please tell me other people have noticed that steve's leather jacket has significantly more rips than it did after talking to the red skull

the timeline of steve's jacket:

^ right before the rescue, slightly worn but fully intact jacket. he probably bought it while on the uso tour.

^ mid mission, the damage is beginning. his right shoulder is ripping through the seam. probably just from exertion and a slightly too small jacket or cutting the corners too close. keep in mind this is after he jumped out the plane and ran through the woods, right before he fought to get into the hydra base.

^ talking to the red skull. same status, same rip that could be widening

^ like 4 seconds before jumping to meet bucky. same status

^ the march into base camp. he has a slash across his chest where a leather strap was, even through the fucking metal zipper. his right shoulder is battered and the left is pretty exposed too. you can see through to his costume.

i wonder if his jacket got caught on the medal railing on the jump between the balconies of the exploding hydra building. i imagine that he probably was hanging from the jacket, stuck on the metal railing while trying to climb up and over.

seriously tho I wonder what happened, because bucky's shirt isn't any more torn after his jump. i guess we can blame it on steve being steve. anyways, i hope other people noticed this.

Thinking about Villain! Kenji Sato

Thanks to this edit for reminding me of him.

He's already cocky, conceded, and a natural charmer. Do you know how he would use that to his advantage to manipulate people? Just with a flash of his smile and sweet words that's how.

Bad temper + guy who's used to getting what he wants = Asshole with very little patients when things don't go his way.

Would work for KDF just to spite father. In other words, gives zero f*cks about Kaiju's or his dads feelings. He's still a little pissy about his father "choosing" literal monsters over him and his mother. He's probably very aggressive when it comes to fighting them as well. Dr. Onda had to remind him on more than one occasion to hold back.

Maybe in this version his mom was killed in a Kaiju attack which resulted in him not caring about the creatures AT ALL and truly despising their existence. He also hates himself for not being there sooner to save her.

This happened when he was 21 so he has worked for the KDF for a little while.

Full on arrogant prick with the worst anger issues but can hide it when he wants/needs to.

Mina exists but she doesn't really have a personality, nor does she question or boss him around she's just...an assistant bot. She's also used for more...hostile things so Kenji doesn't get HIS hands dirty.

Has probably done some questionable things to get to the top. Especially with his trusty bat friend when he wants to send a more personal message.

Probably insane to a severe degree. Also, a control freak.

Probably sees Dr. Onda as a mentor/father figure but you'll have to kill him before you get that information out of him

Dr. Onda does see Kenji as a son but like Kenji, you won't get that out of him willingly.

All villains deserve evil pets so this mf would definitely have a black pet snake. An IMG boa constrictor to be more specific.

Meet Lilith!

Probably the only thing he cares about is this snake. This is his daughter. His little girl. She's black just like his soul. Her nickname is Lily or Lil Lil. He'd probably use her full name to get her to constrict around someone.

This creature is evil, but she loves her father very much. Full credit to @jaidenk-nox for the ideas!

People in his father's generation remember Ultraman being a kind hero or at least someone who didn't see the Kaiju as monsters. The new Ultraman almost looks like he's on the verge of killing them.

Kenji see's the hate he gets and loves it. He loves the fact that he's ruining his father's legacy one Kaiju fight at a time.

The only good quality I think this man would have is his genuine respect for women because his mama raised him right. Not to mention she was the only person he had; he saw her struggles, heard her cry at night, and just see her try her best for him. Why wouldn't he have respect for women?

But that doesn't mean he wouldn't be controlling or probably obsessive if he did have an s/o.

I like to think some Kaiju parts (spikey parts, scales, claws, etc) would be added to his Ultraman suit over time (that probably gives him a more menacing look) to make him harder to beat/inure.

And do you wanna know what's sad? If we got this version of him there WOULD STILL BE SIMPS!!! (And I would be one of them).

I can just imagine the comments....

The Rings of Power ask game link. More questions welcome/encouraged, I'm still hyperfixating hard and it's still one of my only sources of joy 🥲

1. How did you find out about Rings of Power? What was the one thing that drew you into the show?

I knew about it while season 1 was in pre-production. Like since it was announced, while streaming services were still fighting over it. Only reason I didn't watch it sooner was everyone floating around the internet talking about how it was going to be "like LotR meets Game of Thrones." I did enjoy Game of Thrones, but......no. They're two very different types of fantasy and I couldn't stomach that idea.

LotR is one of my comfort-fandoms. I go back to it whenever I'm having a hard time. After rewatching the films at no specific point in time in November of this year, I just finally bit the bullet and started Rings of Power. I was a bit iffy through the first episode, but the end when Unnamed Dude came crashing down from the sky in a fiery crater next to the Harfoot settlement pulled me in and made me keep going. I was convinced from that moment that he had to be Gandalf (it was technically his first ever fireworks display for the halflings 🥲) and I refused to give it up until I was at least sure of THAT. I may or may not have yelled at the screen in protest when the Magical Bitch Trio implied that he was Sauron.

And then I just got into the story.

And then Elendil showed up and I oop—

2. Who is your favorite character and why?

I mean like...

All the characters are quite lovely, n-no one in particular, I—

Okay okay okay, just. Aragorn was one of my first ever fictional crushes and I may be reliving all of those feelings all over again. There's mentions throughout the books that Aragorn is similar to Elendil and Lloyd Owen has managed to completely nail it while still making the character his own, and I love him so much for it.

Baby Gandalf also holds a special place in my heart, though. He's so precious. I wanna pat him on the head and give him a cookie and reassure him that one day he'll be able to just pawn everything off on the hobbit of his choosing

14. Do you have a song you associate with a favorite character?

Not a particular character, but for some reason I've been heavily associating "Pride and Fear" by TheFatRat with Númenor and its eventual fall.

And maybe also their "Monody" with Galadriel and memories of her brother and their peaceful days in Valinor before the war, the memories and the grief that she can't let go of (I still hear you in the breeze/See your shadow in the trees/Holding on, memories never change). Both RIELL and Laura Brehm (respective vocalists for each song) have such lovely, haunting voices.

Though I'll always associate "The Wizard" by Black Sabbath with Gandalf. Since it's literally about Gandalf.

26. If you could ask the creative team behind ROP one question, what would it be?

"Hire me as a writer pls?? Pretty please? PLEASE—"

My only other question would be could we PLEASE have more elves with beautiful long hair? Maybe let Elrond grow out that little pompadour thing he's got going on before season 3? I do love bb Elrond but can we maybe give him just a touch more of that otherwordly Hugo Weaving vibe—
