The other day one of my profs was standing like this (& fidgeting with a pen) while talking to us and I'm like "wow that's such an Ace Trappola pose" so I had to redraw it

In hindsight I think he probably stood like that bc his feet hurt...

Hi, sorry to be a bother but do you have a tag for posts explaining how you draw/colour? I think I remember seeing one of your posts on shading/colouring technique and I can’t seem to find it, your art is so pretty and the way you use colour makes me speechless every time.

hopefully that helps!! I've mostly been eyeballing colors nowadays but layer modes can also help you pop your saturation or lighting/shading :> just be sure to pay attention to how bright your colors are overall, the method I use to make the colors feel vibrant is to pair it next to a more muted color/one that contrasts it on the color wheel

ever since i saw that one promo poster i’ve vaguely wanted to redraw it because it looked it had Fun Character Shapes. i finally did it and i was right, there *were* lots of Fun Character Shapes to draw. also, fun colors and patterns! thank you sparrow ben and klaus for your fashions

alright so I know there are some people that preach math lover neil josten (me included) and they hc him to be really good at it but I’ve been thinking: what if we take it a step further. like neil seeing the entire world through math, on top of being freakishly good at it.

the foxes don’t even realize it at first. neil has always had to blend with the average so he never spoke a word about it, but then, when he became a real boy and could stop worrying only about survival, it started coming out. like, one day he corrects kevin’s aim by telling him to rotate his wrist 15° to the left when making shots and low and behold, kevin starts getting even more points in games. some other time the foxes ask him how he always gets andrew’s passes during games and neil tells them that the arch the ball makes is the same as the graph of his favourite childhood function. the foxes honestly think he’s fucking with them until one day they’re discussing how neil can always differentiate andrew from aaron and after giving the usual spiel about how different they are neil rattles out the exact coordinates of andrew’s freckles in the coordinate system. and, well, the foxes have to believe him then bc if there’s one thing neil has never been not serious about it’s andrew.

(it also makes him a really fucking solid shot - both in exy and in guns)

The Actor Hezekiah Washington As Julian Carlton, Taliesin Murder Of Frank Lloyd Wright Family - Kerry James Marshall (2009)

"Kerry James Marshall is known for his arresting paintings featuring Black men and women done in an unapologetic, dark hue, calling to attention to ubiquity of White People depicted throughout Art History (and subsequent rarity of Black representation). Menacing in its gaze, He paints us a portrait of an angry, troubled man. The man is Julian Carlton, a hired hand for architect Frank Lloyd Wright who ended up murdering 7 people (including Wright's lover and her two children) and burned the house down. Yet, Marshall keeps us at a distance by not portraying Carlton himself but instead showing actor Hezekiah Washington (an imaginary character). Though Carlton readily admitted responsibility for the murders, he kept his motives secret. By having an actor portray Carlton, an imaginary actor no less, Marshall plays with the concept of concealment, obscurity, and invisibility in a subtle way.
