Ugh, I got to talk with my rabbi again and getting to talk about Psalms and then g-d and why g-d decided to leave His nature open-ended and then about how I feel about am yisrael and how I now can't stop thinking, "these are my people" and why I have such a complex relationship with yisrael was honestly kind of healing. I also told him what my hebrew name will be and now two people in the world know it, and there's something special about that, too. trying to write something about how much i hate the ‘misandry in utena/the utena fandom’ crowd but it feels kind of redundant to me. i think i just don’t consider people who use the word ‘misandry’ serious people. i do however feel an obligation to occasionally make my position clear on that front, because im aware i tougapost and some people love to bring that guy up as the misandry in the utena fandom poster boy. which is so fucking stupid because touga is not victimised by ‘misandry’, touga is victimised by homophobic violence which is wrapped up in misogynistic violence, both of which are the cogs in the machine we call patriarchy. touga is not affected by misogyny in the same way that anthy is, that’s one of the key takeaways you can get from their being foils, and i don’t really like the whole ‘oh patriarchy hurts men too’ stuff because it neglects the fact that men reap so many material benefits from what some people deem ‘harm’ to them (emotional repression being the big one. it’s not great but when you’re the privileged party and gain power from it, who cares? it’s like the inverse of kozue trying to use sexuality to gain power: she can’t do that). but touga is a shitty dysfunctional person who has been shaped by violence and in turn perpetuated violence, and his character excels, imho, at examining how patriarchy functions and attempts to homogenise life’s many complexities. same deal as nanami really. they just play different roles in this gender essentialist nightmare that crunches out any grit. and you can extend that idea to all rgu characters but i am who i am and that is a kiryuu siblings enjoyer

vegan moral opposition to leather is so fucking stupid like, listen, that animal is gonna be killed anyways, you are quite literally never going to convince everyone to stop eating meat/dairy/eggs/etc, and even if you somehow did it'd be ecologically disasterous, humans are an omnivourous species that can have a symbiotic relationship with the animals around them, but thats been fucked over by industrialisation, urbanisation, and capitalism, which are all things we can fix, instead of magically expecting most or all of the population to somehow abanon entire food groups that provide multiple nutrients and let both livestock and predator populations go wholly unchecked, which in turn will wreak havoc on agriculture and the ocean and the rest of the environment, so like if we're gonna be killing animals to eat them anyways, since its pretty damn important for us and them that we do at least sometimes, the fucking least we can do is use as much of the animal as is possible, which includes making leather out of it, which need i remind everyone is also far more sustainable and enviromentally concious than that microplastic pleather bullshit that barely lasts 5 years

I just had a dream where I was in Storybrooke and Snow and I were trying to hide a horse from Rumple (not Gold. His scaly lizard form). Then he (along with a crowd) caught up to us and we were begging him not to take the poor horse. But he says it's the last horse in his Bingo card. (Huh?)

He said it was pure... Then somebody shouted, "Why not take Sweetfoot, then?" Then Dunk busts in through a wall and yells, "DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH SWEETFOOT!"

Rumple says he won't because he needs a pure dark heart. And "Oh no, time's almost up." The horse we were protecting started smoking, vibrating, and making weird noises that got louder and louder.

Then I woke up. My phone was vibrating and making said "weird noise". Thankfully, not smoking. It was my alarm.
