The Legend of a Scary Weasley
The first years arriving at the school are terrified, not because of the distance from their families or chance they won't make any friends. It's the warnings they have received from the older students outside of Hogwarts. One might assume it's George or Fred who started it, but in actuality it was Charlie who came up with the idea. He had a small stint of childish pranks that he pulled until he joined the Quidditch team, partly being influenced by his roommates.
Rumors like how Percy could cast numerous amount of spells before you uttered a word, randomly appearing from your shadow and frightening you so badly you'd be petrified, and had more power than some of the Professors combined.
Percy, when younger, was concerned that a majority of first years avoided him because they hated him, and that he wasn't what his last name was made up to believe. He was responsible and obsessed with order, bossy and pompous in their eyes. Now that his older brother confessed what he and his teammates did, he milks it, and tricks some of the first year bullies that he is indeed that powerful student who lives up to the legend. Percy uses his prefect status and vast knowledge to find spots around the school that aids in his ability to appear randomly. The first years grow older and cautious around Percy keeping in the back of their minds of his power. Each year the first years keep the rumor going making Percy the most feared Weasley more so then Fred and George.

what’s your favourite George fic that you didn’t write?
Love this question!!! Means I can give love to other writers woohoo! And tbh I could talk for ages about George writing - I feel like he doesn't get enough written about him!!
The first first first one that came to mind is One Last Night by @thef1diary because if freaking hit me in the heart so strongly and I think about it far too much. If you want a balance of angst and heart wrenching spice, read this NOW.
Speaking of angst and spice balance, A Helping Hand and it's following parts from @futurewdclandonorris was one of my first George universes I read! Smut is chefs kiss and ties in just enough with the angst that it kinda hurts?? But in that nice reading-something-good hurt??
Literally anything by @mrs-saturday as she is one of the only other mainly George x Reader writers on here with me!! But especially Only Bought This Dress So You Can Take It Off had me feeling some kinda way fr-
Corruption Kink by @safetycar-restart put me on something I didn't know I needed tbh. Just a little something that change my world and got my mind going brrrrtttt
And for some dark George, Twisted Game of Hide and Seek by @f1driverszona was my guilty pleasure. Shamelessly had me giggling kicking my feet behind my iPad while reading, catering to a part of me I sometimes suppress LOL
Straying away from xReader now, if you vibe with that!
I discovered Led by a Racing Heart by @landoisokay the other day and this one is artistry. Limited dialogue leaving room for such depth of characterization and everything. I've dabbled in a few more of this author's works but fr I need to properly sit down and read and interact because the writing style is mwah
Eagle Eyed by @prettydangrotten was so freaking addicting and riveting tbh. Every description was incredible and the characterization was nothing short of professional, parts of this fic had me holding my breath fr, and the author's way of writing George was spot onnnn imo.
@starlightiing's Stardew Valley Galex AU was the first AU of hers she told me about so it holds a special place in my heart. The crumbs we have gotten for this one so far are delectable and although Jess is the queen of Pierresteban, this AU's interpretation of Galex is something else!!!!

Has anyone recommended “The Bolt” by draigonboother yet? Legitimately one of my favorite fics and so underrated. So much angst, pining, unrequited love, and the world building is so thoughtful and realistic as well! The writing is absolutely beautiful, I can’t recommend this one enough
Thanks!
The Bolt - draigonboother - M, WIP - A world without Voldemort, in which the Triwizard Tournament occurs in their sixth year. This story navigates Draco's and Hermione's relationship through their sixth and seventh year. Involves secret relationships, pureblood and muggleborn politics, love, and growth. "You're a coward," she says quietly. Her voice is steady. Draco doesn't recognize her, the way she looks at him in that moment; as if she'd seen him fully, thumbed through every thought and feeling, felt the wet pulse of his stuttering heart — and came to an understanding about him in which he has not even begun to realize. "You call me over here whenever you feel like it, you hold my hand, you kiss me — but you won't take me to the ball. You can't even say it directly, whether you like me or not." She releases a breath. "And I let you — I let you do that to me."

Hey! i wanted to know about your thoughts about how Jon would be like post-resurrection with the time skip grrm originally considered?
So that really took hold of me for the first three books. When it became apparent that that had taken hold of me, I came up with the idea of the five-year gap. "Time is not passing here as I want it to pass, so I will jump forward five years in time." And I will come back to these characters when they're a little more grown up. And that is what I tried to do when I started writing Feast for Crows. So [the gap] would have come after A Storm of Swords and before Feast for Crows. But what I soon discovered — and I struggled with this for a year — [the gap] worked well with some characters like Arya — who at end the of Storm of Swords has taken off for Braavos. You can come back five years later, and she has had five years of training and all that. Or Bran, who was taken in by the Children of the Forest and the green ceremony, [so you could] come back to him five years later. That’s good. Works for him. Other characters, it didn’t work at all. I'm writing the Cersei chapters in King's Landing, and saying, "Well yeah, in five years, six different guys have served as Hand and there was this conspiracy four years ago, and this thing happened three years ago." And I'm presenting all of this in flashbacks, and that wasn't working. The other alternative was [that] nothing happened in those five years, which seemed anticlimactic. The Jon Snow stuff was even worse, because at the end of Storm he gets elected Lord Commander. I'm picking up there, and writing "Well five years ago, I was elected Lord Commander. Nothing much has happened since then, but now things are starting to happen again." I finally, after a year, said "I can't make this work."
George R. R. Martin — The Complete Unedited Interview
You know, this is something that I haven't really thought about. I only haven't thought about it because there's something we just don't know: when was George planning to kill Jon with the gap in place? A year or two into the skip? Later? Earlier, or even after the skip, when he's had a few years of rule under his belt? It's probably more likely that it was going to happen after the skip, so I think the end result would be the same as the current book!Jon.
We know that death changes a character to the point where in some ways, they're not that character anymore:
And as I got older and considered it more, it also seemed to me that death doesn’t make you more powerful. That’s, in some ways, me talking to Tolkien in the dialogue, saying, “Yeah, if someone comes back from being dead, especially if they suffer a violent, traumatic death, they’re not going to come back as nice as ever.”
George R. R. Martin on the One Game of Thrones Change He ‘Argued Against’
And we have this, from Varamyr Sixskins:
"They say you forget," Haggon had told him, a few weeks before his own death. "When the man's flesh dies, his spirit lives on inside the beast, but every day his memory fades, and the beast becomes a little less a warg, a little more a wolf, until nothing of the man is left and only the beast remains." (Prologue, ADwD)
Jon's connection to Ghost takes the front seat in ADwD, so we have moments like this:
Jon expected hot mulled wine, and was surprised to find that it was soup, a thin broth that smelled of leeks and carrots but seemed to have no leeks or carrots in it. The smells are stronger in my wolf dreams, he reflected, and food tastes richer too. Ghost is more alive than I am. He left the empty cup upon the forge. (Jon II, ADwD)
--
He was walking beneath the shell of the Lord Commander's Tower, past the spot where Ygritte had died in his arms, when Ghost appeared beside him, his warm breath steaming in the cold. In the moonlight, his red eyes glowed like pools of fire. The taste of hot blood filled Jon's mouth, and he knew that Ghost had killed that night. No, he thought. I am a man, not a wolf. He rubbed his mouth with the back of a gloved hand and spat. (Jon III, ADwD)
--
Jon smelled Tom Barleycorn before he saw him. Or was it Ghost who smelled him? Of late, Jon Snow sometimes felt as if he and the direwolf were one, even awake. The great white wolf appeared first, shaking off the snow. A few moments later Tom was there.
...
The shield that guards the realms of men. Ghost nuzzled up against his shoulder, and Jon draped an arm around him. He could smell Horse's unwashed breeches, the sweet scent Satin combed into his beard, the rank sharp smell of fear, the giant's overpowering musk. He could hear the beating of his own heart. (Jon VII, ADwD)
So ultimately, I think the five year skip!Jon would have the same outcome as the Jon we have in the books: a little ruthless, a little different, and far more closer to Ghost.

Hi ! Do you know any fics where dnf are each others soulmates but they don't know because George is in UK, but they are still YouTubers. So basically real life dnf but soulmates au
All Of Our Memories Ahead by BirbWatcher
Dream has four soulmates that he knows of so far. His mom and sister were obvious, and when he met Sapnap aged 13 at Disneyland, neither of them were surprised when a yellow thread instantly connected them, marking them as platonic soulmates
When Dream meets George online a few years later, he’s sure that they must be soulmates too, somehow, in some way
But Dream already has a red thread to mark his romantic soulmate, tied to a stranger he never properly met. A stranger who can’t possibly be George
My Every Road Leads to You by Goldstone_Wolf
“So.” He started, lifting his chin as he spoke, “Romantic soulmates, huh?” There was a soft smile playing on his lips still. “Does that mean we should kiss?” “I—I—I don’t know maybe if—if you want to? I mean—I wouldn’t—” George snorted. Stepping up on his toes, he leaned in and kissed Dream’s cheek. ~ George and Dream meet up in the airport and find out who their soulmates are in a way that can only be described as classically Dreamnotfound
Impossible Words by arsenicarose
It read, “I love you too.” George’s face twisted up with confusion. How could those be his soulmate’s first words to him?
(AKA Everyone gets a permanent tattoo that shares their soulmate’s first words to them, but George doesn’t think he’ll ever find someone.)
The Two Halves of My Heart by effervescentwolf
If Dream has a perfect soulmate out there, why does his heart belong to George?
Soulmate AU where when one turns 21, whatever they write on their skin also appears on their soulmate.
I was made for loving you by xshittylialife
George is okay with not having a soulmate. He really is. He had years to get used to it.
But his soulmate writing to him now just to tell him they are already in love with someone else? Not so much okay.

Gwen had jumped back into being New York’s one and only Spiderwoman with keen avidity. Jameson had rescinded his accusations; his slanderous campaign had come to a denouement. No more blustering on camera. They were selling her merchandise in stores again— Hobie would be disappointed— but the kids loved it. Her mask was on half-melted popsicle sticks! People waved to her when she passed them by. Role model?– barely. Paragon of goodness?– not exactly. Sort of okay vigilante?– sure. Her reputation had never been more pristine…
Tags: Situationships, Mild Hurt/Comfort, Getting Together, Girlfail Gwen Stacy, Teen Angst, Post ATSV, Gwen-centric
Summary:
Peter wanted to be like her. It was such a ludicrous thought. Was it before she became Spiderwoman? What exactly did he see in her that was so great? __ Gwen Stacy, catching up with everything she's missed.

So This is What it Feels Like to be Home
Lockwood & co. - Lucy/George (focused on them, but loosely framed in eventual cot3)
rated G, 3.9k
Lucy wakes up to a rare quiet day in 35 Portland Row. Lockwood is out running errands and George is at the Archives. Lucy is having a morning tea when George comes home much earlier than Lucy expected him to. Having had a frustratingly fruitless research session, he is deeply disappointed to find the kitchen empty of biscuits. Fortunately, they have everything they need to make their own. Unfortunately, Lucy's never baked in her life. Fortunately again, George is a pretty good teacher.
read it here!!

What if, at the end of the milk bucket game, a bulletproof glass pane comes down at the end of each losing teams corresponding number? Separating the players and keeping the losers from escaping.
(aka this is me giving a 'reason' as to why Hannah and Suzyroxx couldn't move from their pen and gave it my own flair. Spoilers for day 5 of squidcraft 2)
---------------
sc!Hannah being confused when she got back to her teams cow pen. Her going up to it and knocking her knuckles against it, it sounded pretty thick.
And due to it being thick, sound is a little muffled. She couldn't hear her fellow competeters completely but she still gave her ggs. Her and Suzy gave their thoughts on why they couldn't get the buckets acrossed as fast, those things were heavy as fuck. She still got one final laugh out after she asked Aldo and Roier to sing her a song, only for it be some free style rap.
She almost forgot her situation until Sapnap's voice yelled through the glass, clear as day.
"Hannah! Look at me, Hannah! Don't look back!"
Against her better judgement, she looked back. Her heart sank to her stomach once she saw the guard approaching her, assult rifle in hands.
Hannah lets out a cry as she curls up her fists, banging them against the glass. Maybe if she hits hard enough, it will crack. Give leway, something. Seems like Suzy noticed the guard too, as she was also punching against the glass.
But no matter what they did; punching, kicking, throwing their whole body weight against it, the glass didn't budge.
Hannah leaned her body against the glass, winded from using all her energy. This was it, her time was up. Dammit, she wanted to go to the finals, not lose just before it. Now she has to die with a barrier separating her from her friends (Were they still friends at this point?). Reaching over to her right, she grabs Suzy's sweaty hand in a tight grip. Just as strong, Suzy grips hers back.
At least she wont be totally alone.
Hearing a bang against the glass, Hannah looks up to see sc!Sapnap leaning his head against the glass right up against hers, so they were face to face. Sapnap placed his hand palm open on the glass next to his head, and Hannah lifted hers up to place it right over his. She holds back a sob as she does this.
"Look at your friends Hannah! Don't look back, look at your friends, ok?" Sapnap's voice was still clear through the glass. His voice was steady and calm, but it did nothing for her nerves.
Hannah's sobs got loud as she heard the rifle behind her being loaded before the first gunshots rang out. She felt Suzy's grip on her hand loosen as her body fell backward on the ground, the momentum of the fall causing their hands to separate. Blood splattered widely on the glass, but none of the bullets broke through or even cracked the glass. Bulletproof.
Sapnap's voice got more frantic as he saw the gun point towards Hannah, "Keep looking at your friends Hannah! We'll win this for you! You hear me, we'll win this for you!"
Hannah didn't get to respond as she felt the searing pain before she hear the gunshot. Her knees fell underneath her, and she fell down to her side. Her ears were ringing, but she could still hear her friends crying out for her and banging against the glass.
She couldn't help but let out a small chuckle as her last breath. Guess they were friends in the end.
