actually really curious to know, whose pov do you like writing from the most? like with bimboverse it has to be max, monday verse it feels natural to switch between the two of them. But is there one you prefer? one that feels more natural?

oooh fun question tysm!! 🤩 honestly it does kinda depend for me on a fic-by-fic basis (and usually i have a pretty strong idea as soon as i come up with the plot whose pov it should be from) but i would say in general when i write lando-centric fics i like writing from the other pov best.

i do really enjoy writing lando pov (the lando-pov mondayverse piece is one of my favourites) but it feels a bit like flying too close to the sun in that i just end up writing self-inserts lmao. it’s so hard not to project onto him! plus i do sometimes get the fear that i’m not getting his inner monologue voice right because he’s got such a specific way of speaking and he’s so steeped in internet lore and it’s just cringe as fuck if it doesn’t come off right. but then that’s also the case with max, so writing nortrell is generally just a stressful time of being like, wow i hope it’s not too obvious that i had to consult urban dictionary in the writing of this 😭

but most of all i LOVE writing him from the outside perspective. i like writing his funny anxious tics and the way he says one thing and acts the opposite way, his flirting and his strange little mannerisms. i especially love writing him from oscar pov because oscar has this lovely balance of noticing things about him (as we know from the constant heart eyes piastri and also the way he constantly drops little references to things lando does and says) but he’s not particularly an overthinker so there’s not the temptation to get bogged down in the inner monologue (which can slow the writing down) that i sometimes get when i’m writing lando or other introspective characters (george, jev).

i remember @strawberry-daiquiris once saying in the tags that the idea of writing nortrell from lando’s perspective is unnatural and wrong, and it makes me laugh every time i think about it bc she’s right!! and i think that’s because max pov reflects the dynamic of their friendship — this is gonna sound like a neg on max but i swear it’s not — where max is kind of in his shadow and knows he owes a lot of his success as a streamer to being Lando Norris’ Mate, and how that complicates their relationship even if it’s not explicitly part of the narrative. they’re very much lando in the centre and max orbiting him, and so it would feel quite strange writing from the other direction you know? but i’d like to give it a go one day just as a fun exercise!

A series like The Acolyte would, undoubtedly, have picked up more viewers discovering it at their own pace on Disney+. The worry here is that Lucasfilm – or the Disney overlords – may be more hesitant to move ahead with original Star Wars stories down the line. The Acolyte was a risk, extricated from the Skywalker Saga. And it took narrative risks too: its unusual structure delivered two equal-and-opposite flashback episodes at apposite points in the season, each illuminating contrasting viewpoints on its central conundrum; in Lee Jung-jae’s compelling Sol, it gave us a Jedi Master character to put your faith in, only to have you, resignedly, root for his demise in the finale; it dared to take several cast members off the board in an astonishing mid-season brawl. [...] For a franchise caught between being reverent to its own near-50-year history and trying to forge a new future, The Acolyte was hell-bent on accelerating both. Meanwhile, those who did support the show are the ones being let down. Fans are not entitled to art; artists are not beholden to their audiences. And yet, Lucasfilm getting behind The Acolyte was a statement of intent: there was a story that demanded to be told here, and it would introduce Star Wars fans into something fresh and new. Not renewing the show for Season 2 feels like a refusal to commit to that story; a creative backing-down, leaving viewers’ personal attachments to the ongoing narrative unfulfilled. Sure, The Acolyte – like any Star Wars series – is an expensive proposition (reportedly $180 million). But the financial investment isn’t just in creating the show itself; it’s in fostering fans’ trust and attention and imagination for the long road. A cultural force like Star Wars can’t afford to be one that lets its fans down. The disappointment, then, is seismic. Which doesn’t take away from what The Acolyte Season 1 gave us. It presented a refreshing take on a galaxy we’ve long come to know; some of the greatest fight choreography in the franchise; connections to deep Expanded Universe lore; a big-screen representation of (the end of) the High Republic; Trinity from The Matrix using Force-fu. Hopefully, in time, more fans will appreciate what The Acolyte achieved – or, at least, strived for. Opinions on Star Wars rarely remain static; this is the way. But like those decisions made by the Brendok Jedi, the choice to end The Acolyte here is flawed; perhaps fatally so. Here’s hoping it doesn’t send more Star Wars fans to the dark side.

literally everything about star wars that’s interesting to me is how the series grew backwards. the world presented in ANH is incredibly bland and basic but it worked and was fun and compelling and then all the collaborative storytelling from people who enjoyed it EXPLODED and gave us a a fucked up decades long (centuries long) (however long ago KOTOR is) saga watching a society reverse engineered by fans into a sprawling, multicultural intergalactic universe of fascinating worldbuilding degrade into the oppressed disaster that it is in the original trilogy, where both good guys and bad are running on scraps and shreds trying to pull it back together.

the sprawling world of the prequel-adjacent content retroactively frames the dismally human/humanoid-centric original trilogy as stemming from a dedicated propagandistic and violent effort to cull less human like populations and suppress the ones that could pass. the vastness of it’s world building gives source to people from myriad real world cultures to see themselves in it and get to make that real via things like the visions series. and this is just half of what “star wars” is - ask someone 25 years ago and it’s an entire other continuity that has its own deep rich lore that didn’t survive the disney acquisition and yet they’re BOTH still so potent. it’s all reinterpretation and collaboration going back to the original star wars in theaters only turning out so well because the editor and the crew poured their hearts into making george’s self indulgent mess into a fun romp that anyone could see themself in

dnf dating, I think from that week around that time they were in la. if I rmb correctly we were bombed with kissgate, cute dategate, dream had a few George centric photodumps on twitter, in a relatively short period of time. unsure if chain lore arose from that period too... but yeah it screamed excitement of a new relationship

YES!!!! i don't know a lot of the fnaf lore well but i love the puppet, i was always so scared of them and they've become such a tragic figure to me :'))

techno IS in this au!! he was niki's close friend and when she went missing, he knew it was tied to the funhouse immediately. he's been working on a plan to bring down q, and eventually teams up with george to help burn the funhouse down. he doesn't appear often in the diskduo-centric pov, but he's a HUGE part of the story. after, he takes tommy in - or what's left of him - to try and help him after everything goes down.

🌆 DTK+/DSMP Euplerian AU Euplerians are a man made species made to replace animals for lab testing, but when the world found out about them they also gained popularity within the pet trade. While they have same logical and emotional intelligence as humans they’re often treated as sub-humans and have few to no legal rights. Because of this they’re easily abused or taken advantage of, resulting in many of them escaping their human care takers to live a harsh but freer life on the streets.

AU is mainly Punz-centric and focuses on Team Chaos and Staged Duo as they survive on streets and slowly start to unearth the true abilities and origins of their species. With the digimon all ending up separated from each other they’re determined to find their friends while their new human partners learn to care for them while also try to under stand where they came from.

🌱🥚  DTK+ Dragon Valley AU A modern fantasy AU inspired by Stardew Valley with a dragon twist. Punz inherits a farm and dragon egg from an unknown relative and while he first planned to sell both the egg hatches under his care. He names the hatchling Sapnap and decides to keep him while they keep living in the city, only remember the farm property a few years later when Sapnap has grown inconveniently big for their city life. They move out to the countryside where Punz soon meets the carpenter and vet tech Foolish, and the adventurer and monster hunter Dream.

🌑💀 DTK+ Dead Space AU Follows the story line and plot of the first two Dead Space games! Sapnap and George, engineer and data annalist, are dispatched to respond a distress signal on board the plate cracker USG Ishimura. Hoping to see their boyfriend Dream who had been assigned to the Ishimura on a 6 month mission they arrive wholly unprepared for the horrors and bloodshed that awaits them.

dream smp possible plotlines:

ghostbur and ghostschlatt happen and they legit don't remember anything. or maybe they vaguely remember some details but their memory gets foggier and foggier as the time pass by. they probably would only remember something in detail if they come in contact with something with a deeper meaning behind it.

maybe we can get schlatt and wilbur to be friends because of it too.

possible possessions? i can see wilbur potentially possessing fundy while schlatt overtakes quackity.

big war for the dream smp vs the badlands. since this is less l'manbeg centric and somewhat a civil war involving those in the dream smp, i would like to see more internal conflict and reluctance with each of their members as they partake in war.

possible fight within the l'manbergian cabinet? tubbo seems awfully stressed by his position, and quackity and fundy is not helping either. tubbo corruption arc, maybe?

please please please more scenarios involving the sbi extended family. i want to see where sally went, i want to see how fundy copes with the unexpected loss of his father despite not having his daddy issues resolved, i want to see phil see how wilbur's death has affected tommy and fundy greatly. give me more familial roleplay goddamnit. i'm not ready to cry.

highly unlikely but it would be funny if the new dream smp members were the “children” of those who are “pregnant” in the server. puffy seems to be a nice candidate for fundy and dream's child, or maybe make it a mamma mia situation since puffy can be george's child too due to the colorblindness. then connor, funnily enough, would be schlatt and quackity's child. just saying, they have the opportunity to make things more dramatic by extending their families. it's as if time is actually passing in the dream smp universe.

dreamon hunting has got to return. with the amounts of ghosts appearing, rituals being performed, and people going insane, i would like to see tubbo, fundy, and sapnap just hunt some dreamons. wilbur admitted on reddit that he considers dream as a non-human, so this could tie in interestingly in the dreamon lore. just saying, think about the aesthetic.

never got to watch smp earth but i can guarantee that techno and phil are going to make their own faction in a snowy or icy biome. return of the arctic empire 'n all.

would like to see george get into the roleplay for once in his goddamn life and abuse his power as king to manipulate people. like schlatt did. and as george blindly followed dream's footsteps during the revolutionary war, i'd like to see a reverse uno and have dream blindly follow george and protect him at all costs.

fundy villain arc? could happen if wilbur's insanity is hereditary.

dream has been really rogue lately, most likely the person in charge of the smp's plotline from now on. with the rise of techno hate within l'manberg, i'd like to see a dream vs techno rematch. you can't tell me that would be an event everyone would be hyped for. i mean, karl's technically there so he can literally facilitate the entire thing.
