looking back on the fic I've written in the last few years and my own sexuality journey has made me realize that there is an argument that poly folk and ace/aro folk process love in a lot of the same ways, like the idea that you can have significant, life-defining relationships with different people and you get something important and sometimes even a similar flavor from each relationship but each one is still fundamentally different and significant in its own way and sometimes you don't want sex but you do want hugs and your partner may be having sex with their other partner but that does not make your relationship any less important because they come back to hug you and having more hearts bound up in your own is never a bad thing, because being loved no matter the form is never a bad thing, you are lovable and you can love so many people and having a heart overflowing with love for other people and things and the universe just means that you're healing and finding the people who fit you in whatever way that comes and there will always be someone cooking in the kitchen filling your heart and stomach no matter what and in this essay i will-

I personally don’t like Dillion/Summer

I mean.. it’s okay. But I just found it super boring. It feels like a lot of Summer’s character revolves around Dillion and she doesn’t really have a chance to stand as her own character. A lot of her time on the show was saving Dillion’s ass and.. their chemistry didn’t feel that strong for me to consider it romantic

i love power rangers rpm.

i do not talk about power rangers. it is the one hyperfixation I keep to myself, but I must say it now. I love power rangers rpm. it takes the cheesy, campy, ridiculousness of your typical tokusatsu power rangers series, and grounds it in a world that is fucking ruined. Most of humanity is fucking dead and the survivors are forced to defend what little is left, and the only advantage humanity has left is a handful of people in superpowered spandex. Like this is a show for kids from 2009 that exists to sell toys, but it tries so hard to tell an interesting story with what they have. I straight up LOVE how they use the cheesiness in their stories too, like, the rangers comment about how they're very concerned about the explosions that appear behind them every time they morph and then, same episode, they use the explosions to fucking blow up a mob of mooks, it's so fucking schlocky and fun and it took so many risks, and I absolutely love it.

Second of all-

Okay but seriously jsjs

🩶💙 Gemma/Flynn:

- for starters, their ship name, to me, is Cobalt (bc it’s both a metal & a shade of blue + it also fits with their shared engineering hobby ✨)

- Gemma is an AuDHD pan woman & Flynn is her token cishet white dude boyfriend who loves her very much (the thought of Flynn being like, the one straight person in his otherwise very queer friend group is just rlly funny to me~)

- Gemma also uses her diary as an ideas notebook/invention planner & a sketchbook; she likes to draw, & she has a very good eye for art & design; she has a bunch of drawings of Flynn in there :]

- Flynn doesn’t exactly ‘get’ Gemma’s more “childish” interests, but he’s very supportive, & he’s definitely gifted her an accumulative army of plushies at this point lol

- They LOVE watching shows/movies together (usually superhero media, but I’m sure Flynn is also a glass closet fan of at least some non-superhero anime as well~ ✨)

💚🤍 Ziggy/Dr. K (Greenscreen my beloveds 🫶):

- They’re bi-ace4bi-ace & Ziggy is transmasc non-binary (he/they); they’re also both autistic & Ziggy has ADHD

- Ziggy can only barely pick up K when morphed, but she can pick him up with little to no issue (is it because she’s actually jacked, or is it because Ziggy has a bmi of 2? who knows, maybe both-)

- K is incredibly touch starved & Ziggy is very physically affectionate, so they’re more cuddly than one might expect jsjs

- They’ve both become impulse-buying plushie collectors while dating & their living space very much reflects this lol

- Most of their ‘dates’ are spent snuggled up on the couch watching movies while eating junk food (Megamind & Lego Batman are a couple of their go-tos); when they do go out, it’s typically for a mall Build-a-Bear date, or sometimes an aquarium date- (accompanied by ice cream usually~)

I’m gonna stop there so I don’t go on forever but I hope this suffices sksk
