Manga Rec: The One Within The Villainess

Hey tumblr, I heard you like unhinged women.

The One Within The Villainess is the story of the elaborate revenge plan the protagonist/villainess Remilia enacts on those who had hurt the one she loves the most: the girl who was possessing her body.

It starts as a typical Isekai: Emi, a girl from our world, dies and reincarnates in the body of the villainess of her favorite otome game, Remilia, and decides she will live a happy, generous life. But here is the thing: Remilia is not gone. She is trapped inside her own body, so she can both acess Emi's past memories and watch as Emi lives her life.

And Remilia loves it.

The villainess, from within her own body, genuinely starts to love and adore Emi as her own sister.

But then something (or better, someone) happens (if you know the genre, you can imagine what), and all the friends Emi had tried so hard to make to give the villainess Remelia her happiness suddenly betray her. And the emotional shock is so strong that Emi gets "reverse isekaied": she goes to sleep inside the villainess, and Remilia, who had been watching over her for years now, takes control of her own body back.

And my girl is insanely pissed.

And so starts the journey of our villainess to both achieve "The Villainess Remilia's Happiness" that Emi tried so hard to give her and enact her extremely elaborated and cruel revenge plot against those who took Emi from her. She's unhinged and insanely smart and I love her.

The support cast is pretty good too, and the artwork is amazing. The plot doesn't fall back into cliches and the pay off is immensely satisfying.

Also, can I just say, I am deeply in love with Shiraume Nazuna for spending more than one two-page spread showing off how horribly gaudy that dress was even in full shoujo sparkles and flowers mode. Look at this thing. A+ tacky. The only thing is I wish it was in color so we could see how truly overdone it is. Maybe we'll be so lucky in one of the next chapters.

Okay so, I've been reading The One Within The Villainess and it was supposed to be a non-yuri read, but- but-

I've gathered a list

1) They call eachother "dear" and "my" and the combination of "my dear" all the fucking time

2) Just this statement. 🏳️‍🌈❓

3) The actual plot. Take revenge on everyone that has wronged her? Creat a safe world for her? MY EMI???

3.5) You are the strongest version of yourself because she loved you??? Ma'am do you know how gay you sound?

It's official, everything I read some how turns into yuri.

I think Thorne would be funny to put in Naruto bc he is, at his heart, just a guy. Just a silly little guy who has skill in like, management and selling things. And running a village, actually, which could be interesting in itself to squint at w Konoha.

But he's also like. A demon. A demon w little to no skill in battle who would probably die miserably in like all of 1 second if tossed at literally anyone in Naruto.

But also like, he runs a magic shop! What the fuck, that's cool.

I started daydreaming ab him being tossed into Naruto before we got the confirmation that he didn't really make (at least the main potions) he sold. But also like, canon is what I wish it to be, so it'd be cool if he did make some of those potions and trinkets, or at least had their recipies, so.

But also we could just toss him a bag of holding or smthn filled with some of his stock. But also it could be fun to just play w him trying to make his usual things and trinkets but like !!! Uh oh !!! The magic (chakra) here is totally wack !!! Now he has to find out how to adapt his potions recipies for the magic in the air, and they keep coming out weird / stronger / weaker than usual...

But ummm demon guy with -5 stats in fighting trying to scrape by undetected in Naruto world while operating a magic shop, while waiting for Remillia to hopefully come save him (which like, she would. Bc she's Remillia and literally not even god can stand in her way) (hes going to get fucking demolished the second any ninja so much as catches a wiff of him)

He ends up adopting Naruto bc ofc he does.

Demon connection!!!!

The kids in the demon village seem to love Thorne, and he has an advantage w Naruto too bc like. Baby Naruto being shunned by the village being adopted by an ACTUAL literal demon from the demon realm.

Would pay to see it tbh.

Thorne tries to free Kurama,,,,,

He sees people scared of the fox and is like "oh no...demon racism strikes again... this poor guy...."

And Kurama goes "yeah lmao, it was the racism. I pinkie promise I didn't flatten like half the village twice."

Actually tho. Thinking. Bc in TOWYV, demons dealt with the Frenzy curse, which'd make them go totally berserk and literally eat even their loved ones. So Thorne might actually have some context to legitimately empathize with Kurama ab being controlled by the sharingan to flatten Konoha that one time. It's a similar fear he shared with pretty much all of demon kind, not so long ago. (Even if Kurama cared less about the being made to kill people than loss of control)

No need to apologize! It's a panel from a Japanese villainess isekai manga called "The One Within the Villainess"

It's starts with a typical modern teen transmigrated into a villainess's body, but the OG villainess is actually still inside the body's subconscious watching everything through MC. But, the OG villainess learns to love MC's kind nature and starts to support her.

So when the heroine saint and the target routes exile the MC for crimes she didn't do, the OG villainess suddenly switched back and is hellbent on getting revenge on everyone, like a true villainess!

I really recommend this story and I'm not sure if the author is secretly Junji Ito but the art can be horrifyingly gorgeous at times, and I love it!

seriously, get you a woman who can do both.

Honestly loving how the series makes it clear that Remilia is still unhinged and manipulative, but that she's no longer a truly bad person because of the love that she was able to experience through Emi.

Something something, loving someone so much it changes the entire narrative.

The One Within the Villainess has some good drama, good monster designs that feel SO eldritch that it fits their status as higher beings perfectly...

and also the one time "I can fix her" actually works, though Remilia being in Emi's head for 10+ years probably had something to do with that.

So, 10/10. Amazing, dramatic, hooked so hard I feel like a newbie DBD player.

There's SO many reasons to read the one within the villainess but like. Among them tho. These v few pages of these 3 interacting are giving me endless life rn, I'm loving these guys as a dynamic even tho ik it's probably all we're ever gonna get of them in the same room together. Thorn wants OUT OF THERE !!!!

While being hilarious, this page is also incredibly sad because Remilia truly believes not even Angel is capable of loving not the "Emi" facade but her. She doesn't even love Angel herself (yet?), she's just engaged because she believes that's what Emi would want. She really believes no one loves her except for the only person who's basically deceased now. Remilia truly believes she's inherently evil and that's why nothing in world matters except for Emi, and that's the most tragic part of the story for now.

I'm really curious how it's gonna end because what if Emi never comes back? Will Remilia lose all the will to live?
