Alright here me out.
A shazam/captain marvel rpg oneshot.
Ok so this idea was based on a post I saw which was Billy trying to explain his powers in dnd terms which got me thinking about how fun it would be to play a Shazam based dnd esc game.
I have a few ideas for how I’d write the storyline but no idea on the stats or game system I would use.
—Stats n stuff—
I was thinking about how maybe stats of the gods could possibly line up with character stat sheets. Yknow how each shazamily family member has a specific god power associated with them? Like how Darla is speed and Pedro is strength, etc. Those could align with dexterity and strength stats or something. Im sure there are probably some better ways to execute that but you get the idea.
Of course this would be completely dependent on the game I’m using. I was thinking just using dnd 5e (I think thats the regular dnd but Im not sure anymore) or Masks which was made for superhero rpg. However Im scared of using dnd since it can be pretty rule heavy and not very flexible. Masks was made specifically for superhero rpgs but it also costs quite a bit of money. If anyone has any ideas for what I should use I beg you comment them.
—Story—
The story will mostly just be me stealing ideas and lore from various different versions of Shazam, however mainly stealing from the 90’s, The Power of Shazam!, The Golden Age Comics/Whiz Comic, and The New Champion of Shazam series.
This is because these stories mainly just focus on Billy, Mary, and Freddy which I think would be easier to incorporate into the plot rather than having to juggle all 6 shazamily members at once (also it’d be hell to voice act/play as all of them as the gm)
I also don’t want my players to be forced to play preexisting characters (the shazamily or other DC heroes) so that they don’t feel like they have to fit into their roles yknow? And obviously so they just generally have more freedom with character design. So they will all play completely new characters of their liking.
The players will all play child/teen/possibly young adult characters who either a.) have no idea who each other are. Or b.) are in a foster home together already. The latter is probably the better option though because then there’ll be no need for a “you all are in a tavern…” type opening.
Later on they all get teleported to the Rock of Eternity and are told that the wizard is desperate and need them to help stop his last champion (who they probably will assume is Black Adam but is actually the end boss which I reveal later in this post)
They will all get the Shazam powers however I’ll randomize which specific one each of them get (like one of them is like Darla with superspeed or another is like eugene with his stronger lighting). They aren’t as strong as the other champion though because they all share the power like in the Power of Shazam and The New Champion of Shazam. This is honestly just applied so my players aren’t absolutely stacked though and for plot sake.
Also the Wizard dies since he had given the very last bit of his powers to the players. Also the wizard dies in like half the canon stories anyways so there’s that.
Some fight ensues soon after they get their powers mostly so the players can get a handle of their abilities and so suddenly Mary can show and help them defeat the opponent.
This leads to the introduction of Mary who is probably shocked to see new champions. As it turns out Billy/Cap has gone missing alongside Freddy/Cap Jr and she needs the players help to find them.
As for the middle section of the plot…Im still thinking about it. I know there will be some magical mythological creatures to fight though! And maybe I’ll take my players to Hell just for fun since Billy has a weird habit of going there in the comics.
As for the big bad guy final boss…Its Billy! Er I guess I should say Captain Marvel. However he is under the control of Mr. Mind, who wants to take over the world as per usual. However he realizes that Captain Marvel is sharing power with the players alongside Mary and Freddy. This leads him to attempt the kill them all as a way to regain Captain Marvels to his full power and therefore being way more adapt for taking over the world. So far he has managed to capture Freddy and is what he used to lure them into battle in the first place.
Fighting alongside him is Tawny. This version of Tawny is basically just a very large tiger imbued with magic and with the power to talk rather than being anthropomorphic. Tawny in this universe also acts more like a familiar to Cap and is summoned through his magic. However since Cap is under the control of Mr. Mind, the magic he uses to summon him is also under the control if that makes sense.
The players fight cap and depending how they do in battle will be able to free Cap. Or not. Haven’t planned the bad ending out out yet.
——
Thats all I have so far, man I didn’t realize how long this had gotten…
If anyone has any ideas for the plot and especially how I should execute this oneshot I BEG you comment them.
Lastly if you read all of this thanks for listening to my rambling, it felt nice to get the idea out.
Have a great day! ❤️

Unveiling the Grammy Award Voting Process: An Insider's Perspective by Grant Maloy Smith
by Levi Wise Kenneth Catoe Jr.
Tumblr media
Grant Maloy Smith is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and former businessman from Jacksonville, Florida. We both are on the Grammy voting committee members so I sat down to have an in-depth conversation with Grant regarding the Grammy Awards. The Grammy Awards, simply known as the Grammys are awards presented by the Recording Academy of the United States to recognize outstanding achievements in the music industry. They are regarded by many as the most prestigious and significant awards in the music industry worldwide. They were originally called the Gramophone Awards, as the trophy depicts a gilded gramophone.
Tumblr media
Levi Wise Kenneth Catoe Jr.: Hi Grant, As a Grammy voting member, could you please explain the nomination and voting process for the Grammy Awards?
Grant Maloy Smith: The Grammy process works in two stages. First, members are allowed to submit their works to NARAS (the organization that runs the Grammys among other things) to be on the ballot. Members indicate which fields and categories they intend their work to be in. Each entry is reviewed by committees that listen and make sure that the works fit into the desired fields and categories. If they determine, for example, that an album of Contemporary Instrumental music really belongs in New Age music, they will move it there. When the entry deadline has closed there is some time before the first round of voting begins. Record labels as well as independent artists normally use this time to promote their entries within the larger music community using email, social media, and advertisements in magazines like Billboard, Rolling Stone, etc. There are several membership levels in NARAS, and voting members are the ones who are allowed to vote. Members log in securely to their individual accounts to enter their music and cast their votes. The first round of voting determines who the nominees are. The exact definition for the various fields and categories changes from time to time, as determined by NARAS. Most categories have five nominees, but a few have eight. There is another interval of time between the announcement of the nominees and when the second round of voting takes place. The results are kept secret until the actual Grammy Awards in February or March each year.
Tumblr media
LWC: As far as the Grammys I find it to be very competitive to get nominated and less competitive to win; I would go as far as to say in the past 10 years it’s the same people winning the top honors (Song of the Year, Record of the Year) which seems to always be Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Adele but what is your take on the lack diversity?
GMS: The Big Five awards usually go to Pop or Hip-Hop artists. This is to be expected because the Grammys were founded to promote record sales, so obviously the main focus is on the biggest, most mainstream artists. But honestly, I don’t really follow Pop or Hip-Hop music, so it doesn’t really affect me.
LWC: The former Recording Academy (Grammys) President Neil Portnow’s comment on Jan. 30, 2018, about the lack of female representation at the Grammy Awards generated backlash from some of the most powerful women in music and led to his resignation. What were your feelings on that comment and how did it impact the Grammy making decisions?
GMS: Neil was both right and wrong. He complained that women were often underrepresented in the music business, which is true. But then he said that it was the women’s fault and that they needed to step up. He was wrong to blame them for a situation that they did not cause.
LWC: Do you have any thoughts on the recent statements made by Kanye West and Beyoncé regarding their lack of recognition for top awards at the Grammys? It's an issue that has been a topic of much debate and discussion, and I'm curious to hear your perspective on the matter.
GMS: They are adults and they can say whatever they like, but I don’t think it’s a good look to complain when you’re rich and famous.
LWC: As a member of the Grammy decision-making process, I cannot help but notice the misunderstanding surrounding the true nature of this prestigious award. People often assume that a Grammy is merely a reflection of mainstream popularity - a mere extension of the latest trends and fads. However, this is not the case. The Grammy Awards are a serious competition, judged by experienced and dedicated musicians who prioritize actual music and musicality over fleeting trends. That is why it is not uncommon for the winners to be those who are not necessarily the most popular, but those who truly excel in their craft. So let us not be misled by popular opinion and remember the true essence of the Grammy Awards - a celebration of true musical talent and excellence. What are your thoughts on this matter?
GMS: The purpose of all of the Oscars is to get more people to the movies. The purpose of the Tony’s is to fill more seats on Broadway and off-Broadway. In the late 1950s, the record labels saw what a huge effect the glitz and glamor of the Academy Awards were having on movie attendance, so they started the Grammy Awards to generate excitement and sell more records. They are promotional tools for their respective industries. I would say that all of these awards are primarily about the business. Quality matters, of course, but it’s not the only thing at play with these big awards.
LWC: Can we discuss the backlash against Beyoncé's recent foray into Country music? Furthermore, do you think that this was a calculated move to earn her the Song of the Year win? From my perspective, it seems like a shrewd decision. However, I'm curious about your own thoughts on the matter. Let's delve into this intriguing topic together.
Tumblr media
GMS: I don’t know Beyoncé so don’t know what her motivations were for making this shift. She is a truly gifted singer who goes far beyond pop music. I’ve heard her sing opera and it was stunning. I am aware of the backlash, but I am not on that train.
LWC: Grant, we have been friends for years meeting one another as Grammy members and we are mutually supportive of one another as artists should be. Please share with our readers where you are now, of your Billboard success and where to find you, and also the community that we are both a member of Indie Collaborative of which you are the co-founder my friend please share.
GMS: I am just wrapping up the recording of my third album in the AMERICAN STORIES series. These are theme albums that are about major events or aspects of our culture. The first one was DUST BOWL: AMERICAN STORIES. That’s the one that was on Billboard charts for four months, including 11 weeks in the top 10 on the Americana/Folk album sales chart, #12 on the Country album sales chart, and even hit #1 on several of the Heatseekers charts. I achieved that by lots of advertising with Google to sell digital downloads. Each of these records takes me 3-4 years because of all the research that I do to determine what songs to write and to find the essence of the  story. The second one was APPALACHIA: AMERICAN STORIES and the one that will be released this summer is MISSISSIPPI: AMERICAN STORIES. I think this is the best one yet, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. You can get a sneak peek here:
On my website you can hear music, watch my videos, and learn more about everything that I do. It also has links to all of my social media and streaming links on Apple, Amazon, Spotify, YouTube, etc.
If you’re an independent musician, I invite you to join the Indie Collaborative. Emmy-winning writer and Broadway librettist Eileen Sherman and I co-founded the IC in 2015 in New York City. Since then, we have grown to more than 2000 members from all around the world. We are all about fostering musical collaborations among our members. There is no cost to be a member and to have your profile on our website. There are about 1200 profiles on there already – including yours! Your readers can learn more about the IC and join for free at:
LWC: Thank you so much, Grant. See you next year at the Grammy festivities God willing.

the Wrestler: Volume 26, 2009
THE RAGE OF ORTON
Are Randy’s Anger Issues Holding Him Back?
A little rage is a good thing in wrestling. A little rage can go a long way, but a lot of rage can lead to a lot of frustration and more anger and then back to some more rage. It’s exactly this vicious cycle Randy Orton needs to escape if he’s to regain the World title
BY DAVE LENKER
ANY SEINFELD FAN worth his piping-hot bowl of Soup Nazi-prepared mulligatawny soup should remember the episode which portly, bumbling, perennially frustrated George Costanza becomes obsessed with getting an apology from a character played by James Spader who is going through a 12-step program as part of an effort to beat alcoholism.
George becomes so angry over the fact that seemingly everyone else but him gets an apology for being wrong by “Jason Hanky” that he seeks out the recovering drunk’s sponsor in the 12-steps program and complains vehemently to him. Rather than help him get his apology, the sponsor ends up tricking George into attending a Rage-a-Holics Anonymous meeting.
Of course, George just keeps getting madder and madder at the meeting, all because he has to deal with so many pinheads around him.
As every scene in every episode of Seinfeld was, this was all played for laughs… and brilliantly so. George can’t see how foolish he looks.
Randy Orton seems to be headed down a path very similar to poor old George, but we don’t want to confront Randy Orton with our fun little comparison. He probably wouldn’t see the humor and might be tempted to unleash an RKO. Given his demeanor of late well… just not a good idea.
Then again, maybe he could use a little Seinfeld chatter, a good joke, or a Mad-Lib, a spicy limerick–something, anything that will get him to lighten up and get off this angry-at-the-world kick. Like George Costanza in that episode, he insists his anger is all the world’s fault, only it looks a lot different when you’re on the outside peering in. More and more it’s appearing that the joke is going to be on him, and everyone around him will be privately laughing if they aren’t already doing so.
[Orton’s anger has eroded his association with Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase Jr. (below) and cost former Raw GM Mike Adamle (opposite page) his job. Whatever is fueling Orton’s inner rage affecting others in WWE.]
These days, Orton is a little too much of a one-trick “Legend Killer.” In fact, he’s not much of a slayer of legends at all. He’s too busy getting ticked off. Furious. Angry. Enraged. Call up the synonym function on your computer along with us, because he’s going to fit all of them.
Completely unfocused, too.
We’re not entirely sure why. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he injured his shoulder against Triple-H last year, then sat out and rehabbed and got ready to come back, then foolishly hopped on his motorcycle and hurt himself all over again. More time out, more rehab, more time to think and stew. Damn the back luck, and even worse timing!
Just think back a few months and consider all the anger. He and C.M. Punk had virtually no history, and yet Orton unleashed all his rage and fury on the new World champion. Why? All because Punk was the World champion, Orton was still hurt, and he felt he should still have that big gold belt strapped around his waist.
It was Orton’s rage-filled attack on Punk at Unforgiven in September that took Punk out of the Raw Championship Scramble match and his chance to defend the World title. As a result, Chris Jericho slithered in and took the title. Punk has yet to regain the momentum he had at the time.
Then there was his verbal feud with then-Raw General Manager Mike Adamle. Somehow–and so quickly–it got to the point at which Orton gave Shane McMahon an ultimatum: One of them had to go (Adamle resigned). Heck, Orton got Adamle so angry at one point that he slapped Orton! Again, it seemed like it all stemmed from Orton believing he deserved to have someone in power simply take the World title belt and hand it over to him just, um, because.
Now, as he battles Batista and they revisit their old post-Evolution feud of four years ago, Orton must also deal with the growing hostility between him and his very unofficial backup group, that of Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase Jr., and Manu. BiBiase foolishly tried to help him in a recent match with Punk in which Orton didn’t seem to need much aid, and Orton didn’t appreciate it.
But was it wise to react with such rage and violence against DiBiase et al.? Does he need a little side feud with those three? There’s a nasty little no-win situation for him.
We could understand his frustration there, but what’s the point? Presumably those three really did intend to help, as an alliance with Orton only serves to give them a boost. Now we get angry nose-to-nose confrontation after angry nose-to-nose confrontation.
“I don’t know what his deal really is,” said Punk (Quite calmly, we might add). “It wasn’t that long ago that he had this kind of cool confidence about him. Now it’s like he’s ready to explode at any time. Maybe he thinks this way works for him, maybe he’s trying to be all ‘Stone-Cold’ Steve Austin from 1998 about this, but I'm not really getting it. Not at all.”
Once upon a time, Orton had a real sense of humor. Remember when he first started having shoulder issues? This was shortly after he debuted on WWE TV, and he’d give tongue-in-cheek updates on his status and proposed return date every Monday night. He gave it a go as a fan favorite after he was Batista bombed out of Evolution, even gave us a little humor when he brought his father, Bob Jr., on board during a feud with The Undertaker. Then he got a little obsessive with his legacy and superiority over the rest of the Raw brand when he took advantage of John Cena’s injury to steal the WWE title a year ago. He even had a really nice seven-month run with the belt.
Orton isn’t treading through a crisis looking for the right persona like so many have over the years. He isn’t trying out different nicknames and looks. He’s just searching for the right approach. If he weren’t so apt to attack him, too, maybe a much-needed heart-to-heart with his old pal and mentor Triple-H would help him (see sidebar).
There were undoubtedly some rage and temper issues with which Orton had to deal in years past, and they were all too real. He was suspended for 60 days for unprofessional conduct shortly after WrestleMania 21 in 2005, and stories of his behavior on various WWE tours weren’t hard to come by. Some of these stories were likely exaggerated. Now, as he has reportedly settled into a quieter life as a husband and father away from the spotlight, the anger becomes an issue inside the ropes.
[“Let fury have the hour. Anger can be power!” goes an old punk song. But for Orton, the need to completely destroy opponents–as he did to Jeff Hardy–may just get in the way of winning another WWE World title.]
“I think he’s playing right into the hands of someone like Batista right now,” offered John Cena. “It’s funny to me that Batista is the calm one for the most part in that feud. And what do they call him? ‘The Animal,’ right? Pretty ironic, don’t you think?”
And pretty upsetting to Orton that Cena squeezed ahead of him in line and won the World title despite having been out of sight and out of mind with an injury for several months. Batista is in a better spot, too, it seems. Maybe even Shawn Michaels and JBL. Chris Jericho is clearly the much hotter heel.
As we’ve pointed out, we understand Orton’s frustration. We understand because we’ve taken the time to step back and look at the entire situation. He needs to do the same. If he does that, he’ll figure out that he’s the source of much of his own frustration. Then maybe he’ll do something productive to change that.

2024 NFL MOCK DRAFT
FINAL - Thursday, April 25
ROUND ONE
1 CHICAGO (FROM CAR) - QB Caleb Williams (USC)
Caleb is going #1 regardless of which team drafts him. Teams in the top-10 like Washington and New England are sure to make juicy offers. Williams is the most prized QB prospect since Andrew Luck, and once the Bears shed themselves of Justin Fields, this was a done deal.
2 WASHINGTON - QB Jayden Daniels (LSU)
The Commanders will make every attempt to trade up one spot for hometown hero Caleb Williams, but the more likely scenario is they get stuck with their 2nd choice at QB. LSU coach Brian Kelly intimated that this would be their pick at #2. Daniels takes way too many big hits, so he’s going to remind Washington of Robert Griffin III. Let’s hope his career lasts a little longer.
3 MINNESOTA (PROJ. TRADE W/NE) - QB J.J. McCarthy (Michigan)
I don’t get it, but apparently NFL GM’s love J.J. McCarthy’s potential. I’m trying to predict what WILL happen, not what I think SHOULD happen. The Vikings move aggressively and methodically up the board for their new signal caller.
Minnesota gives up their two first-rounders (11 & 23) and a 2nd-rounder next year. The Patriots - even without Belichick’s influence - continue their tradition of trading down.
4 ARIZONA - WR Marvin Harrison, Jr. (Ohio State)
The Cardinals would be profoundly lucky to be able to stay at #4 and still get the 2nd best player in the draft. Harrison seems to be custom made for NFL greatness. He’ll be the best in the league within three years… provided Kyler Murray gets his act together.
5 LA CHARGERS - WR Malik Nabers (LSU) !
Jim Harbaugh will certainly want to establish a run game in LA, so an offensive tackle might be the choice here. But Nabers is a tool too tempting to pass up. Mike Williams was a cap casualty and Keenan Allen was traded away, so they certainly have a need for him.
6 NY GIANTS - QB Drake Maye (North Carolina)
Maye is nobody’s first choice, and his bad tape is really bad. But the Giants are dead-set against Daniel Jones going into 2024 with no competition. They give Evan Neal a 2nd chance (which worked with Andrew Thomas after a lousy rookie year) and pass on Alt.
7 TENNESSEE - OT Joe Alt (Notre Dame)
The Titans commit to Will Levis and give him a valuable protector.
8 ATLANTA - EDGE Dallas Turner (Alabama)
The Falcons have addressed their offense in free agency so they can turn to the defense in the draft. Turner is the edge defender they’ve needed for years.
9 CHICAGO - WR Rome Odunze (Washington)
The new-look Bears offense will need some weapons for Caleb Williams. Keenan Allen isn’t exactly “new.” This could be a potent connection for years.
10 NY JETS - TE Brock Bowers (Georgia)
Another new toy for Aaron Rodgers. Or at least one he’ll watch from the sidelines after he ruptures another body part on the first drive. The Jets have diddly at the position and Rodgers loves his TE’s.
11 NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/MIN) - CB Quinyon Mitchell (Toledo)
The Pats have a plan for the QB position, but it doesn’t involve passing on all the great players available at #11. They’ll take their top corner off the board and pair him with Christian Gonzalez to hopefully form the best pair of young d-backs in the league. Mitchell has wowed GM’s this post-season.
12 DENVER - QB Michael Penix, Jr. (Washington) +
The Broncos couldn’t make a deal for a veteran QB and they don’t have the muscle to trade up. They’re stuck with Jarrett Stidham and Zach WIlson as their QB options so far. They may opt to trade down and still select Penix, but in this scenario, they reach for him.
13 LAS VEGAS - DT Byron Murphy II (Texas)
Signing Christian Wilkins will help the team’s interior greatly, but they still need some help there. Murphy says he’s guaranteed to be drafted in the top half of the first round. Could be BS; could be inside information.
14 NEW ORLEANS - OT Olu Fashanu (Penn State)
The Saints have a long tradition of selecting offensive linemen high in the draft, and what a great time to have so many draftable candidates at #14 - at a time of great need.
15 INDIANAPOLIS - CB Terrion Arnold (Alabama)
The Colts make the most of what they’ve got, but they really don’t got a lot. Just about every position is a position of need, and Arnold might end up being the best corner coming out this year.
16 SEATTLE - CB/S Cooper DeJean (Iowa)
DeJean may be needed at safety with the losses of Diggs and Adams, but he’s perfectly capable of playing corner. That may be his future.
17 JACKSONVILLE - OT Taliese Fuaga (Oregon State)
The Jags have been unhappy with their line play in recent years. Cam Robinson is average when he’s not on IR and Walker Little is little more than an effective back-up. Fuaga slots into RT immediately. He’s an excellent pass protector but he could benefit greatly by moving to guard eventually.
18 CINCINNATI - G/C Jackson Powers-Johnson (Oregon)
Adding Trent Brown helps fortify the outside of the Cincy o-line, but the interior still needs a hand. Ted Karras is a free agent after this season, so they draft his eventual replacement. Powers-Johnson can improve one of the guard spots until then.
19 LA RAMS - EDGE Laiatu Latu (UCLA) +
It’s been a long time since the Rams had a pick this high, so they need to make this count. They add to their youthful D-line with a boost to their pass rush.
20 PITTSBURGH - DT Jer’zhan “Johnny”  Newton (Illinois)
Cam Heyward is just about done, and Larry Ogunjobi is easily replaceable. Newton teams with Keeanu Benton and DeMarvin Leal to form the Steelers line of the future.
21 WASHINGTON (PROJ. TRADE W/MIA) - OT J.C. Latham (Alabama)
The Dolphins have very few picks in this draft - including just two in the first four rounds. So they make a deal with Washington, and the Commanders select the left tackle they’ve been missing for years. They see the OT’s disappearing fast, so they package a few of their plentiful picks to move back into the 1st.
Washington deals picks #36 and 67 to move up to this spot.
22 PHILADELPHIA - WR Brian Thomas, Jr. (LSU)
A.J. Brown might have overstayed his welcome in Philly. If he’s dealt before/during day one of the draft, they might have a hard time passing up Brian Thomas.
23 NEW ENGLAND (PROJ. TRADE W/MIN FROM HOU THRU CLE) - QB Bo Nix (Oregon)
The Pats are fine with Jacoby Brissett as their temporary starter, but they love the potential of Nix. He developed incredible accuracy during his 47-year college career.
24 DALLAS - OL Graham Barton (Duke)
The Cowboys built their dynasty on the backs of their offensive line. Now that key parts of their 2023 line are gone, they’ll focus on a rebuild. Barton can train at all 5 position, but he’ll be immediately needed at center.
25 GREEN BAY - OT Amarius Mims (Georgia)
The Packers made the most of what they had last year, but their offensive line was in tatters. David Bakhtiari was elite, but injuries sapped his strength and now he’s gone. Time to rebuild.
26 TAMPA BAY - OT/G Troy Fautanu (Washington)
The Bucs keep getting hit along the interior of their offensive line. With Baker Mayfield getting the big bucks to re-sign with the team, he’ll need the help of someone like Troy Fautanu to protect him.
27 ARIZONA (thru HOU) - EDGE Jared Verse (Florida State)
The Cardinals need everything. Pick anyone. It’ll help.
28 BUFFALO - WR Troy Franklin (Oregon)
With the fire sale going on in Buffalo right now, it’s possible the team already believes they’ve missed their Super Bowl window. Jordan Poyer and Tre’Davious White were released, and both of last season’s starting wide receivers are gone. The restocking can begin here with a speedy Duck.
29 DETROIT - EDGE Chop Robinson (Penn State)
Aidan Hutchinson needs lots of help. They’re out of Okwaras and John Cominsky ain’t getting to the quarterback. Chop is a little smaller than ideal but he’s got great athleticism.
30 BALTIMORE - CB Nate Wiggins (Clemson)
The Ravens need to get younger at corner and quickly. Wiggins has outstanding instincts for the position, but his frame might not hold up.
31 SAN FRANCISCO - OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
Trent Willams says he wants to play for a few more years, but the Niners have an opportunity to train his replacement and acquire a top-tier backup.
32 KANSAS CITY - WR/KR Xavier Worthy (Texas)
With the legal troubles facing Rashee Rice - just about the only bright spot on the Chiefs wide receiving corps - Kansas City needs to grab one of this year’s elite WRs at #32. They might want to spend multiple picks on the position.
-
ROUND TWO
33 CAROLINA - WR Keon Coleman (Florida State)
34 NEW ENGLAND - WR Adonai Mitchell (Texas)
35 ARIZONA - LB Edgerrin Cooper (Texas A&M)

State Of The Sixers As The 2023/24 Season Begins
The Philadelphia 76ers will officially begin thier season on October 27th against the Milwaukee Bucks, so it is only appropriate that we take a dive in to some of the most pressing issues inlvolving the team in 2023/24.
youtube
1. Joel Embiid Is Daring The Sixers To Make A Wrong Move
Back in July of this year, Embiid did an interview with Maverick Carter, in which he appeared to openly contemplate a future away from Philly.
This is probably the only time Embiid has declared this on any public platform, and it comes at a time when there is turmoil, and I can't fault him for doing this given how well it worked for Giannis in the off season.
The response by the Sixers front office though, does not appear to be forthcoming, the only notable additions we've made are Patrick Beverley and Kelly Oubre Jr.
Surely among the things that is not making it easier for him to stay, is the now contentious relationship between the GM and the supposed 2nd star of the Sixers.
youtube
2. James Harden and Darryl Morey Have Been A Public Embarassment
While I have had more than a few laughs at the apparent disintergration of Morey and Harden's once solid working relationship, I think what has been missed is how much of a disatraction this story has been for the Sixers front office.
The Sixers don't look to have truly gone all in on signing anyone, most notably Damian Lillard. The Sixers see, yo ne hedging all thier bets on bringing James Harden back and the result has been inaction in the off season trade market, and Joel sees all of that.
I don't believe Harden is worth a max, and to be fair, the smart move would have been to trade Harden, but the issue is that Harden isn't as valuable of an asset, and the NBA is apparently looking to send a message to Harden who is looking to move in the middle of yet another contract.
To be fair Morey did the right thing by not giving Harden a new deal, but it also means he has to grit his teeth while Harden is on a mission to bismerch his name, and Morey has done so, but he hasn't found a trade partner either.
The relationship between the two maybe be damaged for good but the circumstances do not provide either party with an easy out, given Harden's reputation for not seeing through contracts.
Expect to hear the Sixers being mentioned a lot in trade speculation.
youtube
3. Nick Nurse Isn't Keen On James Harden
In 2019 when Nick Nurse coached the Raptors to an NBA championship in 2019, he was lauded for
In 2023/24, we're going to find out how much of the Raptors title run was really down to Nurse's coaching, because this is as tough of a situation as a coach could possibly be in.
To be fair, Nurse did not help himself by appearing less than enthusiastic about the idea of coaching James Harden.
Besides the fact that the James Harden situation has not been cleared up, and you know that the team Nurse has now, will most certainly not be the team he has later in the season and in the playoffs.
We're about to find out how much championship pedigree Nurse can inject into a team that needs to break through in the post season.
Tumblr media
4. Some Issues I Have With Embiid
I have to be honest, I haven't been too happy with Joel Embiid as of late.
I recognize that making the team aware that he intends to move if they do not surround him with a winning the, because that worked for Giannis in Milwaukee, but I am especially not happy with his decision to join Team USA for the 2024 Olympics.
If you look across the league at Jokic, Giannis and Luka, you have the NBA's best players all proudly representing for thier country in international play and Embiid is missing the trick by opting to join Team USA, as is being reported.
Earlier this year, the speculation was that Embiid would join Team France, and while that makes sense, in as far as language is concerned, I think that both Joel Embiid and Pascal Saiakam are making a mistake by not representing for Cameroon at a time when the country has 2 all star level NBA players to build around.
Most NBA fans won't care, but the game is bigger than just the American market and international guys have the responsibility of growing the game by taking part and representing in these international tournaments.
I understand that being around LeBron, KD and Steph is a good look for a guy that will likely enter free agency in the next two years or so, but Embiid is already very plugged in to those circles, and it's a missed opportunity for Cameroonian international basketball.

Oh I'm expanding as much as I want on the why's.
Out of the belcher kids, all of them.
I'd go as far as to say Tina is a DM. She will not back down when it comes to world building. She would 100% love adding a little romance to everything, making compatible NPC for all the players at the table. She's in her element when playing all the many different characters in her one, very monotone, voice.
Louise is in it for the combat and magic shit. she probably loves to rough up NPCs and solve fun mysteries, too. She will NEVER fold for one of Tina's love interest NPCs mostly out of spite. And she always plays a rogue, possibly goblin (classic) or tiefling (iconic)
Gene is always flirting with Tina's made NPCs and the ones Louise rejects as well. He'll get super into character and force everyone to dress up. Maybe he gets a little too excited about some mini figures, maybe he also thinks theyre ugly, maybe he diys some minis, maybe they're not that good, maybe it doesn't matter cus they capture the essence better.
The non belchers:
Millie plays it. She heard Louise was into it, that's why she started. She got a little too into it. I mean beyond dressing up and making minis, no. She now refers to people doing lame stuff as crit failing and will immediately turn to someone around her going "Get it? like in D&D? Do you know about that?"
She's the type that parents in the 80s were scared off.
Jessica plays a human druid always. She originally thought of just wizard elf but the second she heard of druids TURNING INTO ANIMALS?? she almost when feral. Does she over use it? Yes 100% Does she regret it when she runs into situations where she would 100% need it but already did it twice and she just came out of a short rest? Kinda, not enough to learn from her mistakes.
Rudy plays. In a very classic nerdy boy way. Human paladín typa guy. His PC is jacked, and i mean JACKED. All the charisma he doesn't have IRL, he has in game. Always specifies that his character has "no difficulty breathing."
One time in a Tina campaign, a creature killed him by suffocation. It asked, in a very condescending tone, if it was getting hard to breathe. The table agreed it was kinda meta. Tina had totally forgot he was asthmatic.
Hed probably would be a good DM.
Jimmy Jr. is a bard. He also falls under the common trope of making your character an orphan for dramatic effect. He gets a little too into looting people.
Zeke plays because J-Ju plays. Only plays human characters, idk why, but he just does. Heard about the "Rule of Cool" and will try to justify anything with it.
"No, you can't fly to the top of that try and use it as a catapult to get your character to the castle quicker. You can't even fly, and the impact would kill you"
very that.
Wayne plays. He's an asshole about it. Totally against the rule of cool cuz he wouldn't know cool if it hit him in the face with a brick and left him disfigured.
He loves homebrewing shit though. And it's always the most obnoxious weapon or armor or spell. It reeks of fedora, i don't like him.
Henry is pretty similar in the homebrewing aspect, but he loves the rule of cool! To an extent
Kaylee played a few times. She loved the combat mechanics, loved the world building, loved the feeling and sound of the dice. It felt like almost a perfect game. The role-playing was too much for her, she couldn't do it.
Alex also plays. He gets excited about minis, too, and will build them with gene. He's a GM, for sure. His world building isn't very sound, though, and there tend to be a lot of gaps and holes in the lore, but he patches them up quickly.
Courtney plays with Alex and Gene. It's almost the same way gene plays tbh. When she got into it, her dad got super excited and bought her a bunch of stuff, including like 50 campaign books that her and the guys have played through at least twice at this point.
of the grown ups
Bob 10000% played it as an older teen/ young adult.
He has very fond nostalgic memories of it, can't really keep up when the kids are playing. He says they make it too complicated. It's still fun though.
Linda played when the kids started playing it but a lot of her ideas and plans were shut down by both Tina DMing and the other players at the table (except gene). She says they're no fun.
Dr. Yap played, but he got kicked out of every group he played with. He was too much.
Felix would play if he had friends to play it with. He tried to get Calvin to do a campaign with him, but he only agreed once, and he wasn't doing things the way felix wanted him to. It was chaos. They shot at each other, no biggie.
The one person I think is super 1000000% into D&D and DEVOURS every time they play....
Is Ron.
Ron, the health inspector? Yes! Ron, the volunteer at the Esther Margaret Marionette-Odeum.
He has that look, that aura.
Hey people for not particular reason, I had a little question for you.
In Bob's Burgers, specifically the kids
Who do you think would play D&D?
Also doesn't have to be D&D per se but that kind of game boards
Feel free to expand as much as you want on the why's

Capril (aka lesbians lol)
Listen up peeps, I see so much Sunita x April content. But where is my Cassandra x April content??? Like it’s so cute, and don’t get me wrong, so is Sunita x April (sapphics have to stick together), but I just need more them. So here’s some headcanons
They both were crushing hard on each other before they got together, but Cass never experienced romantic attraction like this before. So she’s so confused, and she’s angry that she’s confused. So she ends up acting really weird around April.
They are both so chaotic in the best ways. They’ll be fighting an enemy and Cass will pull this cool move and April would just scream “THAT’S MY GIRLFRIEND!!!”
April is more comfortable with PDA. They’ll be watching a movie with the turtles and she’ll just curl up into Cass’s arms. Cass would be really tense and nervous in the beginning. As she gets more comfortable, she becomes a cuddle fiend. (This goes for the turtles too btw. She’s always hanging off of Raph)
Again, in the beginning of the relationship, Cass is very nervous that she’ll mess up and then April will hate her. So she relies on the turtles too heavily. April will text her like “good morning 😊😊” and then Cass will send a screenshot to Donnie freaking out about what she would say.
For example
Cass: *sends screen shot* what do i say?
Donnie: idk, just say good morning back
Cass: okay but should I say like gm or would she think that I don’t care enough to write out the whole thing
Donnie: does it matter?
Cass: and what’s her stance on emojis. Should I use the same ones as her or would she think I’m just copying her
Donnie: I don’t think she’ll care
It was a daily occurrence until Cass texted April back instead of Donnie. The message read “DONNIE HELP ME I KNOW THAT I TOLD YOU I WOULDNT BOTHER YOU ABOUT THIS ANYMORE BUT PLEASE I DON’T WANT HER TO HATE MEEEEEE!!!” April is like “hold up”
The turtles, splinter, and Sunita (and later Casey Jr) had their own group chat before they got together called “dumb lesbians group therapy” where they would talk about stupid stuff April and Cass would do. Like April tripping and falling on her face while walking past Cass training.
Splinter doesn’t contribute much, he just wants to spill the hot tea
And then he gossips with Baron.
When they get together where they post Cass and April being cute. Sunita takes the most pictures because she’s with them at school all day. Donnie and Leo always act disgusted. “Gross cooties” “right in front of my salad?”. Mikey and Raph are really supportive of them and don’t have the heart to make fun of them like Donnie and Leo do.
When Cass has a bad day, she doesn’t even have to say anything to April. Cass just walks up to April and puts her head on the her shoulder. April asks “rough day?” Cassandra groans into her shoulder. “Do you want to cuddle?” “…..yes >:(“
When April is having a bad day, she much rather do something, like go out for pizza or just play some video games. Just quality time with her girlfriend. Cass feels like this isn’t enough and seeks vengeance on those who wronged April.
As they get older and marriage comes up, they almost brake up fighting over who gets Sunita as a bridesmaid.
It’s just one of those stupid fights where you don’t even know why you’re fighting. It’s stops when Donnie asks “when did you guys even get engaged?”
They were never engaged. They weren’t planning a wedding. They were both stressed about one thing or another and they blew up at each other. They communicated with each other and came back stronger.
Casey Jr is really confused when he finds out his mom has a crush on commander O’Neil. They never got together in his reality, there was no time for romance.
But looking back, they were extremely close. He could definitely see a reality where April is his step mom.
The turtles teases all three of them by singing “Stacy’s Mom” at the top of their lungs, replacing Stacy with Casey.
There they be. My babies. I will be back. I will feed Rise Capril nation.

Miller to The L.A. Rams?!
Blue and orange to blue and gold!? Let’s talk about Von Millers ‘blockbuster’ trade at the deadline moving from Denver to Los Angeles. After spending a decade in the league and only dawning the blue and orange of the Broncos Von Miller shockingly was traded to the Rams. In an interview he seemed as though his passion and love for the city far outweighed the trade decision and fans are split on both sides of the aisle. Some are calling it the worst trade and that management is content with throwing the rest of the season to rebuild, while others agree that with Von’s numbers and the salary he will now make that it was a more than fair parting gift for what he had given the organization. GM George Paton admitted that “while it’s certainly not easy to part ways with a player like Von, this is an opportunity for both our team and for Von as he begins the next chapter of his career.” Miller was struck to tears as exiting the building and seeing the Super Bowl 50 pictures and saying “we always got Super Bowl 50. I always got Broncos country.” The management has no immediate plans to replace Von which is why the fan base is so split. The Broncos just gave away their franchise defensive MVP and aren’t looking to fill his shoes with another MVP? This isn’t saying that the rest of the Denver defense is not up to par, but it definitely feels like a lot to ask to fill number 58’s shoes.
Looking at this trade from the bigger picture outside the scope of player motivation it looks like LA is finalizing their stack to make a playoff run. The Broncos were likely facing a tough decision soon anyway with Miller and his contract, but it did not have to be right now. LA only gave up a second and third round pick, so as much as some would call this a win for Denver, how is this not highway robbery for LA? Miller has the most sacks since he entered the league over that span. He recorded 4.5 sacks and was among the top 10 defenders in QB pressure this year. He did suffer an injury that put him out for two games, but his comeback won’t be anything short of spectacular. Although he has tailed off some of his great standout appearances including his super bowl victory over the Carolina Panthers his numbers don’t lie. Sure he’s getting a pay raise and the Broncos kind of feel like the Rockets when they traded Harden, but Von is now lining up opposite Leonard Floyd in LA’s 3-4 front and this defense looks scary. If you are the Seahawks, 49ers and the Cardinals I’m having some serious talks with my offensive line, because this home stretch to playoffs is going to get messy.
Miller joins an absolutely stacked Rams team. Their most recent signing since trading for Von Miller was the addition of former stud wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Nonetheless Miller might have more of an impact on this Rams team than Odell will. Miller has had 110.5 sacks since he joined the NFL his newest teammate is none other than, the man, the myth, the legend, Aaron Donald. Donald has had 90.5 sacks since he entered the NFL. Coming from the interior of the line this is a seriously impressive stat line that will only continue to grow with an experienced veteran like Miller joining his side. With all that the Rams are doing, their  “all in” mentality might pay off with a Super Bowl appearance and victory. It’s all up to Head Coach Sean Mcvay and newly acquired Defensive Coordinator Raheem Morris, to make sure Miller fits into their system properly. Miller's debut against the San Francisco 49ers was absolutely a disappointment. A viral clip of Miller getting pancaked by 49ers Tight End George Kittle, exposed Miller and his age. Miller simply just needs time to adjust to the new playbook and strategy of the Rams elite defense. Not to mention the ankle injury he has just come off of, and is still to some extent trying to heal.
Regardless of what you hear, what you say you know J&J always come to play. The Rams got a steal and one hell of a deal. The Broncos, well we have yet to see, but it seems like their season is over to Jay and me.

I'm still very upset about that series with the Habs. But if it forces the Pens to make drastic changes to their management & coaching staff, so be it. They could've easily won it but fucking Sully really had to put fucking JJ when they could've played Riikola. Patty's a great dude but why did GMJR trade for him in the first place? I do agree with you especially with the team morale changing since Flower went to Vegas -- there's been a lot of internal issues we just don't know of. (more)
NGL but I'm still pissed at how they bungled the Hags trade. Olli for Kahun. Trading Sheary for the first time to make room for JJ. Add in GMJR's tendency to embarrass his players publicly and running them out of town (see: Phil). The vicious combination of stubbornness and ego became their downfall. Sully and GMJR wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for Sid, Geno and Tanger dictacting the team culture. They should thank our core for building a team that supports one another. (more)
Have you noticed that Phil and some other players GMJR traded away said nice things about the organization, the core and the other players but not JR? Because JR is a thorn in the side yet media refuses to believe it. There's a reason why coaches and GMs have short shelf lives.
Sometimes I think they keep bringing in deadweight like JJ and Marleau bc they are hoping to find a bright spot in the room the way Flower was. The problem is, what they had can’t be replaced for many reasons, not the least of which is that Flower could, you know, play. The team could rely on him night after night. Yeah his personality was amazing but the core and the outskirts of the core had a phenomenal relationship with him.
Instead of trying to replace that with random guys who are categorically great dudes who do nothing for us on the ice, we just need great players that our guys have chemistry with.
I think we have a lot of good pieces right now.
I also think GMJR and, in particular, Sullivan is running this team into the ground with astoundingly poor decision making and favoritism. Recchi is an absolute fucking disaster.
My opinion: Fire GMJR, Sullivan and Recchi immediately. Now that it’s off season, let Matt sign with a team who will be a good fit for him. Get rid of Bjugstad, Simon, Marleau, JJ and Schultz. Those things alone would both clear up some cap space and get rid of toxic pieces to the org. The beauty of it is we still have three capable d-men waiting in the wings to replace Schultz and JJ if they go. We already have a stellar goalie who can start for us at a much lower cap hit and two other guys who can serve as backups.
Next season we NEED to see the the top lines to be 16/87/(maybe 43 or 72?) and 59/71/17. But Zucker needs to be on Sid’s line. Sully dismantling that line was by far one of the shittiest decisions he has ever made.
As for GMJR? He and Sully’s bullshit smear campaign of Geno (because that’s exactly what it is) needs to stop NOW. They need to go. To see SUCH a great player be treated like such absolute shit is unreal.
Anyhow, you probably didn’t ask for all that and I’m sorry about that! Just letting my opinions fly today I guess!

What’s your honest take on the Toronto Pittsburgh trade?
So honest answer time!
JR is out of his god blessed mind. I honestly think he needs to go. I’ve said this for awhile now. It seems to be his MO to trade away our draft picks. Kapanen is a good player but not worth a 1st round draft pick. I’m not sure what he is thinking, but JR’s move lately have not helped the team, they’ve actually hurt us instead. I just hope he doesn’t tear us down anymore. Already hearing rumors that he told Schultz that he won’t be a Penguins next season.
But what’s everyone else’s take on it?
