I was reading something about Whitestown, Indiana and my eyes nearly popped out of my head thinking it was one of THOSE comically racist towns. Nice to know, at least the name, wasn’t that.

In 1963 John F. Kennedy wanted to get Jacqueline a very special gift for the upcoming Christmas holiday. While in New York, he shopped at a jeweler and was impressed with the Kunzite and Diamond Ring because it changed color depending upon the type of light striking it. After purchasing the ring, John F. Kennedy gave it to his secretary, Mrs. Evelyn Lincoln, to conceal until Christmas. After his assassination, Mrs. Lincoln, not knowing what to do with the ring, gave it to John F. Kennedy’s close friend and aide, Kenny O'Donnell. Mr. O'Donnell told Jacqueline of the ring, and asked her what she wanted to do. Jacqueline asked to see the ring and fell in love with it, not only because it was the last gift from her husband, but because of its astounding beauty.

 Jack helped design that ring. There were *twenty* diamonds surrouding the kunzite in the middle. The twenty were to represent their first ten years together and the next ten years that never came.
