Ayyy. Got some inspo from @pharmacykeys to do a lil Ghostyboy writing of my own! Something that has been in my head the past little bit. Comforting Stu who is having a little bit of doubt. This could be read as being set in the Two Boys Are Better Than One verse but context isn't needed, promise. Also just Stu is here but this IS a Poly!Ghostface thing! Let's get into it.

“Do you ever…Regret what happened back then?”

You freeze. Pausing cutting potatoes for dinner, knife still in your grip you turn your head to Stu sitting at the table in the breakfast nook, he was already looking at you.

“What do you mean?” You asked as you held eye contact with him. He looks like he is considering what to say next, not like he doesn’t know what he wants to say but more like he is almost worried about saying it. That almost worries you in turn, it wasn’t like Stu to hold back.

Typically he always spoke his mind with you but you knew you should just be a little patient while he found the words. Whatever this was must be weighing on him.

He finally says, “I mean with you working so hard to pull us all back together, staying with us both after everything. Do you ever regret it?”

You laugh, head thrown back, hand on your chest as you suck down a deep breath. “Oh my God, Stu.”

Turn back to your task and continue chopping, a shake of your head, “You are too much.”

He scoffs, “I’m tryna bring up something serious and you are laughing, real nice.” You knew that tone. Trying to joke but some clear hurt cutting through, “You at least gonna answer the question?”

He was serious which meant that this was serious.

You put down the knife and turn back to him, leaning against the counter, “No Stu, I don’t regret it. What would I have to regret, exactly?”

He averted his gaze, licked his lips nervously and gave a half hearted shrug, “I dunno, sometimes…Just wonder if you’d be happier with someone less fucked up that Billy and I, someone normal and not a pair of fucking murderers.”

You push off the counter and walk over to him, fingers still dirty with salt and starch tilt his chin up to look at you. “Stu. Darling. Sweetheart. Why would I ever want someone ‘normal’? Whatever the fuck that means.”

He still seems unconvinced if the look in his eyes was anything to go off of. You start to slide into his lap, arms draped around his neck as you settle on his thighs, you press a kiss to his cheek and say softly, “I love you. I love Billy. I love us. Okay? And I don’t regret anything for a second.”

His hands find your hips, a squeeze with his strong fingers and he asks, “You mean it?”

“Course I do! Like I'd lie to you. Besides, I dunno why you act like someone normal would want me. It’s like-” You cock your head to the side, “-you and me and Billy are a matched set. Breaking us up is like blasphemy.” You lean in and give him another quick peck, “Plussss, you keep forgetting the biggest reason.”

“And what’s that? Refresh my memory.” Stu was smiling again, it was clearly genuine and it had you smiling even wider yourself. “That I-''

Your hand came up, his eyes were immediately drawn to those scars running up your bare arm that you bore from that night way back when. The same scars you carved into your own flesh to play your part so well and sell the fact that the three of you ‘survived’ the ‘real killer’.

He loved looking at them, tracing them, kissing over them, even seeing them is a reminder of how ridiculous he was being. You dug into your own skin with that knife they’d gifted you with such fervour, cut and bled and sobbed, that was more than enough proof of your devotion and dedication. To how well you three fit together that you did whatever was needed, even something so extreme.

Everyone gets insecure on occasion and needs small things to help ground them once more and he is no exception to that, he was so grateful that you helped him during these rare bouts of self doubt.

You lightly booping the end of his nose pulls him out of those thoughts and you finish your thought by saying, “-am just as fucked up as you two.”

He laughed, “Ah shit, you're right! How could I ever forget?” and his arms wrapped tightly around you, burying his face in the crook of your neck, starting to cover you in kisses until you were the one laughing out, “Yeah Stu! How could you?!”

Hands on his face you kiss him. Dinner could wait a few more minutes.

Fucked up past or not who cares when you are this happy.
