Do not be surprised if, in our times, the voice of delusion is loud while the voice of truth seems quiet.
Remember, Abu Jahl loudly proclaimed his falsehoods near the Kaaba, while Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم quietly recited the Words of Allah in the house of al-Arqam.
And what was their fate?
The first was slain and discarded into the well at Badr.
The second ascended to the Highest Heavens, where he conversed with his Lord at Sidrat al Muntaha.

Leonardo Discovered Gravity a Century Before Newton, Study Says

Leonardo da Vinci was not only one of the world's greatest artists, but also a sculptor, an architect, a scientist and an inventor. Many of his practical and theoretical discoveries turned out to be well ahead of his time. Moreover, a new study shows that he may have been ahead of Isaac Newton in studying gravity.
Pencil sketches made by Leonardo in the early 1500s suggest that he discovered the idea of gravity long before English mathematician Isaac Newton, who is credited with the discovery of the phenomenon in the late 1600s.
Researchers at the California Institute of Technology have analyzed Leonardo's notebooks and found experiments devised by the Italian which demonstrate that gravity is a form of acceleration. What's more, it turns out that he modelled the gravitational constant with 97 percent accuracy.
"About 500 years ago, Leonardo tried to uncover the mystery of gravity and its conn of gravity and the ection to acceleration through a series of ingenious experiments guided only by his imagination and masterful experimental techniques," write the researchers.
The team believes that the only thing that prevented Leonardo's experiments from definitively explaining gravity was the limited tools at his disposal - he lacked the means to measure accurately when objects fall. The sketches show experiments demonstrating that gravity is a form of acceleration.
Morteza Gharib, Lead Author of the Leonardo Paper, first noticed Leonardo's experiments in the Codex Arundel, a collection of articles written by the artist that covered science, art and personal topics.
"What caught my eye was when he wrote 'Equatione di Moti' [equalization (equivalence) of motions] on the hypotenuse of one of his sketched triang les—the one that was an isosceles right triangle," says Gharib. "I became interested to see what Leonardo meant by that phrase."
The sketches show a pitcher of water moving in a straight line parallel to the ground, spouting water or sand. Leonardo's notes explain that when they spill out of the jug, the contents do not fall at a constant speed but accelerate.
He also wrote that the contents stop moving horizontally because the pitcher no longer affects it, and the acceleration is solely downwards because of gravity, according to the researchers. Leonardo tried to describe the acceleration seen in the sketches mathematically and was 97 percent right.
The study authored by researchers at the California Institute of Technology was published in the international journal on art, science and technology, Leonardo.

book review | I Was Their American Dream
Author: Malaka Gharib
Cover Design: Danielle Deschenes - sorry for the blurry cover art in this post :(
Genre: Graphic Novel, Memoir
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
One part Mari Andrew, one part Marjane Satrapi, I Was Their American Dream: A Graphic Memoir is a triumphant tale of self-discovery, a celebration of a family's rich heritage, and a love letter to American immigrant freedom. Malaka Gharib's illustrations come alive with teenage antics and earnest questions about identity and culture, while providing thoughtful insight into the lives of modern immigrants and the generation of millennial children they raised. Malaka's upbringing will look familiar to anyone who grew up in the pre-internet era, but her particular story is a heartfelt tribute to the American immigrants who have invested their future in the promise of the American dream. The daughter of parents with unfulfilled dreams themselves, Malaka navigates her childhood chasing her parents' ideals, learning to code-switch between her family's Filipino and Egyptian customs, adapting to white culture to fit in, crushing on skater boys, and trying to understand the tension between holding onto cultural values and trying to be an all-American kid. I Was Their American Dream is at once a journal of growing up and a reminder of the thousands of immigrants who come to America in search for a better life for themselves and their children.
A quick read that gave me a lot to think about! I love reading the stories of immigrants and first generation Americans because I see so much of my experience reflected in theirs. Gharib does a wonderful job of balancing her own experiences with commentary on how many people from foreign backgrounds struggle to navigate straddling two (or three) cultural identities in addition to American life. The illustrations are fun (sometimes visually overwhelming, but in a good way) and I liked how it was organized into different sections. I do wish the pacing had been a bit slower, some parts flew by, but I feel like that's the case for many memoir style graphic novels. Overall, a great addition to this genre and a great weekend read! Similar reads: Almost American Girl by Robin Ha and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi.

I Was Their American Dream - Graphic Memoir Review
Read this review of the graphic novel memoir "I Was Their American Dream", which follows the colorful life of Malaka Gharib.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rating: 3.5 out of 5. Sneha Jaiswal (X | Instagram | GoodReads) So I found out about “I Was Their American Dream” by Malaka Gharib after reading her second work “It Won’t Always Be Like This”. Both books are memoirs and if you have read neither, it’s probably better to read them in the order of their publication date. Born to an Egyptian father and a Filipino mother, Malaka Gharib is a…

"I tried to follow the righteous, but my steps came limping and heavy.
They hastened on their path, while I walked and stumbled, succeeded sometimes and failed other times…
O Allah, I am not as righteous as I should be, so help me. O Allah, if I stray from the path, bring me back, and if I am lost, guide me. Here I am, and You alone know me."

[ 📹 Thousands of civilians are forced out of their homes and jobs in Hamad Town, north of Khan Yunis, in central Gaza. Israeli occupation forces are directing Palestinian families to Deir al-Balah, where occupation airstrikes have been ongoing for 150 days.]

🇮🇱⚔️🇵🇸 🚀🏡💥🚑 🚨
150 DAYS OF NON-STOP CARNAGE: ISRAELI OCCUPATION FORCES CONTINUE TO GENOCIDE PALESTINIANS IN GAZA
On the 150th day of all-out War on the civilian population of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) committed a total of 13 new massacres of Palestinian families, resulting in the deaths of no less than 124 civilians, mostly women and children, and wounding another 210 others over the previous 24-hours.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health of the Gaza Strip added that there continues to be significant numbers of missing civilians buried under the rubble of their destroyed homes as IOF soldiers, armored vehicles and artillery shelling prevent ambulance and civil defense crews from reaching the sites of occupation bombings.
The Israeli occupation continues to target hungry civilians in Gaza as they attempt to find food.
In the latest crime against humanity, the Zionist occupation army opened gunfire on starving civilians waiting for flour at the Kuwaiti roundabout near Gaza City, killing at least one civilian and wounding ten others.
Similarly, the Israeli occupation repeated its crime when the IOF shelled a humanitarian aid truck on the coastal road opposite of Deir al-Balah, slaughtering another 11 Palestinian civilians.
Meanwhile, Zionist fighter jets bombed a civilian home filled with displaced Palestinian families in the Nuseirat Refugee Camp, in central Gaza, killing 12 and leaving a number of others missing under the rubble.
Occupation artillery forces also continue to shell the eastern neighborhoods of Deir al-Balah, while occupation air forces resumed its bombardment of the city of Rafah, in the south of Gaza.
In another atrocity, Zionist warplanes bombarded a civilian home belonging to the Al-Gharib family near the Al-Awda roundabout in central Rafah, killing three civilians, including a mother and her child.
At the same time, occupation aircraft bombed the Madi family home in the neighborhoods north of Rafah city, murdering seven Palestinians, including a pregnant woman and her unborn child.
Six more bodies were also pulled from the rubble of the Abu Anza family home after it was bombed yesterday by Israeli jets, bringing the total number of deaths in the atrocity to 20.
In another example of ethnic cleansing, the Israeli occupation army surrounded Hamad Town, northwest of Khan Yunis, in the south-central Gaza Strip, forcing thousands of residents out of their homes, arresting dozens of citizens, and opening fire on anyone trying to leave the city outside occupation routes.
Residents are being pushed out of the city and being told to walk themselves, their families and their belongings to Deir al-Balah, which the occupation regime calls a safe area, but where daily airstrikes and artillery shelling have repeatedly struck civilian targets, including civilian homes, in recent days.
Elsewhere, the Zionist air forces bombed the Al-Farra family home, west of the Jamil Wadi roundabout on the coast of the Al-Mawasi neighborhood, northwest of Khan Yunis, resulting in the deaths and wounding of multiple civilians.
Nothing is sacred to the Zionist army which last night bombed a new cemetery filled with mass graves on Al Hadad Street, in the Jabalia Camp, in the north of Gaza, spreading body parts across a large area and forcing local residents and civil defense crews to rebury their dead.
An occupation warplane also bombed the headquarters of the Engineers Syndicate in the Sheikh Zayed neighborhood in northern Gaza.
Similarly, Israeli artillery fire also bombarded the homes of civilians in the Al-Sabra, Al-Janobi and Al-Rimal neighborhoods of Gaza City, resulting in several casualties among civilians, including women and children.
Two homes were also destroyed when occupation fighter jets bombed two civilian residences in Beit Lahia, in the north of Gaza, wounding a number of people who were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital.
Additionally, a number of Palestinians were wounded after Israeli air forces bombed a civilian residence in the Bureij Refugee Camp, in central Gaza, while occupation air raids also targeted the Radwan family home in the Jabalia Camp, in the north of the enclave. Artillery shelling also targeted multiple areas in the Jabalia Camp, wounding several more civilians.
In the south of the Gaza Strip, Zionist warplanes and artillery shelling targeted several homes and areas in the city of Rafah.
According to reports from local medical sources, occupation aircraft bombed two civilian homes in Rafah, which led to the tragic deaths of at least 17 civilians.
Similarly, Zionist fighter jets fired multiple missiles into the Nuseirat Refugee Camp in central Gaza, killing two civilians and causing a multitude of additional casualties.
In another crime, an occupation airstrike on a civilian home in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, killed and wounded "scores of civilians" according to local reports.
Ambulance and civil defense crews also managed to retrieve the corpses of at least 11 civilians from different areas of Khan Yunis, in the south of the Palestinian enclave.
As a result of Israel's ongoing war of genocide against the Palestinian population of the Gaza Strip, the death toll has now risen to 30'534 civilians killed by the Zionist occupation army, with another 71'920 wounded in IOF strikes.
According to Gaza's Ministry of Health, more than 13'430 children have now been killed by the occupation army, while the IOF have also murdered 8'900 women, and killed 364 medical personnel.
The Zionist forces have also kidnapped an additional 269 paramedics, destroyed 155 medical facilities, knocked 32 hospitals out of service, and bombed or destroyed another 126 ambulances.
