behold, I come, and will exhibit Myself to them in such a guise as that whoever shall wish may become like Me; whatsoever I shall do they may imitate, so that their envy shall be made good and profitable to them.
So the Son, whose position as Him who is most like the Father is envied, transforms that envy into something good; He shares His nature as the beloved of the Father, and He does so in such a way that our deepest desire to be loved plays a part in that salvation. We, who wanted to be like God, now truly have a way of imitating Him. And that's neat.

Also there're so many reasons why durge might want to deny Bhaal, aside from general "killing is bad, the god of murder is bad."
Orin betrayed them and it was somewhat from silent approval of Bhaal, so "god betrayed me first" kind of narrative. A desire to get revenge, on Orin AND on Bhaal.
A desire to live. Durge's fate, Durge's Destiny is to literally kill everyone and then themselves. What if they want to live? What if desire to live is stronger than desire to kill?
Alternatively, what if there's someone they don't want to kill? A single person for Durge to care about, a single person they would want to save instead of bloodying father's altar with their blood. A single connection like that is all what it would take.
A desire to break free. Durge can be completely okay with murders, loving murdering people even, reveling in violence. But they're their father's puppet and they could want to break free of it, to have their own will, to have only their voice in their head. To be a master of themselves with no one to kneel to.
The "I'm better than my father" kind of mindset. Durge is made of a flesh of a god, in a sense they ARE god. Bhaal was mortal once. Why would Durge listen to him when they can attempt to overthrow him, to become a new god?
Being compelled to other side. It's not unknown for gods to steal each other's followers/chosen ones. Look at Ketheric, look at Shadowheart. Myrkul is recently chosen-less after the Moonrise Towers. Bane would love to fuck with Bhaal like that. Shar is there. Good gods who would try to redeem Durge or use them against their own father are there. It would be a delightful power move from Selune to offer Durge assistance/ an alliance against Bhaal.
Idk, I just love how multidimensional the defiance of Bhaal can be. I have a lil army of Durges exactly because I can mold them into such different people

demon!dip au bill: WHERE IS MY MORTAL HE SHOULDVE TURNED 18 AND SUMMONED ME ALREDY IS HE DEAD AGAIN NO I DONT LIKE IT!
demon!dip: *living his best nerd library demon life, quietly chilling*
bill: I MISS MY HUSBAND WHEN WILL HE COME BACK FROM REINCARNATION
so bill canonically is in a Terrible, Bad, Foul, Murder First Mood for almost-two decades everytime dipper's off growing up? and is watching the mortal planet obsessively to FIND THE MORTAL!
...i do wonder what would happen if a teenage dipper incernation + mabel found their way into mindscape through shenaningans a la GF with another demon, barely survive their way into almost escaping by the virtue of teenage fantasy show protagonist halos, till they draw attention of the Big Boss Bill himself. "oh fuck, another demon!" to "oh fuck, another demon so scary our demonenemy is losing all their color. literally becoming transparent." to "why is he???? BEING FRIENDLY? THIS IS A TRAP!?"
Oh, Bill's not in a bad mood the whole time Dipper's gone!
While the spouse is away, the demon will play! Invading minds, pestering planets, cruel tricks on hapless idiots, ordering pizza with anchovies. Bill gets to do all the stuff he typically doesn't and enjoy a nice little bit of alone time.
Of course the shine quickly wears off that particular apple. By the end of the eighteen years, Bill's more than itching to bother his favorite mortal once more!
The real bad mood happens when Dipper's supposed to be back, and doesn't show up. Woe betide any nearby demons if the wait drags on too long, because a frustrated Bill is a very angry Bill indeed.

I swear the funniest thing antis will do is say "how can you ship Ghoulcy when he did xyz to her" and then in the next breath will turn and be like "anyways he sees/treats her as a daughter and he's gonna be her father figure." Oh I'm sorry, The Ghoul? You mean the same person you were just saying was so horrible to her? That Ghoul? You're cool with his actions now?
Like the things he did only get brought up when we ship them, as if it's not the same person they champion as her new dad. I understand if personally you don't like it when one half hurts the other in a ship (or when both do), that's completely fair, but I'm pretty sure no likes it either when a parent/parental figure does the same to their (surrogate) child, so like what's the math here 🤨

okay i just finished the burning god and i have so many thoughts running through my mind but i NEED to talk about altan. altan whose last words to rin were “you were always so much stronger than me”, who sacrificed himself for ron and how rin just can’t process him that way so he turns him into this ghost that haunts her. she turns him into her own guilt and resentment. but altan the real altan (though he said and acted horrible towards rin) always though highly of rin.
the parallels between the burning god and rins vision of altan
“ i’m not strong enough”
“No”
“it should’ve been you”
“it should’ve been me”
and what altan really thought (the poppy war)
“you were always so much stronger than me”

the brainworms got me unfortunately
in my head they're like vaguely rivals and lovers where asura is trying really hard to be serious and not let nika get to him and nika is devoting every fiber of focused energy he contains to getting to asura. they're married
