🍲 +🍠
🍲 When did you start writing and why?
Showing my age again but I wrote fanfics in the 90's. I had dozens of Sonic the Hedgehog OC's and there wasn't an internet so I just drew them and rotated them in my head. I think the first "sit down and write a story" fanfic was in a notebook, because again, no internet, it was Sailor Moon and I didn't get far. I also claimed I was going to write a book in Elementary school. I didn't. I wrote Pokémon fanfics and then decided it was all cringe and stopped for a long time and then got into a new fandom and wrote a fanfic. My longest unpublished fic is well over 100k words and I doubt I would post it if I finished it because at that point I'm so invested I couldn't deal with people telling me the characterizations are wrong.
I was always kind of a quiet kid who kept to myself. In kindergarten I played a game where I was a princess who crawled under the earth's crust and then tectonic shifts closed up the opening and I lived in a series of caverns that opened and closed as the earth shifted (Obviously someone tried to explain plate tectonics to me and I did not get it at all)
🍠 How long does it take you to write one of your fics or a chapter/part?
THIS. This is weird. I wrote like a dozen fics in six weeks, some of them in a single day. I was literally holding off posting them because they were coming so fast. And then it stopped. Burnout, family issues, the world being a miserable hellhole, a lot of reasons. It took over a month to write that last fic, and it was like that episode of Cardcaptor Sakura where they don't realize they're stuck in a time loop but Kero's game save kept being deleted right before the final boss. Every day I'd write some and think, "It's almost done. I should finish tomorrow." And the next day I would look at it and there would be at least a day's writing left. And scenes kept appearing, wouldn't it be more Gintama if the adorable glomp scene was ruined by a knee to the junk. Sensei isn't just going to let things go at that. I know a rural inn wouldn't have beds, it would have futons, but damn it after everything else you're going to deny me the "there was only one bed" trope.
So, I don't know. I tend to skip around and write chunks in lots of stories, especially if someone reminds me of one and I think, "Oh shit, I need to fix it up so I can show them." Does any of that answer the question?
Thank you so much for the ask! I can't believe all the enrichment people have been providing me in my enclosure lately! I've got a few more to get to.

they are very divorced but only in the sense of “we are never going to talk about how you keep leaving me”
almost ticked platonic but this is very complicated. i do think they gave each other tender 16yo sloppy in the joui trenches. i also think that gintoki thinks, in the present, that as a grown, self-respecting man, being nohomo bropalbesties with sakamoto is disgusting enough. and i also think that he would climb sakamoto like a tree if s. stayed on Earth for more than 5 minutes
i think if they went to therapy together it would trigger the apocalypse
ok maybe fraud wouldn’t enjoy them as much as he would ginzura HOWEVER i am somehow convinced that if gintoki ever had a gender crisis it would happen in a sakagin context. ok bye

Takasugiiii birthday. What will ginzura kids do for him
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Zura would probably make him something homemade as a gift, and then probably make his favorite meal for him as well.
Gintoki... Gintoki would find something to get as a gift. Maybe a dumb trinket he bought for cheap. Anyways, he doesn't hand it over to Takasugi, he just throws it at his head and calls it a day.

Help, I've written two zura-centric fics when i should've done my work. Like real life work.
This is all because I rewatched Benizakura two days ago. Zura made my brain rot.

So, I decided to write the Katsura side of Big Spoon, wrote like 8k words in one day, and then crashed.
A week later I had a discussion where I realized I was sleeping on Katsura's unhoused period. Like, the onigiri thing is probably food insecurity, right? That fucks you up as a kid. He must have been using his own resources to make food, even as a poor orphan, because he knew what it was like to starve and have no one care enough to feed you, and he does it without prompting because he's got his pride and it's humiliating as shit to beg for food so he wants people to have the food without having to ask. And of course Gintoki the corpse robber would pick up on that shit immediately and understand "hey, this kid's seen some shit."
and I wrote this sequence, and I didn't like it, and I crashed again and stopped writing. I think it's interesting, though, I don't know how unhoused people were treated in ye olde Japan so it's more based on modern outlooks and prejudices, but it encapsulates what I think about that period of his life. Vaguely Ginzura, but they're kids so it's nothing really. And canonly his classmates did complain he reeked of poverty.
One last thing animals seek warmth do you think he ever woke up with random strays curled on him on cold mornings. Do you think that's part of why he likes them so much FEEL SAD ABOUT BLORBO
Tumblr media
If you think about it his obsession with the umai sticks could also be food insecurity
One day Gintoki sat down next to him out of nowhere when he was resting by himself on a log far behind the school, just thinking.  It was a favorite pastime of his, and normally he would be annoyed with the company, but Gintoki was Gintoki and you couldn’t expect him to behave like other people.  The other boy just flopped down like he’d been specifically summoned and pulled out a parcel wrapped in bamboo leaves.  He untied the string around it to reveal two onigiri, offering one without comment.  Katsura looked down at it, and then back up at the boy.  “What is this?”
“Onigiri, with plums.  You like those, right?” he asked without making eye contact.  “I don’t like plums.  You eat this one.”  He shoved half of the other one in his mouth messily.  “Don’t worry, there’s nothing weird in them or anything.  We just got them from the lady next door.”  He shoved the onigiri roughly in the other boy’s direction.  Katsura looked at it again without taking it, and Gintoki sighed.  He looked down like he was trying to gather courage, or maybe just keep from losing his temper.  “You were homeless, right?  When you were young.  One of the other boys was laughing about it.  How was it?”
Katsura considered the question and the boy asking it.  He was no stranger to being ridiculed about his life situations, but somehow he felt like Gintoki was being sincere.  He knew enough about Gintoki’s past to understand that the silver haired boy’s life had been much worse than his own. It wasn’t something he was fond of talking about, but it was more out of a sense of privacy than shame.  It wasn’t something other people readily understood, they responded with disgust or sympathy and Katsura wanted neither of those things.  With Gintoki, however, he felt like there would be genuine understanding.  He stared straight ahead and explained like he was reciting an old tale: “I lived with my grandmother, out by the graveyard.  There was a bamboo grove nearby where people threw trash, and we stayed there most of the time. People didn’t care about it so no one made us leave.  For a while there were tatami mats thrown out by a local restaurant, and we slept on those.  I always associate the smell of sesame oil with the bamboo grove.  Other times we slept on the ground.” He stared down at his feet, and felt warm.  They were difficult times, but he hadn’t been unhappy.  He’d had his grandma, and they had visited his parents every day.  He’d had people he cared about to talk to.  “Sometimes there were other people or families, but if there got to be too many of us together the authorities would run everyone out.”  Gintoki nodded without comment.  “I didn’t mind living there, though, there was a river nearby that we could wash at.  It wasn’t so bad.  Not like it was with you.”
“The town burned the tatami mats because you were sleeping on them, didn’t they?  It was unhygienic, they probably said.”
“How did you-”  Katsura stopped.  Of course he knew, he’d lived the same way.  “Yes they did.  I had a few books I’d left behind and they burned those too.  You had to keep things with you if you wanted to keep them.  Books were so hard to get, too.”
“Where did you steal food from?”  Gintoki asked in the same bored voice.
“We never stole!”  Katsura replied, eyes wide.  “I would never!  It goes against bushido!  I could never!”  He was surprised that Gintoki would even suggest it.  Had he given the impression of having such loose morals?
“Whatever.  Bushido is bullshit when you’re hungry.”  Gintoki said with a frown.  “What did you eat?”
“We… we got food from some of the local houses, or sometimes from a nearby temple.”  Katsura explained.  “There was a monk who would give me buns if I recited scriptures.  Sometimes there were leftovers behind some of the restaurants.  Sometimes…”  he paused, remembering how shameful it was that they had fallen to such circumstances.  “Sometimes my grandmother would ask people for food.  She had always said that the head of the Katsura household shouldn’t be reduced to begging, but sometimes… she would.”
“Bet the restaurants dumped the food in the dirt to keep people out of them.”  Again, the other boy wasn’t wrong.  “What did you do when no one would help?”  Gintoki seemed even more angry, for some reason.
Katsura furrowed his brow.  It would be useless to deny that it happened, not with someone like Gintoki.  “We went to bed hungry sometimes.  It wasn’t uncommon.  Sometimes life is like that.”  Gintoki was silent, and he leaned forward.  “But there were a lot of good people.  Didn’t people give you food when you were homeless?”
“Hell no, people were assholes.  I was a demon, remember?  They’d throw stuff if they caught me hanging around.  I never asked anyway.  Why should I care?  They can live without a little.  I stole every day, and I’m as strong a samurai as you are now.”  he nudged the other boy.  “Did they throw things at you?”
“Not… very often.”  His hand went to a spot on the back of his head where there was a small ridge of scar that hair never quite grew back around.  He chose to see the good in people, but he would never forget that there was bad.
“But they did, right?  They called you names?  Ran you out like you were stinking up the place?”
“Sometimes, Gintoki, but most people were nice.  And when they weren’t… it was okay.”  Okay was perhaps a bit of a stretch, but he’d long since made peace with those days.
“It wasn’t okay, Zura, and you shouldn’t have starved.  You should have taken what you needed, and when people called you things, you should have called them things right back.  When people hurt you, you should hurt them back.  You shouldn’t have to have someone else get angry for you.”
“It’s not Zura, it’s Katsura, and that’s not how a general should behave. How I behave reflects on more than just me.”
“That’s stupid, and you’re stupid.”  Gintoki replied in a huff.  “That’s why you’re always getting picked on.  You should fight.”
Katsura looked down at his feet again, and this time he felt a little lost.  He didn’t need Gintoki’s support in the matter, but it was something that he would have liked to have had.  He felt strangely alone, knowing the other boy disagreed with him.  “We deal with things very differently, Gintoki,” he finally said.
There was a long pause.  “You need to take care of yourself, you won’t always have friends…"
"I've spent a lot of my life without friends, I don't need you to tell me I won't have them.  I'm okay on my own."  Katsura didn’t even try to keep the bitterness out of his voice.
"That's not what I meant," Gintoki protested, and he genuinely sounded a little hurt.  "I meant you need to stick up for yourself. I know you’re strong enough to do it.  I bet even Sensei would look the other way.”
“It’s not something I’m interested in doing.”
“Fine.  Look, getting bullied is one thing…”  Gintoki said, and then dropped his head back between his shoulders as if making a decision.  “But being hungry is something else.  If you’re hungry, come to me.  You don’t have to steal if you come to me.  I’ll get you food, I promise.  So don’t let yourself starve.”
Katsura turned, “why are you-”
“-It’s because you know what it’s like to be hungry.  That’s why you do the onigiri thing.  Because you know what it’s like to go to bed hungry and wake up hungry.  People tease you because they think you’re such a crybaby, but it’s because you’ve known what it’s like.  Those jerks think hunger is missing lunch, they’ve never chewed on scraps of leather just to have something in your mouth.  They don’t get when you’re trying to trick your stomach into thinking it’s eating because you know there’s no food today.  You don’t have to worry about what they say because you’ve been there and they haven’t.  That’s why you’re stronger than they are, Zura.  That’s why you should fight and not worry about being proper.  You’re better than them.”
"Sometimes I would chew on twigs, just to have the taste of something in my mouth."  Gintoki nodded encouragingly.  "But I don't let people bully me because I think they're stronger than me.  I know I'm stronger than them, that's why I should be the one who shows restraint."
"I still think it's stupid," Gintoki muttered, but then he smiled.  "But I guess if you're too stubborn to fight back, that's better than being too mopey to fight back.  You're weird as hell, but you're not weak."  He reached over and tucked a stray strand of hair behind the other boy's ear.  It seemed natural, but after a second Gintoki flushed slightly and slapped his shoulder.  "Your hair is stupid, too."  He crossed his arms, looking straight ahead.
There was a long silence, and then Katsura hesitantly reached for his hand.  “Before Sensei found you…”
“I don’t remember,”  Gintoki returned, looking away and picking his nose.
“You at least remember what it’s like to starve.”  Katsura pressed.
“-And someday I won’t.  I’ll forget everything bad that ever happened to me.  I probably won’t remember this conversation next week.  I definitely won’t remember the onigiri.  There’s nothing you can do about the past.  Someday we may not be friends anymore, and maybe I’ll forget all together that there ever was a mopey kid named Kotarou Zura.  But while we’re here, I won’t let them hurt you, and I won’t let you starve.  You're my friend.”
Katsura’s hands clenched on Gintoki’s hand on the trunk beside him.  “I’ll never forget you, Gintoki.  You’ll never be alone again, because you’ll always have me.  Even if we move on, and even if you forget me, I’ll always remember you.”
Gintokii chuckled.  “You stupid sap,” he said affectionately, smacking the back of his head.  “You’ll find someone else’s wife and you’ll have a dozen kids and do wherever the hell generals do.  You’ll be someone too important to worry about little demons.”
“Even then, I won’t forget, I promise.”  Gintoki just looked away, but in that moment, Katsura made a promise to himself.  As long as he was alive, there would be at least one person who believed that Gintoki Sakata was a good person.  One person who knew.
He heard yelling from over the hill.  “And that’s my cue to leave!”  Gintoki called lightly, slipping off the log.  “I’d get out of sight, just in case.  And eat the onigiri, they can’t pin anything on you once the evidence is gone!”
“Did… did you steal these?!” Katsura screamed in disbelief.
“Outta the way, Zura!”  Gintoki yelled, escaping in a flash.  Katsura blinked a few times in shock, then hid under a bush as the other kids rounded the hilltop.
“Gintoki went this way, right?”
“-He punched Ito out cold!  One blow!”
“Sensei is so gonna kill him!”
“It was like they were laughing like always, and then Ito said one thing about Katsura and he flipped!  I didn’t think they were even that good of friends!”
“Boys, boys!”  Sensei called.  “Fighting is bad, but gossiping doesn’t help!  Gintoki will receive the punishment owed to him, so why don’t you all just wait back at the dojo?”  Sensei stopped a little too close to the bush Katsura was hiding behind for it to be accidental.  “And we can all see this as a lesson, right?  The circumstances of Katsura’s birth are nothing to laugh at.  Neither, I think, are Gintoki’s.”  He led the group off in the other direction.
Katsura looked at the onigiri in his hands like it was a bloody knife.  In all his years, he’d never stolen anything.  If he’d found a wallet on the ground, it would never occur to him to check it for money before he turned it in to authorities.  It went against the fiber of his being.  Gintoki must have realized that… but it was a gift from Gintoki, and it wasn’t like he could give it back without admitting his complicity in things…
Corruption tasted surprisingly good.

Do you have HC about first takazura kiss
I DONT. but thinking about it now i think it has to has to be super young like maybe before gintoki young. so i can ramble about that instead bc i find kid romance sweet but uninteresting lol theres a million ways kids get into kid romances. which they are demonstrably in by the time they are welcomed into shoukason and gintoki butts in on it /affectionate.
theres a lot of complicated shady math in my head that gets me from takazura dont pay each other very special attention onscreen in canon but theyre both IN this psychosexual triangle -> their deal must be already so solidly established as to not be worth acknowledging. and their deal must be able to withstand benizakura sugi appearing not to care if his comrade tries to kill zura even if they have enough of a currently ongoing relationship to have little cryptic terrorist meetups and for zura to be invested enough to file the divorce papers at the end. which 'we're no longer friends and ill take the kid gloves off next time we see you' is still a goofy underreaction to now TWO attempted murders by ur former comrade lol.
so they have a strong relationship base to say. and kind of demonstrably different from takagin who have the almost the same length of knowing each other but all their stuff hinges on those teen moments thats their clearest point of connection everything else is just like. eh two guys who know each other and are forced to be around each other. and ginzura cracks me up here bc they develop very organically very linearly very devotedly. from the starting point of kid gintoki being like WHO ARE YOU. STOP CREEPING AROUND MY SCHOOL BEING WEIRD. zero interest lol. once again stuck together.
so where shoukason trio as we see them as kids are only juuuuust cautiously cagily starting to reach out to each other. kid takazura leg already have an established dynamic and routine for making excuses to keep being connected and they already link each other as a solid duo in their minds. thats fun thats a whole realm of possibilities of extrapolating their past AND their future from just that info. i think they have their disgustingly sweet kid romance going into shoukason and i think theyre the disgustingly sweet mostly-secret relationship of the amanto war that gintoki has to cover for and is extremely annoyed to have to cover for their loveydovey bullshit. back when takasugi could be normal sweet underneath just a normal level of kid brattiness u have to imagine he could be gentle to a zura full of zura thoughts

✰ someone i forgot to be (post season 6 oneshot) [1.6k]
“I wanted to tell hi— them how much I worried about them.” Shiro pauses, gaze wandering to some point in the distance. “But I had trouble admitting it to myself. And to them.”
“Why?”
“Let's just say that… although it shouldn't be an issue anymore, it is.” Shiro returns his attention to Lance. Staring straight into his eyes with staggering intensity.
or: Shiro helps Lance confront puzzling emotions with reassurance and stories of the past.
✰ and still we orbit (ongoing, post season 6 fix-it fic, chapter 1) [8.6k]
“The whole thing really makes a guy think. About, well, everything. Lance almost wishes he could go back in time and tell little Lance what he’d experience in the future. Tell him stories of their missions and battles, stories of the stars.”
or:
After years in space, the team is finally headed home, but not without plenty of obstacles along the way. Weapon tycoons and giant tarantulas, heated battles and cooking lessons, rekindled relationships and broken trust. Yet through it all, the paladins never stray far from each other's orbits.
✰ this, our town of halloween (long oneshot, halloween and bday fic for @angst-in-space ) [7.9k]
“Yeah, well, it’s written all over both of your faces,” Lance hisses. “It’s not a big deal.”
Pidge taps her chin. “Oh, you mean Keith, the local introvert and your ex-rival, creeping out of his cave to go to a huge Halloween celebration with you and your little niece and nephew? Of course that’s not a big deal. Silly me!”
Or: Lance invites Keith to Disneyland on Halloween and glimpses an entirely new side of the boy he has a stupidly massive crush on.
✰ am i scaring you tonight? (long oneshot, halloween gift exchange fic for @bleulily ) [9.1k]
“It wasn’t me.” Keith lowers his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “Lance, it wasn’t me.”
“What do you mean it wasn’t— oh. Oh my god. Wait.” Lance slaps a hand over his mouth. “It’s happening.”
Then, Keith feels it. A small gust of air brushes the shell of his ear. It trickles across the nape of his neck and down through the open collar of his shirt. He’s hit with another full-body shudder. Holy shit.
Or: Keith is roped into spending Halloween with ghosts, and Lance acquires a new good luck charm.
✰ please come home for christmas (oneshot, holiday gift exchange fic for @kci-ths ) [4.5k]
Feeling brave, Lance carefully turns his head. Keith glares at where his hands rest against his thighs. Lance tracks the motion of his fingers, twiddling with a piece of fuzz on his jacket sleeve, the edge of his phone screen.
Lance prompts, “When you got there?”
“You weren’t there.”
or: The Holidays are here, Keith struggles to surprise people, and Lance runs into the last person he ever expected to see at the airport.
gintoki/katsura
✰ “the way i said i love you” (series of brief oneshots) [~1k]
(16) over and over again until it’s nothing but senseless babble
catra/adora
✰ thankful for you (brief oneshot for thanksgiving) [1.3k]
What’s wrong with me? Adora squeezes her eyes shut.
“I'm thankful…” She manages between pants, “I'm thankful for—”
As if the thought alone summoned her, an unmistakable voice crackles through the air. “Hey, Adora.”
or: When Adora is asked what she’s thankful for, the answer surprises even her.

This meta was sent to me during a argument, and while disagreeing with this opinion, I couldn't line up my thought to why. I want to hear ur opinion on this since you're a Kyle fan like OP and has a lot of meta posts about him. thank u for reading this post and sorry for my bad english! https://curiouscat.live/ginzura/post/1191543937
First of all, no need to apologize for your English, and it’s perfectly legible regardless! I’m going to paste the OP’s exact words here because I don’t know exactly how CuriousCat works and I don’t want to original text to get deleted so no one can see what exactly I’m arguing against, so here it is below:
Ask: What do u think about those ppl who say  shipping kyman is bad bc you’re shipping a jew with a nazi 🧐
Answer: good question! if people really believe that then i can't blame them for not wanting to have anything to do with kyman, however my interpretation is different. buckle up cause this is gonna get kinda long though....
so first of all, cartman is without a doubt, a bigoted person. he's racist, he's classist, he's shown signs of being sexist too (though nowhere as bad as butters lol), etc. the thing is, his anti semitic remarks towards kyle for being a jewish person feel different than his other very backwards beliefs. i'll expand on this.
take for example the way he treats token, often alluding to the fact he's black, applying stereotypes to him and commenting stuff such as 'your people'. all this because token is black, nothing to do with token's personality or hobbies, it's just because token is a black person. when he shot token it wasn't because token did something to him, it was because token was a black person, and therefore, a threat to him, a white person. with this we can assume that the first thing cartman notes about token is his ethnicity above all else. he doesn't see him as a person but just part of a minority he looks down upon.
now let's address his relationship with kyle. he belittles kyle, calls him a 'goddamn jew', has threatened his life, etc. to the naked eye you would think it's exactly the same to what he does to token but that's where i disagree. he doesn't hate kyle for being jewish, he hates kyle for BEING kyle. is it cause kyle is smarter than him? maybe. is it cause kyle makes has things he doesn't have? maybe. but the point is that kyle's very existence annoys cartman so he has to put him down and the most obvious thing he could possibly remark about kyle is the fact that he's jewish because it's a low hanging fruit. but that's not the only thing cartman has had issue with concerning kyle. cartman tried to make people turn against gingers and emphasized that daywalkers were the worst type. who is a daywalker? kyle, of course. when he found out kyle was partly new jerseyite, he was against that too. he just tries to single out kyle as a menace as soon as he has an excuse for it. and that's why i don't actually think he's a nazi as much as he's a big fucking dick with an unhealthy obsession for kyle. i'm convinced that if kyle wasn't jewish, cartman would still find an excuse to get on his case
furthermore, and this is something that escapes fans a lot, cartman has pretty much stopped calling kyle 'jew' for quite some time now. the development started in s19 where he promised he wouldn't anymore after getting the shit beat out of him by pc principal. he still did in the ninjas episode, same season, but ever since that habit has died. so, in any case, i think cartman is mellowing out…
---
I’m not sure if this is the answer you’re looking for, but honestly, even as someone who really isn’t super fond of both-sided Kyman myself, I kind of agree with a lot of this take and I have for a while, though I don’t think it’s all because of Kyle either.
Cartman’s feelings towards Judaism seem extremely complicated to me, ranging from fetishizing the religion to outright hating it, and I think in large part this all does come down to his obsession with Kyle. Whether you believe the theory that Cartman is secretly in love with Kyle or not, it’s undeniable that he is obsessed with him and getting his attention. Maybe even having the envy of wanting to be like him in some aspects.
I’m not going to go into a deepdive into this because I’m not the most well versed about Cartman’s character as a whole, but I can go over how Cartman’s feelings towards Kyle and Judaism seem to work.
To start off, to say that his anti-semitism entirely comes down to how he feels about Kyle isn’t really true either. In early seasons, Cartman is already spouting out some pretty nasty stuff at Kyle about him being Jewish, and I would argue that this far back, he didn’t yet really hate Kyle or have any real obsession towards him. Not moreso than the other boys anyway- In fact, he even claims to hate Kenny the most, and there seems to be a genuine effort on his part to be liked by Stan and Kyle who tend to pick on him or show their outright hatred towards him- That’s not to say Cartman isn’t an asshole himself, but that seems like how he is towards everyone- He genuinely seems to crave their attention though, especially in episodes like Prehistoric Iceman. We’ve also seen that Liane seemed to have a pretty bad influence on Cartman at this time, teaching him some fairly bigoted shit. It feels likely to me that Liane probably had some if not full influence on Cartman’s opinion on Jews at this time, as she probably did with everything else he believes, leading to his general bigotry towards most minorities that he still holds today.
What I agree with OP about though is that if Kyle had not been Jewish, Cartman would not be so intent on his anti semitism. I still believe he would probably be in the same way he is racist towards black people like Tolkien, but I can’t see him being nearly as obsessed with it, nor do I think he would fetishize it as much as he sometimes does. Cartman’s hatred of Jewish people in large part is because of Kyle, not the other way around. Of course, this isn’t at all Kyle’s fault and is still extremely egregious on Cartman’s part, but I think it’s important in meta discussions of how Cartman thinks and feels towards Kyle.
One thing in OP’s post that does bother me however is the last part- Cartman “mellowing out”. I really don’t like the implications that Cartman’s antisemitism becoming more subtle is the equivalent to it being less, or even an improvement on Cartman’s behalf. Like, I do agree that he’s a child who has had a lot of bad influences and that he’s not beyond outgrowing his bigotry, but the show itself hasn’t really given us that just because Cartman doesn’t call Kyle “jew (derogatory)” anymore. We can’t get into his head obviously and see exactly what he thinks of Jewish people now but it’s pretty clear to me that he still holds a lot of antisemitic values and likes to torment Kyle in targeted ways because he’s Jewish.
Season 21 and the first episode of season 23 are pretty obvious signs of that. In S21Ep7, he straight up told Heidi conspiracy theories about Jewish people and basically convinced her that Kyle has been manipulating her simply because he’s Jewish, as well as even going as far as teaching her that Jewish people are always “trying to get ahead of everyone else”. This isn’t some micro aggression he accidentally dropped despite showing vast improvement most of the time, this is extreme Nazi rhetoric, and it’s just as dangerous and damaging as the shit he was saying before Season 19. In S23Ep1, Cartman uses ICE to have Kyle’s family separated and placed in detention facilities in an extremely targeted act of revenge. He knows what he’s doing, and it’s obvious. He’s not stupid, and I don’t know how anyone can fall for his very clearly fake act in the episode that he somehow suddenly forgot Kyle was Jewish and that this situation would be something Kyle would be extra sensitive to. I’m going to give the benefit of the doubt that OP just forgot about these episodes but this is NOT an improvement in his behavior. It’s just more subtle and manipulative on his part which is disturbing and dangerous in its own right.
And then to talk about Cartman in the recent specials, I think there’s a strong argument for his behavior towards Judaism just seeming really fetishistic and even disingenuous, so even if his hatred isn’t there he’s still pretty antisemitic.
So yeah, TL;DR, Cartman’s antisemitism seems to mostly revolve around his hatred/obsession with Kyle and he has not mellowed out in any positive ways since Season 19.

Tumblr media
I know Gintama has a lot lot moments and hints between almost ALL the characters, among all kinds of kink you may have: love-hate relationship, funny, rivals, comrades, SM or even love btw unemployed and bottom of the world men is shippable. All you have to do is pick the one that matches your fav
But the reason I ship GinZura, is because with them, and only with them, I can feel the vibe of FAMILY. Truly, I've never felt more HOME anywhere than where Gintoki and Zura be together, especially with Shinpachi and Kagura there too. Just look at this scene
JUST LOOK AT THAT DAMN SCENE! There is no one ever fit in that scene, as well as the Yorozuya family, better than Zura. He is soft. He is sweet. He is silent. He is sacrificing. And most of all, he is CARING. Sorry I'm not tryna femininize Zura, but he really has the caring of a mom
I've read/watched tons of fictional works. And I surely did ship a lot. My couples across fandoms contain ALL the kinds I mentioned, and I love all of it, and Gintama has all of it. But I don't ship any else in Gintama besides GinZura, bc I truly have never ever seen a HOME relationship like this before. And when I see it, it becomes unbeatable to me.
However when everyone from all other Gin x XXX couples say something like this char is Gin's ex, that char is Gin's current boyfriend, that girl is his masochist, that boy is his sadist, that guy is his lover,... I don't feel uncomfortable, because they don't collapse with me
To me, Zura is no lover nor boyfriend to Gintoki. He's just that wife silently sits behind the crowd and looks at his famous husband being shipped with everyone on the stage. And at the end of the day, they're home together. That's all
(Uhmm... if it's not all, then Gintoki maybe even complains how annoying the crowd is, and that he's tired like all other celebrities are. Then Zura will have to comfort him with a family dinner he soon has prepared)

gintoki!
Gintoki:
favorite thing about them
Oh this is another one that’s really hard to choose!! I like so many things about Gintoki but i think that my weirdly specific one would be the way that he makes video game/manga references? Like the weird extended analogies and how he’ll refer to people’s hit points and stuff. i don’t know i find it really fun
least favorite thing about them
This isn’t fair because he’s pretty much developed out of this but like. the way he was acting in the Umibouzu arc. Like everything about that is understandable given the circumstances!! It would be hard to argue that Gintoki was even in the wrong for trying to send kagura back with umibouzu. but. It rubbed me the wrong way and i hated it
favorite line
The one where he’s talking to catherine and very triumphantly declares that like ‘it’s only gonna get worse’. i can’t remember the quote but that’s my favorite‘
brOTP
Yorozuya!!! I love them it’s like my favorite Found Family i think maybe ever
OTP
Ginzura is my favorite pairing for gintoki!!!! I like takagin, sakagin and gintsu also, in that order of preference
nOTP
Shipping the yorozuya romantically is like. the worst to me.
random headcanon
This……. is hard……….. Um…. I think that when Gintoki was a kid like, before Shoyou was abducted by the naraku, that what he wanted to do when he was older was to help Shoyou teach at the Shouka Sonjuku
unpopular opinion
I don’t want to bang him
song i associate with them
Everytime We Touch……. because of regretorb’s amv…………..
favorite picture of them
Tumblr media
It has personal significance because i can send it to my friend whenever they say ‘hewwo’
