Steve accidentally gets teleporting powers and he’s having trouble controlling them. The whole team got zapped by some science p/magic ray and either had their powers swapped with some random power or was given some. And they are all getting the hang of them* but Steve’s having trouble. In that instead of teleporting anywhere at will, the man keeps randomly landing on top of TONY
And the trouble is they called in a teleporting expert to teach him (like Nightcrawler or whatever) but Steve keeps getting the first exercise wrong. See he’s taken a distance away and then has to picture and focus on one place and then poof over there. This way they can test the distance he can poof and how to learn to be deliberate rather then random. But unfortunately, for SOME reason, Steve keeps landing on top of poor Tony who is either trying to figure out his own temporary power down by the Hudson River, or actually working at the office, at a coffee shop, and then finally sleeping in bed, poof here’s Steve!
(Turns out Steve’s “focus point” was supposed to be home, and oops Steve’s heart has made the Tony=home leap before his brain did. Both are confused until they aren’t lol)
*Tony got hydrokinesis, which is fun but ehhhh, he’s got work to do and water and electronics don’t mix. Clint got super bouncy powers so he’s being an annoying rubber ball around the tower, Bruce can talk to animals, Nat got super strength, Thor got mind reading and left to go hang out in space because no thank you)
steve automatically fixating on tony as his home!!!💖💖💖💖💖 god they're so DUMB
also my brain is SENDING me over the image of clint bouncing like 90 miles per hour around the compound shchdhhd
i feel like all of the avengers would adapt fairly well to their new powers and thor is absolutely the smartest one there for fucking off after developing telekinesis. like tony and steve are annoyingly oblivious on a good day but being able to hear every pining sigh from them ALONG with their mopey inner monologues would actually kill him fhhdhr

--------
You slept through any offerings of daylight the next day.
The bustle of the infirmary was a hum to your ears, your exhaustion keeping the world a distance away. Even the healers couldn't stir you when the frequented your room, changing your dressings and checking your pulse.
You woke for a meal of simple broth in the evening, and were glad to have kept it down. You still fought feverish sweats and chills, and the ache in your stomach and chest was persistent. Madja would oversee your care as she had the evening before. She had given one instruction – the more rest, the better.
Night set on the ward again, and you were glad to be enveloped by dim lighting and quieter activity.
Unsure of when sleep had found you, you awoke in an open field. It was bright, the high-pointed sun drenching the landscape in gold, the lake in the distance sparkling and inviting. Familiarity warmed you more than the sun, yet the scene around you remained hazy.
Ears pricking at a ripple of laughter ahead of you, your heart fluttered with excitement. It was instinct to chase that voice, your bare feet pushing from the warmed grass beneath them as you broke into a run. Your skirts kicked beneath you before you hiked them above your knees, both your speed and smile growing.
Ahead was the source of the laughter, a child who also ran, her long locks bouncing with a distinct curl. Meryl. She was no more than 10 years of age, her childish laugh echoing in your ears as your heart pulled at the sight of her.
“Meryl!” you called, continuing the chase, your heels pounding to the ground as you tried to speed up. “Slow down!” You heard your own voice then, also of a child.
The setting around you flooded with detail as a lost memory found you. Your visit to your parent’s good friend in Spring Court, an Uncle of sorts, his charming lake-side cottage where you and your sister would spend hours swimming and playing – and chasing! Of course! Each day you raced to see who would reach the lake first, and Meryl had always been that little bit faster.
Meryl responded with another laugh, so innocent and carefree, as a child should be. You reached a hand out, your heart pounding as you struggled to catch up. You ached for one more chance to speak with her or to hold her, or even to see her face. But she bounded onwards without ever turning her head.
A harsh breeze blew from behind, and the golden glow of the once-memory quickly turned grey and harsh as a storm threatened the sky. The water of the lake was now violent, thrashing with unforgiving waves. You halted your run, yet Meryl bound forward, her laughter drowned by the roar of the wind.
“Meryl!” you called again, your voice now of your adult self, urgent and panicked. As you tried to resume running, you almost toppled over, your hands catching you before you could fall. Something had anchored your bare feet to the ground.
With a yell of frustration, you tried to pry your legs free. Up ahead, your sister’s figure grew smaller, her direction set for the dangerous waters.
“Please! Meryl stop!” Tears began to well in your eyes as you fought to free yourself. You saw them then, the swirls of shadows that kept your legs pinned and unmoving.
“Wha-? Get off me!” You frantically clawed at them, but instead they climbed your arms too, forcing you to the ground.
Hands were on you then, tugging at your clothes and pulling at your limbs. Shadows mixed with siphons blue and red, and swirls of night clouded your vision, between it peeks of Meryl slipping further and further away. You clutched at the roots of the grass, desperate to pull yourself free.
“Stop! I have to save her!” you begged, your voice breaking with despair. But those hands were unrelenting, so strong in their grip as you tried to summon your power. That too rendered useless, cracking to a quick fizzle without so much as a sting.
Before you could call one final plea to your sister, shadows and hands and magic smothered your mouth, drowning your cry in their hold. All you could do was watch in horror as Meryl dived beneath the thrashing waves before your vision was overcome with smoke and night, and finally black.
————
Azriel and Cassian watched as you writhed in your cot, the feverish sweat on your brow glowing in the soft fae light of the infirmary wing.
“What’s wrong with her?” Cassian whispered, his face etched with concern as he stepped closer to you. He gingerly bought a callused hand to your cheek, running one gentle stroke down the length of it.
Azriel’s frown deepened as he heard your sister’s name muttered on your lips, followed by a whimper and ragged breaths. “It’s a fever dream.” he answered, his arms folded as he kept to the edge of your cot.
Cassian looked down at you, noting the tears that stained your cheeks.“We shouldn't have come here,” he said, his jaw tight from guilt. “She’s still unwell, we should let her rest.”
He and Azriel had easily snuck into the ward, winnowing straight past the few healers on night shift, and even slipping past Madja who was buried in paperwork at the desk near the entrance of the infirmary. But now Cassian eyed the door, just as eager to leave.
Azriel was only half listening to his brother as he commanded his shadows. They climbed at the base of your cot, swirling inwards as they found their way to your face and limbs, cooling you as you continued to stir, now a little more gently. Azriel did not show his satisfaction as he watched you sigh, finding some comfort in their touch.
The sound of a curtain being harshly drawn caused the males to jump, revealing an incredibly unimpressed Madja. Azriel cursed himself silently, having used all of his shadows to soothe you without setting guard to the room.
“I don’t want to hear your sorry excuses,” she said coldly to the males, pushing past them and setting a pale next to your bed. She shooed Azriel’s shadows as if they were a mutt on the street, and they quickly scattered back to their master.
“How is she doing?” Cassian asked, eyes pleading.
“I will not disclose that to you,” the healer answered tightly. Wringing the towel within the pale, Madja wiped the sweat from your brow. Your stirring had stopped at least, and you seemed to have found a deeper slumber than before. Madja sighed now, before casting a half look to the boys. “She’s improving, but is still quite weak.”
The males nodded, your sickly skin, limp body and slick hair as evident as the healer’s prognosis.
“Do I need to have words with the High Lord and Lady of their emissaries overstepping my regulations?” Madja asked without looking their way, wringing the cloth yet again before pressing it to your neck and bust. “Not to mention violating patient privacy,” she added.
Cassian hung his head low. “I’m sorry. I don't know what we were thinking.” Azriel refused to look at the healer, his eyes never leaving you.
Madja continued to care for you in silence, allowing Cassian and Azriel to grovel for a few more moments. Picking up the pale, she made to leave your bedside before answering the males. “I have worked with enough Illyrian’s to know of your possessive nature. But I won't be so forgiving if she wakes to find you here. Already your scents have caused more harm than good. She must not know you came, it will only upset her and might unravel her progress.”
“She’s that upset with us?” Azriel asked, his gaze beyond the healer before him, still fixed on you.
“Yes,” she answered plainly. Neither of the males knew what to say. “Now leave, before I regret showing any patience for boyish brutish idiocy.”
Azriel took the risk of another tongue lashing to send a final shadow to caress your cheek, before clasping his brother’s arm and winnowing back to the House of Wind.
————
You were kept at the infirmary for another four nights without any further disturbance from your family. They asked to visit, of course, practically begging through letters and pleas to Madja. But each of their requests were left unanswered, and you too buried your need to have them by your side while you healed.
It gave you time to think of a plan – you could not stay at the infirmary forever. When you had first moved the Velaris, while training as a spy, you lived in a small apartment in the cliffs that faced the Sidra. You hadn't visited there in almost a decade, but your once-home was written to your name, and vacant.
Madja insisted on settling you in, helping you climb the stairs to your room as fatigue still lingered.
Prying the stiff wooden door open, you almost smiled at the sight of your old home. A mattress lay on the floor in the corner of the room just as you had left it – you had never been able to afford a frame on training wages. A small chest of drawers was pushed up against the wall, and the kitchenette was lined with those charming blue tiles just as you remembered.
You were thankful Madja had sent a maid ahead of time, and while the musk of an unused apartment lingered, you were glad to not have to dust in your current state. The small fireplace contained fresh logs of wood which meant there was no urgent trip to the markets either.
“This is it,” you spoke more to yourself as you ran a hand along the kitchenette before making your way over to the chest, prying a stiff drawer open.
Madja was less than impressed. “Child, perhaps you would consider more comfortable accommodation? One where the bed is not on the floor?”
“I’ll be fine here,” you answered, distracted as you searched through your old drawers, finding them empty.
“The High Lord and Lady have offered to accommodate you elsewhere–”
“I don't want their help,” you snapped, shoving the drawer back into the chest with notable anger.
She pressed her lips into a thin line. “You don't need to suffer at the cost of their mistakes, Y/N.”
You sighed then, pinching the bridge of your nose. “I won't accept their fortune any longer. This home is mine, I worked hard for it. I will be perfectly fine here while I figure out a plan.”
Madja nodded, scanning the room once over. “Do not forget to take your medicine,” she lectured before turning to the door, knowing better than to linger. There was no remedy for how quiet the apartment fell when she left, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
Mustering the little energy you had, you set your kettle to boil, waiting patiently for the steam to whistle from the tin, the only sound to fill the apartment beyond the distant hum of the town below.
After a few sips of tea, exhaustion found you again. Setting the mug of tea aside on the cold wooden floor, you crawled into bed, pulling the too-thin covers over your head and leaving your drink unfinished. With your back to the world that beckoned outside, you faced the wall instead, tracing a crack that ran across its length.
How motivated you had felt when you first moved here. At the time, you were grieving Meryl of course, but you had a plan – a one way ticket to ensure a balance in the world, to fight for some sense of justice. Never had you thought it could fail so miserably.
So you traced that crack with a weak finger, remembering your sister, mourning her with a fresh wave of pain.
Grief continued to weigh heavy on your chest the following few days. You had intentions on visiting the market, buying some food and sustaining yourself while you made a new plan. But instead you felt anchored to your mattress, the idea of cooking and bathing and facing the outside world completely overwhelming. Instead, cups of tea brewed only to be left untouched, yours eyes heavy as you watched the steam rising from the mug swirl and dance, and by the time it finally cooled you were already asleep.
And the cycle continued. In the moments you had the strength, you wept. And in the moments you didn’t, you slept.
It was after five days that Madja visited to replenish your medicine. The healer opened the door to your apartment when her knocks went unanswered, casting the first bit of natural light in the room in days. With your back facing outwards, you didn’t stir as she walked over and immediately collecting the assortment of mugs on the floor.
“Have you left this room at all?”
You offered a small shake of your head, unable to lift it from your pillow, your eyes red and stiff with dried tears.
“Have you eaten?”
Your stillness was her answer. Madja sighed. “Well we simply can't have that. I understand a loss for appetite, so I will bring some additional brews to keep you sustained.”
“I don't want them.” It took all your strength to turn over your shoulder and look at the healer, your voice hoarse having gone days without speaking.
She simply shook her head as she looked down at you. You do not have a choice, her expression read.
“Might you try to get some fresh air? Or bathe? I can assist with both if you–“
But you were already turning your shoulder to the wall, immediately exhausted at the thought of leaving your bed. “I’ll do it tomorrow Madja,” you sighed. “I’m too tired in this moment.” You didn't have the energy to wonder if she bought your lie or not.
The healer said nothing as she closed the door quietly behind her.
————
“I’m concerned for her wellbeing.” Madja sat opposite the High Lord and Lady in their study, a large willow desk between them. Rhys sat with his hands laced together tightly, a deep frown etched on his face. Feyre beside him held a sleeping Nyx, doing her best to not stir the babe while she exchanged looks of deep concern.
“She isn't eating. She barely drinks a thing, and has failed to take much of her medicine. If she continues at this rate, she will fall much more ill.”
“What can we do?” Feyre asked gently, stroking Nyx’s hair while he snoozed at her chest.
“I don’t suggests interfering at this stage. I am only here to warn you of my concerns.”
“And what happens if she worsens?” Rhys asked, his violet eyes holding the stare of the healer in front of him.
“I will call for you then. I hate to suggest the use of your daemati abilities, but if it comes down to life or death…” Madja trailed off, her hands clamping even tighter in her lap.
“We understand,” Rhys responded with a single nod, casting a knowing look to his mate. “Thank you for coming here, Madja.”
The healer stood to leave. “Do not thank me. Again, I am clear to not involve myself in what has occurred between you and Y/N. I am here purely as her healer.”
The High Lord and Lady stood too, seeing her to the door.
“Please keep us informed, and if there is anything that we can provide,” Feyre added quickly, almost desperate to convey her care.
Madja responded with a tight nod, turning to leave. And had she left only moments earlier, she would have found two Illyrians by the door, overhearing the entire conversation. But they were already on their way.
————
Lost again in deep sleep, you didn't stir as the Shadowsinger and General entered your apartment, Azriel’s shadow’s having easily pried the lock open.
The sight of your trembling figure curled up on the mattress pulled at both their hearts, your hands fisted at the covers with deep yet disturbed sleep.
Azriel stealthily made his way across to the bathroom, the sound of running water soon filling the room. With no dining table or chair in sight, Cassian set the meal they had bought in the small kitchen before quietly approaching you. He knelt down on two strong knees, brushing the backs of his fingers against your cheek before gently shaking you.
“Y/N, wake up doll, it’s us,” he spoke with a hushed voice.
Stirring slightly, you were slow to wake, blinking through the darkness as you were sure you were still dreaming. But as your eyes cleared, the large figure in front of you revealed itself – wings tucked in, hair pulled back in a signature bun, leather strapped up to his knuckles. Cassian was the definition of strength met with comfort, and it took you a few moments to come to your senses.
Your body froze before you sat up quickly, shoving his hands off of you. “Wh-wh?” you stuttered, your eyes dancing between his.
Cassian raised his palms in surrender. “It’s alright, don't panic. We’re just here to help you with a few things.”
Your found your voice then, deep from within your chest, hoarse and broken from days of crying. “Get out,” you spat.
Azriel appeared from the bathroom, watching from the doorway. You flashed your eyes to his, rage quickly filling your veins. How dare they intrude.
“We just want to make sure you’re all right sweetheart, and then we’ll go,” Cassian reasoned. He stood now, offering you his hand.
Days without eating meant the hurry you stood in caused your head to spin, black dots now dancing in your vision. But you held your ground, your voice even icier than before. “I said get out.”
“C’mon doll, let us help you for five minutes.”
“You’re idea of help undid everything I ever worked for.” You shoved at his chest, and he let you push him a few steps back, your hands trembling as you pulled them back.
“Y/N when was the last time you ate?” Azriel’s voice was gentle too, your vision reeling as you whipped your head to glare in his direction. Shaking your head, you curled your hands to fists. It was none of their business.
“Please, sweetheart,” Cassian reached for you then, which earned another shove from you.
“No Cassian! No! Do you understand you have done? Did you even consider what would happen when you decided I wasn't good enough?”
“It wasn’t like that Y/N. We had to keep you safe.” Azriel stayed by the bathroom door, his arms now crossed as shadows slowly seeped on the wooden floor towards you.
Days of isolation and exhaustion had tears pricking at your eyes already. “You are cowards. And I want nothing to do with either of you.”
“Please Y/N–,” Cassian tried one more time.
“Get out of my life.” You had never uttered words so cold. You shoved the General again, but this time he stayed put. Your gritted your teeth, seething at him. “You broke me!”
Cassian looked down at you, his brow pulling in sorrow.
“You shattered my world.” Another unsuccessful push, and you were crying. “Now I have nothing, I am nothing.”
Both of them watched you as your face crumpled, your anger rising as you punched at Cassian’s chest, too weak to cause any harm. “I hate you!”
Cassian’s eyes welled as he stood still, taking the beating without so much as a flinch. “We’re so sorry,” he whispered.
You shook your head, ignoring his apology as you began pounding against him with weak fists. “I hate you both!”
Tears now rolled down the General’s cheek as he let you continue your assault. “We’re so so sorry Y/N.”
You kept shaking your head as Cassian caught both of your wrists, holding them as he took to one knee in front of you.
“We love you,” Cassian cried, prying your fist open and kissing your palm, kissing up your arm, his thumb stroking your hand in the way he knew soothed you. “Please forgive us.”
You broke at his plea. He was a good male, they both were. But they had turned your heart to stone, turned you to someone so damaged, so unrelenting and unforgiving, someone you never wanted to be. You were a monster of their own making, and there was no undoing it. Sobs racked through your body, and it took everything you had not to crumble to the ground.
Azriel was behind you then, his shadows curling around your exposed skin, soothing you where they could. You did not fight him, not as he took your hands from Cassian, not as he too kissed your tears away while murmuring his own apologies, not even when he lifted you from under your knees, carrying you to the bathroom. You hated him, your mind screaming at you to yell and hiss and spit, to swear him from your home and from your life. But in this moment, where exhaustion and isolation loomed, you had no more fight to give.
Azriel didn’t speak as he undressed you before placing you in the tub. You were still crying as he washed you, scarred hands so attentive to your body, the sound of water sloshing and pouring over your head mixing with your laboured breaths. You kept your knees to your chest, your head turned away, but you let him scrub you clean.
He gently pulled you from the tub into a fresh towel, wrapping you in the soft cotton before lifting you again. Your apartment had come to life with a small fire Cassian had lit, low flames flickering with warmth.
Azriel moved to sit on the bed, keeping you bundled in his lap. Cassian was crouched in front of you, his hands holding a vial of stew, the steaming contents bought to your mouth on a spoon.
“Eat this,” Cassian said gently. You wanted to be stubborn, to fight them more than the pathetic amount you already had. But your stomach cramped with hunger at the scent of the stew, and you were to weak to refuse it. So you let Cassian feed you, your body growing more and more slack the fuller your stomach became. A vial of medicine was quickly tipped against your lips too, and you swallowed its contents with a small whimper.
In your exhausted haze, your hardly noticed Azriel dress you in fresh clothes, even braiding your hair before he lay you down, pulling the covers over your.
Cassian and Azriel were watching you as you fought your sleep, heavy eyes lifting to find them.
“I meant what I said.” Your voice was a mere whisper
They exchanged a look, before Cassian crouched to pull the covers closer to your chin. “We know.”
There was a beat of silence. “I want you to leave me be.”
“Not until you start taking care of yourself,” Azriel spoke, his voice soft yet strict. You didn't have any energy to fight back, to tell him he could blame himself for the spiral you had entered.
“Go,” your rasped before turning your back to them, enticed by the comfort of sleep with a full belly, clean clothes and warm apartment.
“Rest up Y/N.” Cassian’s words were a lullaby you couldn’t fight.
“We love you,” Azriel added, and the last thing you felt was the caress of cool shadows at your neck before you drifted off to a dreamless sleep.
————
Waking to sunlight, you felt notably stronger than you had in days. You knew it was because of the care Azriel and Cassian had provided, which frustrated you to your core.
Azriel’s words rung clear in your mind. They would not leave you be until you started to take care of yourself, so you would leverage the strength you had to come up with a plan.
It only took a few days for your Uncle to reply. Yes, he still had his home by the lake. Yes, you could stay with him as long as you needed. There was work to be done in Spring Court, rehabilitation and building after Hybern had depleted almost every resource from the lands, Tamlin not yet strong enough to recoup his court after the war. You could find sanction there, help others and distract yourself with work. And most importantly, distance yourself from the people you once loved.
With your next steps laid clear, you sent a letter to the River House, asking for one final favour.
————
Rhysand was waiting at the River House terrace alone as promised. Cloaked in signature black, he watched the stars dance in the night sky with a gentle grip on the railing, his back to you as you approached.
This was the same terrace that had hosted many evening drinks, jokes and conversations shared with your family, and even offered the much needed escape away from the buzz of various balls and celebrations. A twinge of pain stabbed at your heart at those memories. Today, it was just a terrace, a mere meeting point before you stepped towards your new life.
It was unsurprising Rhys had heeded your instruction to meet you alone, you knew he would do it. You wondered if he lied about his whereabouts, or if he instead warded your presence from the others. He had likely hidden your scent from Cassian and Azriel, but what about his mate?
Saying goodbye to Feyre and Rhys at the same time had felt far too painful, impossible even. While they were equals, High Lord and Lady as well as mates, they were still very different beings. Feyre was too forgiving, too caring and loving to have reached this point on her own. It needed to be Rhys, you needed to direct this at someone who could take it, someone who deserved it.
“How are you feeling?” he asked, turning now, hands sliding to his pockets. You ignored his question, stopping a few paces away. Tension hung heavy between you.
“Thank you for meeting me,” you said tightly. Rhysand didn't speak, but offered an arm to the seating behind you. You sat down silently, your last act of obedience.
“I can no longer serve the Night Court,” you said plainly.
Rhysand didn’t flinch, wise enough to have known this was coming. “That does not mean you don't have a home here,” he answered calmly, as if that logic was reason enough to stay.
You shook your head stubbornly. “Please accept my resignation.”
Rhysand sighed then, leaning forward on his elbows to level a look at you. “I’m aware, Y/N, and I accept. This formality isn’t necessary.”
You knew that, it wasn't why you were here. Rhysand waited patiently for you to continue.
“I need a favour.”
“Anything,” he responded almost instantly.
“I need you to let me leave.”
Rhysand sat back now, a small frown pulling at his brow. “The choice has always been yours.”
Shaking your head, you looked up at the High Lord. “I don't trust that wherever I go, I won't be followed.”
Rhysand raised his brows.
“After recent events, I know Azriel and Cassian won't allow me that freedom.”
Rhysand let out a quick breath before nodding once, violet eyes finding the nights horizon. “I’ll ask them to adhere to your wishes.”
“As if that is enough,” you bit back, ice laced in your tone. “Pull rank, use your power, lie or cheat or trick, I don't really care. Just make it happen, it’s the least I deserve.”
Rhysand breathed quietly as he studied you. “Consider it done,” he said finally.
Gratefulness was an instinct, but you stubbornly bit down your thanks. Instead, a moment of silence fell between you.
“Where are you going?” Rhys pried.
“Do not ask me that.”
“I care for your safety.”
“I don’t want your care.”
Rhysand audibly sighed then, one hand reaching at the distance between you, finding place on the chase. “Tell me, Y/N. Say it out loud.”
You flashed your eyes to him. He looked back at you, his expression worried, concerned, pitying. Gods you hated that look.
“There is no point,” you said coldly, struggling to hide the grit of your teeth.
“I can take it,” he said softly.
Rage coursed through you at an uncontrollable speed. “You think I'm sparing you?” You let out a cold laugh, moments away from that savage, lethal switch, your power now stinging at your fingertips.
“I think you’re far from having faced the truth.”
A snarled escaped you, and you could feel your power surge, igniting your irises with a brilliant yellow. Had you not been so blind with anger, you might have realised this was exactly what Rhysand intended.
“It’s the truth you seek then?” you began. “How about the fact that you have plagued my heart with more hate than I ever believed possible. Shall I tell you of the shame that haunts me day and night that I let myself trust you for all these years? Or that I was naive enough to think I could find another family after Meryl’s death? But it would seem the only family I have is dead, and it has in fact always been that way. You broke me Rhys, you all broke me. I was a fool to have loved you so dearly, and ignorant to believe you ever loved me in the same way.”
Hot, angry tears streamed down your face, washing away the current that glowed in your eyes. Pressing a hand against your heart, you tried to smother the ache that throbbed at your confession. “You preach of a better court, one of choice and freedom and honour. But you snatched that away the moment it was mine for the taking.”
Rhys had kept his eyes on you, his face breaking with a little more sorrow at each sentence you spoke. “You’re right,” he said. “You’re absolutely right.” He waited a moment before placing a gentle hand on your knee. “Mother above cannot convey how sorry I am Y/N.”
You shook your head, tears welling and blurring your vision. It wasn't enough, you knew that, and Rhys knew it too.
His voice was even more gentle as he leaned forward. “I love you Y/N. Well all love you.”
Your voice was small now. “Not in the way I loved you. Not in the way family should love one another.”
“I disagree,” he countered. “You have to understand, as your High Lord, I would never send you to your death knowingly.”
“I wouldn't have died in vain,” you quietly, breaking his gaze with a flicker of shame. “All I ever wanted was a chance to make things right.”
You shocked yourself with the weight of your words, the extent of your willingness to avenge Meryl was something you hadn't even admitted to yourself. You would have died with content knowing you had at least tried to kill Alvar. But Rhys had seen that in you, well before you understood it for yourself. And together your family decided instead to keep you safe.
“I was hoping your motivation no longer overthrew your will to live,” Rhys admitted. With a deep sigh he cupped your chin in a parent-like way. “Look at me.” Whether you liked it or not, your eyes found his.
“Imagine I had taken the time to let you kill Alvar and instead he escaped, and innocent Velarians were hurt because of it – would you forgive me for putting your needs above their safety?”
Your eyes welled. “How could you ask me that Rhys?”
“I’m not trying to upset you. I’m just trying to show you the weight of the decision I had to make.” He offered you a broken smile, reaching to swipe away a tear that rolled down your cheek. To your own surprise, you let him.
“That is not the only issue here.” Your voice was thick, your throat strained as you contained the sob that jerked within. “You’ve asked me to see it from your perspective, now please consider mine. You collectively decided that the mission would be kept a secret. You banded together to act dishonestly, knowing it would ruin me. How can I ever trust you again? How am I supposed to see you as my family?”
Rhys closed his eyes as his brows gave a painful tug, a deep breath pushing out through his nose. A large hand rested gently on your knee, his thumb swiping in a sympathetic way.
“I’ll admit Y/N – I knew that this would hurt you, but I never thought we’d lose you entirely.”
You sniffed. “Then you underestimated me.”
Rhys’s violet eyes found yours, sincerity and admiration shining in the stars that beheld them. “I did. I absolutely did.” He took another deep breath before speaking. “I’m a fool to have underestimated your loyalty, your dedication and your bravery. Over 500 years in existence, and I should have known that was never mine to control.”
You stared back at him, and while the ache in your heart was far from cured, a small sense of calm washed over you. It was relief you desperately needed – to finally be understood. “Thank you for saying that,” you croaked.
Rhys watched you with a pained smile. “I only want good things for you Y/N, wherever you choose to be. You will always have a home here if you want it, if you can ever forgive us for what we did.”
And in those words, a new well opened in your heart, one that you had not seen coming.
Hearing Rhys acknowledge your decision to leave the Night Court was devastating, so much so that your hand instinctively pressed agains your heart again. There would be no more fighting or pleading, no more fists thrown or cries of rage and confessions of love. He would let you go, because you had asked it. It was the least you deserved, yet it hurt in an entirely new way.
Ahead of you, the path of solitude lay clear. You had fought for it without any idea how painful it would be to take that first step. You couldn't help the sob that escaped you as you dropped your head to your hands.
“I never wanted to leave,” you admitted through ragged breaths.
Rhys bought a gentle hand to your back. “Then stay.”
“I can’t! I can’t stay here. I am so angry with you, all of you! And I don't think I’ll ever be strong enough to forgive this, not fully.” Your cries were uncontrollable as you tried to quiet them with your hands.
Rhys was stroking your hair as he said ever so softly. “I know.”
You sniffed, blinking up at your High Lord. “There’s nothing left for me here.” There was a cold bite to your words, even as you let him comfort you.
“I know,” he repeated with that same softness and understanding.
You watched him for a moment longer. Here he was, everything you needed in a High Lord – a leader and a friend, saying all the right things in all the right ways. But he was flawed, like anyone, and that flaw had been your downfall.
“I will be leaving Velaris tonight. Please, don't ask for my whereabouts. I need… I need a clean break.”
Rhys brow twitched before he nodded tightly. “You have my word.”
Gathering yourself, you stood to smooth your skirts before looking up at your High Lord for the final time. “I will miss Nyx dearly.”
Pain sliced across Rhysand’s face in a way you had never seen, tears immediately pricking at his violet eyes. He swallowed, containing himself still. “I wish it could have been any other way Y/N, truly.”
“As do I.”
And that was all that could be said. You turned from him, pacing towards the exit while casting your eyes to the magnificent array of stars, searing the Velarian night sky to memory as you admired its beauty for the final time.
“You must know!” Rhys spoke out, a hint of urgency in his tone. “It was fear Y/N. It was fear of losing you, not ever a lack of love.”
Glancing over your shoulder, you nodded once, a broken smile on your lips. “I know,” you spoke, biting back the quiver in your lip. “I know that now.”
And you let those words be your last at the Court of Night.

Boy Scouts (Superdad x Steve Rogers x Clark Kent)
Requested by anonymous for  I love the idea of Bruce/batdad/Bucky and Steve/superdad/Clark. Please write a headcanon about their relationship if you’re ok with it
Tumblr media
Clark was more than a little excited to interview THE Captain America.
"I can't take it easy on him, can I? I have the chance not only to interview a living legend but to help him tell whatever he needs."
You have to say, you're only just a little bit jealous.
Not really of Clark; more of how Captain America was lucky indeed that your boyfriend had turned his inquiring eye to him.
Although Steve would blush to hear you put it that way.
In any case, Clark and Steve decided to take their interview on the road, instead of professionally conducted over the phone or something.
They played pool together (Clark is hopeless at the game, making Steve chuckle sympathetically), and Clark asked him some tough questions, which intrigued Steve, who was happy to find someone genuinely curious and who wasn't treating him with overwrought reverence or clinical interest.
It's through this interview that Steve finds some interest in Clark, and Steve waits until the article has come out to congratulate the man and call him up to ask if he'd like dinner sometime.
Steve's disappointment was palpable when Clark mentioned his spouse, but he accepted the offer that was suddenly presented to him of dinner at your apartment.
And much to Steve's sheer confusion... he likes you too.
It took a lot of these semi-flirtatious friend dates before you all kinda worked out what the source of Steve's unease was, and helped him through it.
Steve is also much smarter than people tend to give him credit for - he's a quick learner and incredibly observant, and so he figures out quite easily that Clark is Superman.
But without the secrets in the way, Steve dives in with both feet. He's not entirely sure how dating men works, let alone dating two married men - married to each other for that matter, but he's communicative.
Plus having love to deal with makes him forget so much that he's away from his own time for good because, well... love is timeless, isn't it?
Considering neither man is gonna stop with his hero work, it makes security all the more necessary. Steve has a lot of enemies and is eminently aware that SHIELD has a vested interest in holding on to him.
Meanwhile Clark has other enemies but the main issue is ensuring he has a clear line to speed away to change into his suit.
Canonically, it seems like Steve considers his fellow Avengers friends at best and colleagues at worst. But he doesn't really have a particularly great rapport with them or sense of camaraderie that would compel him to stay with them when the Justice League is right there.
Steve still does morning runs, but once he actually has someone to talk to that he trusts instead of wallowing in his feelings of discomfort and dissociation, he finds himself searching for hobbies more often.
(it's almost like socializing and being with people that care about him as a person and not a symbol or teammate is very good for his self-esteem and he doesn't focus on his time displacement or do things to "catch up" because that'll happen automatically with friends...)
And let's be honest, Clark loves a passionate person he can help learn to chill out and take time for themselves.
A lot of the early relationship will be finding Steve something he likes to do, not just with you, but genuinely enjoys. I suggest getting him into fandom and nerd culture. Tabletop RPGs provide him with a good, low-tech and tactile activity he can really get into and he'll spend hours sketching his characters, ideas, and painting lil minis.
Meanwhile, Steve's success in finding creative outlets also get him to enlist your help in getting Clark some relaxing time as well.
And then they both team up against you.
Steve and Clark both have a reputation for being goody-two shoes and have independently, by separate people, been called Boy Scouts.
But while they present that image, Steve is actually quite mischievous, almost to the point of being a brat. He's passionate, sarcastic, and quite fiery. Clark is whipcrack smart and playful. He has a sincere wit, and a great sense of humor. They're a great duo to be with.
Plus I can imagine Steve helping Clark find a workout routine instead of simply being maintained by the Sun. I can definitely see them training together and letting you watch.

Life Series Session Recap and Alliance Report: Session 5.
I can't believe they added mettaton to the life series.
Another week means more chaos in the block. This session has the wild card of… morally dubious trivia robots falling for the sky? OK?
It did mean we got more Life Series Oli and we got to find out how little our idiots actually know about their own series. So that's something
But hey lots of stuff that will affect the future of the season happens here, so let's stop dilly dallying and get to it.
The Final Girls (Cleo, Scott, Pearl, Impulse… Bigb!?)
Apparently Scott's desire to keep the team together is stronger than we thought, as despite having no good reason to, he allows Bigb to come back into the crew. Bigb does later try and fail to abandon them for Renwood, but it's the thought that counts.
Also established in the opening to this session, Scott is fully enabling whatever Pearl wants to do… provided what she wants to do is not hide a death pit from him.
No, what Pearl wants to do is murder people, and she has plenty of options since everyone wants to antagonise the girls this session. First Mumbo shows up to mace Cleo in the face, then Gem lures Cleo into a death trap & then Martyn explodes everyone but Pearl.
Naturally Cleo wants to get even with these pesky killers, and when Cleo wants to get even the flames are soon to come. Gem's Barn and Martyn's home are burnt by Cleo & Scott, and yet somehow everyone ends up chilling in the end, with everyone actually agreeing that they're even and that they should stop trying to kill each other. So yeah, no harm, no foul….
Except Ren, he got his house burnt down for no reason.
On the topic of revenge on martyn, Pearl tries to avenge her team by putting Martyns crystal trap back on him… only to blow herself up in the process. What follows might be Pearl's most pathetic showing in the life series as she repeatedly fails to trap Gem or kill Lizzie, still ending the session in red. Scott and his martyr complex come through in the end though and Scott gives one of his life's back to Pearl in a way that mirrors the powdered snow torture or yesteryear, only much wetter.
Oh yeah Impulse was here too. He was trap building’, he was bot nappin’, he was beepin’ N’ boopin’, and he gave up a Trident to acquire a new member… we'll talk about that washout later
Also congrats on Bigb finally getting diamonds, took you long enough.
Also also congrats on Cleo for getting the most difficult question in Trivia correct!... it was 50% a guess and they had help but shhh
The Family. (Gem & Joel)
Yeah I'm calling them the family now. Not because that's a good name, but because while Joel continues to be fast, Gem is no longer furious.
Yes, in this episode the Gals-Fam drama begins to sorta maybe kinda possibly come to a close. It starts with Gem admitting the drama was made up for the sake of having drama and being funny, something most of us guessed since if you think about the drama for more than five seconds you realise how silly and ultimately inconsequential it actually is.
The real amend making starts where all amends are made, in the smouldering remains of your home after the prison you lured into a trap burns it to the ground. Yes if they had not been interrupted by exploding, Gem and the Gals would have called each other even right here. Luckily Gem gets another chance to do this later as Pearl failing a task and having her mouth removed stops her from trying to eat Gem alive for long enough for the two of them to have a chat. In this chat that Pearl has literally no say in, it is agreed that once the two of them go red, they'll “have some fun”. Sp yeah, in the future we are looking at meminiun at a temporary alliance between Pearl & Gem.
(Also Gem and Joel try to get Pearl to betray Scott, which marks the second time this has happen this season)
In other stuff Gem builds possibly the worst tower I've ever seen. So I'm happy Cleo burnt that down. Of more consequence she also builds their very own Creeper spawner. Very dangerous in the hands of Joel.
Speaking of Joel he has a rollercoaster this session. He has many notable successes such as creating two hidden cow spawners, a chicken farm and braving the never to get Potion ingredients. But he also got his ugly car exploded by Skizz and got smashed and banged by Tango.
He did manage a three block jump over Etho's head though so I'd say this was his best session of the entire life series.
Renwood (Martyn & Ren)
Rambert last session when I said Scott probably regrets being teamed with 3 little chaos goblins? Yeah translate that to Ren this session. Martyn is an absolute menace and there is no way Ren will achieve his goal of “extinguishing the evil within this man”. Martyn is tricking folks into messing up Trivia, he's killing Gem with creepers despite being allied, he's killing The Gals right after seeing Cleo burn down Gems entire base, he might be the most chaotic one here.
That isn't to say Martyn doesn't get his narrative comeuppance, he gets ravaged off his own base and exploded by Pearl, but Ren still gets a lot of bad vibes his way due to Martyns actions. At least he can still rely on Jimmy to be his friend and not burn his house down on accident.
Speaking of burning, good luck doing that now. The mound has officially been flattened, no longer teh Ren Mound it is now In-The-Little-Lake and has been flooded with water in a rare showcase of a Ren plan working and being a big brain move overall.
However, while creating the lake, the most important discovery was made
THEY FOUND THAT STUPID HORSE! WOOOOOOOOO
anyway.
The Tuff Guys (Tango, Bdubs & …Etho?)
Bdubs starts the episode being objectively wrong about a game he's played for decades.
Due to his bad leadership last session, Etho takes over and immediately starts try harding, requiring everyone to get stacks of food, iron, the souls of the damned and probably other stiff to tbh I wasn't listening. Luckily neither were Bdubs or Tango so we're good
Speaking of Tango, despite getting of to a rock start of sucking and being pathetic, he does manage to get two pretty impressive kills on Joel, once with a mace and another with creepers. He also manages to stick a snail on Skizz by botnapping him while he was distracted by his, Impy and Pearls robot voice. He failed every other single trap he tried but it's something.
Now, more important horse news, Bdubs got his!... Etho immediately killed it since it was better than his. But bdubs got a new one! He needed 3 people to help him on it since he acquired the big curse at the time but he got the horse!
While he wasn't being a try hard, horse killer, or stunt ramp, Etho was off performing a very important task, Betrayal! But is it betrayal if they openly admit they won't help you or share their stuff? Yep Etho has made moves to leave the Tuff Guys, being the second member to do so, only with more success than bdubs. So, did he go off to his family? Nope. He went off to become one of the Final Girls. Etho officially joins that team and all it cost them was a Trident. How will this go over with the Family and the Tuff Guys? Who knows. That's the growth thing about the life series: everything is stupid and nothing is predictable, so don't worry!
The Bamboozelers (Jimmy, Scar, Lizzie)
Everyone says these 3 are doomed… including me I said that. But we all are wrong, these 3 are being extremely big brained and brave.
Let's start with Lizzie, she helps the team come up with a safety code word to bring people back up the mountain. She braves the Nether. She builds an ender porter to bring people to Bam Mountain safely & she survives several attempts on her life, including one from Pearl. She only falls into two traps, being killed by Skizz and having her Bot hidden resulting in the return of her snail. She also had one failed plan, a Drowned spawner plan to get Trident Drowned to kill people for Jimmy, but not a bad showing.
It's a toss up between Gem, Joel and Impulse for who will win, but I'm gonna go all in and sat Lizzie wins, just because I want her too.
Then there's Scar who makes some great diplomacy plays. Despite a rocky start to their relationship that might have actually caused the desertduo side of tumblr to explode, Scar and Grian are able to work out a peace deal between them, Scar gets a mace and in exchange they don't kill each other. Scar gets a lot more than just a mace though, he gets what he's always wanted: Friendship.
He also manages to get the Enchanter back and finds a great hiding spot for it. On top of this Scar also strengthens pre existing alliances with Gem, Martyn and Skizz, even helping Skizz in a Fast Na Furious style boat race to reclaim his out bot.
OK, Jimmy… yeah tbh Jimmy kinda underperformed compared to last session. He got toured by trivia bot, died to the ravager instead of checking his hotbar for his pearls, failed repeatedly to kill Scott and also killed himself in Impulse's lava trap. He got no kills this session and all his traps failed. He did blow a massive hole in the side of the Final Girl's tower for no reason tho.
Gem, seeing this utter failure tried to help Jimmy kill Scott, only for him to sacrifice himself to Pearl. Now Jimmy is in the hard possession of killing his family or his teammate. But hey, as long as he isn't first out, he's won
And on that note…
The Spanners (Grian & Skizz.)
…Let's start with skizz. He was really good! He got a good kill on Lizzie and one on Bigb too. Bigb wasn't Dark green but he's certainly got the spirit. He should also be kept away from the Bam Lands from now on, he gets spotted there way too easily. Scar isn't even that observant, it's kinda embarrassing.
Skizz does also do some alliance work, vowing never to kill Lizzie again due to how much he hates doing it. Lizzie repays him by literally babying him and dumping him on Ren.
Then there's Grian, he and Mumbo were able to collaborate revenge on Scar, even though he was too big and Mumbo couldn't speak. They buried Scars Bot Super low and neither he now Ren could find it.
And than, somehow, eSCARgot returned.
Feeling bad for an incredibly cheap kill, Grian did work with Scar to set aside there differences and create an alliance. Now with revenge off the agenda, all that was left was getting Mumbo a life.
Grian built a great tower, and within it built two super speedy tnt launchers. These were incredible basketballs for destroying the tower bdubs spent all session building, but in terms of netting kills for Mumbo… not very good.
Mumbo fell off that tower trying to get a kill.
Mumbo, desperate for a kill, begged Gem to die.
And when Gem was walking down the stairs with Jimmy, Mumbo got too desperate.
Mumbo died in a machine made to save him. Mumbo died in front of grian. Mumbo died and everybody just watched. Hell, Jimmy celebrated. He laughed. Because now there was no denying the curse was broken.
Skizz will mourn all of the next session. Grian will not. He will be consumed by the Dark rage within him. Jimmy should watch his back…
Kinda like Mumbo should have watched his back for that minecart, Amiright?

Maybe for Fluff Friday. Any chance of seeing maybe y/n overworking herself to the point of exhaustion, forgetting to get her vaccines and ending up with the flu but insists on working through. Cue Natasha stepping in to take care of her to the surprise of the team since Nat’s been cold towards her ever since she joined the Avengers not long ago?
Holiday Spirit
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x Avenger! Reader (Platonic)
Summary: Christmas was approaching and with the stress of being an Avenger and trying to remember to keep up with things outside of work such as vaccinations, you became sick with the last person you thought would take it soon themselves to take care of you.
Warnings:Fluff/Comfort, No Warnings | 1.1K
AC:Something a little different for the holidays! Thank you for sending this 🥰
Holiday Special Masterlist
Tumblr media
It wasn't like you to forget to keep up with your vaccinations but this year just slipped through your fingers, apparently there were more aliens wanting to threaten earth than ever before. You were able to get most yearly vaccinations but missed one that you now wish you didn't forget.
With Christmas just a week away, you come down with the flu. Body aches, blocked nose, headaches, fever, sore throat, chills, congestion & fatigue all rolled into one, taking its toll on you, but you swore not to let it stop you from doing your job. Since joining the Avengers, you've worked your arse off in training and missions to prove yourself to the team. Everybody loved and trusted you, there wasn't any reason to prove yourself but you never felt like everybody was on board with you joining the team.
Natasha Romanoff, aka, Black Widow. She was rather cold towards you, sly looks thrown your way whenever you spoke up in mission briefings, barely taking to you whenever working together and would often leave the room shortly after you entered. Everybody told you that Nat just takes some time to warm up, to adjust to a new member and that she'd come around eventually but that was well over six months ago and you were sure the assassin just simply didn't like you.
You started your day with a hot mug of tea, something you always enjoyed better whenever you were sick, you had some oatmeal for breakfast before hitting the gym for a very slow and painful training session before taking a hot shower that felt like heaven on your aching body. Next it was time to catch up on a load of mission reports that you'd been too busy to get too, you made another tea and made yourself as comfortable as you could be in the compounds study.
It wasn't long until your eyes got heavy and you were struggling to keep your head up, weak and tired you began to feel how exhausted and burnt out your body was. Natasha had watched you all morning, following her eyes at your stupidity for not spending the day in bed. She noticed that you hadn't eaten since breakfast and decided to make you something.
"Since when did you cook something that wasn't microwaveable?" Clint asked when he saw Natasha stirring a large pot of soup on the stove. Nat rolled her eyes, "Y/n's sick" she replied. Clint frowned slightly, "so you're making them soup?" He asked.
"Soup helps, they're sick, pretty sure it adds up" the assassin spoke rather bluntly.
Clint quickly picked up that Nat wasn't open for discussion on the topic, she had never expressed her thoughts about you besides the fact she didn't think the team needed a new member but Clint knew that Natasha was impressed with your skills, she just wouldn't admit it.
"Okay, enough of that, get up" you heard Natasha's voice behind you.
"Huh? Oh, no, I have so much left to do" you replied, trying to shake the tiredness in your voice.
"You're not doing anybody any favours by working yourself to the ground. You're sick, you've got the flu. Let your body rest" she explained before placing a bowl of hot soup in front of you, "eat this then it's off to bed" she added. You felt rather confused on her odd behavior, why out of everybody did Natasha care that you were sick?
"Thanks Nat, I really appreciate this but I'm not really hungry" you slightly pushed the bowl to the side.
"You've barely eaten, this isn't up for discussion" Natasha replied sternly, her arms crossed over her chest. From what you could smell through your stuffy nose, the soup smelt delicious and made your stomach grumble. You looked up at Natasha who wasn't going to take no for an answer, grabbed the spoon and started eating.
The warm goodness hitting the back of your throat gave an almost instant relief to your swollen tonsils and it had just enough spice to it that you felt your nose begin to run. Natasha handed you a tissue and placed some cold and flu tablets on the table before taking a seat on the armchair in the corner of the room. She watched to make sure you eat everything you could that was in the bowl. Wiping your mouth on a fresh issue, you looked over to the redhead.
"Thank you, I guess I really needed that" you smiled softly.
"Your body needs rest, why are you fighting that?" Natasha asked.
"I've never left a silly cold get the better of me, besides I have things I need to catch up on" you explained but Natasha could see through your words.
"You've already earned your spot in the team y/n, you don't have to prove yourself" she spoke, your eyes dropped to the unfinished mission report in front of you.
"But I do" you replied, "to you, I do" you added. Natasha frowned at your honesty, "you have nothing to prove to me, not anymore"
Slowly, your eyes looked up at her trying to read if she was just saying that to make you feel better. "You've ignored everybody telling you to stay in bed and recover, you've ignored your body's need for rest, you put everything else before yourself. You work hard, you train hard, you don't leave anybody behind, for once, let somebody take care of you" the assassin went on.
"If I'm being honest, Nat, I've always felt like you don't like me or even what me on the team" you replied before blowing your nose and downing two tablets, washing them down with water.
"Maybe it's just holiday spirit from all the decorations you and Wanda put up but, I don't hate you. I worried that maybe the team wasn't a good fit for you, that you could be off enjoying your life, but I was wrong and I'm sorry that I made you feel that way. Now will you please just go get some rest?"
Your eyes dropped back to the mission report once more, sighing as you felt defeat. "The reports will still be there when you're better" Natasha reminded you as she stood up, her hand reaching for yours, "I'm not taking no for an answer" she added.
——
"Whoever made this needs to make it again!" Steve commented before taking another mouthful of soup, Tony nodded in agreement.
"Nat made it for Y/n" Clint replied, cleaning one of his newly made arrows.
"Yeah right" Thor chuckled, Tony agreeing with him.
"Have you seen Y/n all afternoon?" Clint asked the others with a raised brow, they shook their heads, "Nat made them go to bed, she's out right now getting other things for them" the archer added.
"Sounds like Natasha finally found some holiday spirit" Wanda smiled softly.

SAVE YOUR BREATH — Armando Aretas [October Prompts] 🧡
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: This was inspired by the show FROM and this fic has a slight crossover with the show that I squeezed into this plot. I initially had no plans to take it further than a certain symbol. I was supposed to end it there (while also keeping this short) but I kept writing lol! If you haven’t watched you should for this season especially! Also loosely inspired by Midnight mass 🫣 & just know picking songs that fit the spooky vibe or fall aesthetic is also a job y’all 😆
S/N: If you’re a reader who’s been impacted by the hurricane(s) I hope you and your loved ones are safe during this difficult time! 🫶🏽
PROMPTS ARE FROM HERE & HERE + I’m using: "Give me one good reason not to kill you." "I'm immortal, so…it's actually not possible." + SCENARIOS — 6. Visiting an apple orchard.
SYNOPSIS: in which Armando wants to avenge your death but your attempts to make him let it slide, brings on a new level of danger he’s not all that prepared for.
🏷️: @violetmuses + @believeinthefireflies95 + @nobodygetsza
Giving Armando space wasn’t really effective since he can still feel you hovering, whether you were behind him lounging against the wall and slicing up some apples to eat while you kept quiet for the most part, or just you simply letting your ghost eyes chill through him.
He’s been on his computer for weeks and didn’t want any help. Any wink of sleep he got was not something he allowed on his own, he’s been functioning off caffeine and eye drops to keep him going trying to track down your killer. Mike’s been telling him to let him handle it, since there was a part of Mike that knew Armando would be back to his old ways, especially after losing you. Now that Mike was slowly building something with his son, he didn’t want Armando to throw it all away. Which definitely brought off heated energy because who was Mike Lowrey to tell Armando how to get justice? Armando had his mother to thank for that, even in death, she was still controlling his life. It has been months since he was on the run and since you played a part in his hiding, that meant you had to serve time, whereas Mike pulled a deal for Armando to work for AMMO that would amount up to the added time he needed to serve, You got the short end of the stick.
No shock there—and to make a long story short, you gave as good as you could in prison but Armando’s mother had it planned that if something were to ever happen to her, she had people that would take you out as well, since she had this unhealthy jealousy when it came to you and Armando.
Nothing ever become of you and Armando but she saw it before you two ever had the chance to fully explore.
So when Mike had to deliver the news of your passing, Armando felt like what was left of him died.
Your relationship with his mother was also very complex. Isabel Aretas was the one who stole you from your own family at just eight years old. Nothing Isabel did made logical sense, you would think that the one person that made your child happy, you would still want your child to have some sort of happiness so that they wouldn’t be alone right? Wrong. Isabel strived to be the only one in her son’s life, out of some unresolved issues and because your bond with Armando was also strong, she wanted to take that with her as well.
It took time but it happened.
In her mind, this would make Armando the deadliest kingpin there could ever be. It builds character, which was her excuse for masking her love as manipulation. When you got away from her, you wanted Armando out too but that resulted in many things with Isabel calling you a, “ungrateful bitch,” and Armando being too blind to see how Isabel was going to get them both killed.
She almost succeeded.
“I think you should just let this go, you’re able to start this new life now. Even if you hate it, maybe it’ll be worth it.” You tried to tell Armando, who wouldn’t bring his red eyes away from the screen.
His brows furrowed as he harshly clicked around on his mouse, “No. I won’t. I’m doing this for us.”
“It’s not going to bring me back.” You state, “Karma will get them one way or another.”
“I don’t have faith in that.”
But he had the answers!
“Well maybe you should have some faith in me.”
“Maybe if you minded your business, you wouldn’t be where you’re at.” Armando snapped, which caught you off guard.
You wouldn’t make excuses for him.
That was low and he knew it because his eyes clenched not long after those words escaped his lips. “I’m sorry—
A gush of wind was all that he heard, which means that you actually left him on his own. It was for a minute too, he kept calling out to you like a crazy person in his apartment as the days went on but you wouldn’t break. Sure he was persistent but you were also very stubborn and didn’t mind making him sweat it out.
There was no way he tried to shift his mother’s actions and deem them as your fault. She took you from your family as a child, causing an accident where you couldn’t remember the last eight years of your life—only the new image the Aretas’ built—killed your father instantly in that accident, left your mother in the hospital with a lengthy recovery just to worry herself into sickness and die not knowing if you were ever safe, made you believe you were living with the Aretas out of false pretenses, made everything so squeaky clean that for years you couldn’t find any true history of your past life, tried to mold you into her one of her many soldiers, continued to lie to about not only you but Armando’s upbringing, and gaslit the both of you once those truth’s came to light.
Isabel was taken out of the game first but at least you were able to go out with a smile on your face, Mrs. Aretas couldn’t say the same.
When you did return, it was when Armando found out the whereabouts of your killer. She was free from jail, ironically five months after your murder—the system pinned it on another inmate—and would be down at the apple orchard with her little family.
“Arman…this isn’t a good idea.” You appeared behind him, as he’s flicking the collar of his leather jacket up after sipping into it.
He scoffs, “Appearing from the shadows today? After you literally ghosted me? is rich I have to say.”
“And I had every right to. This vengefulness is making you sick, haven’t you learned this yet? What is it going to take for you to get it through your thick ass skull, huh?” You follow him as he opens the secret compartment in his room that contained all of his weapons.
You were positive Mike did not know about this stash. Armando probably shouldn’t have any of this kind of weaponry in this temporary home Mike had him set up in. Regardless, Armando was smart he wouldn’t just take these handouts since he knew they came at a cost and had numerous bunkers over the globe. If he wanted to be gone again, he could be.
“You need to get out of my way,” Armando says to you as you simply cross your arms after he comes back out with a case.
You tilt your head, “or what?”
With swiftness, Armando pulls a knife that looks awfully familar as he shoves it right underneath your chin, “Give me one good reason not to kill you.”
Flashing your pretty teeth at him with your arms still folded you respond, “I'm immortal, so…it's actually not possible. Is it genius?”
Armando blinks, “doesn’t mean it still won’t hurt?”
“…that’s the thing, you don’t want to hurt me. You want to hurt everybody else.” You reason, which proves to be right as Armando rolls his eyes before removing the blade from your cold skin.
Sighing Armando puts his back to you, “I really don’t have time for this.”
The sarcasm is heavy in your tone, “Sure but you have time to execute a murder in front of who knows how many people and children?”
“No need to worry,” Armando smirks, “I’m the better shooter anyway.”
Huffing you follow Armando as he starts making his way through the apartment, making sure he has everything before closing the door in your face. Of course you throw your hands up before walking right through the wall to follow the man down the hallway. If he was going to do this, then you were going to be right beside him trying to get him to change his mind before he actually got to the orchard.
It was funny really, Armando going to the one place you loved being. Something you could never explain, you always loved apples since you came into Armando’s life. Apple scented things, favorite fruit and snack were apples, loved baking anything that had to do with apples—not that you had that much time to do that either catching bodies and all but in your sprinkle of free time you did. This was only explained once you knew your background, that you weren’t from another place in South America but North. You had grandparents who owned a farm and were still looking for you after your parents passed.
Your parents were in debt to the wrong people.
The Aretas, so they took the one valuable thing and that happened to be you.
Now here you were not getting to enjoy the sights of the orchard because Armando was out for blood. In your honor. Past you who was just doing these things because you knew you could, would be proud but once you got away from the dark of this game, living the life you could have? Changed how you viewed the world. It drastically changed again once Armando Aretas showed up at your door.
“What are you looking to accomplish by doing this?”
Armando sighed as he opens the car door, “I went over this already.”
“Okay…so what are you going to tell Mike and Secada once they find out?” You inquire as you appear on the passenger side, “The first person they’re going to look for is you, you know that right?”
“I have an alibi.”
“Don’t say something lame like visiting my mausoleum all the way in Massachusetts…knowing you can’t leave the state alone.”
Armando goes quiet which lets you know that was exactly what he was planning on using. He hated having you be one step ahead of him and it showed. The blank expression he shot you, had you snorting into your hand and with a shake of your head you start to comment before Armando interupts.
“Save your breath.” Armando mutters
Moving the seatbelt with a sigh, so you can free your braids you say, “no, I don’t think I will. We went long enough not speaking after you disrespected me by playing the blame game.”
He briefly glances over at you, hand tightening on the wheel, he regretted saying that to you, “I didn’t mean any of it, amiga. I was in my head and when I’m in my head—
“You don’t listen,” you finish with a sharp nod, “which is why I’m telling you that this a bad idea.”
He blinks, “is that a immortal feeling or something?”
You laugh again, “I don’t…think that’s a thing? It’s just natural to not want you to end up, you know? Dead.”
“Appreciate that but the only way I get to move on, is if I do this.”
“Until something else feeds that desire to kill again.”
“We’re always going to be killers, though.” Armando replies, “whether you like it or not in death or life. That’s just what we were made to be.”
“And it’s sad that you can’t see that you can be much more than this.” You tell, “Maybe someday you’ll see that.”
Armando hums, “Are you supposed to be my guardian Angel?”
“Oh, I don’t know about that amigo.” You rest your head back against the headrest, “you did say we were killers and I don’t think murders get to hold angel status.”
“Icarus was a fallen Angel though.”
“Touché.”
A small silence falls over the car ride while being surrounded by the busy life style of Miami. To find quality farms required traveling a good distance so Armando appreciated the silence, to gather his thoughts together. He could have gotten there faster if he purchased another bike but he was very limited now being underneath everyone’s eyes.
With the way Armando drove, it felt like less than over an hour where the palm trees started to fade and the grass roads become more prominent. He’s getting off the exit and there’s a lot less traffic around this area, which worked in Armando’s favor since you knew he preferred to go for the silent kill but if it had to get rowdy he could handle that as well. If there were kids there, which you hoped there wouldn’t be many, you prayed that they would be leaving the site before Armando got into position.
“Would you look at that,” Armando pulls your attention away from the passenger window, “Lime green jeep gladiator, we’re just in time.”
You deeply inhale, sitting up in the passenger seat while Armando keeps his distance, “get the case ready.”
“No.”
The dark haired man with the thick facial hair cuts his eyes at you, “fine. Take the wheel, then.”
And his eyes told you not to argue with him, as he twists to the back of the vehicle to grab said item.
“There’s witnesses.” You state, letting go of the wheel as Armando plops the case right into your lap.
Armando nods, “I’ll aim for the tires, make it seem like they got a flat.”
“…do you know if their kid is with them?”
“I know how to aim,” he argues, moving one hand to the case in your lap to unlock for his gun of choice along with a silencer.
Which didn’t answer your question.
He’s getting ready to roll down his window, your eyes go into slits as a black Escalade cuts you two off. You hold onto the arm of the door as Armando tries to swerve to the right as the Escalade also break checks him.
“Arman,” you start, it’s a feeling that felt like the rolling of waves in the beginning of a storm but warm and you haven’t felt warmth in some time.
He’s slamming on breaks himself, that you feel your toes curl just waiting to slam into the gladiator. Yet the gladiator is off to the left in front of the Escalade that’s attempting to shield your view of the car.
“The hell?” Armando questions and you feel your breathing halt.
In front of you was a tree blocking the pathway to the orchard.
“T-This is it. This is what I tried to warn you of.” You say with shaky breath as you glance to meet Armando’s eyes.
There’s a furrow in Armando’s brows, trying to decipher what you were saying to him. He’s caught off guard by you as he’s yanked out of the driver’s side. You feel a pull to your right, which made you frown because why could you feel this touch when it didn’t belong to Armando?
You’re shoved to your knees beside Armando who’s trying to move the hands that hold him, away until a gun is placed to his temple. The doors to the gladiator are opened, revealing your killer and her wife, who quickly grabs hold of their five year old son.
“No. This isn’t right. I killed you.” She pointed at you, still keeping her distance behind what you and Armando believed to be her bodyguards.
Armando keeps his head still but his eyes move to peek at you.
“You can see me?” You whisper before looking around at your surroundings, “…we shouldn’t be here.”
Your killer laughs, “no, you shouldn’t.” She steps forward, eyes are harsh as she glared at you before shushing her partner while she moves in closer, “did you two come here to kill me and my family? Big mistake.”
Armando shakes his head while admitting, “not your family, just you.”
You wish you could have shushed him in this moment too.
There’s a film of gray that spills over the sky followed by the rustle of trees. You don’t feel safe and not just because everyone can suddenly see you now. Where you resided when you weren’t with Armando, allowed you to see many things you still couldn’t explain. Perhaps it took time to make sense and you didn’t have anyone that worked as a guide. In essence this was just like life.
No answers and just winging it.
However you’ve seen this scene plenty of times before. The getting stuck by a road blockage, always a large tree with vehicles trying to find a way around. It was a cycle before they arrived to the town.
“The town.” You inform causing all eyes to turn to you, “we need to leave, now.”
Your killer huffs, “you keep saying that. You want to leave so bad, here.”
And with that she snatched the gun from one of her bodyguards and aims right at you, firing the gun. At least for this death, you don’t even feel it but you can only imagine how traumatizing this must have been for Armando.

Waking with a deep gasp that feels as if it’s been punched into your chest, you jolt upwards.
“Whoa, you’re okay.” Armando’s voice is heard to the left of you, his hand rests on your thigh covered blanket.
Your eyes are wide while they connect with his dark ones.
A woman’s voice remarks next, “holy shit! You weren’t lying…and there’s no bullet wound, not even a scar.” Her thumb swipes over your forehead, which you slap away.
“Sorry.” She raised her hands in surrender, “I should introduce myself, I’m Kristi. Armando brought you here in hopes that you’d come back to life. He uh, proved me wrong about you being dead since apparently you were already dead?”
You flick your eyes back to Armando who takes hold of your hand and that’s when you notice they’re stained, “that’s right…”
A click of a gun is heard next, making all eyes turn to a dark skinned man in a blazer.
Not this again!
“Boyd! I don’t think that’s necessary.” Kristi tries to reason.
Boyd scoffs, “I think it is. Sure we get visitors but not ones like her. So you’re gonna tell me the truth and not what I want to fucking hear, are you one of those things because I’ve been waiting to trap one?”
Armando quickly moves to stand in front of the bed, blocking this Boyd guy’s view of you, “Even if she was whatever you’re accusing her to be, why would she tell the person that has a gun pointed at her?”
“That’s fair,” Boyd shrugs, “we just like to have some sort of answers in this fucked up town.”
“Join the club,” you laugh, “since I died, nothing has made much sense. And now I’m back alive or at least somewhat? In this place I’ve only had visions of?”
Boyd starts to lower his gun and shares a glance with the wavy haired woman, who introduced herself as: Kristi.
“…I think we have a lot to discuss before we let you two freely roam the town.”
Armando glances at you from over his shoulder as he speaks, “the town…is that the official name of this depressing looking place?”
“It’s easier to call it as such.” Kristi informs.
Armando realizes that you’re more connected than you let on.
“Sorry about this,” Boyd says as he cuffs Armando who’s confused, “we found some bodies that don’t belong here, along with a young boy who needs looking after, and it’s obvious you were all together and involved in some shit. So I’m going to have to separate you two while we get some more information.”
“Are you fucken serious?” Armando gruffs, “we’ll talk, we have nothing to hide but it seems like you dumbasses do.”
“Yeah alright, wise guy.” Boyd roughly turns Armando around, “I’ll be back before night falls to have a chat with you.” He explains as he shortly looks at you before turning to Kristi, “Make sure she doesn’t leave your sight.”
Armando snickers, “good luck with that, my amiga walks through walls for fun.”
Only that was something you understood, a small smile appearing on the corner of your lips as Boyd and Kristi share a frown, before Boyd leads Armando away from your sight.
“Don’t worry, Armando is in good hands with the sheriff.”
You snort, “that actually exists in this make believe place?”
Kristi pulls up a chair beside you, pulling her stethoscope from around her neck, “unfortunately this place isn’t just in your head.”
A growl rips through your stomach just as she’s scooting forward to listen to your heartbeat and breathing, “When’s the last time you’ve eaten?”
“Immortals don’t really get to eat. We just taste.” You answer.
Kristi nods and pushes back, disappearing behind a curtain for a moment before returning with a piece of a fruit, “Well try this for a change.”
You take the apple from her and wipe it against your sweater with slight laughter. Holding the red fruit towards the light, you bring it to your lips and take a bite. The crunch is almost as satisfying as its taste and your eyes close while you chew. “Honey crisp?”
“I…actually don’t know.” Kristi says, “Food has just gotten better around here…But something tells me I should trust your instincts.”
You smile and breathe in as Kristi places the tool against your chest before moving to your back.
“Tell me something…I have a feeling that your boyfriend—
“Save your breath if you’re trying to hint at shooting your shot at him.” You dismiss.
It’s Kristi’s turn to laugh, “oh no…um…just trying to make conversation. And my fiancée actually works here with me. She’s doing inventory but you’ll probably see her later since I’ll be hiking sometime tomorrow.”
You nod, “Hiking? Armando and I aren’t really hiking people. We grew up in Mexico City where rural wasn’t what we were really used to but he wanted to go to the apple orchard today.”
Kristi hums, “doing some good ol’ apple picking huh? Never would have guessed.” She finished with a laugh.
“Guess we can be full of surprises.”
Kristi sits back in the chair, “you can say that again…there’s no heartbeat when I listen to your chest but there’s a sound when I listen to your back.”
“A sound?” You press.
“Like…a whirling sound?”
You tilt your head to the side, which makes Kristi stand and hand you the end of the tool to place into your ears, raising one arm so the wire can travel underneath your arm, she stretches the stethoscope to place at your back.
“Breathe in for me.”
You do.
“Then out and listen,” Kristi continues to instruct.
Following through again, you exhale all the way out awaiting the sound. The whirling sound, that sounds like wind in a snowstorm. A force against the quiet that has no thudding like a normal heart would and it’s so eerie that you know Kristi can’t explain it either.
Taking another bite from the honeycrisp, you continue to listen while you breathe as you normally would and it’s still there every time you exhale. The season you left behind was autumn in a humid climate, you originally passed in late spring, and now as you got into the town and from what you can see from the window, winter was approaching.
Perhaps your heart was the timer for this town?
“Well…” you say around chewing, “either we’re going to be clueless for a while or I’m going to be answer to saving everybody’s lives. Let the party begin, chica!”
Kristi takes the medical device back and plops back down in the chair, offering a small smile. She didn’t know you yet or the guy you came here with but part of Kristi felt like maybe things will start to become a little bit clearer.
So she saved her breath and hoped.
How much more hope can someone have in a place like this?

Back at the station, Boyd is pacing in front of the jail cell he’s holding Armando in.
Boyd summarized, “So you kill people for a living?”
“I did.” Armando’s monotone was off putting as he sat comfortably in the jail cell.
Boyd shakes his head and corrects, “you do. You stopped for a little bit because you had no other choice but then relapsed at the sake of your…your girlfriend? Wife? Fiancée?
“My family.” Armando rectifies while Boyd didn’t see the difference or really need the specifics.
“Are you some sort of serial killer?” Boyd quizzes, finding Armando demeanor to be too at ease.
“No. I’m many things but that.”
Boyd’s eyes are in slits as he spits out, “Are you unalive too because there’s no way you didn’t get injured while taking four people out?”
Armando raises his hand, “just more blood to scrub. The real person we should be worried about is her. I told you she was murdered in prison months ago and has been haunting me ever since. Now we get to some fucken fallen tree in the road and everybody but me can see her? That sound right to you, sheriff?”
Boyd laughs, “oh you’re gonna learn very quickly that nothing in this town is right.”
“She said she had visions of this place before in spurts.” Armando reveals with his elbows digging into his knees, “And how she never wanted to be here, how she feared that once I didn’t need to see her anymore this is exactly where she would end up. That some type of power was telling her this would be her eternity and I guess mine too if I didn’t get my shit together.”
“W-what does that mean? If you died? We’re not dead. She maybe but we’re not.”
“How do you know?”
“There’s gotta be missing signs of us. People looking for us. We’ve all been gone too long for there not to be.” Boyd mumbled to himself but Armando feels as if he isn’t too sure.
If that is the case, then that means Mike is probably losing his shit right about now.
Armando inhales and sits back, “looks like we got a lot to learn about each then, right sheriff? And I think the first person you actually want to start with…is her.”
Boyd doesn’t doubt that since Armando didn’t hold anything back. He quickly learned that the man was in his late twenties, had heavy resentment for both of his parents, especially the one he just learned was actually his parent and was now stuck working with him to pay for his crimes, which he’s been trained to basically be a killer with the friend beside him, and had no issue turning back into that person but was it worth it?
“Why do I feel like you’re about to throw her under the bus? If she’s family then why stab her in the back?”
Armando shrugs his shoulders, “It’s not stabbing when you do research and hold your cards close. I know what she is but I don’t know much about this place, only she does. Which is why I’m telling you, you need to let me out of this cage if you know what’s good for you.”
Boyd held Armando’s stare and it only took a few moments for him to believe a complete stranger, which is not something he usually did.
⁺‧₊˚ ཐི⋆♱⋆ཋྀ ˚₊
When they get back to the clinic, they’re greeted at the door by Kristi who waves them in with a finger to her lips. A frown appears on Boyd’s face as he stops by the door while Armando pushes his way by. He stops at the doorway where a blonde reaches for his shoulder to stop him.
From where they stand, he can see you sleeping on your side. Apple rind fallen from your fingertips, as a white as snow singular wing is arched up and out from your shoulder.
“That’s new and I don’t get out much.” The blonde whispers from Armando’s left.
He folds his arms and turns to meet Boyd and Kristi’s eyes with raised brows.
‘Told you so,’ is written all over his face as he moved to step into the room but the blonde, who touched him again tries to get him not to move any further.
He looks at her hand and then at her face.
She suggests, “I think we should give her some space. Until she’s alert and we see how she reacts, if it’s still out.”
“Marielle’s right, That’s not a bad idea.” Kristi observes.
Armando shrugs Marielle’s hand from him, “how long has she been like that? She normally doesn’t sleep…because she can’t.”
“Not long.” Kristi tells as she glanced at Boyd whose face held complete stress, “Maybe we should get Kenny down here or even Sara?”
Boyd immediately shakes his head, “No to Kenny. We don’t need to bother him right now, we can handle it.”
“You don’t know that, sheriff.” Armando disagrees with a humorless laugh.
“Well, thanks for your load of fucking confidence, Armando.”
“I’m just saying.” Armando leans against the doorway, eyeing you again while crossing one leg over the other, “we…mainly her might have just changed the entire game.”
Boyd clenched his fist and stalked out of the clinic to swing at the air and let out a string of curse words.
Armando rolls his head to look at the two women who peer at the direction where the sheriff walked off too. It was so quiet over here that everyone heard his frustrations.
“Is he always like that? And he’s a sheriff? You might need to check his blood pressure.” Armando mentions while Marielle shakes her head at him and Kristi rolls her eyes.
“You’re strangely calm about this, guy with the bloody hands. You should clean that up by the way.” Marielle says.
Armando unfolds his hands to look at the stains and moves into the main area in search of a sink. “Someone’s got to learn how to not lose their shit and I have a hunch that it’s not that many people around here.”
Kristi defends Boyd, “Okay Mr. Calm, we’ll see how long that lasts once you see what the night brings.”
Armando gives a wicked smile to the two women as he shakes out his damp hands, “I’ve seen plenty in my twenty-eight years and I’ve never been afraid of the dark.”
And with that he moves, despite Marielle’s protest, to sit right beside you, almost keeping guard of you this time around.

You were tired. You always were now that you knew you were dying. The doctor said at least a year but they were too enthused; lying to you, because it was only two months since then and you knew very well that the day you die is here.
And now — You wanted to talk to your wife, to get to maybe share one more dance beneath the stars but she wasn't available. She hadn't been for awhile, before you stopped running from your fate. The drinking started a month before, the lying and constant evasion came next. Natasha was mad at you, and you were dying. Dying to know why, dying to hear her say I love you one last time, but, she was dying to strangle you, to take you before the cancer.
——
Dying to know why, and as she laid on the couch with a puddle of beer staining the carpet you told her, "There's never a right time to say goodbye my dear, and I hope you'll forgive me in due time for leaving you this way." Forgive you for what? She'll never know because she was too drunk to hear you verbalize what she already knew was in your heart (and lungs).
Cancer took you and the world mourned first.
Natasha woke up to the deafening silence. Not even the birds were singing. The dead leaves not falling, and you weren't answering her pleas. Natasha crumbled to her knees beside the bed. Her guilt laced grief rattling through the cracks in the walls she'd recklessly built.
The bright leaves fell then. As did your limp hand from hers when she felt the chilled skin.
The redhead stumbled from your room and sent Yelena a text, "Izvini." (Sorry). Then she returned with a poisoned bottle of whiskey.
Natasha failed to love you like she solemnly promised (vowed). She let grief consume her. The waste of time drinking started the moment that she knew you were leaving her behind. It wasn't the actuality—the cruel world taking you—nope, it was you, breaking a sacred promise.
To stay with her til the end, hers; not yours.
How could you take her lifeline away? Then actually expect her to breathe right some day?
Natasha wouldn't give you that satisfaction.
You neglected yourself for the sake of her for years. Not complaining of pain when she was met with financial problems after Tony died and his estate froze the Avengers funds until they could unveil his final will and testament.
During the blip she was running out of money every time she thought she stood a chance at bringing you back; you, who was already sick.
A daughter lost her father, a wife her husband. Millions were brought back from extinction, surely it counted for something, but what did all of the sacrifice mean if she lost you too?
Her mind plays a loop of every time you'd coughed while you were on the run with her. Never near a hospital long enough to tell her that something was wrong, because you would never risk losing her to Ross as you got cured.
She would have turned herself in to Tony for him to swear to it you were covered. The man loved you enough to put differences aside, and Ross wasn't stupid enough to let you die.
Natasha would have survived because she would have gotten you back eventually. She was well known for her ability to make herself disappear and return when the time is right.
Timing was always tough for you two. Like when you missed the first date because you saw someone in need and tended to them instead.
You felt peace for a glorious few seconds.
Then once you realized you blew the redhead off you ran around the city on a mission. It started with you getting wine, then a pizza and ended with you pleading with the owner of the flower shop to unlock the door, and then once more pleading with a fist at Nat's front door.
You knocked, and knocked until she opened. You handed her the smushed up tulips in a rash wave of anxiety and she spluttered the petals from her lips and stared at you blankly. Green eyes holding a grudge against her perfect match, a foolish wager to take a chance on.
Natasha's anger nearly blew it, but you beat her with your rushed words: "I'm sorry for missing our date Natasha. I love pasta, and you too."
Natasha's eyes widened and you shrugged with a playful smile. "Surprise if you didn't already know! It was unrequited love in the start babe," you reminded her and she pouted. You flashed her an even dreamier smile, "But it worked out in the end," and teased her with a smug wink.
"It did, didn't it?" Natasha smiled and planned to kiss you breathless, to seal the deal of your hearts greatest desires. Then you ruined it.
Well, at least partially... Halting her game.
"I don't actually apologize though, because I couldn't leave that little boy crying beneath the dimmed streetlights of a ruthless city. He clung to me before I even saw him, so I put on my hero cap and helped him to find his mother."
Natasha's dagger eyes twisted into hearts.
"After four blocks of searching I heard her calling for Dylan, the little stinker lifted his head and cried. His mother was on me in an instant and only refrained from punching me when she saw I was an Avenger. If it were me I still would've swung. But she didn't. Only took a photo then thanked me in a rush to fame."
Natasha watched you in amusement as your face revealed your thoughts first, you scoffed humorously at that, it was just peculiar to you because: "If you share that story, all you are saying is 'I'm the mom who lost sight of my toddler in the streets of a devious New York.'"
You went to catch your breath, but the redhead needed you to stop blabbing, so she pulled you into a kiss that took your next to last breath.
Then she had to go and silence you to never have to face the ramifications of the true last breath. It left your lips while she slept in torment, her dreams were always cruel now.
As she took the last sip she sighed, because at this time she'd be escaping the wake up call.
Natasha shed a relieved tear, her dulled eyes closed and the empty bottle in her hand slipped onto the ground and shattered. The birds cried and the trees stood barren. The sun that just rose eventually set. Your lifeless bodies connected like lovers unlike they'd been prior.
That doomed night, the angels and birds sang in a practiced symphony; a whiskey lullaby.
The world lost two more heroes in the aftermath. Everyone mourned, Yelena buried you both beneath the willows, and cried as she yelled at you two for being so selfish. Laura clung to the blonde because now she was down a husband and sisters, by blood and marriage.
Yelena gave into the reality that this was all the family she had left. Losing the same sisters left them bonded now, in a morbidly unfair way.
It was frivolous really, to grieve the loss instead of celebrate the conquered life. They cry out; but to a void, neither of you could hear the mourning; eternally booked and busy.
Too busy rejoicing in your afterlives together.
Natasha got a second chance at loving you.
She'd found you in a field, out of breath from all the racing to get to you, but also because you were glowing brighter than ever before. Wearing a vivacious smile and looking pretty.
Much like when she found you earth-side she crumbed to her knees, sobbing. But this time her tears were a mix of bitter joy. You quickly shushed her though, and pulled her to her feet and right into a deep, meaningful kiss. It was free of sin, but the deviants would get off to it in a porno because they'd feel the authenticity.
The love was palpable and renewed. She cried into your mouth but you continued smiling.
"I'm sorry," Natasha whispered into the warm skin of your neck. Not like blood pumping beneath skin, but more so a sensational bliss. "I ruined our happy ever after moya lyubov'."
"Don't be sorry Natasha," you refuted her while spinning her around by your grip on her hips. Forcing her to see the dreams you shared in front of her. Day flashed to night and you spun her around beneath the light of the moon.
When you finally stopped spinning her she fell into your arms in a graceless way she detested. Her brows furrowed once again but you kissed her lips and devilishly distracted her mind. Pulling away you gasped, then smiled so soft that she finally deemed this moment reality.
You were her angel always, but you were finally free of the cruel restraints of a limited world. Natasha jumped and you caught her, she wrapped her arms around your neck, her legs mirroring them around your waist. You pecked her lips then said: "We lived that life full of regrets, always forgiving, but unable to forget. Let's save the now for absolution, we're free."
"In paradise baby," Natasha cheered and the sun set. Then it rose without conditions, and you lived out your dreams with your lover.
Eternity was kind to you, oh the places your love could've gone if only life had been too.

Avengers incorrect quotes?!
Steve: You disgust me.
Clint: *eating a kitkat sideways* I realize this and don’t care.
Thor: I will send my army to attack! Thor: *releases a dumpster of raccoons*
Thor: You know, there's something weird going on with your face? Natasha: What? Thor: You’re smiling! I didn't know you could do that?
Natasha: I’m never donating blood ever again. Natasha: The second you walk through the door, it’s just one invasive question after another! Natasha: ‘Where did you get it?’ 'Why is it in a bucket?’ I mean, do you want it or not?
Steve: What can therapy do for me that screaming in my car for 30 minutes can’t?
Bruce: There's nothing worse than people using big words they don't understand. Steve: I photosynthesize with this.
Clint: We have a problem. Steve: Let me guess, you caused it? Tony: Gimme a sec, I'm not drunk enough to listen to this yet. Bruce: And it's another Tuesday, your point? Natasha: Would shooting you solve this problem? No? Then shut up. Thor: If you mean the fire, that's our solution to last week's problem.
Thor: If this plan goes down the drain, where should we regroup? Bruce: The afterlife, I guess.
Bruce: I'm gonna need a human skull but you can't ask why. Clint: Only if you also don't ask why. Clint: *pulls four pristine human skulls out of his bag* Bruce: ... Bruce, grabbing a skull: This one will do.
Bruce: Throw lamps at people who need to lighten up, and throw handles at someone who needs to get a grip! Clint: Throw a refrigerator at someone who needs to chill! Tony: Throw scissors at someone who needs to cut it out! Steve: Throw a clock at someone who needs to get with the times! Natasha: Throw matches at someone who needs to get fired up! Thor: Throw a brick at someone to kill them.
Bruce: If you got arrested what would be the charges? Tony: Theft. Thor: Disturbing the peace. Steve: Aggravated assault. Natasha: Arson. Clint: All of the above. In that order, probably.
Tony: Are you trying to give me a fucking aneurysm? Natasha: Pretty sure we all are. Bruce: I wasn't. Thor: I was. Steve: I was trying to stop them, for your consideration. Clint: I just cause aneurysms naturally.
Bruce: Go and tell Tony why you insisted on putting a normal-sized carrot in a bag of baby carrots. Clint: Bruce: Do it, tell him what you told me earlier. Clint, stuttering: I-it's because... th-they need adult supervision... Tony:
Tony: Your smile? It makes my day. Pepper: Your happiness? I live for that. Natasha: A room? Get one. Thor: Hotel? Trivago.
*The Squad is on a hike* Natasha: It’s beautiful out here. Steve: And quiet. Tony: Too quiet. Clint: Did we lose someone? *cut to Thor with a bear in a headlock*
*Something crashes* Tony: Shoot- Steve: *running into the room in a panic* WHAT FELL?! Thor: *walking by the room calmly* What died?
Kidnapper: I have one of your friends. Tony: Which one? I have seven. Kidnapper: The loud, annoying, rowdy one who never shuts up. Tony: Which one? I have seven. Clint, distantly: HEY!!!
Thor: I wasn't injured that badly. The doctor said all my bleeding was internal, that's where the blood's supposed to be!
Bruce: I hate taking off my glasses, because without them, my vision goes from Full HD all the way down to buffering at 240p and I just can't handle that.
Thor: I WOULD DESTROY THE WORLD FOR YOU GUYS! Bruce: Okay, can you do the dishes? Thor: No!
*at a zoo* Thor: What are they in for? Steve: Thor, this isn't prison. Thor: So they can leave? Steve: No, but- Thor, pointing at a meerkat: I bet that one murdered someone.
Bruce: I just want someone to take me out. Natasha: On a date? Clint: With a sniper gun? Thor: Both if you're not a coward.
Thor, Clint & Bruce: *screaming* Natasha: *runs into the room* What's wrong, Bruce?! Thor: Wait, why are you asking Bruce that when Clint and I are also here? Natasha: Because Bruce wouldn't scream unless it's an emergency. You two scream whenever you have the chance.
*Squad reactions to being told ‘I love you’* Thor: Thanks fam! Clint: Oh no. Bruce: *cries* I love you too. Natasha: Sounds fake, but okay. Steve: *A flustered mess* Tony: Can I get a refund?
Thor: *trying to buy a Father's Day card for Odin at Hallmark* Thor: Excuse me, do you have any that just say "You are my dad?" Associate: Well, I- Thor: How about "You impregnated my mother?" Associate: No... Thor: You know what, I'll just get a blank one. Thor: *writes* You are a father. This is a day. Here is a card.
Steve: Accidentally indulged in too much ‘free time’, turns out I've been reported missing for over sixty years and presumed dead by most local and national authorities.
Clint, bleeding out on the ground: Blood loss? No, I know exactly where it is.
Thor: What did you order this morning? Bruce: What do you mean? Thor: I heard you answer the door, and I sensed food.
Clint: .. .----. -- / … --- .-. .-. -.-- (translation: I'M SORRY) Natasha: What's that? Clint: Remorse code. Natasha: I'm even angrier now.
Bruce: Synonyms are weird because if you invite someone to your cottage in the forest, that just sounds nice and cozy. But if I invite you to my cabin in the woods you’re going to die. Tony: My favorite is explaining the difference between a butt dial and a booty call. Clint: It’s called connotations. Steve: Try this one on for size, “Forgive me, Father, I have sinned” vs “Sorry, Daddy, I've been naughty." Natasha: Great news! Language is now banned!
Loki: Twilight Sparkle was the main character because she represented the element of friendship— Clint, tied up: PLEASE, I JUST WANT TO SEE MY FAMILY AGAIN! Loki: I'M NOT DONE! Loki: And Rainbow Dash was the sporty girl—
Natasha: I’d kill someone if you asked me to. Steve: I’m pretty sure you’d kill someone even if I didn't ask you to.
Tony: Hoodie pockets are so great. I can fit like three sandwiches and a grenade in there and my hands are still warm.
Clint: We need a distraction. Steve: Is anyone here good at jumping up and down and making weird noises? Thor, whispering: My time has come.
Steve: Do you have a bobby pin? Natasha: Yeah. *searches in her hair* Natasha: Oh, no, wait. I’m not a nine-year-old girl.
Bruce: New challenge! Don't say stupid shit for 24 hours!
Bruce: So oxygen went on a date with potassium, it went... OK. Tony: I thought oxygen was dating magnesium, OMG. Bruce: Actually oxygen first asked nitrogen out, but nitrogen was all like NO. Clint: I thought oxygen had that double bond with the hydrogen twins. Natasha: Looks like someone's a HO. Tony: NaBrO. Steve: I'm done with all of you!

Neighbors - Doll & Nerd
Song: Wink & a Smile - Harry Connick Jr
Tumblr media
Zhelaniye, Rzhavyy, Semnadtsat, Rassvet, Pech...
Desire, Rusty, Seventeen, Dawn, Oven...
Bucky wakes with his heart racing & trying to break free from his chest. Not recognizing his surroundings initially sends him into a panic. Sitting up, he does realize he's not in a Hydra lab, strapped to a cold metal chair. Slowly he realizes he's still in your apartment. The living room is dark except for the light coming from your room. He swipes at the sweat breaking out across his forehead, trying to steady his breathing. He hears you softly singing a song he doesn't recognize, but just the sound of your voice grounds him.
The light in your eyes You're so far away from yesterday Together, with a wink and a smile We go together, like a wink and a smile
He can't help but be drawn to your room. The door is open and he props himself in the doorway. You have fairy lights draped around the perimeter of your room. Just the sight of you eases his nightmare riddled mind. No Nazi soldiers spitting out his trigger words. Just a beautiful woman laying on her stomach across her bed, singing to herself and...coloring?
Bucky clears his throat & you quickly turn to him, "Buck."
He slowly enters your room, "I'm a horrible guest." Embarrassment laces his voice. "Why didn't you wake me?" Angling his head to see what you were coloring.
Sitting up, you turn the book to him. "It helps me de-stress. When i concentrate on coloring, the other stuff can't bother me." He looks a little pale & it has you worried. You stand, cradling his cheek in your palm, "You were exhausted. I thought you could use the sleep."
He covers your hand with his, turning to kiss your palm. His stubble tickles. He gives you a smile, "I...I better head out."
You pout, "Ok." You follow him back out to the living room. He grabs his shoes from the front door & walks back to your window. You give him a weird look.
"I don't have my key. I left through my window." You laugh & he shrugs. "Thank you for dinner & giving me a second chance." Patting his pocket with his phone, "I have your number now."
He pushes up your window, throwing a leg over the sill. You stand beside him to lock the window after he leaves. Bucky turns back to you, snaking his hand to the nape of your neck to pull you down into a kiss. Your eyes widen in surprise, and he smiles. The Vibranium makes you break out in chills. His soft lips capture yours, his tongue sweeps into your mouth. His thumb strokes your throat & you moan into his mouth. Bucky gently bites your lower lip before he ends the kiss. You feel a smile on his lips as he slowly pulls away. His thumb moves from your throat to rub the sting from your bitten lip, "Good night, Doll."
"G'night, Bucky."
*****
The next day, Sam helps Bucky move the rest of his stuff from Avengers Tower to his new apartment. "You know, you didn't have to move out. You're welcome to stay at the Tower."
"I'll be back if you need me for missions. I...I just...I need my own space."
Sam understands Buck's need for solitude. Staying at Tower & having Tony around could get awkward. He was worried that Bucky would get too isolated.
On one of their trips down to the truck, you bump into them in the hallway. You try not to get flustered, but that's Falcon! In your building! You give them a quick smile. "Doll," Bucky says to get your attention.
"Nerd." He softly laughs as you let yourself into your apartment.
Sam continues to stare at Bucky & the smile slides off his face, replaced by the infamous frown. "What?"
"Nerd??"
Bucky rolls his eyes, "She thinks I'm a nerd."
Nodding vigorously, "And she's right. But when I call you nerd, I don't get - ," batting his lashes at him.
"Cut it out."
"She's cute! What's her name? You should definitely ask her out." Bucky stays silent. "Wait! You already went out with her?? You dog!" Sam punches Bucky's arm.
"She performs at this club..."
"She's a stripper?!" Looking back at your apartment door.
"What?! No!" Bucky glares at Sam, but he shrugs and lets Bucky continue. "Its a supper club. She sings 30s & 40s music. We had dinner afterwards."
"There you go! It's a sign."
"It's not a sign."
"Of course, it's a sign," Sam says confidently. "Are you going out again?
"We got called out on that mission. I didn't have time."
"Well, you need to set that up."
Bucky shakes his head, but he knows he's going to. There's something about you that Bucky can't get enough of.

💙 hi and welcome to my ted talk about the latest episodes of what if, please read through (3) 💙
First of all. Why is season 2 so...happy?
I'm not complaining. Marvel has enough sad stories for a lifetime, but I found that, instead of exploring demises, we're now seeing victories. Old villains find their insight and become heroes (Hela, Nebula, Gamora) and lives are influenced for the better, earlier on (Peter Quill, Bucky, Hope).
It might be nothing.
But I think it's something.
You know what season 2 of what if comes right after? Season 2 of Loki. And, as you'll see at the end of this post, their colors are making themselves known.
Could it be that, from his throne, Loki got sick of watching sad stories and seeing worlds die? There is a chance, I don't know how plausible, but there is, that he's influencing all that we saw this season. A little hope here, a little time there, and, using their free will, everyone gets a second chance.
That, or Uatu felt bad for us and wanted to gift us in honor of New Year being in 1-2 days. Do tell me if you have additions on that.
If I had to bet on something, it would be the overall fan reaction to the opening scene. I screamed, yes. Did they expect us to see Loki's name there in the subtitles and be totally chill about it?
"To be or not to be, that is the question"
Tumblr media
I can totally see Tom having this idea for the opening scene: just Loki reciting Hamlet, and altough to his brother's bordedom, acting from Shakespeare. And it was the best idea he could have.
It's a missable detail, but Thor mentions Mjölnir! And you know how? As a gift...for Loki!
He responds to that with "I...have misplaced it" which is, yeah, typical, but how do you just lose Mjölnir, Loki? The idea, however, is that he'd be able to lift it, which I would have loooved to see on screen. But this was fun to have too.
And the response to Captain Carter's "You're a bigger drama queen than your brother" (talking to Thor)?? 😭
"Blessed"
Tumblr media
Can we also point out how insane it is that after just being stripped from her home in an unknown world, Peggy still wanted to help?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She not only has a hero's soul, she is that brave as to turn down The Watcher's warnings and offers to take her back safe. And remember, not everyone can hear Uatu as he narrates. But she can, sometimes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"What if, what if, what if. I have to try."
"Not on my watch"
This ambition of hers, is, of course, given by her humanity too. But that's not only a bad thing. The Watcher's all knowing, his experience of seeing worlds die everyday, has made him unsensible (from our point of view). That's not the case for Peggy.
Amidst all her adventures, however, perhaps she's also searching to avenge the love she lost, searching for her happy ending. In the movie Endgame, I have to admit she felt optional, like Steve wasn't meant to be there with her. But not now.
Tumblr media
I wish The Watcher told her she has a happy ending somewhere.
I don't know about you, but this episode...is my favourite ever from the series. It used to be the Strange Supreme one, but that's on the second place of the podium now.
We got to see queen Hela, drama prince/ actor Loki, king Thor. Bucky, NOT the Winter Soldier, and Steve, finally on the same page! Scarlet Witch!! Using her powers for good, not corrupted. All of them in cool costumes too. If things like these were on live action, I'd lose my f- mind, if I haven't already. :))
And now the green. The "rifts" that are tearing this world apart are very familiar in color.
Tumblr media
And this is not the only thing that's turning green, when it used to be multi-colored. The prism, too, the one from which The Watcher watches and narrates. And I'm not talking about the Time Stone. I'm talking about the tree of life, and how it might actually have a serious impact over everything. I mean, does Uatu know anything? And what was that decorated Yggradsil in the trailer, before the holidays?
Nevertheless, I think it's related in some way, and if it's not, don't blame me. I really like green.
That being said, thanks for reading <3

Changes in Attitude
This is a fill for today’s @flashfictionfridayofficial  prompt [#FFF272 Change Of Tone] as well as the  September WinterIron Gets it Done Classic_1 Tower and  Author_3  500 Word Ficlet  squares.
Fandom: MCU/Marvel Rating: General Pairing:  Tony Stark & Bucky Barnes Tags:  Avengers Tower,  Post Captain America: Winter Soldier canon divergence, Forgiveness, Developing Friendship Summary:  When Steve brings Bucky Barnes to the Tower; Tony has a lot to work through.  But who would know better than him that a weapon has no choice as to where it is aimed? Word Count:  512
Tony had definitely wondered at first whether it had been a good idea to allow Steve to bring his best buddy to stay at Avengers Tower.  Especially after they’d discovered – thanks to JARVIS’ work combing through the massive SHIELDRA data dump - that it was the Winter Soldier and not a car accident that had killed Howard and Maria Stark.
But through that same source,  Tony also had ample evidence of what had been done to James Buchanan Barnes to make him into the Fist of Hydra.  The dispassionate descriptions of Zola’s  ‘experiments’ had made bile rise in his throat,  and seeing the schematics of the equipment they used to ‘reset’  the Soldier sent a chill down his spine.  Besides,  Tony knew perhaps better than anyone that a weapon has no choice as to where it is aimed or who it harms.
That said, he had figured it was best to keep his distance while he worked through everything.  Barnes had made that easy enough, at least at first – barely leaving Steve’s suite  for the first couple of weeks.  And even then, when he ventured out, it was always as Cap’s shadow, barely speaking or making eye contact with anyone, much less Tony.
But then there was one late night when it seemed neither of them could sleep, meeting up by chance in the communal Avengers kitchen.  Barnes immediately started backing away and apologizing; his reaction spurring Tony’s impulsive  nature.
“Cool your jets, Sarge.” Tony said through a yawn; too tired to overthink the situation.  “This is neutral territory, after all.  How about some  symbolic breaking of the bread?” He turned to the large chest freezer.    “There should be some ice cream in here, unless Barton beat us to it.  Grab a couple of bowls from the cabinet, would you?”
“Okay,” Barnes responded dubiously, but did as Tony had asked, setting them on the counter.
Tony retrieved  a couple of containers from the freezer and set them down as well.  “Looks like we’ve got french vanilla, fudge ripple, and strawberry.  Pick your poison.”
“Strawberry sounds good. Thanks.”   Barnes’ voice was rough, either from sleep or possibly disuse.
Tony grabbed two spoons out of the drawer in front of him and handed one over. “Help yourself. I’m a choco-holic myself.”   He watched as Barnes scooped out the ice cream, his prosthesis making a discordant grinding.  “Is it supposed to sound like that?” he blurted out.
Barnes’ cheeks darkened, as if he was embarrassed.  “No. When Steve and I … fought,”  he paused and swallowed hard,  “something got jammed up.  I’ve tried fixing it, but I don’t really know what I’m doing.”
“Then it’s a good thing you’re living under the same roof with a mechanical genius,” Tony replied,  “I’d be happy to take a look at it, if you want.”
Barnes looked up, meeting Tony’s gaze for the first time; his storm-grey eyes widening in surprise.  “Really?  I figured you hated me.”
Tony shook his head.  “Not once I realized that you’re not the Soldier any more. And that you never wanted to be.”

Tumblr media
"You're not going to like what I have to say," Tony says to Bucky as the team enter the conference room and takes their seats. Natasha and Clint had arrived early in the morning and had decided to join also, even though they were exhausted from their mission.
"Tony, when do I ever like what you say?" Bucky asks as he pulls out your chair and sits next to you.
"Haha, you're hilarious." Tony's voice is flat and empty of humour, his exhaustion making the eccentric man quiet for once. "Jarvis has analysed every scenario and there's only one way to get the Rumlows and minimize collateral damage. It might put a strain on your adorable blossoming romance," he says, pointing at the two of you.
You and Bucky quickly glance at each other before taking a deep breath and facing Tony once again. "Let's hear it," Bucky answers for you both.
"You need to pretend to be the Winter Soldier again. You take Y/N and hand her over as instructed while you scope out the situation inside. We then breach on your signal." Soft gasps fill the big room.
"Are you fucking crazy?" Bucky growls softly in a voice you've never heard before, sending chills down your spine. If you were in Tony's position, you'd be scared shitless, even Steve is flinching at his tone.
Tony doesn't seem concerned though. "It's the only way. With all the buildings so close to each other and people mulling about, we need to be extra careful to avoid hurting innocent people."
"I won't use Y/N as bait and hand her over to the man who put her in the hospital." Bucky's metal hand curls into a clenched fist gears whirling with misuse.
Natasha meets your gaze, reinforcing what you already know. "Bucky, it's the best option we have. If I can help stop this then I have to," you add as you grab his large hand and sandwich it between your smaller hands.
"But-"
Bucky isn't going to agree unless you make him see the truth.
"I know you won't let them hurt me. With you by my side, I'll be strong enough to do it. We need to end this Bucky. If this is the only way then we do it."
Anxious baby blue eyes meet yours, reading every detail of your expression, looking for a crack in your façade. When he finds nothing he huffs in frustration.
"Fine, but I want to go over every detail and have contingencies for every plan. I'm not losing you." He curls his arm around you, pulling you closer to him.
"We won't let that happen," Steve says as the other Avengers add their voices in agreement, all of them willing to protect you and help Bucky keep you safe at any cost.
Tumblr media
Bucky is shaking with nervousness as he pulls you into his room, pulling you into his strong arms and dropping his head into the crook of your neck, breathing you in. "It's going to be ok, Bucky. I know you'll do everything you can to protect me, and the others too. I'm stronger now. I'll kick him in the balls the first chance I get. I just want this to be over with." You run your hands through his long hair. "I don't want to be looking over my shoulders every minute of the future."
Bucky steps back and sighs loudly, biting his lower lip. "Yeah, I know." He sits down on the couch and you join him. "Are we... will you..." he stammers then with a deep sigh concedes with a frustrated, "never mind."
"What is it handsome? You can ask me anything." You curl up next to him, your knees brushing his thick thighs.
Bucky runs a hand down his face, closing his eyes as he leans his head down on the couch, his Adam’s apple becoming more pronounced with his neck curled. "Don't worry about it."
"Bucky..." you whine softly. What did he want to know? Running your hands down his chest, you try to calm him down.  "Please?" You add when he looks down at you.
He stares at the ground for a moment before he starts talking and you know you can't interrupt him until he's finished, otherwise, you might never hear what he has to say.
"I... I want to ask you to stay with me after we end this. But I know feelings are heightened in times of stress, so I get that you would want to go and live your life, not be chained down to an old man with PTSD whose life is a clusterfuck of fights every day. I just- I need you to know, when I tell you I love you, I mean it. I'll continue to love you until I die. Which may be in a hundred years from now or tomorrow. But I need you to know, when you leave... if you ever want to come back, I'll be waiting for you. As long as I'm alive I'll be waiting for you, hoping you'll come back to me and love me as much as I love you."
Your brows narrow in confusion as silence descends on the room. "You know I love you. Where's all this coming from?"
"I just... I just don't want you to be shackled to a different monster. I don't want you to feel forced to be with me." He hums in delight as you climb into his lap and straddle him, his hands curling around your thighs as you hold his jaw and force him to face you.
"No one's forcing me to be with you. I love you and you love me. When I look towards the future, all I want is a man that loves and cares for me. I want a family that I can be a part of. And I get that with you and the others... you're my family. Bucky, you're not a monster. You need to stop seeing yourself as one. Even though I haven't known you for a long time, I can feel it in my bones... you're the love of my life. I know you're not like him. Even when you were at your worst, you never hurt me. I'm safe with you. I love you and I want to be with you forever." When a single tear runs down your cheek, he wipes it away with his thumb, his own eyes glistening with moisture.
He kisses you gently, curling his arms around you as he pulls you deeper into him. When you moan for him, he deepens the kiss, tilting his head to the side as he slides his tongue in deeper, licking the roof of your mouth before caressing your tongue with his.
You grind down onto him, feeling how much he wants you when his bulge fits perfectly between your legs.  This time you take the lead, pulling his shirt over his head, your movements clumsy with desperation. He helps you remove your shirt, his hands caressing your naked back as you attack his throat with kisses and licks, biting down on the spot between his neck and shoulder hard enough to make a mark, causing him to growl and become harder beneath you.
He puts his hands on your ass, squeezing as he starts to stand up and take you to the bedroom with him. "Bucky, wait." Your voice is soft and unsure, causing him to release you instantly and raise his arms up in surrender.
"You alright kitten? I promise I won't hurt you."
"I know that, you idiot." You smack his arm softly making him drop them to the couch. "I just don't want to move from the couch. I... I want to try something with you. I want to do something for you..." You're nervous but you're excited too, and he can smell it. "Can I touch you?"
Bucky's brows raise in surprise and his eyes widen. When the two of you had made love for the first time, he had been the one touching you, making you come. Even in the middle of the night, when you had felt how hard he had been for you, he had been the one to make you scream in pleasure once again.
"You can do whatever you want to me," his voice is hoarse, his breathing uneven with desire. You smirk at him before biting his collarbone, licking your way down his body and sucking on one of his dark nipples. Your hands rub his thighs as you move to the other nipple licking and sucking softly. When you move down and lick one of his abs, he shudders in anticipation before reluctantly pulling you away from him.
His eyes are pitch black when he looks down at you. "You don't have to do this, Y/N."
You lick your lips, making him moan with need. "I want to. I want to taste you."
He whines softly at your words, yet doesn't allow you to move. "I- no one has ever..." his words die down as his ears become red with embarrassment, his eyes not meeting yours.
"No one's ever given you oral?" Surprise is evident in your voice. He doesn't answer and merely shakes his head.
"I really want to do this with you. But if you're not ready we don't have to. Do you want me to stop?"
"God, no. I want to feel you touch me. I just... you need to know." He smirks at you before he adds, "In case you wrap your beautiful lips around me and I come in two seconds. I don't want you to doubt my stamina."
"Trust me, Sarge, there's no way I'll ever doubt your stamina. Not after last night." He had come inside you and had been hard again seconds thereafter.
You slowly slide your hands down his magnificent scarred chest, unbuckle his belt and pop his top button then slowly roll down his pants zipper, eyes never leaving his own. He gasps when the back of your hand bumps his aching cock, before you reach down and move his underwear down to free him. He lifts his hips and helps you pull his clothes down before you grasp onto him again, curling your fingers around his girth and stroking him softly. His hands clasp onto the seats of the couch and squeeze hard as you continue to rub him up and down.
He watches as you move down and fall to your knees on the mat before the couch, bending down before licking him from his base to his tip, suckling on the tip gently before licking him again like you would a lollipop. When your mouth engulfs him, he can't help the loud moan from spilling out his mouth.
"Fuck, you're killing me kitten!" You take as much of him as possible into your mouth, hollowing your throat and sucking on him. He tries to hold onto the couch, but he can't stop himself from running his hands through your hair and holding on for dear life as you work him up and down, saliva connecting the two of you as you work him towards completion.
You can feel he's close when he twitches in your mouth. "Jesus Christ doll. You make me feel so good. You need to stop now or I'm going to come down your throat."
That's exactly what you want so you take him deeper and suck him harder. You cup his balls and roll them softly before you pull on them gently, making him cry out as he climaxes and shoots his semen down your throat, his legs twitching from exertion. He's watching you with lust-filled eyes as you lick down every last drop, working hard to get his breathing to even out before he picks you up and throws you over his shoulder, making you squeak in surprise.
"Bucky, what are you doing?" You ask as he walks naked to his bedroom and gently throws you onto the bed.
"I'm returning the favour. I'm going to feast on you, kitten."
Tumblr media
An hour later you and Bucky join the team. The two of you will be entering the area via Bucky's car while Wanda and Steve will pretend to be a couple on a walk close to the building where Josh and Brock are hiding. Tony and Sam will fly in from close by when it's time to breach.
Bucky will be wearing a hidden camera to show the team what's happening in the building while Natasha and Clint will be providing technical support from the Tower due to having just come back from their mission.
When it’s time for you and Bucky to go, everyone gives you hugs and words of encouragement for what is to come. Bucky is silent as he helps you climb into the car, apprehension obvious in his movements. He grabs your hand and holds it while driving out of the compound and toward your destination.
"I'm going to have to pretend to be the Winter Soldier again, doll. I'll be quiet and heartless, but just remember how much I love you. I'll do everything I can to get you out safely."
"I know Bucky. I know you'll be pretending not to care about me when we meet them. Just make sure we both get out safely, ok? I can't lose you, not after everything..."
"You won't kitten. I'll make sure we both get out of there alive. I haven't had my fill of you yet," Bucky smirks as he winks at you, making you chuckle in return.
You grow sombre the closer you get to your destination. "Why is it that life has to be shitty before it can become good? I get stuck with an abusive husband, and you have to endure more than 70 years of torture and pain. Do you ever wonder why?"
Bucky smiles at you softly, "Yeah, doll. I've wondered about it. But if meeting you has made anything clearer it's that sometimes bad things have to happen before you can really appreciate the good things that are in your life. You are the best thing in my life, Y/N. And I'm so happy to have had this time with you. If I had to go through the last 70 years again just to be with you, then I would. You're my heaven and I'll brave hell again just to keep you close to me."
You have to wipe away your silent tears, the words Bucky said making your heart jump with joy. "I feel the same about you, handsome." You rub his jaw, smiling when he leans into your touch.
"Come here." He gives you one last kiss and climbs back in the car driving towards your targets. He clenches his hands around the steering wheel and breathes in deeply as he settles into his feared persona. Becoming the Winter Soldier again.
A few minutes later he's pulling his car off the road. He walks over to you and opens your door, kissing you hard, transferring all his feelings into one kiss. You hold on for dear life and kiss him back, not knowing how long it will take to finish the mission. When he breaks the kiss, the two of you stare into each other's eyes for a minute, finding comfort in being close to each other.
His eyes are cold but familiar as he pulls you from the car with harsh movements. His strength overwhelms you as you draw back in feigned fear, struggling against his hold.
He grabs your elbow and walks you up the cobbled driveway as two figures open the door and step out into the sunlight. You gasp when you spot Josh with a bigger man next to him. A man who you guess is his brother, due to their familiar features. Brock, one of the men responsible for hurting the love of your life. Your two demons, together once again.
It's just like William Shakespeare once said, Hell is empty and all the devils are here.

Note
Hihi! I have a request! Fem! Ready with the Sdra2 girl cast with a S/o that dies in the place of their best friend while trying to save them. Basically the Peko/Fuyuhiko trial. (If they live or die is up to you!)
Alright! I made the best friend part of void, sorry if that wasn’t what you wanted. Hope you enjoy!
Other void members are referenced so under the cut for spoilers!!
Setsuka Chiebukuro:
"I'm sorry, F/n. I hoped this wasn't the case, but..."
She feels hurt knowing F/n was a void, but is able to accept it rather quickly. She's more worried about you, knowing how close the two of you had been. Setsuka gently tries to convince you of the truth, comforting you every chance she could.
When you break into tears, she's right there by your side. Setuka would like to get answers from F/n, but she'll wait for someone else to question them. Right now, you needed her more.
She holds your hand as the two of you exchange goodbyes, exchanging a few words with F/n herself. Setsuka feels a bit hurt, but she knows there must be a reason that F/n would do something like this.
She's so caught up in her own investigation that she doesn't notice your hand slip out of hers.
"N/n... you shouldn't watch, we can-...N/N..!?"
She wants to run after you, but a part of her knows that you're already gone. Setsuka yells for you to come back, and stay out of Monocrow's way, but it was too late.
She forces herself to look away, the sounds of your blood splattering making her stomach churn. If only she payed a little more attention... she could've saved you. And if she figured out that F/n was a void, she could've avoided this whole nightmare in the first place.
Everything hurt, but Setsuka refuses to break down, offering her comfort to the others instead. She had to bite her lip to stop herself from crying, telling the others that she will avenge you, and everything would be alright.
It might've been more convincing if she believed it herself.
Teaming up with Nikei and F/n, Setsuka creates her own investigation for answers, promising herself that she won't rest until she's uncovered Mikado's plan and stopped the killing game once and for all.
She just wishes that you could've been here with her.
Hibiki Otonokoji:
"H-Huh!? Hey! Are we sure F/n's the killer? I-I mean... one of you guys must've made a mistake somewhere!"
She won't believe it until Sora explains the case from start to finish. As it all finally sinks in, that a good friend of hers and your best friend was a traitor the whole time... she's pissed, not hesitating to lash out at F/n.
"Stupid Void!! I thought you were our friend!" It hurts her, and she wants to cry, but she keeps an aggressive front. Together, the two of you will cry and mourn in your room later, both of you comforting each other.
At least... that's what she thought would happen. She's taken by complete surprise when you run after F/n to the execution grounds, and Kanade has to hold her back from impulsively running after you.
She screams, crying and cursing at everything and nothing. Kanade for holding her back, Monocrow for executing you, Mikado for being the mastermind, and you for doing something so stupid. Setsuka and Kanade try to calm her down, but she hits and kicks at them weakly, just wanting to run to you.
Kanade was still holding her back as the execution continued, but it felt like she was forcing her to watch the spectacle. As blood pooled around your body, Hibiki's whole mind went numb before-
...
...
She awoke in Setsuka's arms, who had pulled her out of Kanade's grip. Hibiki noticed everyone giving her sorrowful stares, and she looked around in confusion, "...Huh? Why's everyone crying? Y/n, what's-...Where's Y/n...?"
She doesn't remember the execution, her memory going blank after F/n's reveal. Hibiki is in complete denial for a while, your death only sinking in when Kanade practically yells it to her.
She feels the numbness chill her head again, and Kanade can only laugh as she finally gets the puppet she always wanted.
Iroha Nijue:
As another member of void, she knew this would have to happen eventually, as much as she didn't want it. Iroha honestly thought it was Nikei for most of the trial, but her mouth dropped open in shock as Sora confirmed it was F/n.
It was their turn already!? Why... why couldn't your trio last just a little longer?
She was probably crying harder then you, the three of you holding each other sobbing, not wanting to let go for even a moment.
She wrapped her arms around you, falling to her knees as F/n is pulled away from you. Her eyes are clamped shut from the tears, and it's not until she fells the absence of your warmth and the frantic calls of your classmates that she realizes something is horribly wrong...
"...Eh? Y/N! What are you doing!? S-Stop!!"
Her whole body trembles, shaking and crying as you run after F/n. She internally begs for her luck to take effect, or anything to happen so you don't meet Hajime's fate. Iroha wants to hide her face in her sketchbook, but she can't look away.
Her legs collapse from beneath her as blood pours from your head.
Nononono... you weren't supposed to die...
She locks herself in her room, drawing every memory that came to mind. F/n tries to talk to her, but she avoids them.
Iroha wants more than anything to betray Mikado, and make him pay for what he did to you... but she doesn't have that courage. All she can do is cry as Mikado intimidates her into compliance, wallowing in her own self-pity.
She's scared... she's so scared...
She just wants to hold you, but is left with nothing except memories and despair.
Emma Magorobi:
She knew it was F/n's turn to kill, but that didn't make it any easier, knowing her S/o was about to witness the death of their best friend, and eventually, Emma's own death.
Emma didn't need to act or create tears to fake cry, as seeing both of your reactions was heartbreaking enough for her. Ever since Mikado's betrayal and Hajime's death, combined with meeting the love of her life, Emma was on the fence about void for a while, but this...
She wasn't sure she could murder after this. She couldn't put you through that.
She didn't create a scene, wrapping her arms around you and assuring you that everything would be alright, and the two of you would get through this.
That was the part where she had to act, and even then, it was hard to keep her voice from breaking.
She squeezes your hand as you and F/n say your final words to each other, before giving F/n a hug of her own. F/n whispers for her to take care of you, and Emma could only nod as they're dragged away, both completely clueless about what you were about to do.
"...I'm sorry, Emma."
"...Y/n...? What do you-..Y/N!"
She cries out your name, reaching out her hand and running after you. A part of her knows it's futile, but that doesn't stop her from kicking and yelling when the others hold her back.
Emma finally had something good in her life that didn't come from her divine luck. She didn't care if Utsuro came back anymore, and the blessing she had could disappear completely for all she cared. Her father was probably dead after all, and life on the streets wouldn't be nearly as devasting with you by her side.
As she watches you get impaled, dying in F/n's arms, she feels that familiar pain. The pain she'd feel nearly everyday when her father used her arms as an ashtray.
But that pain wasn't on her arms anymore, it was burning deep inside her heart.
If F/n survived, the two of them will rebel against Mikado, and end his plan once and for all.
Or die trying. At least then Emma would be able to see you again.
Sora:
She felt terrible exposing your friend like this, but if she didn't, everyone would die.
That didn't make it any easier, sending off another thought-to-be-friend to their death, knowing they helped put you in this twisted game...
"Y/n... I'm sorry I have to do this."
You shake your head in denial, frantically looking for evidence, but refusing to snap at your girlfriend. When Sora's argument comes to a close, you were already sobbing. She can only hold you, apologizing and whispering words of comfort in your ear.
She let you go to say your final goodbye, and gently asked if they wanted to say anything else, about Void or the killing game. F/n shook their head, moments before being dragged away, and Sora prepared to hold you again, only to be hugging empty space
"..!? Y/n!?"
She desperately reaches her hand out to grab you, impulsively following you before Yuki and Shinji hold her back.
Sora didn't know anything about herself prior to the killing game, but you made it clear that she definitely wasn't part of void, never doubting her for a moment. She may have been an amnesiac, but she clearly remembers every moment she spent with you, the memories playing in her head on repeat as she watches you take your final breath.
She's yelling your name, and fighting back tears, wanting nothing more than to strange Mikado herself. Even if she struggles to look at F/n the same way, she blames Mikado for your death more than anyone else, snapping at him the moment he's in her sight.
Investigating as much as she can about void, Sora seems to distant herself from the others, only talking to F/n to question them. Mikado himself feels a bit perplexed, as she seems to be ignoring Yuki as well...
As she learns more and more about herself as the game continues, Sora imagines how you would've reacted, and things you would've said if you were still alive. The comfort it brings is almost worth the pain of remembering your death.
But nothing compares to her hatred of Mikado for doing this to you.
Yoruko Kabuya:
F/n... was apart of void?
She's angry at F/n, and scolds them a bit, but immediately drops it upon seeing you. If she felt betrayed, she couldn't imagine how you were feeling...
"Y/n...It's okay... You couldn't have known..!"
She hugs you, holding your hand as the two of you say your goodbyes. She wants to yell at F/n herself, and press them on void, but... you were taking this so hard already.
Yoruko can see that you're shaking, and she's a bit unsure of how to comfort you, but she never would have expected you to...
"Y/n...? Y/N! Wh-What are you doing!? Y/N!"
Yoruko screams, yelling for Monocrow to stop the execution. The bird is just as confused as she is, but does nothing to stop you.
Yoruko can't stop screaming for you and F/n. She couldn't lose the both of you. Not in the same day. She's a mess, crying and screaming your name as one of the machines lands the final blow on you. Even when you're long gone, the screams and tears won't stop.
She feels so useless... you did so much for her, and she couldn't repay you. Yoruko wants nothing but to apologize for every even slightly mean thing she ever said to you. She feels like a failure, as you deserved so much better than this...
She can't talk to F/n. She'll only start crying and yelling again. Instead, Yoruko stands to the side, numbly nodding her head as the others demand answers about void.
It feels like a part of her is still screaming.
Kanade Otonokoji:
"Y/n...don't you understand..? They're the killer....fufu..."
There's a few times during the trial where your sweet and innocent girlfriend turns... hostile, scolding you for not believing her, and getting mad whenever you hinted that she might be mistaken.
When F/n was officially voted as the blackend, your sweet girlfriend was back, comforting you and gently running a hand through your hair as you cried into her shoulder. Internally, she couldn't be happier, not having to be the one to kill F/n! Now, she just had to put up with your oh so sad goodbyes, and she'd have you all to herself!
But if Kanade had one fatal flaw, it was her own confidence. She was by all means a perfect human, being as strong as Hajime and as smart as Kokoro. If she had just paid a little more attention to you, instead of grinning at F/n's face of defeat, she might have been able to stop you.
She feels her heart stop when she realizes what you're doing, before Kanade takes matters into her own hands and goes to run into the execution grounds after you.
"N-No! Kanade!! Are you stupid!? I-If you go there, you'll-!" Hibiki grabbed her arm, already sobbing her eyes out. It was a sight that once would've pleased her, but not when it was the only thing keeping her from saving you.
"You think I don't realize that, Hibiki!? LET ME GO YOU LITTLE-..."
She cuts herself off as you give your final scream in pain. Kanade doesn't waste a second after that, shoving her sister aside and running to you.
She feels for your pulse, and upon not being able to find one, her world goes red.
It doesn't matter if F/n survived or not. If anything, it would've been less painful for them to die in the execution. Kanade doesn't care for answers about void, she wants revenge.
Ironically, watching F/n get slaughtered by her own sister pushed Hibiki to her breaking point. Kanade giggled a bit watching her sister become a doll, just like she wanted before she met you. It didn't matter anymore, as now she would be meeting you again.
Still laughing maniacally, she picks up the weapon that had taken your life, taking a moment to stare at it, before thrusting it into her own heart.
Kokoro Mitsume:
By the time the investigation ended, she was completely sure that F/n was the killer, but was conflicted on whether she should tell you. She watched your emotions throughout the trial, not denying when you asked her if she truly thought F/n was the killer
You knew Kokoro couldn't reveal too much, or she'd become a target, but you couldn't help but feel betrayed that she didn't tell you, or even warn you somehow that your best friend was a void.
She knew what you were thinking, and apologized,
"Y/n... I'm sorry. I had suspicions for a while now. But, I know F/n didn't want to do this, and they genuinely enjoyed your company."
She put a hand on your shoulder, concentrating on F/n's body language and emotions to deduce as much as she could about void's purpose and the killing game.
So much that she didn't notice your own emotions, and when she did, she didn't have enough time to figure out what you were about to do.
When she did, you were already out of reach...
Despite her quiet personality, she yelled your name.
Kokoro rarely felt emotions, originally surprising herself when she fell in love with you. As she saw you take a spear to the stomach, she felt a part of herself die with you. The feeling of her own stomach twisting in despair, and hot tears running down her face was something she never felt before...
Actions of love had always confused her, as it seemed to cause people contradict human behavior and even common sense, but as she fought back every urge to run to your dying body in that execution, she finally understood.
She'll never be able to look at F/n the same, even though she knows it's just an effect of memory association. It's funny... she knows the science behind it all down to the last neuron, but it doesn't stop her from feeling worse.
But if there's one thing Kokoro knows, it's that she'll be getting answers this time, whether F/n likes it or not.

Note
So there's this khr fanon idea of Resonance, where a Sky and a Guardian that are meant to bond together, or even two Guardians meant to be under the same Sky, feel an instinctive connection with each other, so I wonder if Skies can have the same thing with each other? Could be part of why Tsuna is so chill with most other Skies.
I love the idea of Resonance in general but Resonance, and the misunderstanding of it because it shouldn’t be possible, between skies is actually making me a bit feral.
Dino immediately seeing Tsuna as his younger brother despite the tension he can feel rolling if Reborn and his own men stationed outside. stunned that he doesn’t feel even a second of the tension along his spine that signals the start of his aggression. Stunned that the only thing he feels is an all encompassing warmth when Tsuna looks up at him and calls him nii-san.
Xanxus unable to stop thinking about that damn kid that was chosen over him. Working himself into a fury for weeks and months before he finally sees him and feels… different. He doesn’t understand what it is. That lack of understanding pisses him off more. It isn’t until his hands are frozen and he can feel the chill threatening to claim him and the kid is begging him to stop so he doesn’t have to use zero point breakthrough against him again that he realizes he doesn’t hate the kid. It pisses him off so much he has to keep fighting. If he looks too closely at the feeling it will consume him.
Byakuran being obsessed with Tsuna in tens of dozens of universes. Some where the sky aggression is a thing and some of them where it is not. Always Tsuna stands against him. Always he is the one thing that threatens his power. He never succeeds but with each attempt Byakuran can’t get those big brown eyes out of his head. His death was a blessing. A break from the madness he found himself trapped in. A chance to breathe when he had been drowning in syrup for so long. He still thinks about those eyes. He wonders if this is the word he will finally get to see them happy.
Uni always knew Tsuna was coming, saw him in fractured moments as she put herself back together again. Felt the warmth of his flames and the promise they held. She came back for her people, for her aunt and uncles, but she also came back for him. She knew immediately that he would protect her. She knew that he would avenge her as well. She didn’t know that he would befriend her along the way. It is nice actually being surprised.

HotD Season 2 Episode 5 Live Watch Thoughts
I feel like if we find out parts of this season was written by AI, I would not be surprised.
Lannister soldiers I can use for edits later. ✌🏻
Ooooo LIONS
Are those men from Tarth?
The actor does a decent job of mimicking season 1 Jaime’s slight tone.
Love how we have Aegon actively seeking and even listening to Alicent’s advice while Aegon instantly silences and ignores her.
“Your father knew this” the man IGNORED them until YOU asked him to, Alicent.
“As you well know.” Yeah, Aemond, why didn’t you stop that.
Aemond, Criston is the only person there to have actually fought Daemon, and actually win.
I like that her children still refer to her as “mother” even in public.
I like that we are blocked from Aemond’s emotion when he is in side profile with the eyepatch.
I wish we had Aemond actually feeling bad about Jaehaerys, because we got nothing of that in the show.
I personally feel they have been avenged and he still does not feel like he has enough to the point where he does not mourn his trueborn nephew.
Are we going to have Corlys call Rhaenyra out like he does in the book? Apparently not he put on the pin.
Did the actor who played Corlys loose weight or are his clothes less bulky?
Here is Lord Commander Westerling? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to have Rhaenyra lean on him rather than this random Kingsguard that has only really shown up as a major-ish character this season.
Are they making up Targaryen offspring? Making up a Targaryen princess? Would this man’s grandmother’s grandmother have even been a princess? They weren’t crowned, what, six generations ago?
Honestly, the Dragonseed stuff was risky anyway, but they are making it sound truly stupid.
Onto Daemon’s A24 movie? Will we see Rhea? Anyone want to bet?
Oh? He’s going to see Viserys?
“You can’t possibly still be angry about this.” HIS SON DIED AND HE HAD MURDERED HIS WIFE! MY DUDE?!?!?!?
Vague Rhea mention at least?
And don’t what? Name Rhaenyra heir or send you away?
Saving Hodor flashbacks tbh
Daemon is truly losing it.
And why is he not blaming Alys? Who is arguably the weirdest person in the keep besides him?
And Simon Strong is so freaking chill.
Is Daemon leaving? Oh? Oh?
Ah. The weirwood tree.
Alys is the most consistently written character and it is so ridiculous.
“She never even wanted it.” She didn’t care to learn either.
“Viserys never wanted it himself” really? He could have thrown his lot with Rhaenys then and not set his claim forward.
Also, not gonna lie, I have never pronounced Alys as *Alice* in my head.
So dragon singing or something is a thing? Why can’t we hear Tom sing in the show? He has a band doesn’t he?
Also, we never knew why Daemon was doing what he was doing last season when he was singing?
Are they going to make up Dragonseed like they did Targaryen family members?
Also, why isn’t the woman dragonkeeper bald too? Wouldn’t bring bald be wise or did Ryan & Co also not like the idea of bald women.
Seasmoke is gorgeous btw.
Ah, so she lost a very loyal Kingsguard for this. Great. I would have ended the search for Dragonseed there tbh. It’s not wise to lose allies.
Corlys, did you ever think that perhaps your bastard kid you have ignored for years would be happy to serve beside you? Wow. You’re as bad as Viserys when it comes to thinking your kids you’ve ignored would be happy to follow your orders.
Addam is so freaking fine.
And Dyanna. Someone theorized that’s where we get Gaemon Palehair with the brothel woman.
Feasts? Ah. It’s the stupid rumors. Love that the woman turned so quickly on Aemond.
“Never while our smallfolk went without.” Ummmmm. He had a whole hunt when there was the possibility of invasion.
Oh? So you want to be feared Rhaenyra? Where was this after your son died? Where was this when you had a chance to take Alicent?
The characterization is so slow.
MEN? Did more happen?
Is the riot when Rhaenyra has King’s Landing? Or was that Green propaganda?
“This becomes you.”
Darksister was a woman’s sword and would work better for a woman.
Why are we getting more Hugh and his family getting all this characterization when you can have Nettles or even give Addam more characterization. You know, someone who was actually loyal to their precious Rhaenyra even when SHE turned on them.
And who cares about the Gullet? Have the Lannisters bring in food from the Reach? Do Ryan & Co not realize the Hightowers are in the Reach?
AEGON WAKES!
I love how relieved Orwyl is about Aegon.
UGH. I DON’T LIKE BODY HORROR STUFF.
Tom still good looking despite the scars.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have Helaena or Alicent to step in?
And F you Aemond. His characterization is becoming so cartoonish and 1-dimensional.
RHAENA
*sigh* so they will replace nettles. Can’t they just have it be Morning instead?
And that baby dragon’s CGI blending into the real background is not great.
And Rhaena holding a dragon toy 😭
That shot of Rhaena is beautiful.
Is Jeyne Arryn actually going to have more to do? Can’t she teach Rhaena about being a lady of a grand keep?
Will they have Rhaena be at fault for Aegon and Viserys being lost?
And so Alyn dies/cuts his hair?
How ironic that Alyn will become lord eventually.
I really do wish Addam had silver hair.
Also, couldn’t people assume they are another Velaryon’s bastards?
Only half-way done and I am still bored.
“I am tired of being protected.” And what about your protection of your son?
*sigh* are they going to allow Helaena to fight too?
Will Rhaenyra still be sorry that Alicent and Helaena were caught in the crosshairs this time when she is the one to do it or no?
Oh, so they are going to have Rhaenyra sending aide to King’s Landing 🙄 Will they turn on her faster when she can’t give them food anymore and SHE is the one to throw lavish parties, or is that going to be Green propaganda as well. Meaning it will be propaganda the Blacks used on the Greens as an uno reverse?
And Alicent sitting beside Aegon. 🥲
“What will he be if he lives?” Alive?
So they do remember the Reach.
Maester Orwyle is the VIP.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry.” 🥲
Love the hair up look!
Lol Gwayne clocks it. Lol
“You were always his favorite.” Interesting.
Daeron mentioned!
I love the mix of joy and sadness in Alicent’s eyes when she hears about Daeron 😭
Gwayne telling Alicent she did her best! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Not denying her faults, but not blaming her entirely. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
And Criston waiting to leave until she acknowledges him.
Helaena!!!!
The stupid dog 🙄
Also???? I thought the gates would have been closed to the water? Why couldn’t people have left through the water then?
HOW ARE WE STILL AT 26 MINUTES LEFT?!?!?
“The Queens” 🥲
You just got food. And now you’re flinging it.
Oh? Alicent had a cut like Rhaenyra now?
And Larys denying Aegon his pain meds.
I really do wish that Larys wasn’t so obviously a bad guy because this conversation could be viewed as more genuine.
So was Alys blamed for Larys?
Goodwill version of the Tyrion/Jon conversation in season 1 of GoT 😒
So they could get Aemma’s actress back for this?
Honestly, this whole thing feels like an Anime arc where Daemon gets a redemption. Or Daemon going through the Bad Place to get to the Good Place.
Did Alys kill Glover?
I guess so.
Again, instead of Hugh and the other Dragonseed, I would have preferred to spend time focusing on Alyn.
Also hate they didn’t just kill Laenor in season 1. It would have added to Rhaenyra’s character tbh and would have given her an interesting dynamic between herself and her elder 3 children.
He questions them because Daemon is the only one seemingly doing anything after HIS BROTHER WAS MURDERED.
I heard rumors that Mysaria and Rhaenyra would have a romantic plot line and I hope the heck not. Because imagine getting together with the girl whose lookalikes you gave to Daemon to bed.
I think Mysaria is being honest or deceitful to gain Rhaenyra’s favor, which does not do well for the writers because she truly is not a well written character. She is just there and does not actually have any impact unless the story needs it.
My eyes are ROLLING in the back of my head.
Rhaenyra, a woman just told you about her sexual trauma and you start making it sexual.
This is because fans were pissed about Missandei not taking over the bedfellow role of D I am sure of it. And I absolutely hate it. It makes it seem like Rhaenyra is incapable of having adult relationships unless they are parental or sexual/romantic. 🙄
This was, once more a bad episode.
Promo Thoughts
So Jace is changing his opinion now?
Again. The show is just… bad.

You never thought you'd ever fall in love. You were an agent for SHIELD who worked constantly and had no time for real personal matters or relationships. For years, you did your job. Going on small missions for Fury, filing paperwork, and even sometimes working undercover when needed, but all the while you did your job; and you did it well. You hardly ever thought about a life where you had a "normal" job. Yes, sometimes you daydreamed of a better apartment, maybe even a pet to keep you company on the days you were free from work. And, yes. You daydreamed when you were off work, dressed in sweats on your couch as you binge-watched some Netflix movie. You thought about a life with a sweet partner, a house with a white picket fence, and maybe a pet or two. But you knew with the life that you chose, that seemingly perfect dream wasn't possible.
You never thought you'd ever have a life outside of work, so when the snap happened. A lot of things had changed. SHIELD wasn't as... Alive, shall we say, and you were basically out of the job for five years. You had to think of something. So, when you had the chance, you got a job as a waitress. It paid alright, but not the best. You had to deal with rude customers and low wages, and sadly just working that job couldn't pay the bills. So, you had to take up another part-time job. You were able to get a job in an office building. And with your filing expertise, you went around five hours of the day filing papers, and files, and using the copier machine. Those five years were rough. You sort of missed your job at SHIELD.
You were overwhelmed when everyone came back. Only five years prior did you have to basically restart your life, and now, you had to do it again. New York had become a very stressful environment. The people there were not as trusting as they once were. But, you still kept your head down and your mouth shut and did as you always had done. You were going to survive this new life. You did it once, and you could do it again. And because life just loved to kick you while you were down, you got a phone call a couple of weeks after everyone came back. It was an unknown caller, but for some reason, you answered it. Your brain rationalized that it was a scammer or a wrong number. But, no. You knew that voice from your time at SHIELD. It was Sam Wilson. The Falcon.
He was asking for your help. Yours! Like you could help him figure out who's been recreating the Super Soldier Serum, really? You were just a Level Two Agent. You didn't know all about the details; you only knew the basics. You wouldn't be a help to him at all. If anything, you wouldn't only get him killed. But Sam insisted you join him and Bucky and find out who was recreating the serum and stop them. You wanted to say no, you really, really did. But, something deep down inside you was nagging you to say yes. You couldn't explain it, not even now, but that feeling... It was like another force, pulling and pushing you. You said 'yes,' and suddenly you were in a plane headed toward Madripoor.

Again, you never thought you'd fall in love. But... When you saw him... Dancing to the loud, pulsing music of the dark club... He was tall, wearing a seemingly costly outfit, and he was just chilling; having a good time. You were smitten instantly. You wanted to go over to him and dance, too. But, your body froze in place. You had a job to do, sadly. You didn't have time to go over there. That's when you found Sam and Bucky, and they uttered the mysterious man's name. Helmut Zemo. You had heard that name before. With your Level Two clearance, sometimes you were allowed to review criminal files, and Zemo was one of them. You had read through his file probably more than ten times, almost invested in his saddening story. The loss of his home and family... Even though your mind tried to object, you couldn't help but feel sorry for him; understanding why he was so against the Avengers in the first place. You understood, to an extent, his pain.
For however long, you, Bucky, Sam, and Zemo stayed at his safe house in Latvian. It was lavish, to say the least. You knew Zemo was a Baron and all, but you were hypnotized by the lovely blue, red, yellow, and clear star-shaped glass that made up the four large windows. And during your time staying there, you had grown very close to the Baron. Zemo was sweet, compassionate, and even funny at times. He would subtly poke fun at Sam or Bucky, making you have to hide your grins.
During one day in the Latvian home, Sam and Bucky had asked you to watch Zemo for the day while they went out for some research purposes. You were a bit hesitant, but that uncertainty washed away when Zemo offered to make you tea. It was calm, the time you had watching Zemo. Even though Sam and Bucky were very cautious of the man, you didn't think Zemo was an actual threat. He did what he had to do, he got his revenge. He was not a threat. He especially wasn't a threat when he walked out of that great bathroom of his in a blue robe, slippers, and chain around his neck. He even offered the bathroom to you next, allowing you to have a nice warm bath to relax and calm you. Of course, you took it.
You sat together, side by side. Just talking. The conversation was a bit awkward in the beginning, but you quickly relaxed in his presence. He was a very charming and soothing person, his accented voice was hypnotic, and the way he looked at you gave you butterflies in your stomach. You weren't used to men looking at you in such an affectionate or caring manner. But Zemo was different. You felt comfortable around him. The tension between you and him melted away after only a few minutes in his presence. He made you laugh, almost crying laughing, he was addicting. And on top of that, he was a good listener, he listened to you. You couldn't believe how close the two of you got in the span of three hours. From small glimpses into each other's pasts to full conversations about everything under the sun. You couldn't remember the last time you felt this... Content.
"So," You turned slightly in your seat on the couch to face Zemo, tucking your legs under you slightly. "Don't laugh but this question has been on my mind for a while."
Zemo gave you a small grin, his arm across the back of the couch, his hand almost grazing your shoulder. "Ask me whatever you want; I will not judge."
Your cheeks flushed, and you bit your lip slightly as you spoke, "What's your favorite color?" You blushed harder when you realized what you had just blurted out, and how silly the question was.
"Well," His green eyes sparkled as he smiled, his accent more prominent than usual, "My favorite color is purple." Your eyes winded slightly in surprise and Zemo chuckled as he continued, "Specifically Dark Orchid. And you?"
"Y/F/C." You spoke with a small laugh, tilting your head slightly as you stared at the man before you, "Why Dark Orchid specifically?"
"Yes, well..." Zemo started, licking his lips. "Dark Orchid, the color conveys a message of strength, mystery, and determination." He smirked, "Descriptors that I believe I possess." He spoke with such confidence in his words. It was adorable, how much confidence he carried in himself. "I find that to be fitting."
"Very," You smiled. "I completely agree, Mr. Baron. Very fitting indeed." Zemo laughed at the title you bestowed upon him.
Zemo turned his gaze to you, his brown eyes soft and warm as he stared right into your orbs. "I'm glad you agree, meine Schatz. But, please..." The tips of his fingers grazed your shoulder, "Call me Helmut."
A flustered smile formed across your features and your heart began racing. How could you possibly deny this man? "Alright... Helmut."
Zemo had thought you were beautiful from the moment Sam and Bucky introduced you to him at the club. His eyes followed you wherever you went, admiring every inch of your being. Zemo's locked-away heart was rapidly beating in his chest, wanting to escape; and you had the key. At first, he tried to ignore these growing feelings. He hadn't felt this way in a long time; not since he met his late wife. This love, this longing for you, was unfamiliar and frightening. He didn't know if he could do it again, his mind racing with 'what ifs'. What if he did let himself fall for you and you mirrored those feelings? What if something bad happened and you got hurt? What if you didn't even return those feelings? What if you hated him? Would he be alone forever? He had accepted that a long time ago. All those thoughts swirled inside his mind, making him feel sick to his stomach.
But then, in the quiet moments, when you were both relaxing in his Latvian home, he realized that he had fallen for you. Hard.
~~~
After defeating the Flag-Smashers, stopping the serum, and the Dora Milaje wanted Zemo. You were scared when they first came to take him away, you stayed close to Helmut's side, thankful that they gave him more time. Those extra eight hours gave you and Helmut enough time to think of what to do. Without Bucky or Sam even suspecting anything, you and Helmut were able to escape. It was a hard task, but the two of you were able to ride off in one of Helmut's fancy cars, right off into the sunset. You almost felt bad for Sam and Bucky, after they had asked for your help, only for you to run off with the man who caused so much pain and mischief. But, when you turned to gaze at the man behind the wheel beside you, the wind blowing through your hair and the sun gently setting on the horizon behind the two of you, you didn't care anymore.
"They are going to take you away, Helmut." You stared desperately up at him, your fingers clenched around the sleeve of his expensive coat.
"It doesn't matter now, my Y/N." He said softly, taking your hands into his. "There is no point worrying about it. I can not stop them this time. I have to go with them."
You rapidly shook your head, "No, Hel, you don't. You deserve a second chance." You pledged, "I cannot allow them to take you away."
He pulled your hands into his, intertwining his fingers with yours, and leaned into your palm, staring lovingly into your eyes. "Please, Y/N, do not try to stop them. It won't be possible."
You frowned deeply, looking down at your shoes, pressed toe to toe with one another, you closed your eyes, tears threatening to spill as you tried to control your breathing. "We don't have to stop them if we leave, Helmut. We can escape and run away. We can restart our lives... You can be free."
He gently ran a finger under your chin, lifting your head up to look at him. He was smiling down at you sweetly, his eyes sparkling with adoration. "My sweet Y/N," He whispered. "They will hunt us down like animals. They will come for you. I can not let that happen."
You felt the tears fall down your cheeks, "I don't care." You cried, "Even if you don't believe it, you deserve a second chance. I know how much pain you have suffered and how much you have struggled. Please, Helmut, don't go."
His hand reached up and wiped a tear off your cheek, cupping your face tenderly. Leaning down, Helmut's eyes fluttered shut as his lips touched yours gently; brushing against you like a feather. He paused, his breathing shallow, and his lips hovering over yours, waiting for your response. You didn't waste another second, leaning up a little bit to press your lips against his, kissing him passionately, feeling his kiss returning your passion. His hands came to rest around your waist and you could feel yourself melt into his hold. His lips moved perfectly against your own as he deepened the kiss, pulling you closer to him until there was no space between you two. Your hands made their way around his shoulders, the fur of his coat tickling you slightly as your fingers raked through the hair on the nape of his neck.
After what seemed like an eternity, you broke apart slightly to catch your breath. Your hands still held onto him tightly as you looked him in the eyes. Your heart swelled as you gazed into his eyes filled with adoration, "Helmut..." You muttered breathlessly, your voice barely audible.
His hand trailed its way up to your face once again, gently wiping the wetness from your cheeks with his thumb. He smiled softly down at you, placing a gentle kiss on your forehead. His nose brushed against yours lightly, as a faint smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. "We should leave soon, my love. We don't want to get caught."
You were free. For the first time in years, you finally felt happy. You felt truly happy.
~~~
You never thought you'd fall in love. You never thought you'd have that chance to find someone who loved you for you. You had accepted that fact and had lived your life that way, but, here you were; tangled in the silk sheets of a king-sized bed. The sun softly shone through the small opening in the curtain, casting warm rays upon your soft skin, making you feel sleepy. You turned over, wrapping your arms around a very familiar body. A body that belonged to the man you loved so dearly. You smiled as you kissed along his jawline, before closing your eyes and nuzzling your face into his warm neck. You could feel him smile, kissing your temple tenderly. "Good morning, meine Schatz," He mumbled in that raspy, husky voice. You smiled even wider.
"Morning, Hel." You sighed out softly, your fingers running up and down his spine, and he hummed contently. You snuggled closer, sighing contentedly; enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.
"What should we do today, my love?" He asked, his fingers slowly, soothingly, running up and down your arm, caressing your own skin. You smiled, pressing your lips against his throat.
"I don't know. I mean, it's Sunday, we could stay in bed all day..." You replied, trailing your fingers across the bare skin on his chest.
"I'm not opposed to that," He murmured. "If you wish it, we can stay here as long as you desire, my dove."
You giggled, burying your face deeper in his neck. "That sounds perfect, darling." You replied, letting out a sigh as you felt the warmth of his body surround you.
