Letter from Princess Grace from her friend Prudence "Prudy" Wise dated in 1964.

Dear Prudy,

Thank you so much for sending the darling pictures. Your angel is precious, and you both must be out of your minds over this. I also loved seeing the portrait in the background. It is excellent, although it is still a bit of a surprise when I see a photo of you as a blond in person. It seems quite natural and normal, funny.

Am sorry not to have seen you on my brief trip last month but I was there and back before I knew I was gone. It was nice to see the family and they are all well. Peggy is married again to a boy named Gene Conlan. Meg is at Bucknell University and loves it. She is majoring in mathematics. She has turned into a darling girl. Of course, the family was very upset and heartbroken over Mary Lee running away. She did not like the idea of her mother remarrying and had been in love with this boy of 18 for some time and she had been forbidden to see him. Anyway, she is now in Nebraska and expecting a baby. Peggy refuses to see her and is quite bitter about the whole affair. Mother and Liz are in contact with her and mother will go out to be with her when the baby arrives.

We had a nice Christmas. Christmas Eve is always wonderful and moving, with our midnight mass in the chapel. Afterwards, we had a buffet supper with family and friends. The next day, we had six sailors from the 6th Fleet for Christmas dinner. They were very sweet, and for most of them, it was their first Christmas away from home. This year, it was hard to get into a gay spirit. I think everyone felt a cloud over all the festivities(*). We spent a quiet New Year at Rocagel.

“No. Ye're gonna knock my ass out later the ol’ fashioned way,” Ronan promised Gael after their final kiss. 'With that pussy magic she wielded so well', was implied by a Murphy standard wink through cigarette smoke. Oh, he was smoking again, the Irishman had retrieved the still smoldering stick unconsciously. Kiernan’s effect on him.

He filed out of the bedroom behind Gael and passed Kiernan just generally ignoring his older brother’s vibe. Not a birb. Not nine out of ten. Ronan did however ruffle Kellan’s hair when the two met in the hallway. “It’s where the Tik Tok of Gene Kelly dancin’ with the cartoon mouse came from,” Ronan explained in a language Kellan could understand.

Lorna sighed as the Murphys filed in. How had Kiernan roped her into this? She was already reading in the family’s common room, alone. When Morgan appeared from his cupboard she made sure the spot on the couch beside her was free. For Gael. She waved the smallest Murphy toward her with the magazine she had been enjoying.

Conlan perched on the end of the sofa and tried to keep a low profile. Can’t have the group turn against him, he had said the words that ruffled Kiernan’s feathers.

Lochlan stumbled in. “Bit early?” He wiped the sleep from his eyes and noticed the clock on the wall said 1:13pm.

Okay, Popeye.

“What do ye mean?” Conlan said. Exasperated by Ronan’s mad answer to his simple question. “Just because ye look good in a stockin’ cap and peacoat doesn’t mean yer a sailor… or a space viking?”

Ronan, not prepared for the role reversal of Conlan criticizing him, attempted to shoo Conlan like the annoying bug he was. “Ye asked. I answered.” He continued to stuff clothes into his mostly full duffel bag, until Conny’s dumb face was too much to ignore. “I spent a year on a transport ship going back and forth across the Mediterranean, alright?”

“Ye fuckin’ kiddin’, right?” Conlan said. Flabbergasted. “Okay, Popeye. Before ye pack all yer spinach.”

“Fuck ye, Conlan.” Ronan said.

“You volunteered for an Asgardian Viking spaceship, Captain Ahab.” Conlan said. His mind was entirely blown.

“Fuck ye, ya moby dick.” Ronan said.

“Okay, Horatio blow yer own horn. Ye paddled around the Mediterranean Sea for a semester and now ye need to what - be a whaler on the moon?” Conlan said - then pantomimed a harpoon throw.

Ronan finally stopped and looked at his younger brother fully. “What else am I doin’ here, Conny?” For months, Ronan had felt increasingly out of place in the Asgardian future of it all. “I tried. But I need to feel useful and if ye aren’t useful on a ship they at least do the merciful thing and toss ye overboard.”

“I turn my back for one minute… and you run off and join the navy.” Conlan faked a sniffle, though he wasn’t done with this conversation. Clearly, Kiernan needed to be looped in.

“Fuck ye, Conny.” Ronan smirked and shoved Conlan away, albeit playfully.

Lộ Danh Tính Nhân Vật Phản Diện Của Captain Marvel?

Captain Marvel là một trong những dự án của MCU gây chú ý nhất tại thời điểm này. Dù sẽ được bấm máy vào tháng 3 năm sau nhưng thông tin về dự án này vẫn rất còn ít ỏi.

Hiện tại, Captain Marvel đang trong quá trình hoàn thiện dàn diễn viên, chúng ta đều biết nữ diễn viên từng chiến thắng giải Oscar – Brie Larson sẽ thủ vai nữ chính – Carol Danvers hay thường được biết đến dưới cái tên là Captain Marvel, mới đây đoàn làm phim đã chào đón thêm tài tử Jude Law, vai diễn của anh là một trong những nhân vật khá quan trọng – Mar Vell hay Dr. Richard Lawson (theo nguyên tác truyện tranh thì nhân vật này là Captain Marvel đầu tiên) và nam diễn viên gạo cội Ben Mendelsohn sẽ vào vai phản diện chính của phim. Cũng giống như trường hợp của các dự án phim Marvel khác, danh tính nhân vật của Ben Mendelsohn vẫn đang được giữ bí mật, tuy nhiên  những nguồn thông tin đang được chia sẻ trên mạng đang đưa ra những manh mối về thân phận của nhân vật này. Thực tế thì đây chỉ ứng cử viên tiềm năng số một và chưa có bất cứ xác nhận nào từ phía Marvel, quý vị độc giả nên cân nhắc bài viết này mang tính chất tham khảo, suy luận và dự đoán.

Vai diễn của Ben Mendensohn vẫn chưa được công bố

  Theo đó thì Ben Mendelsoh sẽ vào vai Yon-Rogg – một trong những kẻ thù lớn và nguy hiểm nhất mà Captain Marvel từng phải đối mặt. Các nguồn tin đều chia sẻ rằng một người giấu tên có quan hệ  thân thiết với đoàn làm phim  đã xác nhận rằng những bước cuối để chuẩn bị cho quá trình sản xuất đang được hoàn thiện nốt, dù phần đã tìm được phần lớn dàn diễn viên nhưng mới chỉ có một phần nhỏ của trường mới được hoàn thiện. Nguồn tin này cũng không đề cập cụ thể đến từng chi tiết của quá trình sản xuất, nhìn chung thì  “vẫn còn rất nhiều phần và nhiều thứ cần được chuẩn bị” nhưng thời điểm bấm máy đã được ấn định nên chắc chắn rằng công việc sẽ được đẩy nhanh tiến độ để bắt kịp kế hoạch. Cùng với đó thì nguồn tin cũng chỉ ra rất nhiều manh mối và gợi ý, tất cả đều dẫn đến nhân vật Yon-Rogg.

Nguồn tin này cho rằng Yon-Rogg chính là nhân vật phản diện trong Captain Marvel

  Yon-Rogg là nhân vật được tạo ra bởi chính “bố già” Stan Lee và họa sỹ Gene Conlan hơn 50 trước, nhân vật này xuất hiện lần đầu trong tập truyện Marvel Super Heroes số #12, đây cũng là tập truyện đánh dấu lần đầu tiên xuất hiện của siêu anh hùng người Kree là Mar-Vell, Una và Zarek. Cũng giống như Mar-Vell, Yon Rogg là một chiến binh của quân đội người Kree, hắn thậm chí còn là chỉ huy của con tàu chiến có tên Helion (đây chính là con tàu được gửi tới Trái Đất bởi Kree’s Supreme Intelligence). Trong truyện tranh, Yon-Rogg cũng có rất nhiều khả năng đặc biệt bao gồm siêu sức mạnh, siêu nhanh, siêu sức bền và khả năng cận chiến vô cùng điêu luyện, điểm yếu lớn nhất của hắn chính là sự đố kỵ với những thành công của người khác. Marvell cũng là một trong những người được Supreme Intelligence cử lên Helion để thăm dò Trái Đất, tuy nhiên tên đê tiện Yon-Rogg với lòng đố kỵ và sự ghen tị đã cố tình vu oan và phá hoại Mar-Vell và khiến anh bị trục xuất xuống Trái Đất để chiếm lấy tình cảm của Una, về phần Mar-Vell sau khi phải xuống Trái Đất anh đã lấy tên là Drr. Walter Lawson và lấy thân phận là một nhà khoa học cho tới khi Carol Danvers xuất hiện có được năng lực và trở thành bạn của Mar-Vell.

Captain Marvel sẽ dựa vào phần lớn cốt truyện từ truyện tranh

  Không dừng lại ở đó, Yon-Rogg lên kế hoạch để tiêu diệt Mar-Vell và điều này đã giúp cho Carol vô tình có được những khả năng đặc biệt và trở thành Captain Marvel. Carol Danvers là một trong những phi công của lực lượng không quân Hoa Kỳ, , trong một lần tình cờ, Carol không may bị dính vào vụ nổ thiết bị của người Kree và từ đó bộ mã gen của cô và mã gen của người Kree đã bị xáo trộn, dẫn đến sự thay đổi và Carol trở thành Ms.Marvel, Carol được Mar-Vell hướng dẫn và sử dụng năng lực của mình, cả hai đã trở thành bạn và cùng chiến đấu, sau này Mar-Vell đã thuyết phục Carol trở thành Captain Marvel. Ngoài ra nguồn tin này cũng xác nhận rằng kịch bản của bộ phim sẽ được dựa phần lớn cốt truyện và nội dung trong truyện tranh, được biết kịch bản ban đầu của bộ phim do Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy) và Meg LeFauve (Inside Out) chắp bút, tuy nhiên hiện tại thì kịch bản đang được chỉnh sửa lại nên chưa thể chắc chắn rằng những chi tiết trong truyện tranh sẽ được mang lên màn ảnh rộng.

Tất cả các manh mối đều dẫn tới Yon-Rogg

  Captain Marvel sẽ được được dàn dựng và chỉ đạo bởi bộ đôi đạo diễn Ryan Fleck (Half Nelson, Mississipippi Grind) từ kịch bản do Geneva Robertson-Dworet sửa đổi. Nhà biên kịch cũng xác nhận rằng bản kịch bản của cô dựa hoàn toàn vào kịch bản gốc ban đầu của Perlman và LeFauve và chỉnh sửa các chi tiết cho hợp lý hơn. Ngày chính thức có mặt tại các rạp chiếu phim do Marvel ấn định cho bộ phim là ngày 8 tháng 3 năm 2019 – khoảng thời gian giữa 2 phim Avengers: Infinity War và Avengers 4.  Như đề cập ở trên thì thông tin về vai diễn phản diện của phim vẫn chưa được Marvel hay bất kỳ ai trong đoàn làm phim xác nhận, nên có lẽ phải một thời gian nữa khi bộ phim chính thức được sản xuất chúng ta mới nhận được bảng phân vai của nhà sản xuất.
