Almost done! Just poured the resin, now it's got to sit for a bit and level out. Then 24 hours of curing before I put the paint lines on. Then it will be clear coat and finished by Friday!

So excited to see how this comes out!

One of the millions of things that I create is framed geodes and fluid art.

If you are an artist, then you know how expensive art supplies are...especially canvases!

One of the things that I do that actually saves me quite a bit of money, is that I will go to yard sales, find things discarded on a corner after people clean out their homes for spring cleaning etc., go to thrift stores, venture out to Savers/GoodWill, and the Salvation Army is I will buy old frames and/or old framed (horrible hotel like artwork) and I will use those as my canvas.

I will do a major clean on the items, because they're typically ick (and because the paint/resin etc. will hold better), and I will use the glass as my, "canvas." It also works waaaaaay better because it's glass and the fluids will create a much better pattern...at least in my opinion.

And for embellishments, I'll buy super old jewelry at these places as well.

So, if you are into art and want to save some money...there's a tip for you!!!

If we’re not careful, the animals we share this world with could become nothing more than relics of the past, preserved behind glass in museum displays, like gemstones in a cabinet. But perhaps, even through the glass, their stories might remind us of what still can be saved.
