For me personally, it'd have to be romantically inclined Clerith. I dunno, I just see these two more as friends than anything. And before we open THAT particular can of Shipping Disc Horse™ worms... Cloud has two hands, why not both? (Reason: I'm polyamorous myself)

💚: What does everyone else get wrong about your favorite character?

If I had a penny for every time I saw Genesis get horrifically mischaracterised I'd never have to worry financially ever again. But I've never liked that sometimes he's portrayed with some pretty horrible stereotypes, or that he's bitter and jealous and manipulative when he's actually none of those things, especially when Gackt himself has confirmed that he's a sweetheart. I feel that Crisis Core really did him a disservice, as much as I love the game, because we actually don't get that many insights into his past life throughout the game. Yes we do get glances here and there but I reckon this could have been done better. This man came up with a method for transporting Banora White apples as a child that was basically shoved under the rug and people have the gall to say he's not that smart. Good lawdy.

💙: Which character is not as hot as everyone else seems to think?

oh dear this is a bit of a toughie but I'm gonna go with Cid on the basis that he just didn't grab me as much as the rest of the main FFVII cast, and not to mention that he was initially a major asshole to Shera in the OG. And normally I like characters who are a little rough around the edges but Cid just doesn't do it for me, I'm sorry!

So tumblr has started putting this little banner at the top of posts from new accounts, and honestly I kinda dig it. I've seen a lot of people get absolutely eviscerated for doing something that was perfectly normal on their previous platform but a huge faux pas here, and I think this little banner will go a long way to mitigating that.

Hey just so you know I also put every color on its own layer, and use clipping masks for shading, etc. It sounds like we color with very similar techniques!

FFVII Theory: Jenova’s True Target

I’ll try to be brief: I think that, while Sephiroth was the main vessel for Jenova for the majority of FFVII lore, he very well might have been a (admittedly rather successful) bonus or a secondary objective. Her primary and initial target was, in fact, Vincent Valentine.

TL;DR: Jenova is a manipulator and her main target was always Vincent Valentine. But she was smart enough not to put all her eggs in one basket, so this fact never became obvious despite the many, MANY plots revolving around him. Sephiroth was little more than one of her more successful Vincent-adjacent backups. She was wise to target Vincent; In the end, he ended up being the one to foil many of her plans (perhaps once and for all).

Just a general PSA: OP turned off reblogs and set the post to private, so it can't be reblogged by anyone, but @phantomyre's response is still visible in the link.

I assumed the screenshots were just @/momori-tsuchiga crossposting to a tumblr alt or something, I didn't bother looking too deep until I was approached about it.

This is honestly kinda bonkers. These are pixel-perfect matches, which basically can't happen outside cutscenes. There has been some editing with regard to color balance and the like, but the screenshots themselves were not taken by the OP, and claiming otherwise when people can literally see that you're lying is so genuinely bizarre I don't even know what to say.

I'm one of those people who is fine with my own screenshots being used elsewhere (with credit) unless stated otherwise, particularly since it's not like I made the game, but it is pretty difficult to get shots this good in Rebirth's photo mode. To repost someone else's captures, claim they're your own, and include multiple notes telling others not to steal or repost them from you is pretty egregious!

Wrote to the reposter, maybe something will sink in a few years, maybe not. I'm an 30+ old fart, been around a while, I can say this, but basic internet etiquette is becoming less and less known and it's not only TikTok's fault. But using "everyone is doing it, so I'll do it too!" as an excuse for reposting is... too weak argument and says a lot about the person.

Previews of a couple of the simple templates being made for the graphics guide-in-progress. These are by far the most plain of the templates, made in G○○gle Sheets* so as to be fillable even without any special software. The concept here is that if you can spell, you can make an event graphic, then just screenshot the page and post it.

There are much more graphically complex templates in-progress for CSP (and PS), but those are more advanced and operate under the assumption that the event organizer has some graphic design experience under their belt. The simple batch, which has six template styles in multiple color variations (for a total of 20 templates altogether), uses only base typefaces native to the platform and primarily utilizes glyphs for flourish rather than embedding a lot of images, which can be hard to place and scale and format correctly for folks with no graphic experience whatsoever.

If anyone wants access to these templates prior to the release of the guide (as it's a very complex work so it's not likely to be out until summer proper) drop me an ask here or on my main blog @getvalentined and I'll give you a link!

*I thought about using G○○gle Slides since there's more image editing options there, but I found spacing much harder to control, and the fixed aspect ratio was also a limitation I couldn't accept and don't want anyone else locked into either. Likewise, I didn't do anything in Canѵa or other online image editors because they're not as user friendly as "fill in and screenshot."
