[Simpsons OC Ask Game]
21 – Does your OC practice a religion?
Ehhh. Yes and no. Ann-Doreen considers herself christian, but it's really more an automatism borne out of cultural expectations than anything - she doesn't really practice, doesn't really go to mass, doesn't even really believe all that much if she were to look inward - but she never asked herself those kinds of things, it's never come to her mind to have any alternative, so she doesn't question her own status quo. She was raised christian so christian she must be surely. That's how it works right?
The one christian thing she tries not to miss out on too often is the christmas mass, cuz she's on break so she actually has the time to go, and if there's one time to go to church it's this, yeah? It's only proper.
22 – What’s your OC’s stance on politics? Do they actively participate in events and advocate for change, or are they more likely to shrug it off and see what happens?
Just like in almost all other aspects of her life, Ann-Doreen is too disconnected and jaded about everything to have any sort of specific convictions.
She's kind of lukewarm and unaffiliated, thinking some lefty ideas make sense and some right wing ideas are good, wishy washy. She's very idly patriotic if you ask, because that's what was taught to her since primary school, but not all that much either. She's the kind of person to not particularly care about big overarching political discussions that don't impact her directly, cuz she has no time for that shit she's got to get to work.
In a way, she's the epitome of the average horribly overworked american, who's privileged enough not to have to ask herself questions, but who's too deeply focused on making it to the next day to have mental energy for important societal and political matters.

genre: smut, modern au, minors dni
word count: 2k
summary: you're new to town and tess invites you to go camping with her and joel.
warnings: fmf, threesome, flf dynamics, reader being eaten out for the first time, dirty talk, oral s.ex, cum eating/play, for the sake of this fic let's just imagine they have a very big tent they can actually stand in lmaodfb, things escalate quickly but honestly I just wanted to write some good old smut
a/n: this wasn't originally intended for the amazing @undercoverpena's april showers challenge BUT since I had already written the rain aspect of the fic I thought it would be nice to post this for it 💜
prompt: both/all parties get caught in the rain.
**dividers by @saradika-graphics 💜
Breathing is hard. Walking is hard. Carrying the weight of your backpack is hard.
But, the fresh air, the white clouds above, and the two people you’re with make up for it.
Stopping briefly, you roll your shoulders and stretch, neither of them notice you. Not really. You figure it’s not really important if they do or don’t, it’s not like they’re that much ahead of you, catching up wouldn’t be difficult. You watch them, you must admit, a bit dreamily as they walk the bath they’re clearly so used to walking. You’re still surprised that the seasoned hikers invited you to a camping trip. Tess was the one to approach, she knew you were new and how overwhelming it’s been getting used to the people and the sights. She told you she and Joel would be going on a trip soon and that you should join. And even though your answer had been an eager yes, you were worried about holding them back. Admittedly, you weren’t the most fit and haven’t hiked anywhere in years.
However, your excitement to spend time with not one but both of them had tipped the scale rather harshly. You’ve been harboring a secret crush on both of them, it was hard not to when both of them were charming and witty.
Now, as you walk behind them, you can't help but steal glances at the way Tess effortlessly navigates the trail, her hair swaying with each step. Joel walks beside her, occasionally pointing out interesting plants or landmarks, his backpack seeming almost weightless on his shoulders.
You catch yourself smiling as you imagine what adventures lie ahead on this trip.
You decide to pick up your pace, closing the gap between you and them. As you draw nearer, Tess glances back, her eyes brightening with a genuine smile as she sees you catching up.
"How's the hike treating you?"
You catch your breath and reply, "It's challenging, but I'm enjoying every moment of it."
Joel turns around with a friendly grin. "Glad to hear that. We've got a great spot picked out for camping tonight."
As the three of you continue forward, you feel a surge of excitement. Your legs might be aching, but you can't wait to see where the day takes you all.
Rain.
At first, you thought you were unlucky. You had dreamed of campfire, smores and snuggling underneath the starlight, but with the first lightning strike and drop of water, you thought the two would be agitated, annoyed by the bad weather.
But to your surprise, as the rain began to fall in earnest after setting the tent, Tess and Joel didn't seem bothered at all. In fact, they laughed and exchanged playful looks as they turned their heads up to the sky. Their infectious joy caught you off guard, and despite the downpour, you found yourself smiling too.
Then, unexpectedly, Joel's arm slides around your shoulders, pulling you closer to him. A rush of warmth floods through you as his lips brush against your neck, sending shivers down your spine. Simultaneously, Tess leans in, her lips meeting yours in a tender kiss. The moment is electrifying, filled with a blend of desire and affection.
Before you know it, Tess and Joel are gently guiding you towards the tent they had set up earlier. The rain continues to pour around you, but inside the cozy confines of the tent, a different kind of heat ignites.
“Fuckin’ gorgeous,” Joel cups both your breasts tenderly from underneath, the wet fabric dampening his skin. You feel Tess’s eyes on your back, observing, taking in the details of the scene before her. Meanwhile, Joel’s gaze is glued to your pebbled nipples, he slowly drags his thumbs over them, your breath catching in your throat. “Does that feel good?”
“It does,” your eyelids flutter, he repeats the movement, drawing circles this time. His eyes flicker up to meet yours.
“So fucked out already,” he hums. “Our pretty little girl, so shy and hungry.”
Tess stands from where she is sitting and circles her arms around your waist, fingers digging into your stomach, she pulls you flush against her. Your stomach bottoms out as you feel the plump flesh of her breasts against your back. Your lips part, you want to kiss her.
You want to kiss her.
You turn your head, chasing her lips with yours, before your eyes close, you see the mischievous curl of her lips. She pulls away and smiles even wider when you whine. “You’re so easy to tease.”
Opening your eyes, you swallow, your body arches when Joel sneaks both hands under your shirt, lifting the fabric, goosebumps raise all over your skin. “Is that a bad thing?” you ask her, voice slightly shaking.
“Not at all princess,” she drags her lips down your neck. “It just makes it even more amusing.”
Your reply gets stuck in your throat as Joel dips down and sucks one of your pebbled nipples into his mouth. He tightly closes his lips around the nub and flicks it with his tongue. Your body jolts, pleasure running through you like the lighting outside. Your head falls over Tess’s shoulder, she lays open-mouthed kisses over your neck, her hands unbuttoning your pants.
“You want him to eat you out?” she breathes into your skin and without looking at either of them you nod. “Have you ever had your pussy eaten out, princess?”
You lick your lips, “No,” you say half ashamed, and swallow. “This’ll be my first time.”
Joel’s tongue stills on your skin and suddenly two hungry eyes come into your view. If you didn’t know better you’d say he looks pissed off. Never breaking eye contact, he continues what Tess started and pushes down your pants along with your underwear, leaving you bare to the chill of the tent. He pushes two fingers between your folds and starts stroking you, you shudder against both of them, and your breath hitches.
“Tell me how bad you want it,” he says. “Beg me for it.”
“Please.”
He chuckles darkly, “Oh sweetheart, I ain’t gettin’ on my knees for that. Do better.”
You let out a small gasp as he grips your chin, squeezing lightly. To provide comfort, Tess kisses the back of your neck, however, you can feel her smiling into your skin.
“Please,” you say again. “I want you to make me come, Joel. I want to feel your tongue—I want you to be my first—”
Your lips part for another incoming beg but he’s already sinking to his knees, large hands sliding up and down the back of your thighs. A shudder rolls up your spine. Tess’s hands replace Joel’s, kneading your breasts softly.
His hands finally come between your thighs, gently nudging them so you open wider. You see a flicker of a smile when you do, amused, he drags two fingers between your folds. “You’re soaked, sweetheart.”
“She’s not the only one,” Tess chuckles. “Now get on with it, Miller. I’m impatient.”
He clicks his tongue without retaliating further. You feel the warmth of his breath on your core, and slowly, he presses his lips over your mound, the scratch of his beard making it an exquisite experience. You moan at the touch of his tongue, it moves slowly, circling your clit and going deeper. His nails bite into your skin, the sounds he makes between your legs are downright sinful. Your legs begin to shake.
“Shh it’s okay,” Tess whispers against your cheek. “Just give him a taste and we’ll lay you down, princess. I know you can do it.”
Joel grunts in approval, the timber of the sound making you whimper. His hands slide up to your ass and he squeezes the mounds roughly, pushing you further against his mouth. He licks and sucks, when you feel the bite of his nails against your skin, you finally come undone.
Your knees threaten to give out under you, the only thing holding you upright being the two stunning people consuming you. Tess smiles against your skin, kissing and licking the salt of your skin. Meanwhile, Joel moans rather loudly, licking everything you have to offer as you come, come and come some more. You’ve never felt anything this intense before. The air is knocked from your lungs, your body ice cold yet burning up at the same time.
You’re vaguely aware of Joel standing, the man who was worshipping you between your legs suddenly towering over you. He has a small smile as he leans in, you think he’s going to kiss the slope of your shoulder first but then you hear the soft sounds of two lips coming together. With the corner of your eyes, you see them. Tess and Joel kissing, their tongues sliding into each other's mouth, sharing your taste—
“Fuck,” you whisper, your cunt throbbing. They both smile, lips curving in an almost malicious way. As they break apart, Tess licks Joel’s lips, her eyes find yours.
“Someone’s still hungry for more,” she teases, slowly stripping. “Get on all fours for us, princess.”
You swallow and do as she says. You feel Joel’s large hands cup the mounds of your ass, squeezing tenderly. “Beautiful,” he rasps. “Such a goddamn sight.”
Your back arches into his touch. He drags two thick fingers between your folds as Tess lays down, spreading her legs. Your eyes immediately drop to her center, the soft hair that crowns her pretty pussy. You see her glisten with want and your mouth waters.
“Don’t be shy now,” she smiles. “Have a taste.”
Her fingers curl around the back of your neck and at the same time, you feel the head of Joel’s cock stretching you wide. Your eyes roll as you part your lips, Tess moans loudly when your tongue swirls around her puffy clit. You can’t think straight. Joel buries himself deep holding himself there for a second before pulling back and slamming forward. Your moan into Tess’s cunt, your lips parting away briefly every he pulls himself back.
“Best cunt I’ve ever had,” he grunts through clenched teeth. “How does it feel sweetheart? You enjoyin’ yourself?”
You flatten your tongue against Tess’s folds and moan, your body clenching.
“She is,” Tess answers on your behalf, breathless. “Such a sweet girl letting us use her like this.”
Your eyes close tightly shut, sweat drips down your spine, your body a vessel of pleasure. Every muscle in your body tightens, and you hear both of them groan. You close your lips around Tess’s clit and flick your tongue, her head falls, gushing into your mouth. Joel’s watches intently, his cock pulsing and throbbing, his hand comes against the back of your head and he pushes you further down.
“Good girl,” he growls, the pace of his thrusts becoming sloppy. “Fuck, that’s it, lick her clean.”
Tess moans again, the loud sounds becoming whimpers. You can barely breathe but you don’t care. With one final thrusts you come undone around Joel’s cock, your body squeezing him like a vice.
When the violent shudders of your body become gentle waves, Joel pulls out. Your head falls limply against Tess’s stomach, her hand gently rubbing your neck. A soft gasp leaves you when you see Joel shuffling closer, his cock still hard and glistening. You watch as he strokes himself only mere inches away from your face, the head of his cock an angry shade of red.
You stick out your tongue as he spills himself over your face and Tess’s stomach. Another pulse of pleasure spreads throughout your body. Tess let’s out a deep sigh, gathering some of the come with her fingers, she pushes them between your lips.
“Fuck,” Joel sighs, sitting back on his heels. A small smile forms against your lips as you suck on Tess’s fingers, when she pulls them out, you dip your tongue into the mess over her stomach and swallow every drop.
“Filthy girl,” Tess muses. “And here I’ve been callin’ you princess.”
“Your fault,” you mumble, looking away, your cheeks burn.
Joel leans in, capturing your lips before whispering.
“Don’t pout. You’ll always be our princess.”

Some ramblings about chapter 113 of Spy x Family
I know I'm one week too late and all of this stuff has probably already been said by other people, but I have been too busy and tired to write down my thoughts earlier and I still wanted to do it, so here they are anyway :D
Spoilers under the cut

This will never not be funny part 1

This will never not be funny part 2
All jokes aside, I love how Endo uses manga as a medium for visual gags. Having Damian fight the sfx of his feelings and changing style for dramatic shoujo scenes, it seems like he's having a lot of fun coming up with these. Also Damian seems to be an expert when it comes to breaking the fourth wall ahah. Franky may be the one interacting with the readers outside of the story, but within the story itself, Damian's tsundere tendencies are too strong even for the fabric of their reality ahahah.
Also Becky being an absolute menace as usual, we love her for that. She's having way too much fun messing with Damian, who needs Berlint in Love when you can watch those two interact every day?

First of all "If you got problems, talk to us!" They are such good friends to him, I'm so glad! I'm so glad for every person Damian has on his side! He needs all the support system he can get. They are so precious!!!
Second, no it's not about language studies, if fact, that is a rare occasion for him to interact with Anya ahah.
Third, him clenching his heart in agony and literally fighting demons in his sleep, it's so cute, his crush is the cutest thing in the world I can't-
And lastly HE REALLY WENT FOR THE "IT'S NOT FOR ME, IT'S FOR A FRIEND OF MINE" EXCUSE. It's too funny T.T

AND OF COURSE THEY BELIEVED HIM T.T
These two I swear!
They know they are Damian's only friends, but no, he can't be lying! So instead of questioning him they assume there must be someone else! Comedy gold T.T
And it works because they are kids! I love how every miscommunication trope becomes more realistic and less annoying because they are kids and so it makes sense.

This whole chapter was a big win for Mr. Green, absolute MVP. Great advice for the characters and the readers. This chapter really resembled one of those kids cartoons ment to teach how to deal with different aspects of life, it was very nice.
I hope we get to see him more often, every time we see his mentoring skills they're an absolute treat!

Oh my heart!!! "You guys are my only true friends" T.T and their happy faces all sparky T.T
These three and their friendship are so precious to me!!! I really want to see a little chapter about how they met and how Ewen and Emile have come to respect Damian so much.
I really like how Damian tells them they're his friends here. Their dynamic was a bit stereotypical of the bully with his goons at the beginning, but I'm soooo happy that after that Endo has been constantly showing that no, actually, they really are friends. Tbh sometimes this friendship was a bit missing from Damian's side (Ewen and Emile jumping in the river for Damian and Emile not running away from the terrorist because Damian had "a bomb" on his neck, whereas Damian wanted to ask Ewen for his handkerchief to avoid getting a tonitrus < although this was also because of the panic about his father, but still) so for a long time I wanted to see him showing his affection for them somehow and in this chapter we finally got just that! For someone that has such a hard time dealing with his feelings, telling them "You guys are my only true friends" I'm sure means a lot. And you can see he's a bit embarrassed saying it, but he does it anyway because they're important to him!

First of all, very cool design for the Paradise Fist and Damian's dream sequences in general, but also veeery interesting lore drop about Donovan (dropping important lore like that in the middle of a silly chapter, classic Endo).
So Donovan was most likely in power when the war ended and that's probably where the idea that he stopped the war came from, at least from Damian's perspective. We know that Donovan is (likely) trying to start a new war, so it's very interesting that Damian considers him a man of peace. Is this his personal belief because he puts him on a pedestal or is it somewhat of a common idea amongst citizens? Did Donovan contribute to the birth of this image of himself or was it just a natural consequence? Does he want to be seen as a man of peace? Why did he even stop the war? A lot of interesting questions.
Regardless, I think this is also very important for Damian' character, that he admires his father because he thinks he stopped a war. First of all now it makes even more sense why he looks up to him so much. I mean it already made sense, but if we add the fact that, in Damian's pov, his father is responsible for the current peace, it's obvious that he'll keep admiring him, regardless of how cold he may be. Second it is very important to establish Damian's morals. Ever since he talked about his father during the war, in the bus hijacking arc, I wanted to know what he actually knew about his father's role in the previous conflict, if he aligned with his views and if he was indoctrinated somehow. But if he's convinced that his father stopped a war and he admires him for that, then it shows Damian is actually a pacifist, which will also make it all the more tragic when he'll eventually discover what Donovan is currently plotting.
Also it's interesting how Damian even ended up with these morals. Is Jeeves teaching him that? Does he do it following Donovan's orders or does he go against him? Or maybe it's just Damian's own personal values, it's not that weird that he naturally came to appreciate peace, I guess I just find it kinda weird that he wasn't taught the opposite. It's s very interesting.
Anyway, moving on

Yeah I think you really broke him Becky, he was fighting a Buzz demon in his sleep! The poor boy can't take any more! (The fiscal manifestation of the Paradise Fist is adorable!!!)

I love love loooove this part. The truth is that both Anya and Damian are geeky kids that have a lot of interests in common and they would have so much fun playing pretend together, if one of them wasn't so mean 👀
Anya likes the real Damian, the kid that likes action stories and has a big imagination. I really like that, because it shows she is not after him just because of Strix, it's obviously just his attitude that is throwing her off and that she actually appreciates his true self. I hope he'll start to realise that and embrace it. Like look at him! All the happy sparkles, he's so glad to have her attention. And the buzz going away. C'mon Damian don't you want to feel like this more often? Just a happy silly kid!
Also side note, he made the same face he made when he said Ewen and Emile were his only true friends! Adorable!
It seems like Damian has acknowledged and accepted his feelings of jealousy and that means that he has or he will acknowledge and accept the reason why they're there, the progression may be slow but it's definitely there and I really like how it's done.

Perfect way to end this chapter ahah, not only because it's funny, but also because it showcases yet another type of jealousy/envy. Showing that jealousy can come from different sources like friendships, crushes and parenting/mentoring and that both kids and adults are subject to it, once again helps with the message of the chapter about embracing these feelings and making peace with them.
All in all I loved this chapter. We finally explored Damian's feeling of jealousy, learned some interesting stuff and it had a very good moral message. Although I'm very biased because Eden chapters are always my favourites eheh. If Eden chapters have a million fans, then I am one of them. If Eden chapters have ten fans, then I am one of them. If Eden chapters have only one fan, that's me. If Eden chapters have no fans, then I'm dead.
(Btw I'm going to add 3 more pictures in a reblog of this post, because I reached the image limit. I don't have too much too say about them, but I really liked them and I wanted to highlight them. So you can't check them out in the notes of this post if you want.)

☆Headcanon: brother-sister coding, hear me out
I need to get this post done before whatever that will happen in chapter 192. So even if I only got two more days for this theory to be around, I'll be glad that I finally let this out from my chest after a while. So, don't take whatever I will ramble about as something super serious.
First of all, maybe you guys will look at me and says, "what the fuck Alie they're like two different unrelated characters" and while that's true for now and so far, I just... can't really took my eyes off from this "siblings coding" the more I read Chainsaw Man. And I have some reasons and theories why (disclaimer: I did a crazy reach all over the direction) and I found it very interesting.
Reason no. 1: Their First Meeting & Re-occurence
Hirofumi is the first part 1 character that Asa meets (even before Denji). So, I think it's reasonable for me—the reader to be intrigued on what is Fujimoto's plan for their seemingly "not important" (but why be the first?) relationship.
My initial thought is that: oh, they might become friendlier in the future or even become lifelong enemies. Then I remember Hayakawa Family—Aki and Power as the first ever Denji's buddy, specific on Power.
Because even though narratively and character writing-wise Power and Hirofumi are fundamentally different, both of them are written initially to form false narratives that they'll become a token love interest for our protagonist(s) aren't they? They also share a somewhat similar strawberry cake motive, makes me wonder why.
Alsoooo, I think the way Hirofumi & Asa's Devil Hunter Club "date" being portrayed as very differently from Hirofumi + Denji and Hirofumi + Fami "cafe date" (a.k.a. work-related mandated date) is important, somehow.
Reason no. 2: Personal Motives and Untold Family Narratives of Asa Mitaka
We know since the very first time we met her that Asa is very lonely and her motives circling around getting a companion (either a boyfriend or a friend) and living selfishly (which as we can see right now is backfired rapidly, but I'll talk about this separately later, maybe in the future).
However, there's one aspect of her motives that's kinda underlooked, and it's her relationship with family member. Yes, we got a glimpse of Asa and her mom (never with her father so far) and Asa with her lovely pet—Crambon, however they already died years ago, and Asa blame herself for it.
It's unfair that in this world, she still had her family, as they said. So maybe she already gives up on that idea. Which is where the true weights of this headcanon come from. What if, she still could have it? Even though she never asked for this directly. Her getting a family again that she was maliciously accused of unfairly having, could be very nice, actually. Even if it's a very insufferable or a miserable mess workaholic kind of brother (or twin brother).
Reason no. 3: Hirofumi's Motives
This deserves its very own post just like my plan to talks more about Asa's living selfishly motive but to make it simple, Hirofumi lied at the very start because he already formed a parasocial relationship with both Asa and Denji by giving them options to have a somewhat nicer normal life (Denji not becoming Chainsaw Man, and Asa making a distance from Denji to prevent her from turning him into her weapon and thus also prevented her to feel down because of the guilt) even though he knows that another choice never really exist to begin with.
(Asa doesn't necessarily have to be his sister to add more depths to this motive. I just think won't it be very funny if Hirofumi was like collecting information all around, confirming that Asa Mitaka is indeed the incarnation of War Devil in weird case then he took a look at her Koseki then boom they have the same dad!? What the fuck was that. Here comes new responsibility that his father left behind, I guess)
As what we know so far, Hirofumi took his job and his responsibility very seriously and very neat about which one he could improve or "change" for everyone's sake involved. IF Hirofumi and Asa are indeed siblings (or half siblings) however, this gives more explanation on his involvement and his own personal interest. Hirofumi is not easy to read, but he still overshares to Asa (chapter 121 when he agrees on Asa's takes about solitude) and "taking care" of her.
Reason no. 4: Just Take a More Look at Them
Taller than average? Check. More athletic than average? Check. Insane face card? Check. Unbelievable amount of yearning? Check. Arguably suicidal? Check.
Both of them being a human stuck in status quo between human vs devil war like hostages in their own prison—Hirofumi stuck as hollow used cop for Public Safety and Asa stuck as War Devil very own vessel—with absolutely nothing, no one really on their side (Fumiko and Fami as mean of even more control over both of them)? Check.
Even as concept alone, child soldier and war maiden incarnate siblingsm could be developed to be something, very interesting.
Okay, now into more theories territory.....
Theory no. 1: Asa and Hirofumi are the Result of Kishibe Fucking Around and Found Out Post Quanxi Rejection Era
Why Kishibe would do that? Idk but it's a funny math because if Kishibe is in his early 50 now then 17 years ago would be him in his 30s. If Kishibe become devil hunter in his early 20s and meet Quanxi shortly after that and become buddies for 9 years then, the year just lined up lmao. How much chances of them being an oopsies baby thus explaining their very different last names but strangely similar physiques and even narratives? Not zero.
There are two options regarding this though. It's either they're twin siblings or half siblings. Half siblings mean they have different mothers but same dad, and twin siblings mean they have same mother but got separated at some point during their lifetime (Hirofumi went with Kishibe and Asa went with her mama who probably re-marry or just simply raising Asa alone and lying about her dad getting eaten by devil or something because her love story with that drunkard crazy man is just that bad).
Kishibe avoiding child support for 17 years and this is the consequences, also both of them got their ass kicked out by the very same lesbian who rejects their father, I'll say it's a beautiful storytelling.
Theory no. 2: Sinister Look on Vol 17 Cover and "Hirofumi will appear in Asa's Dream"
We will get into a more sinister area here because I believe the Makima-esque vibes, "necessary evil" narratives Hirofumi brought up to the table are not coincidences or neglectable at all. Even more sinister because his cover is him standing in front of alleyway just like how Makima cover is her in front of the door in Denji's dream.
Which led me to think that this could indicate something. However, kinda different on how it was portrayed, I think this make things clear that Hirofumi is not endgame antagonist since his cover came a bit too early than what we—the reader anticipated (there is absolutely no fucking nobody in the fandom that expecting Hirofumi to get a cover during before the cover reveal). However, he might be the key into Asa's end dream reveal later on.
Maybe he will appear on her dream being vague as fuck, or maybe direct her dream into a more "false happiness" directions since all he did is lying (see reason no. 3) to distract her focus on dead chickens. Personally, I think the latter will be more interesting because it will be the opposite of what Makima did in Denji's dream, if this "Hirofumi will appear in Asa's dream sooner or later" theory is true. The government and the church need Asa in her stable conditions to unleash Yoru anyway.
"Then what does this imply into your siblings theory"—because siblings should take care of each other, ideally. And I think it will add more depth, if true of course.
Theory no. 3: Hirofumi Cares About Asa (maybe more than what we see on-screen)
To put on more disclaimer, this is just what I imagine to fill out the gap in between narratives and it connects to reasons number 3 (again). Despite how he positions himself and blending in the crowd like invincible, Hirofumi is actually easy to care and feel guilty too (and the reason why he could kill the Immortal Brother assassin in part 1 is because he has the ignorance privilege, but with both Denji and Asa? Not so much).
I have no strong basis for this theory I just have my own feelings and a dream, and this is basically what I think Hirofumi has done so far for Asa (subtle) in the story:
Hirofumi just let Yuko loose and kill Asa's bullies during Justice Devil Arc. This may sound dark, but it fit his character in a way that he's okay with doing violence as long as it could benefit his mission (and maybe this time his personal interest too). Because he knows Asa got bullied at school. If this could solve her bullying problems, then why not? That's why Hirofumi is just sitting around during the whole fight until Denji interfered.
Hirofumi is the one who brought Asa to hospital after Falling Devil Arc (which is somehow in line for how I think he's Denji blood-giver in the same arc). Because well, I don't think Public Safety cared enough to get her conditions checked, but Hirofumi is aware about her injury conditions (arguably this is so that she could be a bargaining chip for Denji but we know that the main chip is Nayuta, I think Hirofumi just want to let him know just because also let me have this imagination for the sake of this agenda).
The reason why Hirofumi didn't or more likely can't kill Asa during CSM Church Arc is not necessarily just because War Devil has become stronger. Paneling focus on their face's expressions indicate that Hirofumi just can't bring himself more to do so (after he saw Asa's hand and her in pain), thus making him fail this mission to capture War Devil dead or alive. It's the guilt kicking in.
I think Hirofumi is somewhat relieved after he saw Asa's hands are back (yay) in Aging Devil Arc. Also, that's what he put his focus on FIRST after he got vomited out before asking his own situation even.
Personal View and The Main Takeaway (really): I need this to be real just because I think it will be so fucking funny
To end this unbelievably long ass post, I think it's important to note again that they have like five screentime together and I'm just insane. But if I should be honest, this is not me being rational at all, I just think the whole situation would be funny up to seven more factors if my ramblings are true.
Because this headcanon imply that the fandom meltdown towards them (as individuals or as in characters dynamics) is unnecessary at all. Like aside from Hirofumi being read mainly as queer, maybe him acting kind of mean and nonchalantly distant (and somewhat awfully playful) towards Asa are just because he like being petty and doesn't want to look like he wants to bang his sister (as a sister myself, yes I do feel the need to annoy my other siblings whenever I can just because I could and it doesn't have to be hatred, sometimes it's the love aggression kicking in).
Lastly, thank you guys for coming to my yapping ted talks.
#chainsaw man#chainsaw man part 2#yoshida hirofumi#hirofumi yoshida#mitaka asa#asa mitaka#csm#chainsaw man theory#headcanon#fan theory#character analysis#unpopular opinion#I'm like half joking in most of these but#headcanons taken seriously#hirofumi and asa siblingsm really ended up living rent free in my brain#high af yapping#im going insane#nooticing#i think i'm just crazy at this point but it will make sense istg#likely won't be true but I'm glad it inhabit my brain for some times they are very dear to me#funtime idea for siblings: let your friend kill your sister's bullies at school and act idgaf because “you don't get paid enough” for it#funtime idea for siblings: try to kill each other off#another funtime idea for siblings: prank former japan minister so now he is stuck in ageless time prison#not funtime idea for siblings however: falling in love to the same blonde weapon human guy with chainsaw on his head#both looks like pathetic wet cats living in cardboard cutouts abandoned in my eyes#when I wrote this I thought to myself “how could I shove Kishibe into this situation” so I did#is this even a coping because I myself don't even 100% believe in it

Yeah!!! when i first saw the whole "Thorne in narutoland" i though he was such an amazing pic because of his side-role of simply reacting to the wacky shenanigans around him. Ok, mainly just the absurd stuff Remilia will say (& do) but shhh
like imagine if he just got a costumer service job just to make a little living and it turned out to be a popular stop for ninja, he gets to overhear all sorts of crazy stuff. & get insanely peeved over how the village is run. What even are the priorities??
I can also imagine Thorne getting insanely confused over how others with demonic features (bloodline limits) get treated better than Naruto. Is there a strange & mysterious hierarchy going on?
Also i can totally see a demons resistance towards the miasma play into nature chakra or maybe genjutsus!!
YOU !!!! YOU GET IT! !!!!
I love Thorne so much, I'm always such a fan of characters that amount to "literally just a guy" (bonus points if they're visibly stressed) when it comes to casts of very impressive / important people, and he totally falls into that. My baby girl. My wife. I love him.
Live Thorne reaction is my favorite thing ever, he is doing a wonderful job both running the village and also standing there and looking pretty then reacting with appropriate "h u h ?" reactions every time Remilia declares her newest absolutely batshit insane venture.
"Bye Thorne, Im going to go kill a god now <3"
"Ahaha. Of course you are. Doing that." <- (looks like he's about to have a heart attack)
I think it's also interesting how like. Aside from the understandable shocked reactions, Thorne really does just. Keep rolling as he takes the punches.
Remilia killed a god? Hey, what the fuck! Life moves on tho, he has a village to run.
The star maiden has secret plans to lock him in a dungeon and turn him into her personal potioneer? Cool! That's going to give him nightmares now! Time to just refuse to unpack that and be glad it didn't happen.
Remilia pulls him in to a meeting with The Demon King to create a steady trade deal between realms, with him as their spokesperson on the villages end? Well he's sweating fucking bullets and feeling very out of place, but this might as well happen.
Thorne is my favorite king of "this might as well be my life", I love him dearly
Anyways I came here to talk about Thorne in Naruto so uhhh
I would fucking LOVE to see him in naruto. Obviously yk, like I mentioned before in my other post ab this, Thorne is a demon! He is a demon from the Demon Realm! He is a demon from the demon realm who helped to build a village mostly from the ground up, yes with Remilia's backing but like-- she was busy fighting gods and preforming miracles across the country side while he did the heavy lifting of day to day village management.
So like. Hey. A demon man with experience and genuine passion in running a village? In fucking Naruto? Instantly, so much potential.
HIM GETTING MAD AB HOW THE VILLAGE IS RUN IS SO FUNNY ACTUALLY. Thorn is crossing his arms tutting disapprovingly as he squints at the different aspects of shinobi and civilian life as they're managed by the rules and regulations of Konoha.
Thorne himself is a civillian, so it'd be interesting to see how he views the systems of Konoha from that lense. Konoha is a shinobi village and Thorne straight up doesn't even know what a shinobi is, so the whole system probably reads as really weird for him from the beginning
ALSO YOUR SO RIGHT AB THE BLOODLINE THING CONFUSING HIM AND THATS SO FUN
The thing is like. Literally who and how is Thorne supposed to figure out that no, none of these guys are demons. Yes, that includes the visibly not human looking people. Yes, some of these people using the title of demon as an insult. No, they are not actual demons.
Thorne is so fucking confused and has little to no real way to actually piece together that everyone around him is human. He could just ask, obviously, but that'd be a weird fucking thing to do and Thorne was raised on a fear of being killed for being what he is.
And even tho he's able to walk around (in his own world) as a Known Demon now, by the time he realizes everyone in this new village thinks he's a fr human-- well, he's already seen some villagers talking about "the demon fox" and throwing things at Naruto for being a so called demon.
So.
He has quite a bit of motivation to be on his fucking tippy toes ab this subject
And obviously yk, it's not like he can just crack open a random book and read out "ah yes, this world is populated by humans, and demons-- known more commonly as yokai, also exist and are seen as proper monsters and are also super rare and just about never take human form" like. What kinda book just reads that
Anyways all of this is to say that Thorne has a proper Situation to figure the fuck out and by the time he even realizes that there is a situation to figure out, he has more than enough reason to be fucking scared of what might happen if he fucks this up
Anyways uhh.
Having fun thinking ab things like seals and talismans and stuff designed to target biiju and spirits also affecting Thorne. Where would Thorne fall, as a proper demon from another world? He isn't quite a spirit, not really, but he certainly isn't anything human.
I think it'd be fun if he registered as some sort of yokai, which also pings him on the radar of the biiju.
Let's go with the hc that yokai used to be super common in the warring states, proper mideval fantasy japan where spirits lurk around every corner and you must always be mindful of your surroundings. But then the biiju were sealed, and suddenly yokai just started disappearing. It's unclear as to why, but popular theories tend to follow the same thought process of "well, the yokai felt the biiju being sealed and fled out of fear"
Now, ~60 years later, yokai are pretty much never seen. They still exist, probably, but pretty much no humans have seen them in decades. Or if they have, it's rare enough occurrences that it's an entire Thing(tm) and either is kept secret or the guy who saw them fucking died
ANYWAYS. ALL OF THAT IS TO SAY UHHH.
Yeah. Yokai Thorne not fully aware that he would be considered a yokai in this world where yokai haven't been seen in decades. Very fun implications.
He absolutely would try to help the biiju separate from their jinchuriki bc he considers the biiju as demons and like. He is also a demon. Demon solidarity.
Thorne is a character whos been proven to love his people. He literally committed his life into trying to just provide for the refuges of his race. When he was given the chance to help create a village for demons, he took to it like a fish to water. He used his own money when they run low, he helped to take care of the children, he really, really cares for his people.
And, well, now the biiju are his people too
Oh also!! I think it's interesting to point out too that Thorne isn't unfamiliar to the idea of moving between worlds/realms; He was a refugee from the demon realm when he was a child, and then came to uhh. Whatever Remilia's world would be called, ig. Is it earth? Idunno
But like, he did that!! He came from another realm!!
Then Remilia herself goes into several pocket dimensions and like, god realms or whatever, so theres that too
Idk I just think it'd be an interesting thing to point out if he gets tossed into Naruto-- it wouldn't be his first time as some sort of refugee from another world, having to adapt to an entirely new world filled with strange people and customs.
Food for thought
Uhhh I had a few other thoughts on this but Im ngl, I kinda forgot them. Might come back to this later
Anyways yeah, Thorne, I love him so much. Thank you for your ask!!

Today, Novel (chumblr : @noveloctoling ) came over to me and Lee's place today. She brought along a entire chalkboard, sat me down, and explained the entirety of the Sonic the Sailfish lore.
lee took this photo by the way
Over the course of three hours, I took notes on important aspects of the lore, including the timeline, important world building factors, and important character relationships. For example, she described the relationship between Gerald and Doom as 'toxic old man yoai'. I don't know how to feel about this, I don't know if its canon that the mad scientist mammal and the evil king dictator are even together, but they are supposed to have a kid together (didn't know Shadow had two dads?). Anyways, I found the use of both real life inspiration and fantasy to be a big interest in why I found it so fascinating. Novel also told me that there was very big diversity in the cast who worked behind the series, including multiple Salmonids, so I thought that was neat.
Overall I was glad that she came over to yap, I could just see the sparkle in her eyes as she talked so passionately about this. I knew Lee really enjoyed listening to Novel. After all, it was Novel who got Lee into this series in the first place.
#now is all we have left#the art of free will#wayward activist#ooc: Sonic the Sailfish is actually a AU i've been developing!#its basically me fusing my two hyperfixations into one story#the entire reason why there is multiple references to real Splatoon things is because i've fused those factors together#if you want to know more about the au just send neomagicstar a ask!!!#splatoon#splatoon oc#splatoon rp#splatoon 3#splatoon fanart#splatoon art

A long ramble lmao.
It did the best it could do adaptation wise with regards to how it’s paced as a manga.
I think many who came from it just as a bl jdrama don’t realise structurally it can’t be the ‘slow pace’ yall expect it to be. In regards to the manga, they’ve only recently gotten together, at least officially (looking at you kohei assuming you be taichi were boyfriends until Taichi had to ask in four seasons 1 lmao).
I do appreciate so much that the drama kept the spirit of sunspot alive and didn’t push the romance aspect at the forefront. It’s about them as characters first. Not their romance.
Taichi needs sig-n as a professional environment where he finally feels heard. And I’m glad kohei has others like Maya (and later the deaf footsal team but that’s for later in the manga to let him challenge his own internalised ableism, especially ryuu) who he can relate to, spite towards the world and all, it’s nice that Kohei has the unfiltered version of him to bounce off of and feel understood on a disability basis.
I’m also so happy they let Maya have her time to shine. Show why she is the way she is. It’s so upsetting that people refuse to see her depth and just continue to judge her for being mean and ‘not trying enough’, making it obvious these are the same people the manga and adaptation are criticising, criticising for putting the burden onto Maya to bend herself for others, ultimately then giving in to the ‘bitchy’ attitude since she’ll never be enough, as taichi said, she can’t try harder than she already is but she always feels like she has to. And I’m so glad they also let Taichi say how Maya is still coping in an unhealthy way.
This scene is so important. And I am so glad they kept it in. They’re never gonna be on amazing terms, they won’t ever will be, not everyone gets along. But they’re closer to understanding one another and that important. Maya is starting to see that Taichi isn’t the ableist sponge/leech she assumed he was, that not all able bodied people are ableist assholes, that she can be understood and be sympathised with. It’s. It’s beautiful.
There’s some changes that I definitely think made the adaptation a bit… lesser. Which is when it tried to combine three scenes/moments from the manga into one. Which confused me.
At the end of book 1, Kohei and taichi watch a movie where Taichi sees how troublesome it is for Kohei to see the subtitles. Making Taichi ultimately want to help make Kohei’s life a little easier (a nice foreshadowing of sig-n helping him make his dreams achievable, letting Taichi find his calling in life). It was actually a movie adaptation of the story the girl who romanticised Kohei and his disability was talking about. Kohei said how he related to the guy learning sign language, since he is also starting to learn it. Leading Kohei to try and teach Taichi some sign, leading to them holding hands and Kohei being like “..I won’t do anything you hate” referring to the kiss. And the book ends.
It’s such a wonderful set up for what Taichi wants to do, to find his calling (and in limit to have Kohei think he and his disability is at fault for taichi dropping out of uni and leaving him.) making it an amazing way to bring in sig-n which allows him to make the change Taichi wants to be a part of. It’s a place Taichi belongs in. It’s not just there to create a wedge between Taichi and Kohei, it’s there to be an answer for Taichi who never knew what he wanted to do. It’s somewhere where he’s finally like “this is it. I feel like this is the place.”
In the manga, at the start of ‘theory of happiness’ taichi and kohei aren’t talking to each other because of a VERY rocky incident that happened.
Between the first and second book (around the camping episode) taichi once got very drunk at work while kohei was in the area. Kohei bumped into taichi and since taichi was like “YAAAAAAAY MY FRIEND”, so they let Kohei take him home. Taichi was of no help to Kohei finding his home so Kohei ended up taking Taichi t his own home to give him some water and such. While Taichi was falling asleep ok the couch, Kohei said “if you keep being like this I’ll have to kiss you. And I promised I wouldn’t do anything you hate”, leading drunken Taichi to say “what if I didn’t hate it??”
Making kohei be like “wait what???”, he climbs on top of taichi to try and get an explanation out of what he said, freaking him out. Taichi jumps up and tries to run away as Kohei grabs onto him. Taichi freaks out and shoves Kohei to the floor and runs away in shame, not really talking to each other for a while after that because it was all very awkward, Taichi wanted to at least but Maya was trying to protect Kohei from who she thought was a bad person. (That’s actually what the conversation at Taichi’s home was about originally. Both felt awful and like the other hated them for what they did to the other. But when they spoke then and realised they both felt bad and didn’t hate the other, kohei was like “oh thank god!!!” And fell to the floor in relief.). It’s either they tried to add it as a moment in between the two books they were adapting or completely ignored it which is WEIRD.
It…it also tried to combine the camping episode. After the main part of book 2, which will be after the 12th episode where taichi and kohei start to try (key word: try) and navigate their lives together more maturely. Sig-n has a camp out retreat and Taichi invites Kohei, knife drop and everything. It follows a good amount of the plot beats like with Taichi telling kohei it’s okay to just let out his laughter and joy and such. Maya and Taichi actually also get to exchange in some banter.
But here’s the most important part. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THAT WHOLE CAMPING CHAPTER THAT THEY JUST MISSED OUT ON.
There was the cookout that Kohei was helping when suddenly his hearing just…..goes… he could not hear anything.
And just as that happens of the kids Were messing about and accidentally nocked over a boiling hot pot. Taichi noticed and pushed the kids out of the way. Ultimately getting himself burned and gaining a scar in the process that haunts Kohei throughout limit. Since Kohei couldn’t hear Taichi getting hurt he only realised the man he loves was in danger only after he got hurt and was receiving help from Chiba-san (nasty furthering what was before a teeny bit of jealousy since it’s grown to always be Chiba there for Taichi and not Kohei himself.) This fucks up kohei a lot. That because he couldn’t hear he could not be there for Taichi. This plays so well into the main internal conflict of Limit where Kohei feels the need to distance himself from Taichi thinks he sees himself as a burden to Taichi and as a bad partner who can’t be there… because of his disability that could grow even worse.
I think that’s one of the main issues with what went on there. They left out the main showcases of how human and flawed these characters are.
They left out the main reasons the guys would he rocky around each other because of how much they care for one another but with their own flawed ways of going about it. It’s about being human first and a romance afterwards. So I think it may have confused the narrative. But that’s just an adaptational mishap. I still enjoy the Jdrama very much!! They still have trust humanity to it. They’re young adults, they’re just slightly younger than me, AND I FUCK UP ALL THE TIME, it’s the warts and all approach to this really lovely story about two people who ultimately fall in love and get together, but not have that define them as human beings. Because romance doesn’t define us, so romance shouldn’t define them. I’m really really upset for all the hate it’s getting just because it’s not like the other bls out there. Just because they’re stupid young adults with their own baggage trying to navigate their own world and themselves and their feelings.

how i would fix the oc
this is going to be a loooooong post
season 1 – doesn't need any fixing in my opinion, i actually don't think i'd take away the luke/julie relationship even though it was digusting because it did have a big impact on the plot and i also don't think i'd take away anna and luke leaving because it would probably take away from the closeness of the core four
regardless of that, i do think it was a mistake to make them leave but the show would've been extremely different then
season 2 – i would probably make summer care for marissa more in 2x07 when she's shouting at her parents, because summer (and the others too) all kind of watched but didn't take care of her which i found a bit odd
i would have made lindsay return at the end of season 2, at caleb's funeral
she was a part of that family and i really think she could've had a great friendship with ryan and a really cute sisterly relationship with marissa, she could have been taken in by the coopers
season 3 – they could've dealt with the fallout of the trey situation more, in my opinion and the relationship between dean hess and taylor was unneccessary and didn't impact the plot in any way, shape or form
instead of charlotte being a scammer, they could have made her a new and loyal friend to kirsten but then again, it strengthened her friendship with julie, which is one of my favorite aspects of the later seasons
when johnny died, i think ryan could have definitely been way more empathetic – he would've let marissa grieve and they would have talked out their feelings about the situation, and they wouldn't have one of their last conversations as a couple being her saying that he was glad about johnny's death
they still would have decided to break up, but ryan would not have dated sadie, but marissa still would have dated volchok
she also would have kept her friendship with chili at first, with volchok coming between the two
when she got 'redeemed' by breaking up with him, she would have befriended chili again
the end of the season would have stayed the same, but ryan and marissa would have hugged one last time before her death
season 4 – it would have started with marissa's funeral, showing a lot of old characters returning
there would have been no sound, but we would see the faces of the characters and feel the impact of her death
it would be shown that ryan is not in attendance but we would see him standing at the door of the church briefly, looking in
at brown, anna would be summer's roommate and would take in taylor's position in the group
ryan would not be in a relationship with anyone at the beginning of the season but would strengthen his friendship with the others
maybe an old ex of his would come back or he would get together with taylor, but not as early as it happened in the actual show
the impact of marissa's death would be a lot more clear, with seth also grieving (very important)
frank would come back and attempt to contact ryan and would still do his guilt tripping/lying thing but they'd decide to not remain in contact at the end
julie would not have dated him, but bullit would still exist and be in a relationship with her but he would be less of a caricature and more of an actual character, and his father-daughter relationship with kaitlin would be focussed on even more
the part where julie and kaitlin both are into his son would not exist
i still think there should be a second love interest for her, because the impact of her not choosing anyone at the end would be stronger then, but i don't like the incestuous relationship with frank and the shared sibling between ryan and marissa
the earthquake would still happen, and the sethmer storyline would stay the same as well
next is the finale, but i'll make a seperate post for that

The 18th Day of G-Witch: Precious Things
So, off the bat I get to address a complaint I saw about Miorine pop-up later in the show: Prospera never manipulates her into her bad choices, she makes them on their own.
And that's true, to an extent. Nearly every bad choice Miorine makes starting in this episode and into the next few were ultimately decisions she made. But in every case, it was Prospera's words that pushed her towards making those decisions. Prospera doesn't actually have to heavily manipulate Miorine into playing into her hands, she doesn't have to actually convince her to do these things, because she understands Miorine so well that she knows just what to say to make Miorine make those choices herself.
This is a perfect example of that. Prospera wonders aloud if Suletta will really give up Aerial and stay uninvolved in her schemes, thus pushing Miorine to concoct a plan to forcibly separate Suletta from Aerial. Time and again, Prospera hands Miorine the rope and she hangs herself with it.
These scenes make this episode so tough. You can tell Suletta has been waiting for Miorine, you can tell how excited she is to finally be reunited with her. And you can tell how excited she is that Miorine is about to turn 17 and they can officially get married. Look at her face, Suletta is so ready to marry Miorine as soon as possible.
This was essentially Miorine's last hail mary attempt to avoid something drastic. I think if she would have gotten a positive reply from Suletta, she would have asked Suletta to simply give up Aerial to Prospera/The Benerit Group and tried a different route of breaking Prospera's grip on Suletta. But Suletta's answers combined with Prospera's earlier words push Miorine into drastic measures.
Look, ultimately I don't like Guel and I disliked his character development and how much focus he got in S2 at the cost of more important characters. But at least the guy handles being rejected properly and accepts Suletta's response. Which makes the way parts of the fandom and even Bandai itself continuing to try and push this relationship so annoying and frustrating. He got rejected TWICE, accepted Suletta's rejection and moved on with his life. I feel bad for fans of his who keep getting stuck with merch trying to push that aspect of his character.
Also, there's nothing complicated about this scene, there's no love triangle going on. Only homophobes desperate to downplay a same-sex relationship would turn a scene where a girl clearly rejects a guy while explaining she has feeling for someone else (Miorine) into some sort of complicated relationship situation. Looking at you, Anime Trendz.
As if to drive home the fact that Suletta was talking about Miorine in the last scene, Miorine also reiterates that she doesn't want to lose the things precious to her (Suletta). I know it was frustrating when the show was airing that they never said "I love you," but given what we know in retrospect, I'm glad the staff still found ways to show that these girls loved each other. I'm so tired of people saying they had no chemistry or their relation was a weak one because they never said those exact words, when we now know that Bandai would have never let the staff do that.
Miorine is doing everything for Suletta's sake, even going behind her back and making decisions for her because she thinks it's for the best (just like her father did to her). This also begins the very frustrating trend of Guel silently sitting back instead of speaking out, because he clearly sees that what she's doing won't keep Suletta uninvolved. And considering his feelings for her, you'd like to think he'd push Miorine a bit harder towards a less drastic course of actions than the one that would hurt her so much.
This is a duel Suletta detractors love to point to when they say Suletta isn't skilled and is carried by the Aerial. "Override is cheating and Suletta was only about to win this fight because she cheated" was a common argument I saw. Setting aside that it's not against the rules, by the same vein, Guel is also cheating by using the AI assist to basically do most of the piloting for him. Funny how people are quick to disparage Suletta's skill as a pilot because they think Ericht controlled the whole suit (it was just the bits), but when Guel literally has an AI program pilot the whole MS for him, there's suddenly not a peep out of those people about Guel being a bad pilot. And sorry I know this is kind of a pointless rant but I've had to read too many sexists on Twitter and Reddit tell me how good Guel is and how bad Suletta is to not say anything.
Anyway, even though Guel had a newly repaired and upgraded Darilbalde against Suletta's damaged Aerial, Suletta still basically had Guel beat easily before the AI saved him and put Suletta on the defensive.
Like, I know Suletta doesn't literally say "Will you marry me?" but look at this dialogue and tell me with a straight face it's not a marriage proposal. If you think this scene is anything but Suletta asking Miorine if she'll marry her, you're either homophobic or have a horrible case of heteronormative you need looked at.
Miorine is a stronger woman than I am. After hearing that I don't think I would've had the strength to push that button, and you can even see her hands shaking in that moment. The anguish she must feel hearing Suletta say those words and knowing what she's about to do must have killed her inside.
Also...we saw what the GUND-BIT Rifle does to a mobile suit even in school regulation mode. Suletta was so determined to win and marry Miorine that I think she was seconds away from accidentally straight up murdering Guel here.
Honestly, this scene probably hurt me more than any Gundam death ever has. I was depressed for a long time after it aired, and it absolutely made in so much worse that there was a one week delay until episode 18 aired, making this the last thing we saw for two whole weeks until the next episode (which was more pain!) Even though this is my 4th time watching it, it's still difficult to sit through, and it's only made bearable by knowing there's a happy ending waiting for them at the end of this.
Lynn said in an interview that Miorine had to be as cruel as she possibly could in this scene because if Suletta had detected even the slightest hint of kindness or care for her in Miorine's words and actions, she would have held onto that and not let go.
I definitely agree that Miorine's actions here are awful to Suletta and I understand it when people say they wouldn't personally be able to forgive her after something like this. But also realize that:
Miorine never expected Suletta to forgive her or come back to her, and she was fully prepared to throw away her own happiness and her relationship with Suletta for the chance that she could break Suletta free of Prospera and let her live an independent, happy life.
For better or worse, as horrible as this is, it does work. This puts a massive dent into Suletta's belief that listening to her mother and following her motto will always lead to gaining positive things in life. And that dent is important in the next episode.

UNHOLYVERSE CLOSING THOUGHTS YIPPEEEE YIPPEE YIPPEE

it’s 1am and I’ve finished it :)
the plot was fucking amazing as was the writing, it was like a really really good tv show, or maybe an amazing movie (pt1) and its slightly more deranged sequel (pt2 and 3). I think I definitely preferred all things unholy as a whole, but yeah the next parts really did feel very sequel-like, in that the first one was The Story and the second and third were building on that first core story, expanding the characters and world. which ummmm btw the lore is insane??? so much going on lmfao but I think it all worked really well. the fallout boy stuff was fucking wild though icl because WHAT 💀 I’m also obsessed with the idea of god talking to frank in the form of the cardinal dream, that worked soooo well and still leaving it open at the end is great. I’m so glad frank and gerard got a happy ending, I ship those stupid twats SO hard I’m literally clawing at the walls they make me INSANE RRAAHHHH!!! icl I really didn’t care about mikey and ray’s romance like at all but it worked as a source of conflict and was pretty cute
I kind of forgot it was meant to be mcr fanfic for a while lmfao, which brings me on to I guess the most important part which is my main takeaway on the whole rpf thing
as I’ve said in a post before, I really struggle to picture voices and faces accurately in my head when reading. well except when it comes to buffyverse characters, but that’s just because those shows are so deeply ingrained into my psyche forever that istg I could literally channel buffy summers at this point and just become her. lmfao but yeah I really struggle with that! so when I’m reading, I just kind of create a vibe, a vague mind’s-eye image of a character, it’s very hard to explain. so for me these frank, gerard, mikey, etc characters were subconsciously already way far removed from the real people, like I had to consciously make an effort to make them sound and look exactly like them in my head. but like I said, it felt like a real piece of media like a tv show or something, so to me the unholyverse characters are just that - characters. it really felt like mcr playing movie roles lmfao which I was perfectly happy with. the romance and other relationships were written soooooo well, the real problem was ofc the smut!
I don’t like smut in general, not in a judgy or censor-y way, I just get no joy or kick out of reading it and all it does is make me feel awkward. but with rpf smut, even though I see unholyverse frank and gerard as fictional characters, I can’t ignore the fact that THIS IS FULLY EXPLICIT WHAT IS ESSENTIALLY PORN BEING WRITTEN ABOUT REAL PEOPLE 💀 read it write it all you want, personally I find it uncomfortable and it just doesn’t do anything for me. made me think too much about the fact that it WAS rpf, yk?? got me thinking about the real frank and gerard and how fucking weird it would be to read smth like that about yourself idk, also the fact they have wives and kids…. 😟 gosh idk it was very very well-written smut, it just made me so icked out the more I thought about it
but anyway, OVERALL: I loved it. it was so good, will definitely reread, bookmark, and think about it for a very very very long time. possibly scream and cry and tear my hair out too, idk. part 1 was my favourite by a long shot, it’s so iconic, and feels pretty removed from parts 2 and 3 in a nice way that makes it feel like a movie and its strange sequel. I’ve discovered I like rpf when it’s good and when it’s a complete au and the people feel like original fictional characters in their own right. I don’t enjoy rpf smut, though, AT ALL, which isn’t a surprise bc I don’t enjoy smut in general, the rpf aspect just made it way more uncomfy for me personally. kind of feel the need now to bleach my brain out and consume normal mcr content just to remind myself of the disconnect between unholyverse frerard and the real people lmfao
OH ALSO THAT
I do NOT ship frerard irl, that shit’s fucking weird don’t do it. yes there is a difference between fic like this and saying two married friends and colleagues in real life are actually in love with and attracted to each other. I do for sure ship unholyverse frerard, as I’ve said they’re fictional characters to me
#danny reads unholyverse#unholyverse#uhv#mcr#my chem#my chemical romance#my chemical fucking romance#gerard way#gee way#frank iero#I really liked this fic you guys oh goddd oh auughghh

Owari no Seraph Chapter 133 - Analysis & Review
Hello everyone, it's been a goddamn while; I've been busy with things, also learning constantly a new language; thus, given that I did like the latest chapter, I wanted to talk or discuss about it; as always, feel free to discuss, disagree, or share your thoughts; though of course, the only thing I request is respect.
Thus let's proceed
A destroyed world a talk about the "meaning of life" & "what it means to live". At the end, we're young.
The chapter might joke a lot between the girl's conversation which it might feel unnecesary or perhaps not worth it but given how the two characters were build; Shinoa is the type of character that does know when there's certain tension when someone is concerned about her.
But let's focus on something more important; the chapter begins with Mitsuba finally finding Shinoa who has been far away from her squad after Guren, Mahiru, Krul and company left to most likely the place where Yuu is.

Mitsuba after for so long finally made an appearance which is something I'm glad for; and as a good friend, she shows her concern given that she's never seen Shinoa act out of her usual demanor.

Something that I do find adorable is the very fact that Mitsuba is trying to be supportive given that there is a weight being carried on Shinoa's shoulders; while it's true Shinoa has never spoken about what she endured as a child; Mitsuba does want to understand her friend and no matter what might happen, they're there for her.

Thus leading to the next panel; Shinoa has always seen herself as a character with no value or rather, that thanks to her existance, the lives of innocents were screwed given that she was compatible with the monster that made sure the world ended in the way it is.
But once again, Mitsuba does convey the message of how Yoichi, Kimizuki and her feel towards her given that there's absolutely no one to reasure her that her life is as valuable as others.

And of course, we got the author with its weird interest on female bodies but; jokes aside from such panel; there's an aspect of truth to it. They are teenagers, they're no longer kids; they're characters that were forced to grow up at a very young age, forced to change to endure all the struggles of their surroundings to the point they had to mimic adults in a sense.
Many might find it pointless, boring, and perhaps even unrelated but the very fact that they touched the emotions of Shinoa does lead to a heavier topic.
Such topic is reflected in the next panel:

While it's true that Yuu has constantly talked about "a reason to live", "family", "friends", etc. Yuu does not know the weight of those words; he says he's going to save everyone, but in order to save somoene, there are consequences, losses and the sort in such path; nothing can be obtained for free in life and that's something that perhaps he might face eventually.
Returning with the squad, Mitsuba at first dismisses such question about the "meaning of life".

There is a huge relevance to the question; and this of course, reflects to the very first issue; that they've been working on how to save their lives that they haven't ever thought about themselves.
While it is very common to see that whenever someone says "that person thinks about themselves" it can come in a negative connotation; but that's not entirely the case; there's a difference between being selfish and understanding one's self.
When it comes to being selfish, it does relate about not caring a bit about what your actions may eventually do to others, how much harm you may cause due to them, willingly or not; it is literally dismissing a reason to as to why there may be something halting something one may want.
But, when it comes to understanding one's self; it is not only a superfitial level of understanding; it is knowing what one person may want, may long, may fight for, what may make them sad, what may anger them, etc.
In this case, Mitsuba realized that she has never given a deep thought to what she, as Mitsuba Sanguu truthfully wants. She grew up to be a soldier, to battle every time in order to protect those who couldn't protect themselves but with the development of the squad, it was not just a journey of sticking together, it was a journey of finding out that love can develop after getting to meet someone.
Eventually, Mitsuba does understand that it's not the typical joke mood or non serious conversation but rather a very important one.

In the next panel, Mitsuba's first longing or desire was to be acknowledged or to be validated. To be recognized; which of course, Shinoa mentions that she does understand that and it is true; Shinoa as a child did want validation from everyone or rather, instead of the term "validation", what it is more proper is "recognition or acknowledgement of existance".

True, in the current chapter Shinoa mentions she was luckier given that they never bothered with her; there's a difference between Mitsuba and Shinoa, which was showing what they could do in order to seek that. Mitsuba tried her best to show that she too held talent; alas with Shinoa, she simply ditched the idea, there was no reason to even fight about it.

But thanks to the very fact that she remembered what Mahiru did even if I too, agree that it was a really harsh method; she did know that at least someone cared about her existance.

Mitsu states that Shinoa was loved in contrast to her that no one loved her; which makes Shinoa to reasure her that she does love Mitsuba. And of course, while it's true that the original source uses the kanji Ai (愛) it does not carry a romantic context (Yes I've been studying if you wonder and there's still a longer way ahead).
Shinoa is reasuring Mitsuba that she too is loved; just like how Mitsuba expressed on her best way that Yoichi, Kimizuki and her cared about Shinoa's safety; Shinoa too knows that the squad itself cares about each other; after all, they're a small family that can only encourage each other to keep going.

But here comes something important that perhaps it might be to personal interpretation but Shinoa does state something important:
Because love exists for someone, it does not mean that's the sole reason to the meaning of life or for a reason to live.
What does that mean?
Us as humans, be in the different envioroments we end up growing, we end up finding purposes for our existance, sometimes it takes longer, other times we have certainty that we found out what we want to do with our lives; along such trail, we will find friends, perhaps a person we might fall in love; we might suffer about a heartbreak or two or so on; but despite that, it's a path we've chosen to walk because very independent of the bonds we forge along the way; there are things we want to do out there, we long for new experiences, new insights, new spots to visit, and of course, we can never suspend the time; we grow up, we mature, we gain interest in other things as we grow which is visible how from childhood, we change a lot when we become teenagers, so as adults too, we change.
In Shinoa's case, she is truthful that she does not find value to her life, given how many chains of events involving her lead to misfortune for others; but despite that, she is thankful that there are people out there that do love her despite the harm her existance may has brought up upon Earth.
Nevertheless, we get a follow up, once Shinoa expressed herself, Mitsuba asks her directly about Yuu's acknowledgement, recognition or validation. Which of course, she responds honestly to it.

It hurts; and it is natural that it hurts her; it's the first time she fell in love with someone but not in the same way Mahiru did, not in the same turn of events Mahiru went through; after all, it's something I'll discuss a bit further from here. Let's continue.

Shinoa eases the mood by asking Mitsuba about how she feels towards Yuu which of course she knows very well that she too has a crush on him. But despite that many might feel the conversation as pointless, there's something certain to the panel itself; it is letting the weight and torment of many mixed emotions go, finally opening up to someone who understands you, to have someone you can trust unconditionally.

The mood eventually soothes to the point the two of them are in peace; having talked about such things when they've never had the opportunity to act like teenage girls, it was a rather refreshing experience for them.
I can't say that's correct or not but even in movies that face the end of the world, characters tend to talk about things they long to do and the sort.

Once Mitsuba asks Shinoa about her first real reason to live; one could understand that it is left to free interpretation given that both girls are simply enjoying their youth; they still haven't found a very truthful reason as to why they're there but for now; they did understand something.
Life is not just about existance, it's more than just hoping validation or acknowledgment, it is akin to what exactly you want to experience, it is about what you want to do instead of what others want you to do.
This leads to the new path I've mentioned before and this shall be discussed in the next point
Moving onwards to a new goal
After a girl's talk; Mitsuba points out about Shinoa's talent that is way above Mahiru's; such talent has always been hinted since the LNs were created.

Shinoa mentions that given that at that time she lacked a motive along goals within her reach; and of course, even Shikama pointed it out that she lacked desires, there was not so much she could do despite being more powerful than Mahiru, nevertheless, Mitsuba is aware Shinoa has gained something she lacked from the very beginning. Confidence.

This leads for Shinoa to have a discussion with her squad, but of course, they were eavesdropping the girls; they gave them their privacy. While they too are clumsy, reckless, immature in general, they too understand that people need some time alone to recollect their thoughts; they understand that there are things that sometimes can only be discussed with a certain someone not because of a lack of interest but rather because there is something that can be conveyed way better.
But very independent of that, it just reflects that Yoichi and Kimizuki have been worried as well about the girls after Yuu's departure along Guren and Vampires.

The next scene is actually something I am rather thankful that I actually thought I'd never see in the story in general; and that is the very fact that they're taking independent action for once; they're no longer following Guren's orders, they're no longer following a vampire's guidance that ends up falling in Guren's hand or Shikama's; nor they are following Yuu's wishes but rather; they're trying to open up a new path but exclusively for what they do label as "family".

Within the squad members, Kimizuki, Yoichi and Mitsuba long to see their families back due to the unfair deaths they had; Shinoa despite not having someone to call family or rather simply accepting the course of nature; she does want to see her friends having their families back, she has seen them struggle, she has seen the desperation of Kimizuki, the longing of Yoichi to have a miracle granted. But instead of following someone else's agenda given that Guren and Mahiru do have knowledge that they simply won't share to the squad; it is the first step for them to walk and open a new path for them.

Shinoa is very aware that their knowledge is limited, along the fact that they're not on an equal ground in terms of power; but given that now she does have confidence and something else; as I mentioned briefly in the other point; Shinoa has a deep understanding that the actions her sister took, do not defind her present or future nor how she will eventually turn out; such outcomes are only decided by her alone and if she wants to create a path along her friends, she has to fight for it giving away for the first time, the real power she has within her.

The very fact that Kiseki-O and Gekkouin were manifested by force instead by their wielders says something about what Shikama sought with Shinoa, what could it be?
Correct. Shikama or Sika Madu, was once an angel that served God but due to his arrogance, he lost his path leading to his eternal punishment for it; but even still, even if the angels that fell with him deemed or viewed him as a God. There was something even the reincarnations of such Fallen Angels were never subjected to.
Absolute control.

And thanks to reading the RAW version of the catastrophe at 16 manga; the purpose of Mahiru and Shinoa at the beginning was to control the punishment the Seraph of the End experiment held. But in contrast to Mahiru; Shinoa was born capable to control demons, she was capable of seeing them from a very young age but given that she has motivation along an objective; that power finally has shined. Leading to a new battle:

Perhaps you, dear readers may wonder how Shinoa was able to connect with Shikama despite him sending her off or cutting their ties; and of course, she does mention there was a small connection; truth to be told; even if Shikama wanted, she was born with him; they were together ever since she came to existance, hence that even if he tried to severe his ties to her, there will be something chaining him down.

And of course, the battle between Shinoa and Shikama has begun

Shikama gave away his power for light BUT, given that Shinoa could devour such darkness; it can only lead this
All the power that came from God's light may be stored in Shinoa's body and as they say, even if darkness tries to consume light; light always finds a way to cast aside the shadows that darkness creates.
Quite long huh? What do you think?
Let me know!!

Tipping the Scales
Chapter 12
Benny found his way back into the main hall, and was somewhat surprised to see a number of ghostly servants scurrying about, making preparations Benny couldn’t immediately make sense of. “What’s going on?” he asked Bad Cop once the God of Death seemed done with giving out orders. “Do we have an update?” He pouted as the delicious aroma of Bad Cop’s cup of ambrosia wafted toward him, making his stomach clench in want. Would ambrosia still count as ‘food from the Underworld’? It must be, he decided after a minute. Bad Cop had no way of getting anything imported.
“Good Cop failed spectacularly in mentioning to me before now that there’s a new goddess.” Benny blinked in shock. The Messenger had never breathed a word of her to any of them, either.
“An intentional omission?”
“Rather, he didn’t think her to be any sort of threat before now. She wasn’t very powerful. Seems with your Light being gone, her power is no longer being suppressed. She threw Emmet into the Shadowlands.”
Benny went white as a sheet. “Is he okay?!”
Bad Cop nodded, and Benny relaxed. “Good Cop and Business found him, got him out of there so he could recover. Seems their plan is to climb back up to the palace, once he’s feeling up to it, where he’ll act as a distraction for my brother to sneak in and speak to Watevra. With any luck, she’ll have collected everyone’s tokens and be on her way down here by nightfall tomorrow to break the barrier that keeps me trapped. Hopefully they won’t even realize she’s gone until it’s too late.”
Benny was silent as he thought that over. “But I helped to make it,” he said eventually, barely audible. “And I’m on this side of it. How’s she going to get my token?”
“I’ve finally convinced my brother to come collect you once he’s finished his task at the palace,” Bad Cop responded with equal softness. “Reminded him of that very thing, in fact. It seems I’ll need to be freed regardless; Lucy stole Business’ power. Even with your Light returned, it won’t be enough to banish them again. With Business down for the count and Vitruvius refusing to be of any assistance, you’ll need my help.”
Benny swallowed hard. It seemed he hadn’t been too far off the mark after all; he’d just pinned the blame on the wrong deity. “What are her aspects?”
“Anarchy. Rebellion. Something else… they’ve taken to calling it the Moon. A pale reflection of your Light, it seems, and almost as powerful. Coupled with Business’ power and Rex’s backing, she’s proving too much of a challenge for the others to handle.”
“Where did she come from?”
Bad Cop found himself glad he’d grilled his brother for information on her. It seemed Benny was as intent on going into this as informed as he could be, as well. Yet another detail about the Sun God that made his heart flutter. “The Man Upstairs made her, around a century ago.” Benny gasped. Bad Cop could commiserate; they’d all been ignored for so long. “Dropped her straight into the Shadowlands with my brother and Business and Rex. Good Cop and Business never could figure out why, but it seems Rex was quick to take advantage and turn her to his side. All their attempts to try to warn her away from him were met with… extreme resistance.”
“Rebellion,” Benny murmured.
Bad Cop nodded. “Seems she’ll have to learn the hard way that such bull-headedness will only land her in trouble.”
“I don’t know. Rex might be a hopeless case, but I have faith that Emmet will be able to talk her around.”
Bad Cop raised an eyebrow in disbelief. “Even after she threw him down here?”
Benny grinned. “He’s got a way with words. You’ll see when you meet him. So what is it you’ve got everyone working on?”
“Getting precautionary measures put into place before the barrier is broken. It’s my power that makes the Veil work. When I leave to help you reclaim the palace, it will be up to them to keep any wayward souls from leaving again.” He paused for a moment, shuffling awkwardly. “I haven’t had to delegate like this for a long time.”
“It’ll only be for a short while,” Benny teased. “Then you can come back here and be a workaholic again.” Bad Cop snorted at him.
“It’s not exactly a choice. Suddenly finding myself with a whole lot less to do forced me to find ways to keep myself occupied so I wouldn’t go mad from the isolation.”
“You really would?” That intrigued Benny. Bad Cop had seemed to prefer to keep to himself. Maybe he actually had been just as extraverted as his twin, and had simply grown accustomed to never having company.
“Believe it or not, yes. I’ve never been as outgoing and chatty as Good Cop, but I still enjoyed being around people. Having you here has been… nice. Refreshing.”
Benny smiled at him. “I’ve actually enjoyed my time here too. This place is mind-blowing, and you’ve continually shattered all my expectations. It’s been a thrill to actually get to know you, and I’m ashamed I never bothered to before. I really like you.” Bad Cop blushed a deep red, but managed a smile.
“I like you too.”

Hi! I am glad that someone is interested in my posts! I think it would be more comfortable to respond to your reblog this way, if you don't mind, of course.
- On the lack of a first name
I agree, this was most likely the original plan, but it seems to me that by the end of the season the authors decided to make a completely black-and-white morality, so they had to dehumanize Meridian, and revealing the name and the emotional scene between him and Alex would not help this new idea. I don't blame it on the need to develop the plot quickly, because literally one or two lines of dialogue would fix it. So it was the authors who probably decided to go this way.
-The circumstances around him losing his arm
I understand this, and what surprises me is that there was not a single flashback or further details about this fateful event in the character's life. For example, at the GHOST base, in addition to working for Croft, he was looking for a cure for himself. The viewer could be shown some kind of screen with X-rays or diagrams in the background, where we could see some additional structures that were added by Arachnamechs. That would be an interesting little detail.
-The deal with him and Croft
Yes! I really like the way Meridian worked at these moments, his emotions and attitude towards Croft are obvious, as is her attitude towards him. My problem is that it looks like a puzzle with about 1/5 of the pieces missing. We understand what kind of picture should be in front of us, but the key point is missing. Meridian has been drafted and is supposed to hate the entire organization, not just Croft, but he's not trying to destroy the GHOST or kill other employees. Croft treats him not just as an employee who needs to be exploited to the last, until there is no replacement, as the head of a large villainous organization would behave. No, she does not feel such a level of inner hostility and does not show it towards other employees, only towards Meridian. I got the impression that there must have been a personal conflict between them, some specific event or series of events that made them hate each other. But here either the authors did not want to delve into this additional plot, or they did not come up with a reason.
I'm always up for chatting about Mandroid and other aspects of ES! It's actually quite nice to be able to actually discuss Mandroid's character deeper since IMO there's a lot to talk about.
The thing that gets me is that in the show's Production Bible, Mandroid's character description outright refers to him as a tragic villain. It's like the writers were afraid to actually explore this concept fully since that would go against the show's obsession with making humans that hate Cybertronians automatically terrible people.
There really needs to be a Battle of the Bay flashback not just for Mandroid, but so many other characters as well. Dot lost her leg in that conflict and it's when Megatron switched sides. But nope, the show was too busy bludgeoning the audience with the whole importance of family thing.
The thing about Mandroid is that from what's been shown he only goes after humans if they interfere with his plans (the Maltos) or in Croft's case, treat him like garbage. I see some fan content where it has him going after random humans when he just wouldn't do that. His main concern is Transformers not people.
I've made a post about this before, but IMO Mandroid and Croft are good foils to each other. If Mandroid is fire then Croft is ice. Croft is a very frigid person in general going by her interactions with Schloder and when she tries to arrest Dot and Alex. As ridiculous as her master plan of conquering Cybertron is, it does fit in nicely with her control freak tendencies. I mean, she has a personal army of mindless robots while Mandroid went out of his way to give the Arachnamechs personality. I have this headcanon where the two just instantly disliked each other upon first meeting.

Okay, hold on because this?

You’re spitting nothing but facts. I’ve said this exact same thing on both of my previous blogs (not this one, not yet xmdkxkdnd) about how x reader just was not a thing in Ye Fandom of Olde. I don’t know if people really believe me or if I just sound like a hunch backed crone standing on her front porch waving her cane at the neighborhood kids, yelling at them to appreciate what they’ve got because back in my day … but it really was such an incredibly different landscape. There are certain aspects of it that I miss for sure and others I’m glad to leave in the past.
The completely random conversations between the author and the character(s) among them, GOD, the way that still activates every single one of my cringe reflexes. 😂 Actually my all time favorite fic had those for the first dozen or so chapters, but she thankfully left them in the fore and afterword, not haphazardly placed in the fic itself, so it was easy to ignore haha. I can laugh at it and maybe even look back at it fondly, but I don’t think I want that particular trend to make a comeback any time soon xmxmdnd
It’s kind of surreal in a way, finding someone who knows exactly what I’m talking about and sharing that mutual experience. I know there have to be more of us out there but I feel like a good chunk of them have probably moved on from anime fandom content so I’m very glad to have found you like this. 💕
I unfortunately got busy with one of my own projects yesterday and didn’t get a chance to read anymore of your stuff, but I’m really looking forward to diving in once I’m done. When I tell you I am 👀 eyeballing the hell out of your Sesshomaru fics cmdkxmdmd
Also, if I may ask, are you by any chance a fan of Yu Yu Hakusho? 🥹
"I don’t know if people really believe me or if I just sound like a hunch backed crone standing on her front porch waving her cane at the neighborhood kids, yelling at them to appreciate what they’ve got because back in my day … but it really was such an incredibly different landscape."
We can both be crones, in that case! But no, I completely get what you're saying. It was SO different. I am genuinely appreciative of the fact that "reader fic" is so popular and the distaste I see for it is mainly "it's clogging up the regular tags" rather than the absolute nastiness that used to be associated with any OCs or inkling of "hey I like these characters, wouldn't it be neat if they wanted me?"
OCs in general were considered taboo enough, but reader fic was just… not a "thing" back in the early 2000s, really, not in the style we know it today. When second person was used, it was usaully meant to be stylized (rather than today where the intent of second person is "reader fic," to pull the reader into the story in a different, visceral way) and second person fics would fall into the OC bucket.
Gosh on that note, I remember "Mary Sue Hunter" groups that would find any OCs on ye olde fanfiction.net and leave reviews with forms to determine how much of a "Mary Sue" someone's OC was.
If you were going to attempt an OC, it felt like you had to make them Super Super Boring and Normal and Ordinary and No Actual Characters Ever Fell in Love with Them (except maybe non-important side characters) in order to get people to leave you alone.
Not that there's anything wrong with writing characters who are ordinary but it rarely felt it was an organic decision from the authors, but rather a reflection of what was "okay" to write.
Fandom is so different now. As you said, there's some things I miss ("don't like, don't read" and "you're responsible for what you read" being the standard etiquette, for one...) but plenty that I don't, too.
Also, if I may ask, are you by any chance a fan of Yu Yu Hakusho?
Yessss. I love it. I have so many discarded OCs from my teenage years from YYH, they were all ridiculously self-indulgent ofc. I do want to at some point write a few yandere YYH characters, but I haven't gotten any inspiration for it yet.
#I have a lot of random old vs new fandom thoughts lol#like oldschool 2005-2010 kingdom hearts fandom could not exist today because of how attitudes towards writing certain characters has change#or how there sure were a LOT of teenage girls & women making anime fanpages with games that let you torture female characters to death

I wanna pick at your wonderful mind for a minute; have you got any headcanons regarding Kaitlyn (and your other Quarry muses if you'd like too! ) about the aftermath of Hackett's Quarry? Did Kaitlyn keep in touch with anyone, if so, who? How does she feel about that night?
OH YOU ARE SO LOVELY!!!!!! thank u so much for this omg
so to understand kaitlyn's feelings about that night i'll give you a little context about my hcs for her life in general!! her mom hasn't been in the picture for a while, so she mostly grew up with her dad, who she would describe as an absolute weirdo (affectionate). he's the one who taught her to shoot and general survival skills, he's sort of toeing the line towards being a prepper LMAO but definitely on the more sane side of things, more kooky than unhealthily obsessed if that makes sense ! so for her whole life he's been a big believer in being prepared to fend for yourself, self sufficiency, etc etc. she grew up in one of the bumfuck nowhere areas of upstate ny, lots of trees and animals, her dad bought some land and slapped a manufactured home on top of it type of deal. if you've ever driven around up here (or in any rural area tbh) u know exactly what i mean LMAO.
so needless to say, kaitlyn is SO PISSED to have him proven right!!! /lh. she loves him, their relationship is good, but god it sucks admitting your dad is right after years of telling him to Calm Down. she goes back to living with him while all of the legal aspects are ironed out, he's insanely proud of her for handling herself and defends her very vocally even before the potential charges are dropped. she doesn't really confide in him or anything but he's a strong support to lean on and it helps her to have a place to process and get her shit together.
she takes a gap year before she goes to college, maybe even two. she had been planning on taking one anyways just to work and tuck away a bit of money, she'd been working since she was old enough too but. u know. the cost of school is fucking insane. she kind of wants to go into fashion/costume design for media but she's a little terrified of failure actually. what if she wastes all that time and money and her degree ends up useless?? either way she has way bigger things than that to think about for the first couple years after the Incident.
she and jacob grew up in the same town, so they've always talked pretty regularly, or at least been in adjacent social groups. she keeps talking to him, she likes the familiarity of knowing someone for so long. a lot of her friendships are a little superficial, so she's not really used to still having childhood friends jgkdka so he's important to her. she talks to dylan too, which probably means she talks a little to ryan by extension, but mostly dylan. she definitely worries about him coping with the whole No Hand thing and doesn't want him to feel ditched so she makes it a point to keep in contact with him. she occasionally talks to abi and emma, but she's significantly less close to them, and she doesn't really talk to nick? i think she'd like laura a lot but they would have to actually talk and get to know each other first. ofc that's all dependant on them actually surviving the night gjskfj she is definitely worse off if anyone dies!!
as for how she feels about it all, it definitely takes her a bit of time to start feeling Mentally Stable again but she gets there!! at first she's just exhausted, overwhelmed, still can't really even make sense of what happened and everything they saw. she doesn't really have anyone to process it with outside of their little group of counselors, and she never wants to bother them. there's a decent amount of isolating herself and just trying to piece herself back together on her own. she's definitely proud of herself for surviving and for stepping up to try and protect her friends, she's glad to know that she would really react that way in a crisis, but she never wants to have to be strong in a moment like that again. she's definitely a bit less spontaneous and impulsive, more conscious of the situations she's putting herself in. once the legal stuff is worked out and she's able to get a full time job, the routine helps her a lot and she starts to slowly interact with people again. she's not entirely sure how to let new people in knowing that she can probably never talk about what she actually went through without being dubbed absolutely insane, so a lot of her friendships stay on that same superficial level as before, but the more time that passes between her and that event the easier it gets. i like to think she really does live her dream gjfkskd get involved in something theatrical, settle down with someone nice, just gets to actually relax finally!! god knows she deserves it😭😭
#IM SORRY I WENT INSANE AGAIN#I DIDNT MEAN TO TALK SO MUCH I JUST LOVE KAITLYN SM AND SHES DEFINITELY THE CHARACTER FROM THE QUARRY THAT IVE THOUGHT THE MOST ABOUT#ilu for sending this in tysm!!!#dollhidden#m; kaitlyn ka

Bucchigiri?! Episode 5 Review - Arajin Is Insufferable
I still stand by my opinion of Arajin being Hiroko Utsumi’s weakest written protagonist. If you look at her past works, you can see that they all have some sort of characteristic out of their usual schtick; well, two of Utsumi’s works are adaptations (Free! Is a loose adaptation of a light novel called High Speed and Banana Fish is a manga to anime adaptation) and SK8 is her first original work, but you get what I mean. Five episodes in and he still hasn’t done anything substantial. All he does is fall for the same tricks and tropes. Like, why is he even the MC? Matakara or Mahoro would make better MCs than him.
Like, I get that Arajin’s skirt-chasing and cowardly demeanor has to do with not being manly enough to protect a young Matakara in his childhood, but if he wants to get stronger, he has to stop falling for the same things. He couldn’t protect Matakara when he was younger, but he still can’t protect him in his current state—heck, he won’t even protect him! I can’t fault Utsumi for this because she’s not the writer for this anime. The writer is Taku Kishimoto, who wrote the screenplays for animes like Blue Lock, Ranking of Kings, The Millionaire Detective Balance, and Moriarity the Patriot. I’ve heard people rave about these anime (well, Blue Lock anime is a bit mixed) so why is this one so frustratingly written? Still, as a director, Utsumi should know when to have the MC develop and what not—next week is the halfway point as there will be 12 episodes.
Alright, enough about Arajin, let’s talk about the star of this episode, Akutaro. I think he’s very interesting. He used to be in Minato Kai, but got kicked out due to using underhanded methods. He once admired Kenichiro as he was a strong, manly guy while he was a thin, dainty and unreliable one back then. Getting kicked out changed him drastically as he became more violent and hell bent on getting revenge. I do wonder how much of his chaotic personality comes from the blue genie because I know for a fact that the mind control aspect of the NG Boys army is from magic genie powers. I think that Arajin isn’t aware that Akutaro is manipulating him. He’s being all nice to him after learning about his virginity and cozying up to him to get him in his favor. All the stuff he said about Mahoro was to rile him up purposely, as he had a hunch Arajin was possessed by Senya. Also, the casting director should get a raise because Chihiro Suzuki as Akutaro is a 10/10 casting. Suzuki really delivers on the flamboyant but also devious aspect of this character. Like, I always known him as Kisumi from Free and Luke and Asch from Tales of the Abyss, so to have him voice this character who’s completely different from his usual roles was a joy to listen to; I can tell he was having fun recording! I especially loved him speaking English when explaining the E-4 motto; the way he said Ecstasy was amazing.
I feel so bad for Matakara in a way. Like, he is deluded into believing Arajin is the same person as before, but every single time he has his hopes up, Arajin just plummets down in terms of expectation. This episode is where he is a bit more action-heavy as he tries to beat Akutaro, but loses and gets tied up. I wonder when the breaking point is for him because the opening does seem like he’s going to get possessed by Ichiya or something. The question is when and how that’s going to happen. I’m glad that Zabu is a good person who is able to sense what’s wrong and to admit his mistakes. He’s a better friend to Matakara than Arajin.
I wonder if we’ll get some Kenichiro backstory later on because out of the important gang leaders, he is the least developed so far. All I know is that he’s been held back three times and that he’s rather honorable. I also predict that Jasmine-chan is actually a cat and the place the teacher goes to every episode is a rather high end cat cafe. If it’s not a cat cafe, then it’s probably a gay brothel for bottoms as “neko” (cat) is Japanese gay slang for bottoms. I’m leaning more towards an actual cat cafe given the fancy cat sign.
What is going to happen now that the gang war is starting? What are your thoughts on this episode?
