Activities for Regressors Without Caregivers! (or just fun regression activties!)

(Although you're always welcome here if you'd like any form of comfort anyway! ^w^)

This one's kind of a long one, after the few tips I list, I've mentioned an app I use called Finch, which will be talked about below the cut.

Since that's the case, I'll put my little ending message here instead:

Knowing how to take care of yourself can take a lot of work and practice, but I believe it's worth the effort, because then you'll be a happier and healthier you! Especially if you can find ways to make it fun!

I'm more than happy to be here for you and offer my support in any way I can, anyhow! I'm proud of you for doing what you can, I know it can be very hard.

I myself don't have a caregiver for when I regress, so most of the time I end up taking care of myself! Here are some fun activities and things I do when I regress to keep myself calm and happy! ^w^

♥ Arts and crafts! I absolutely LOVE coloring and making bracelets with beads, something not too complicated for little hands, but also something fun!

With coloring, you can buy coloring books, or draw something of your own to color in- even printing out a page you find online, coloring digitally, or tracing over something to color in could work! I prefer coloring more than drawing personally because I don't draw all the time, but I bet I could learn a little thing or two from the artists around here!

For bracelets (and other jewelry), strings can be hard to knot with little hands (at least they aren't those small, slippery clasps!!), but the beads shouldn't be too hard to handle if you're careful! Even just planning out patterns is fun!

♥ Making playlists! Dancing is fun, and a good way to get the zoomies out, but you can just make playlists for any occasion! I have playlists that help me pet-regress, songs with sounds I like, adventure playlists... (Well- a lot of these are still in progress, but- you get the point!)

I also love those playlist videos on YouTube! Animal Crossing, Super Mario Galaxy, Minecraft and music box music are typically my go-to to help me settle or just make for comfy background music! Here's one of my favorites, shadowatnoon has lovely Nintendo music mixes!

♥ Playing with your plushies! You can take them on adventures, or make your own!

People make really cool stimboards and moodboards, for example, and I like reading through all the fun stories people write!

Finch is a self-care app where you take care of your very own little bird friend by taking care of yourself!

You can set daily goals, or for each day (or more specific ones as well I think.). By completing these goals, you give your bird energy to go on adventures! They usually come back with a funny little story or silly questions, because they're learning, too!

Through completing these goals (or daily, at least), you can get Rainbow Stones, which you can use to buy clothes for your bird, make them different colors, or give them furniture for their house!

In addition to Yor's epiphany scene, this scene was the other one I was most looking forward to in season 2 - a scene that, in my opinion, is one of the most Twiyor-ish scenes in the series so far 💖

Why is it so significant? Because there was no reason for Twilight to put on any Loid Forger acting in that moment. He wasn't conversing with nor being scrutinized by anyone. So why would he give that soft smile followed by such affectionate, comforting words as "お疲れ様/otsukaresama"? (this can be translated in many ways, but generally it's something you say to thank someone for their hard work).

The answer is because it's something he truly felt...he understood the sacrifice Yor made for Anya's happiness and genuinely appreciated it (if only he knew the sacrifice she made on the larger scale, lol). While he's a bit perturbed at first since some onlookers were snickering at him, it didn't take long for him to soften and then graciously carry his queen and princess the girls back to the ship 😭

But Twilight overall was really soft in this episode and I loved it~ From his blush upon seeing Yor to the several times he gave that same soft smile when talking with/looking at her...I think Anya was right when she called him out on the ship about missing his wife 😅

I liked how the anime conveyed his shock when noticing her bruised face...what must have been his thought at that moment? 👀

The scenes of the family activities translated better in animated form in my opinion. While they were each only a single panel in the manga, they lasted a few seconds each in the anime, plus the addition of the insert song helped the with the comfy, wholesome vibe~ Also the part where Yor inadvertently chucks Anya across the ocean is still hilarious.

Loid's dorky skip at the beginning of the episode translated very well in animated form too 😅

The ending of this chapter in the manga always felt a bit rushed to me...it quickly jumps from the aforementioned scene of them returning to the ship, to suddenly being home, reuniting with Bond and Franky, having a meal together, then Twilight meeting Sylvia, all within a few panels. Even though I wish the anime added more than just some additional scenes of the ship leaving the island, I felt it flowed much better in the anime since, just like the family activities, each scene in the ending lasted a second or two instead of being a single illustration.

But I love how this chapter/episode ends, with Yor, Anya, and Bond napping while Anya draws about her family vacation. This seems to take place the next day or maybe later the same day they got home, so makes sense they'd still be tired from the trip!

By the way, the manga has this additional scene showing that Olka and company are safe. Weird that the anime didn't stick it in at some point.

Also, the anime team didn't have to go so hard with this episode's key visual but they did...and I love it 😍 Might actually be my favorite of the key visuals so far!

I was very happy to see the "surrounded by liars" panel finally animated! This is such a funny scene and a great way to fully wrap up the cruise arc.

I also burst out laughing at Yuri's locker 🤣

Damian is surprisingly laid back in this episode. I think the reason is because Anya's antics aren't directly involving him. He tends to go total tsundere only when she's actually talking to him, lol.

The new scene of Yor getting the keychains for her coworkers was a nice addition! Guess it's canon that Yor and Anya didn't sleep for the entire trip back, lol. Glad they got to spend family time on the ship too! (though I wish we could have seen Yor's reaction waking up in Loid's bottom bunk bed, haha. He must have brought her to his room since he wouldn't know where her room is. Unless she woke up before he even put her in a bed, in which case she would have been super embarrassed knowing he was carrying her around in public 😆)

Looks like next week the anime will be changing the order of things a bit and giving us the Becky home-wrecking and Fiona chapters (the latter of which seems to have some anime original content?) The Becky chapter is one of my favorite stand-alone chapters...I'm already dying of laugher thinking about it 😂

Caliburn is amnesiac, he remembers almost nothing about his life before the age of 14 and that includes his biological family. Even so, he doesn't seem to actively try to seek answers, preferring to move on.

We are ALIVEEEEE AND BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER ((FR THIS TIME!!!).

Before we get into actual updates, I wanted to give context on where my life's been at basically the past year. As many of you know, I got my PhD last December (YEAAAA) which meant for the second half of 2024, I was literally in a cave crunching my dissertation. Now, many people (including me) thought after I finished my dissertation, I'd be a lot freer for Alaris stuff. But since this year started, I've been completely preoccupied with some personal matters which kept me from working on Alaris as much as I wanted to.

While the personal matters aren't anything anyone has to be worried about, they did take up A Lot of my time, and I'm really happy to say that I am officially free from those obligations too!!! Meaning for the first time in literally a year, I am NOT drowning. And that time has already been used Very Fruitfully heh....heh....heh.....

WANNA SEE???

Writing has been on a bit of a stall, and the main reason why is something I'll talk about in the Miscellaneous section! But it's nothing to worry about since it's because I want to focus on other parts of the game right now. With almost all of the routes finished, I've noticed that the writing pace I've maintained has resulted in the art and programming aspects to fall a bit behind where I want those parts of game dev to be.

So recently, I've focused more attention on the art and programming components rather than writing. That being said, writing still makes slow but steady progress! Kuna'a's development edits continue to progress, and Etza's route is about to be sent to line editing, which is the last stage of editing for my writing process. This means once Etza's line edits are finished, the four Central routes will be COMPLETELY FINISHED!! Exciting right!!!!

For art, I can't actually show very many sneak peeks since it's mostly been CGs and character design commissions heh. But I am willing to give a slight sneak peeks of these character designs in these two beta screenshots

While these sneak peeks don't represent the final character sprites, they are the OG designs created by bestie Saf. And even from the designs alone, the characters are stunning additions to the cast! I can't wait to draw them in my own style and hopefully do Saf's amazing work justice 💖💖💖 In these screenshots too, you can see some of the newer BGs and hints of overlays that we've added to the game to heighten the visual effects hehe.

I've also been working on CGs for Etza's route and am happy to say our CG count is currently at 26 completed CGs (5 sketched ones) out of 54! Now that I'm making an active effort to Lock in on the art assets, I'm hoping CG and sprite development picks up a bit in the coming months ^^

And finally... for the most exciting news!!!!!

ETZA'S BETA WILL BE OUT MONDAY!!!!

We have finally moved forward on the beta build front, and beta testers will finally get to play Etza's beta! Since I haven't shown much in-game screenshots from the betas in past devlogs, and you all patiently still read them, I thought this month would be a nice time to update you all on how things are looking in Alaris beta land.

In this beta, you obviously get to woo our neighborhood angel

Since it's been a while, this is a reminder of what the game looks like (LMFLSOA). I know for me it's been a while and honestly I forgot how proud I am of the art assets :') I love how everything has come together and how it looks in the game <3

Of course, Important Choices and fun cast dynamics are a few of our Favorite Things

Between the messaging interface, the chapter card, the phone call overlays, and many more little effects and stuff, I forgot how many assets are in this thing. Being able to code Etza's beta has been an amazing reminder of how much work I've put into Alaris over the years ^^

Which brings me to exciting news!!!! I will make the official announcement separately at a later time, but as a reward for people who actually read these things, you're the first to know. With Etza's beta coming out soon, that means the four Central routes will have finished beta testing. And with where things are at, I've made the official decision that...

Alaris will enter Early Access for the First Four Routes!!!

I don't have an exact date for when this will release since it largely depends on how quickly I can art. But I'd like to aim for a tentative Q3 release for the Early Access Build! More details will come when I make the official announcement, but it is extremely exciting to have reached a point where I can even put this out there to people!!!

I hope you all are excited, and I want to thank everyone who has been on this journey with me whether it's as a recent or long time fan!!

Finally, I haven't really had time for market research since I've been in the "Returning the Game Dev" trenches. But I do have other exciting news that I'll make yet another official announcement on later.

Aside from the new Alaris beta, I've also had another small side project I've been working on with some friends (very chill-like) over the past couple of months. It'll be the first Crescence Dark Fantasy entry in my collection of games, and it's definitely a different vibe from what I've put out so far.

Where They Wait will be a new game submitted to Ossan Jam with elements of horror, fantasy, and dark romance :3c I'm so grateful to the team I've worked with and all the work they've put into our little shared baby, and I can't wait for you all to play it! This will also be coming out WELL, Monday too LMAFLIDJLIFJ.

As you can see, we've been hard at work behind the curtain. Since I last talked to you all, we've made a lot of nice headway on the different projects I've had on my plate, and I'm excited to feel like we're hitting our stride on so many things!!!!

Prompted by your post about dnp inviting audience interaction: it /is/ really brave, and so interesting! I haven't been watching them for long at all and one of the biggest things that just drew me in and deeply fascinated me about them is how so much of their work (not just on stage) is in some way a conversation/interaction with their audience and the more you watch the more you notice it. No wonder its easy to be parasocial about them and about the Phandom itself!

To me, at least, they seem to be the sort of performers/creators that need a relatively high level of audience interaction in order to be inspired or for their work to feel meaningful. Like, im absolutely sure they could also create things without this close relationship with their audience but it seems to be what their naturally drawn towards? Obviously the problem has been in maintaining boundaries within that but it seems like that's going better now than at some points in the past, which makes me really happy for everyone!

when they film pinof1 together, what are they doing? they're answering an audience-submitted q&a. the audience interaction is literally baked into their foundation! <3

2010, dan's uni dorm. what's displayed behind him on his wall? art and letters sent to him by viewers. he films danmail vids where he opens and reacts to said art and letters and personally thanks the senders.

for years and years and years, what's at the end of every phil video? fanart! draw phil naked! (in retrospect literally so weird lol but shhh)

the ongoing avalanche of vyous and younows and tumblr reblogs/follows and responding to yt comments and retweets and and and. so much interaction. the videos directly engaging with twitter and tumblr creations. they see us, they know us, they get us.

their first book? included a double-page spread with dozens of pieces of phanart.

every single one of their tours has multiple essential audience interaction components, and even more brilliantly, with multiple different access points that are perfectly calibrated to their audience. too shy to speak up? send in a submission ahead of time. want to be a part of the masses? shout something out during the audience participation segments! and there's always the likelihood that they'll include fanart in the show itself, casually mention an actual actively popular fic, throw in an ancient phwedding manip, or just build whole segments of the show around our tropes and the world that we created with them. all of that keeps things exciting and engaging on stage, bc you never know exactly what's going to come next. but it also keeps their audience feeling seen, valued, and like co-creators in a way.

When you look at the other britcrew and big yters from the 2010s, they simply weren't generating that ongoing, authentic conversation with their audiences. their approach followed the simple format of: i post, you watch. and then it became: i post, you watch, then i try and sell you something while i call you my 'community' because you are all watching me and sometimes you talk to one another in the comments. but it's not like zalfie or joe and casper etc. were chiming in on the convos too, or at least not in any meaningful way. it wasn't a community in the same way.

dan and phil truly built community. i think communities require mutual exchange, communication, a sense of value and worth, commonly agreed upon truths, shared experiences, touchstones of connection, and leaders who have integrity. i know this is all starting to sound a little lofty, but i really do think dan and phil are good humans who have worked hard to wield their power and influence responsibly and compassionately. they set the tone for us, constructed this world, paid attention to what landed for us, how we responded to things, everything that we were up to in response to what they were up to. they listened. they made us feel seen and celebrated and appreciated, and in turn we continued to celebrate them. they created weird inside jokes, we adopted them, then we all shared the weird inside jokes. they existed, we created our own language and lore and encyclopedia in response, and now there's a whole stage show about it.

that's how you get people sticking around for 15 years. that's how you get people to actually want to spend money on you. and yeah, some more boundaries at times couldn't have hurt. they fostered a sense of proximity and entitlement that obviously put them in harm's way. but i'd say ultimately what they've manage to do has been a net good for them and a tremendous success.

you raised such a good point that it seems to be what they are naturally drawn towards. i think it's because they, too, were fangirls. phil was writing buffy fic. dan was running a lost wiki. they both understood the power of online fan community before they were the titans of their own. they get it, they get us <3

TPOT ANIMATORS ART STYLES 

I'm way too scared to put this on main, but I love analyzing this kind of thing, from any show. Seeing shows let the animators put their own style to things and actually catching it makes me so so so happy. I know that this isn’t going to be all of the animators, some are way more subtle than others and some of what I say just might be wrong I don't know! 

Cary Huang: I feel like with cary his style shines through a lot, even if it’s the object characters. One of the things you’re going to learn is that mouths are the main thing to point out any animators style, there could be other things like eyes or style of movement. But for the most part a mouth shows a style more than anything. With cary his mouths have an over line top lip. He also does not shy away from big expressions. molding the asset to fit the face and giving the object characters fingers a lot of the time,

Micheal Huang: Another style that is a very well known one in the community. The mouths are a very big indicator, but it’s more specifically the moldable teeth he gives characters, very much loves to show the depth through the teeth. Another thing is how he animates a character's movement, makes them very active and manipulates the assets a lot to get a smooth motion across.

Tophatthehat: honestly one of my favorite artists in the osc. The mouths again! This time they are way more squared, giving characters 2 teeth lines when their mouths are closed, and for heavy expressions the teeth are bumpy and loose which I love so much. But he also has a unique way of styling arms and legs when bent! Making them squared off with longer feet. also Thin long lines for the eyes. He also has a unique way of drawing two, eyes are a bit smaller and lower on their head.

XanyLeaves (Niall Burns): also a very known animator for people to spot throughout different object shows. Now if i'm being honest I think it is a little harder identifying Xany’s style specifically in tpot than when it is objects. My mouth rule doesn’t exactly always work here and the bigger indicator for me is how he draws two, bigger eyes that are higher on their head, and usually draws two’s hands like webbed frog feet lol. But even then I might just be confusing a lot of it with Allens work, which looks and moves fairly similar sometimes. But I think the main thing that always shines through even if not how he draws, is how he animates. Coiny [here] is a great example, lots of snappy expressions with smooth movements and big arcs.

Allenimations (Allen Lee): while in the previous tweet i compared allen and xany’s work, i still do think looking closer there are big differences. Again using Two as an example, they have smaller eyes but more up on their head, it’s a harder thing to describe other than me being like “it just FEELS like this animator”. [EXAMPLES HERE]

YellowAngiru: a bit of a harder one for me to catch but when you look it’s there. His linework is smoother on the algebralians, not many moments of loose lines commonly seen on them, especially four. Gives two big o’ eyes with oval irises.

I'm stopping here to not make this thread feel repetitive, but there’s always more that I love to spot: KaLegend, Derpadon, DanDaMiniFig and more! There’s also a lot that I always catch but could never put a name to the style, so if anyone else has any more examples PLEASE tell me! you don’t understand how much i love this kinda thing. And I didn't even mention things like background work or prop work or even storyboard work from different shows from so many different talented artists in this community. MAN I could even go on about different human designs people create in the fandom, but THAT would be pushing it. I just love art, I think idk.

He's the type to do activities with you without questioning them.

"Okay, now that's a coffee cup." You giggle. "Look at mine." You say, showing him your cup.

He smiles, looking at how happy you look with your work. "Está guapa eh!" He smiles. "I'm painting mine blue and red, like the club."

You try to decide what color you should paint your cup. You wanted something cute, maybe some pastels.

"Try some light green." He suggests. "Or some white and some flowers."

You nod, doing the flowers one. You grab a white coat of paint, making sure to create an even canvas for your painting.

You two work on your own pieces. Laughing at how concentrated and cute your faces made. Pedri showed you his work, explaining the drawing he did.

"Muy guapa," He says, looking at your cup. "Mine has a small dog, like nilo."

You smile at how much you love doing these activities. You love that he takes the free time he has to spend it with you.

He's the type to let you ramble about your day. If it's bad, he let you talk your anger out. If it's good, he celebrates with you.

"Una putada!" You say, frowning. "He fucked up and decided to throw me under the bus by saying it was me."

He passed the salt to you. Letting you talk about your day, letting you get your frustration out.

"I had to stay two extra hours." You move the pasta you were cooking. "And they told me that I need to go to work this weekend."

You slam the kitchen rag on the counter. Frustrated. He grabs two plates, serving the pasta on them.

"Want some cheese?" He asks.

"Si," you say. "A lot." You pout.

He nods, adding extra extra cheese to your plate. He brings the plates to the table, watching you serve the drinks.

"And my bubblegum fell on the ground today." You pout, handing him his drink.

You frown for a little, staying quiet. He's smiling, trying not to chuckle at how you look. Looking at your food with your serious face.

You sigh, relaxing a little now that you told him about your day. You stop the frown on your head, sipping your drink.

"How was your day?" You ask him, now smiling.

He smiles back, grabbing your hand and kissing it. "It was good. Today, I scored the winning goal of my team."

We all know his parents and Fer live with him, so I think he's the type to crash your place. Like on a random Thursday, you would get back home and find him watching a cartoon.

You open the door, watching the video your friend sent you. You leave your bag on the couch. Taking your shoes off and walking to your room.

You noticed the sound of the TV. Thinking that maybe you didn't turn it off. You hit yourself mentally.

You open the door, finding a very concentrated Pedri. He's eating some pistachios, enjoying some Sponge Bob.

"Hola, pepi." You smile happily. You move closer to him, kissing his lips. "What are you watching."

He moves to the side, so you fit on the bed with him. You join him, hugging his side. "I'm watching Sponge Bob." He says happily, kissing your hair.

He offers you some of his snack and drink. You accepted happy. You love watching cartoons and better if you have him by your side.

He's the type to add his touch to your place. Even if it's a room on your parents' house, a room on a shared house with roomies, your own place. He would add his touch.

"Pedri, this is too much." You say, rolling your eyes at him. "You just got me a new TV. The gifts need to stop."

Pedri stands with his hands on his waist, smiling at his new purchase. A new ps5 with a cover on your favorite color.

"It's your favorite color." He says. "And the controller is the same color." He points at it.

You shake your head, smiling at how cute he looks. "Amor, thank you for the thought of picking the PS5 with a cover of my favorite color." You say, hugging him. "Thank you for the new TV, for the drinks you got me, for the snacks and everything else you got me."

"You don't have to thank me." He smiles, hugging me harder. "I'm going to teach you how to play, I even got you your own fifa."

You frown, still smiling. "Amor, I can't play fifa."

"That's why I have my own controller." He points you at the boxes. "I'm teaching you how to play."

You feel his happiness and instantly feel really happy. He was doing this as a way to spend time with you and to let you into his favorite things to do.

When you do your makeup, he will try to ask you what for is everything you use, even if it's only mascara and blush. He would ask.

"And why do you wet the strawberry?" He asks.

You laugh, taking the water excess out of your strawberry shaped sponge. "It's because if you wet your sponge, it gives the skin a more natural finish."

He nods, paying attention to your movements. You grab your concealer, applying some to your undereyes.

"I know what that's for." He smiles.

He looks at you with puppy eyes. You tell him about different things.

"Why are you leaving that white powder?" He asks, confused.

You chuckle. "This is called baking. It's a makeup technique." You smile. "I like how it makes my makeup look."

"And this other powder?" He points at the compact.

"It's bronzer. It's used to contour the frame of the face." You say, showing him how you do it. "I apply it on my nose to mark it."

He can't help his smiles.

"Can I help you with your blush?" He asks.

You nod, passing him the brush. "You can pick the shade." You show him the options. "I have rare beauty, I have fenty, I have some bissu." You place the blushes in front of him.

"I like this shade." He grabs the blush. "Can I use this?"

You nod. "Si, dale."

You love how he's so careful and caring. Kissing your nose when he's done. He grabs your hips, making you turn back to the mirror.

"Do you feel bonita?" He asks. Remembering the tik tok sound. You nod, smiling at him. "Wonderful because you look bonita." He hugs you.

He's the type to watch you do your skincare routine. He would stare at you in awe.

You apply your cream, feeling a lot better now that your skin is clean and your fresh. You feel more relaxed.

You turn back to the room. Finding Pedri's eyes focused on you. "You okay, pepi?" You ask him.

He nods, giving you a half smile. His eyes never leave yours. You smile back at him, turning back to the mirror to keep applying your next step.

You grab your last step. From time to time, you look over the mirror to where he is. You notice that his eyes are still focused on you.

You place everything back in order. Taking a last look in the mirror and walking out of the bathroom.

You walk over to where he is. Grabbing his cheeks and kissing his lips and forehead. "Night Night, pepi." You smile.

"Night Night, preciosa."

A/N: Alright since y'all loved this post so much I had to do something with it, and given that it's Valentine's Day and I am, as usual, chronically single, I figured I would share the delulu with our sweet little nerd. It's short, I know. But my chest is hurting and I am thinking of going to the ER later lol (I also recommend listening to Owl City's "The Bird and The Worm" it's a cute song!)

You had been in a very good mood, today, Khonshu had noticed. Humming to yourself, giggling a bit louder than usual at something on your phone. He watched as you practically bounced around your flat.

"I take it something has happened, little bird?" Khonshu hummed, a humored scoff coming from his chest. You continued to buzz around, even reaching for your seldomly-used makeup kit you only used for special work parties or for fun--and the latter was rare.

He leaned against the wall, to remain out of your way, amusement tickling something deep within him. Indeed, you were like a busy little bee, buzzing around her hive.

"Oh!" You finally chirp out a response, beaming happily up at him. "I... Um... Well, I um, got a date!"

That surprised him.

You were a wallflower; a shy, little thing that had beautiful and bright colors that stood out; especially amongst his dwindling followers. Not keen on being the center of attention, you preferred to dance on the coattails of most social situations.

And you had never been out on a date before, let alone asked out by anyone.

"And who is your date?" Khonshu asked, tipping his head to the side as you began to apply your facial primer. Makeup trends definitely changed from how they used to do them back in his day...

"Oh, he's so sweet! Some guy knocked into me while I was out today; knocked my smoothie all over the floor and didn't even apologize." You huff, recalling that rude dude, "Then he showed up and snapped at him! He even paid for me to get a new one, even though I said he didn't have to..."

You remembered how heartbroken you felt--you had been looking forward to your favorite smoothie all day. Work sucked and those little pick-me-ups always boosted your mood and energy when you needed them.

"And after that we sat down and started talking--we have a lot in common." You giggled, carefully dripping foundation on your face before beginning to blend it. "He seemed hesitant at first, when he asked me out, tonight... But he finally got all the words out and, well, I d'nno... It felt right to finally say yes to someone?"

"Hmm." He hummed, thinking hard. You didn't normally warm up to people, and to see you so excited for something... he was happy for you. His shy little bird opening up her wings a little.

"And you are not concerned this man was putting up a front?" He asked dubiously, his own mind drawing conclusions.

"...No. I really didn't get that vibe from him." You replied thoughtfully, looking down at your bronzers and highlighters; trying to think of what kind of look you wanted to go for. Something to match your little turtleneck dress, surely. And well, it was Valentine's Day, so.... You went with some neutral shades. Blush was light and pink; your eyeshadows a mix of red and pink, too.

"...I see." Khonshu murmured, his head tipping to the other side.

"But we're going to meet up for dinner tonight. I hope it all goes well..." Your voice had fallen a little bit; the melancholy tone slipping into your voice a little saddening. You had spent many of these holidays alone--never having anyone to spend them with.

So... Well. There was no harm in letting you have this date, letting you go out and try to have fun with this mystery man of yours.

But you were downright silly to think Khonshu would just up and let you go to an undisclosed location without him shadowing you to make sure your were safe.

He had intended to follow you to make sure your date was what you had claimed he was--not some secret serial killer or someone who had a history of some form of violence towards another person.

But this... was so much worse.

Oh, he was steaming.

Fuming, toxic--an inferno of rage and disgust when he sat down with you at your little table.

The setting was a little roo intimate for his tastes; warm, soft candlelight, round-table booths where two could sit undeniably closer than most would deem normal--tucked in the back where few prying eyes would see.

Well. Save for him, anyways.

But what made him the most angry wasn't even how close you two were sitting; or even how he made you laugh.

It was the fact your date was Steven-fucking-Grant. The biggest thorn in his side since Marc had begun work under him as his Avatar. Even bigger than Marc's challenging and anti-authoritative attitude towards his will.

He was glad the man was no threat, but he hated the fact that naturally, your shy and quiet-natured soul had been drawn to Steven. The man was, by his own tally, a whiney, soft-hearted little cretin.

Always looking on the verge of a panic attack or a sobbing fit, his very soul radiated something that pissed Khonshu off.

And so... Khonshu decided that he could not let this be. Not his little bird. Not on his watch.

You needed to be kept safe--and being involved with Steven or any of the others meant you could be put in harm's way. Even moreso just than being a follower of his.

At least worshipping him can be done in private. Here you are, in public, with the worm. Instead of devouring him, like a bird should, you commiserated and laughed with him.

And so, he spent the rest of the evening trying to ruin your date; if only to keep you safe. Yes, yes. He had to keep you safe. And away from Steven. Especially Steven.

...Mostly Steven.

When Steven held out the little flower he'd gotten for you, Khonshu made the candle flame flare up and catch the head on fire--making the both of you panic just for him to dunk it in the pitcher of water at your table.

But all that did was make you worry, taking his hands to check them over for burns, handing your napkin from your lap to dry his hands.

He spilled the glass of wine on Steven's crisp and neatly-pressed shirt. All that did was make you giggle at Steven's apology for being "clumsy", and you leaned over with some napkins to try and dab away the red stain on the fabric.

The waiter had dropped your food order, spilling your pasta in your own lap and covering your legs with the sauce and noodles. (Oh, he felt bad for that one.)

But once again, fate was conspiring against him. Steven had all but tripped over himself in an effort to try and flag down the staff for a towel to help clean you off (but maintaining a respectful touch as he did so).

At all the "funny" coincidences of the evening, Steven managed to convince you to let him walk you home.

Khonshu had had enough.

He pushed Steven into a dirty puddle in the sidewalk, splattering your nice shoes with grime and muck, his curls plastered to his head with gross water as he was left sputtering in confusion.

So... naturally, you ripped off your jacket when you pulled him up, and wiped his face with it; offering to take him back to your apartment to clean up.

The night turning out "perfect" for you two had him wanting to smash his skull open on a brick wall.

"Don't mean t' take up your couch, love." Steven murmured into his warm cup of tea. You had so generously offered to wash his clothes for him and let him shower--even giving him permission to use your special shampoos and soaps!--and then told him, since his laundry was dirty... He could have the couch and you two could split the vegan-friendly chocolates he brought for you while his clothes were washing.

"It's okay." You reply, wiping the last bits of your makeup from your face; already having slipped into some cute pajamas with kitty cats on them, your shirt had the slogan "Nap time is the purr-fect time!" on it. You sat next to him, cradling your cup of tea in your hands, the faint sound of your washer humming along in the background.

"Whole bloody evening's been a mess, hasn't it?" He smiled apologetically. "I didn't mean to come home with you--that is! Uh! I mean..." He rubbed the back of his neck and couched nervously, a hint of pink on his cheeks, "Well, I didn't want to impose, y'know? Or seem like some creepy weirdo who tries to stalk girls home, yeah?"

Steven was wearing a pair of your largest pj pants, and an old sports jersey, wrapped up in one of your fuzzy bathrobes. He looked the farthest thing away from a "creep". He had been a perfect gentleman all evening!

"It's okay." You smile warmly at him, setting your mug down next to his on the coffee table in font of you, reaching for your TV remote.

As you both settled in on your couch for a silly rom-com movie that had popped up in your recommended list on Netflix, Khonshu was almost vibrating from the sheer rage he felt--he was certain he would snap his staff with how hard he had been gripping it.

He was even more enraged when, after you had both become so engrossed with the movie you had let your time slip away; that you had offered to let Steven stay the fucking night. And even moreso that he accepted.

When the two of you had fallen asleep, cuddling on your couch--Khonshu hated the fact that you two just seemed... so... Ugh! Perfect for each other! No matter what he had done tonight--somehow you inevitably wound up in his arms; snuggled up and sleeping peacefully.

Well... it was better than the more intimate alternative--but still!

The bird wound up cuddling with the worm. His little bird.

As your chests rose and fell with calm, even breathing; Steven snuggled so tightly against you that his arm was draped over your waist and his nose was in the crook of your neck, Khonshu glowered.

He wondered if he let himself get hit by a car, would it kill him?

It was better than watching his sweet, innocent little bird fall for one of the most deceptively innocent creatures on Earth.

You've been a part of the Bat Family since Dick was adopted by Bruce all those years ago. You met Dick at school and instantly became friends. You visited the manor almost every day.

As your friendship with Dick deepened, you discovered the family secret and promised never to tell a soul, a promise you've kept to this day.

Having known Dick from the beginning, you witnessed the family grow over the years. Everyone anticipated the day you and Dick would confess your love for each other and start dating, but that day never came. You only saw Dick as your best friend, and he saw you the same way.

However, this didn't bother anyone in the family much, especially Damian. Despite his outward demeanor, Damian harbored deep affection for you. He cherished the time you spent together, whether playing video games, watching movies, baking (a favorite pastime of Damian's), or simply hanging out.

Things took a turn when Jason began joining in on these activities. Initially, Damian didn't mind, as long as it didn't interfere with your "sister time."

But Damian's patience wore thin as he noticed you and Jason spending more time alone together. A few weeks later, it was revealed that you two were dating. While everyone else was happy for you, Damian couldn't hide his disappointment. He'd pout whenever he saw you with Jason, drawing your attention back to him with a forced smile.

Damian couldn't bear being sidelined in favor of Jason. He needed to address the situation immediately.

One evening, you were cuddling with Jason on the couch when Damian entered the room.

"Todd, I need to speak with you in my room, now," Damian said, his expression serious and arms crossed. You glanced at Jason, shrugged, and told him to go ahead. Jason sighed and followed Damian to his room.

"Please, have a seat," Damian gestured toward his bed.

"What's up, little devil? I was enjoying cuddling with my girlfriend," Jason said, clearly annoyed.

"That's precisely why we're here—to talk about your girlfriend," Damian replied, pacing the room. Jason raised an eyebrow, curious about Damian's intentions.

"Your girlfriend means a lot to me. Every time she's here, we bond over fun activities. She treats me like a little brother, and I feel loved. No one has ever done that for me. But things changed when you two started dating, and I haven't been able to spend as much time with her. I understand she's happy with you, surprisingly, but I need to set some ground rules. First rule: If you ever hurt her, I'll come after you with everything I've got, even where the Lazarus Pit can't bring you back. Understood?" Damian explained.

Jason nodded, smiling. He refrained from making any jokes, respecting Damian's genuine concern for you.

"Good. Now, the next rule is that I need to have alone time with her twice a week, without you. That's our time, and you can't be a part of it," Damian declared.

"The last rule is that you can't tell her any of this. Do we have a deal?" Damian extended his hand.

Jason shook Damian's hand firmly. "Deal."

"Do her right, Jason. She deserves the best," Damian said softly.

"I will, little devil. She deserves everything," Jason replied with a smirk.

"Now, let's head back downstairs before she gets suspicious," Damian said, leading the way. Damian settled on the couch beside you, snuggling into your left side. Jason followed suit, cuddling into your right side.

"Ah, my favorite boys," you said, kissing each of them on the forehead. Damian and Jason looked up at you, smiling.

Summary:The people at your daughter's school don't believe who her mom is, so she decides to show them

You stood patiently as you heard the sound of the last bell ringing, followed by tens of tiny footsteps made by the children exiting the school in a orderly line, you waited until it was your daughter's class turn and looked for her, when you two finally spotted each other she told her teacher she saw you and sprinted to give you a hug.

"Daddy!"

You wrapped your hands around the short girl as she tried her best to do the same before you pulled back, putting her bag around your shoulder in the process,and held her small hand while starting to walk back home.

"How did your day go, yuta?"

"It was awesome, I did a really cool drawing and the teacher said it was the best of the class"

"That's great, I can't wait to see it"

"And-and then at recess we played hide and seek and no one could find me"

"Yeah you've already been the best at that game not even I can find you"

The half devil just giggled and continued to drag you faster to your home.

When you arrived there you started preparing snacks for her, after you finished, you found her in the living room watching cartoons while petting one of the dogs

"This is in case you get hungry ok?"

You sat near her and watched her eat the snacks you gave her

"Hey daddy when is mommy coming home?"

"Oh you know, she's still working, she'll come pretty soon though"

Your wife often got stuck working on paperwork at public safety headquartered (often because of some stupid stunt denji and power pulled), so she let you leave early to go pick up your daughter, nayuta knew this and she usually never complained about it so you were pretty surprised she asked

"Is something wrong? you usually never ask about mom"

".....mommy is like super important right?"

"Well she is the boss of the people who fight devils so yes. Super duper important why?"

While it was definitely true public safety still mainly fought strong devils, they were much much rarer and less powerful than they once were, the fact that an incredibly powerful and practically invincible horseman of apocalypse was now actively and happily helping humanity deterred the smarter ones from doing large scale attacks and as a result the public wasn't as scared of them in turn making them weaker,but to your daughter anyone who fought devils was cool and her mother triply so because she was the boss.

"Some jerks didn't believe me when I said that!"

"What?"

"Yeah they said stuff like "no way your mom is that important" or "you don't look rich" and "you look nothing like her! They're just some idiots"

You were very confused at the comments, especially the last one since nayuta literally had the same eyes as her mother but quickly pulled her into another hug to comfort her

"It's alright yuty, they're just wrong"

"Y-yeah"

"You know what, I think mom wouldn't be happy to hear what those people said about you. When she comes home, we'll tell her all about it, ok?"

"Yeah, and then she'll show them"

"Yeah, let's continue watching your show now ok?"

"OK I love you daddy"

"I love you too sweetie"

Not that long after you heard the door open and turned to see your beautiful wife

"I'm home"

You and nayuta immediately walked up to her. You hugged her, and you two shared a kiss

"I missed you dear"

"I did too"

She then turned to nayuta and started ruffling her black hair

"And how did my favorite girl do at school today?"

"It was great I did a super cool drawing"

"Oh really? Sounds great"

"But then someone told me that they didn't believe you're my mom"

"..............what?"

"Yeah they were all like "there's no way your mom is that important" they also told me I don't look rich and we look totally different"

"Ah, I see. Well, I guess it's to be expected after all y/n Is the one to pick you up, and I am quite an important figure in Japan, so skepticism is natural"

"But they're wrong and they don't get it, I'm tired of them treating me like a liar"

Makima pulled her daughter into her third hug of the day (she loves them a lot) to calm her down before coming up with something

"How about tomorrow I come back early and pick you up, then we'll show them who's wrong"

"*gasp* really? But don't you have some super important work to do?"

"It's just boring paperwork I'm sure someone else can take care of that, seeing my daughter smile is more important, I'll even let you leave early ok?"

The next day, nayuta was in her class listening to the teacher when a knock on the door caught her attention. When it was opened, she saw you and makima standing there

"*gasp* mommy,daddy!"

She immediately ran to you with a huge smile on her face, you grabbed her small body and lifted her over your shoulders giving her a piggyback ride

"You came!"

"Of course sweetie"

Nayuta stuck her tongue out at her classmates while enjoying seeing their bewildered and envious faces, so she decided to push her luck

"I'm really hungry can we get ice cream?"

"Of course, we can get all the ice cream you want"

The young girl smiled even brighter at that, especially because her classmates got even more jealous. You and makima were also pleased to see that as it meant that your daughter wouldn't get picked on again.

You went outside and started walking towards the ice cream shop

"They were so jealous! I bet tomorrow they'll be saying how cool how I am"

"That's because you are yuta, be careful though some of them may want to be your friend only because of your mom, choose your friends carefully"

"OK.......thanks"

"Don't thank us. By the way, if they start actually bullying you even more, please tell us, I only want to see you happy"

"Yeah.....You're the best parents ever, I love you so much mommy and daddy"

Makima felt a warmth in her heart at her daughter's words. She loved hearing that she loved her and considered her a good mom. It made all of the suffering she had felt worth it knowing that there were two people who she could love forever and who felt the same way towards her made her so happy, a feeling that only increased when you kissed her cheek and held her hand. Now that she could truly feel love, she was sure of three things: she loved you, she loved nayuta, and she loved this life.
