haven't kept up with miraculous ladybug in years but a fic idea that's lived rent free in my brain is a transfem!adrien lesbian!marinette reverse love square where when adrien gets the black cat miraculous her hero form is a girl and she's like "wow this is so smart, so secret identity, nobody will ever suspect i’m chat noire because chat noire is a girl and adrien agreste is a boy" and plagg, knowing that this is Not the case at all for miraculous holders and it is, in fact, a reflection of the subconscious, says nothing because Don't Crack the Egg. adrien has a crush on marinette but she feels bad about it because marinette is openly a lesbian and adrien's like "if only i could be chat noire forever so i can be with marinette", marinette has a crush on chat noire, it's great.

i love venom (2018) a lot, it’s my go-to movie when i’m bored or sad, i have seen it many many times. i saw it again a week or so ago with a bud and finally had the opportunity to pen down this lovely au i’ve been thinkin bout

i’ve got a much more fleshed out sketch of how this au plays out. not sure if i’ll write it yet

anyway some bullet points

noir (called, ofc, noir) arrives on earth-138 in the 1920s. his first host is robbie and they basically go through the venom movie, where noir slowly learns to love earth and humanity and all that jazz. up until the 50s or so they’re an investigative reporter and occasionally a scary vigilante superhero!

when robbie is killed (not ewaf style. i forbid it), it fucking devastates noir and he host-hops for a bit, doing fun anarchy things to keep up robbie’s legacy but also losing a few morals here and there. he can do a little murder and eat nazis as a treat

the symbiotes arrive en masse and osborn infects humans with them to turn into his fascist riot police army

through vampire-hunting-esque shenanigans, hobie and noir meet, and strike up a tenuous truce to fight the government. hobie does not like him at first, but noir very much does ;)

cue a slow burn gothic romance between a freedom fighter and a devoted monster <3

So not only are you being overly pretentious by insisting on using scientific terminology for everyday items, you are factually wrong. Your arrogance is your downfall, you annoying little shit.

just watched vide noir (2022) and i have to say the tragedy of a man whose love leaves him because he wasn't what she needed him to be, who through his journey to find her again became the man she wanted him to be so that he could get to her, only to reach her and find that it's too late to get her back, who grew and changed in his quest for someone who was always going to be out of his reach and he didn't know it until he'd undergone that change?? that shit fucks oh my god.

Do you have any favorite salt fics?

😔 no. I tend to not like salt fics because they have wayy too much vitriol, and in my opinion, you always have to add a bit of love. If you write a character meant to come off as an asshole and you don't at least have a little bit of endearment towards them, you won't be able to properly handle them.

For example, I'd much rather see a "class salt" fic that fully accepts and cherishes the premise that the class is a hivemind that believes just about anything and takes that to the extreme of Marinette and Lila warring over what absurd things they can see to sway the opinion in their favor... over Marinette getting shit on by her classmates and moving to San Francisco or whatever, getting stupid rich, and then coming back to gloat. If you're spending too much time proving to fictional characters that they shouldn't've done that thing they were written to do, then you're not having fun.

I wouldn't really even call what I write salt fics towards anybody, more of a "break-it-to-fix-it" fic. I think it's much more productive and interesting to "salt"(?) on larger aspects of canon rather than focus on whatever antiblorbo said the thing you didn't like.

Then again, I'm probably biased since I find standard "salt-deserving" moments to be my favorite. Adrien siding with Lila is so interesting, and I am absolutely in love with the idea that he defends her because he feels personally attacked by Marinette having a problems with a liar. His whole life has been him putting on an act to please others, so if it's bad when Lila does it, what does that say about him? etc etc.

jk it was that stupid ficlet about adrien not taking covid seriously that was so funny. 10/10 masterpiece
