1/ Flat Party, St George's Tavern, 8 July 2023

I was seeing Tommy Lefroy, a duo I had just recently listened to, perform at Tufnell Park, and their opening act was Flat Party. I immediately liked their sound, and I noticed they didn't have a photographer. Flat Party mentioned they had a gig that Saturday, and after they performed, I was heading to the loo when I bumped into their lead singer. In an incredible act of courage that I wouldn't have normally had, I pitched myself and offered to photograph them that Saturday. After all, during that time I was on sick leave due to an injury from my full-time job and was expecting to be laid off soon because I was ill too often. The lads were all very nice and I thoroughly enjoyed their music as well as photographing them.

During this show, the group announced to the small crowd (about fifty people) that the singer Tim Staffell had left the band and that their new frontman is Freddie Mercury

TOUR!!

AAAAAHHH We are actually starting our next tour on Monday, how did it get here so so fast???? I am so excited to meet so many cool people and travel across the UK again, and to new cities I've never been too!! Like Edinburgh, Newcastle and Bristol!!! Where we get to end it with a massive Folk Punk Festival! If you want to come you should definitely get tickets and as they are selling out for some venues, and it would be so amazing to see y'all there!! Working with different musicians and meeting the people who have supported us and made all of this possible is honestly the best part of touring, and y'all make it so special and such a memorable time! We are so honoured for all the reblogs and reposts on Tumblr and people sharing our stuff, it means the world every time we see it as we get closer to making full time music a reality, you are all the loveliest kindest people and we appreciate everything you've done for us to make this all happen! I really can't wait to hit the road (on a 6 hour coach ride at 1am) to get all of this started!! We'll hopefully see you there!! Massive massive love for all of you!

kind of sad the tour is over despite being an utter wreck now !!

to everyone i met in the queue, even briefly, you were absolute joys to be around and i had so much fun with yall. even when freezing half to death. (or fully to death jfc glasgow).

to all my friends, especially, i love you! holy am i actually glad i showed up early for glasgow like it was so worth hanging out with everyone. also pub dinner and accidentally annoying every other person in the pub on sunday. let's do it again fr.

to everyone who gave me art or bracelets or had me sign birthday cards and signs and notebooks and i don't even remember, it was a miracle i could remember my name for some of them. i hope everything made it to kcrew in the end !!

(gig) highlights for real were:

getting the häärijä merch early -- especially with finding out my friends knew and weren't allowed to tell me.

häärijä crawling directly at my face in glasgow. horrifying yet insane.

glasgow also: häärijä coming down to front row and high fiving like everyone up to my friends just so he could hug me? help?

just häärijä in general? genuinely thee nicest man on the planet. i'm still not okay abt him asking if i was front row mid-gig in london. i hope he's feeling better 💛

just why did he keep getting at me in antwerp leave me alone babe lmao (i was the "this is your home" target as well, and i got talked to for not crouching for CCC2).
