Hi! How are you? I absolutely adore your stories and I was hoping you could give me some advice on something. Feel free not to answer of course. :)
So I have this friend and we’ve been really close for like four years but recently I feel like she doesn’t actually see me as myself. Im gender-fluid and typically I prefer more masculine or gender neutral terms and pronouns but I’m usually perceived as a girl because my agab is female and I dress pretty feminine so I’m only really out to my friends. Recently though I’ve noticed that this particular friend (she’s a cis girl) typically refers to me using overly feminine terms. I’ve been out to her for about a year and I know she’s not doing it on purpose but it still makes me really uncomfortable whenever she does it. Mostly I don’t mind when my friends use she/her pronouns or feminine terms for me but with her it feels like these terms are coupled with the fact that she considers me to be innocent and soft which I think is why it makes me so uncomfortable. (She basically just randomly brings up how I’m more innocent than her sometimes and I’m pretty sure she subconsciously associates innocence and softness with femininity she also does not see either of those traits as good things) She often also refers to herself with overly masculine terms like “I’m the most gentlemanly here” which makes me feel bad for wanting to say something because she finds joy in being masculine when compared to others. I love that presenting more masculine makes her feel like herself but it feels like she undermines my masculinity and how I feel to emphasize her masculine traits. Anyways if you reply thanks because I don’t really know anyone irl who might be able to understand this particular situation and idk how to tell her that I’m uncomfortable in a way that will make her listen. :)
Hi!
I can totally understand why this is frustrating. Have you told your friend how you feel? It could be that she doesn't understand or realize what she's doing. I know it can be scary to advocate for yourself like that, but it's important to make sure she knows how you feel and what your boundaries are. If she's still acting like this after you do that then I'd start to question if she's respecting you, you know?

Seeing your post on gender-fluidity and kimono, I have a story! While I was in Kyoto for my honeymoon, my wife and I wore kimono - first time properly wearing it (I have a yukata that my neighbour gave me many years ago, but I just used it as a summer robe, no obi or anything). My wife is a trans woman, and we'd already told the rental company that ahead of time for sizing reasons - but when we got there, I was surprised when, after finding my wife's kimono, they turned to me and asked me which gendered style of kimono I wanted to wear! I didn't think the men's ones would suit me (I didn't realise otoko-poi was something that existed at the time) - but I do identify as genderqueer and my hair was/is too short to do anything fancy with, so, rather than doing up my hair with a nice hair ornament, I asked if I could wear one of the trilby hats that they normally paired with the men's kimono. We both looked amazing that day, and I'm so grateful they were willing to accommodate us!
Anon you have no idea how fuzzy that story makes me! I am so glad to hear a Japanese business story showing that Japan can get more and more accepting of LGBT+ spectrum, and that it is happening!
There is still a loooong way to go, but small steps and kind attentions like those make the world a better place <3
:D Thanks again for sharing your story :D
[I don't know if you are confortable sharing details, if so maybe you could recommend the business name?]

he’s my girl — golden retriever! theo nott x genderfluid! reader
requested by 🦕!
Tumblr media
it’s 2am let me be delulu and imagine theo as a golden retriever white boy k tysm
very short and very unedited bc i’m very sleepy xx
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
“Who in Merlin’s name are you?”
You frowned, your fingers pausing halfway through their task of buckling your bookbag. “What’s your deal, babe?”
Theo blinked. “…Y/n?”
“In the flesh,” you said dryly, turning back around to your Transfiguration class’ desk and gathering up the last of your things.
Theo just stared.
“Y/n?”
“What, Theodore?”
He blinked again. “Why are you— why are you wearing a skirt?”
“Because it’s part of the uniform, Theodore.”
The poor boy looked so confused, his mouth opening and closing wordlessly. “I— uh— okay. You look pretty.”
“Thank you, darling.”
~~~
“Are you still my boyfriend?”
You stiffened as he approached your table in the library and sat down across from you, immediately jumping on the defensive. “Are you already breaking up with me? We’ve barely been together two days, Nott.”
“What? No! No— just—” Theo floundered, desperately trying to not come off as a grade-A douchebag. “Uh— just— are you my boyfriend? Or my girlfriend?”
You paused. “What, like— right now?”
“Yeah.” He shrugged awkwardly.
“Girlfriend.”
“Okay. Do you wanna go get lunch now?”
~~~
“…and my girlfriend, Y/n—”
“Boyfriend.”
“Wh— uh. Yeah. Uh. Boyfriend. Right. Anyways. So. My boyfriend, Y/n—”
~~~
You shifted uncomfortably in your seat. You were stuck in detention with Theo, writing lines, when you’d been struck by sudden and aggressive gender dysphoria.
You normally would’ve just Transfigured your uniform skirt into a pair of trousers, but McGonagall had confiscated your wand before you started your detention.
After a solid minute, Theo couldn’t help but notice your continued squirming. “What’s wrong, darling?”
“Dysphoria,” you grumbled, wiping your lip gloss-covered lips on the back of your hand to remove the faint glittery substance.
Despite your patient attempt earlier in the day to explain the concept of gender fluidity to him, Theo still didn’t quite grasp it. But he was doing his best.
“Ah. Is it—” He hesitated. “Is it the…skirt?”
“Yeah,” you muttered. “But I don’t have my wand to Transfigure it.”
Theo pondered on how to help you. Surely there was something he could do, right?
~~~
A wolf whistle pierced through the air.
“Lookin’ good, Nott!”
Theo did a little twirl as his friends all cheered and clapped, baffled by the sight of their friend showing up to dinner in the Great Hall, fresh out of detention, in a skirt.
You followed into the Great Hall after him, a small smile on your face, wearing his uniform trousers on your body.

I swear to actual Gog no nom-transfem outside of Tumblr actually understands June as a character and it will be the death of me. If I see another cavalcade of people turn up at the slightest mention of her name saying "ohhh I don't see it, I don't think it makes sense, tbh it'd just be better if they didn't at this point" I'm going to turn into the Joker. I read further down on that "June would be better as a trans guy imo I'm not transmisogynistic I mean femtransphobic" reddit thread and it made me want to become a nomad wandering the Appalachian peaks
Yeah like I'm gonna be real. I think entering fandom and using characters as nothing more than a source for projection really screws up your actual reading of the text (said as someone who has done that before!) And if you're unwilling to let go of that interpretation, you're going to be operating in a fundamentally different reality than everyone else who bothers to read the text.
June at this point is on the edge of becoming canon. She's been "canon" for years now, the evidence and reading of June as transfem has been thoroughly documented and discussed. She is a thing. That is happening. And while Homestuck often draws in fandom ideas and discussion, it's rarely going off of things that weren't at least partially in the text themselves.
I don't hold all of Homestuck's text as scripture. My distaste for, say, transmasc Roxy, has been growing as I actually began to read and understand more. And if people want good transmasc readings, there are plenty of great options! Jane, Dirk, Aradia and Nepeta are all wonderful examples of strong transmasc readings. I'd say there are, on the whole, maybe fewer than transfem readings, just because Homestuck is a very transfeminine story. It's about trying to escape and defeat the ultimate force of masculinity that pervades and lords over the story, contrasted by the Space aspect, which has some of the most transfeminine goddamn characters in the whole comic (even a basically canonical one in Calliope). It's a story with Vriska Goddamn Serket in it for the love of god!!!!
Also not to get too deep into the weeds but arguments like "well she actually admired her dad a lot and wanted to be like him" seem to forget the Literal Familial Strife he had with his dad every day, or the fact that his dad always seems to be a bit of a sore subject, or maybe, perhaps, John is not always being one hundred percent honest about his feelings about his father who died when he was thirteen. Honestly, even outside of a transfeminine interpretation, it's just a deeply surface-level reading of John.

hey shoutout to lesboys who identify as such for ANY reason
to lesboys who are tomboys
to lesboys who use the term as an expression of masculinity
to lesboys who enjoy being called terms like boy, man, etc. whose gender still isn't man
to lesboys who's system uses it as a collective identity
to lesboys who are butch and/or transmasc
to lesboys who are genderfluid, bigender, multigender, and loves using the term to express both their orientation and multigender identity
to lesboys who are ftm
to lesboys who are trans men and still feel connected to lesbian identity
to lesboys who are openly and unashamedly men
you shouldn't have to change yourself or become more palatable to people who only conditionally accept you. you deserve to present yourself however you like and it doesn't matter if other people feel offended by it. a bigoted person feeling hurt about you expressing yourself in a way they don't like is not a tangible form of hurt

Hi it’s 🚬🎀 anon again, I gave you a break from writing these so you didn’t get too annoyed but imagine the angst of someone getting fed up with the fact that she still slightly wants her father’s love, so at one point someone just says something like “Your father doesn’t love you, stop hoping he will.” But they just keep laying into it and just keep going to the point of tears. Feel free to age her up slightly because honestly that is pretty harsh to say to a seven year old. It can be anyone from Velvette to even Husk if you want. But seriously, don’t hold back on the Angst because I feel like I’m about to fail my science class and I am desperate to feel anything but the crushing doom that is my impending lecture from my mother. Love your new pfp<3
Thanks, and I’m choosing Velvette because more angst :D
TW/CW:Yandere behavior, unhealthy behavior, unhealthy relationship, abusive behavior, abusive relationship, Velvette fucking lays into a seven year old, this is like…pre angel dust, Degrading and insulting a LITERAL child, tell me if I need to add more
Summary: How stupid were you to think that your dad would ever love you!? At least you can thank someone to give you a ‘reality check’
Tumblr media
Velvette groaned, you were making another drawing for Valentino. Usually she could deal with it but you’ve been doing it over and over! It’s getting on her damn nerves now! She knows you want his love but she knows you’ll never get it either! He doesn’t love you! Yet being a child you have some hope. Yelling as she slammed her phone then looked at you.
“Y/N! He won’t love you! For fucks sakes! Stop hoping he’ll love you!” She shouted at you which made you flinch. You couldn’t say anything as she kept going. “There’s no use of making gifts for him! He’ll keep denying them! He’ll keep ignoring you! He’ll never give you any fucking love! Get that through your thick skull!” She stated very loudly. You were on the verge of tears yet held them in.
One of the demon assistants that liked you rushed over. “Come now little one…let’s go play” they softly said as they picked you up and rushed to your room. You held onto them tightly as you let the tears out. You softly and silently cried. The assistant rubbed your back and bounced you around a bit. As soon as you two got to your room they sat on your bed letting you cry.

I think it makes sense to say that angels as ethereal beings in heaven are sexless but if one or two spend 6000 years on earth BEING male-sexed human bodies it no longer makes sense. As people keep recognising, eating food, drinking and driving fast among other things are all deeply embodied experiences and these have fundamentally changed them as people. The whole Jesus story is the same deal, being embodied human is transformative. We live in a time when the concept of embodiment is deeply unfashionable and Cartesian dualism is entrenched, where endless body mods and casual drugs and careless manipulation of core human physiology is enacted with barely an afterthought for deep-reaching and irreversible consequences, but it's a deeply sick framework for seeing the world
(In response to this meta about ineffables and romance/asexuality)
First of all, they don’t have “male-sexed human bodies.” They are literally "sexless unless they really want to make an effort” (Good Omens, 1990).
Like all of Neil Gaiman’s angels and demons (see The Sandman), Aziraphale and Crowley have no set genitalia, don’t (by default) engage in sexual activity, and they don’t always present or dress as male through history (although they often do).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
critical-gemini-hero (excerpt): "Good Omens is the first big show I’ve seen to basically avoid transphobia all together when the opportunity presented itself, and even say fuck you to the gender binary as a bonus." Neil Gaiman (excerpt): "Thank you! That was definitely what we were going for." (source)
So no, they quite literally do not have “male-sexed human bodies” and they do not ascribe to human gender norms.
In addition, what you are suggesting is that “being in a male human body” equates to “feeling male” and “feeling sexual” because “the body dictates internal experience.”
There are literally millions of people, actual human beings living in physical bodies, who (despite living in culture) still DO NOT feel that the gender assigned to their bodies is reflective of their lived, internal experience. Merely having physical attributes does not mean you have a corresponding internal experience. You can be forced by your parents, teachers, elders, peers and everyone else to FEEL a certain way because of your “sexed human body” but it won’t make it true inside you.
If one's internal experience were so unimportant, then we wouldn't have 82% of transgender individuals consider suicide (source) because of the stigma of trying to get out of the norms assigned to them because of their "sexed human bodies."
Aziraphale and Crowley have lived in history long enough to know how varied and complicated the concepts of gender AND sex have been historically. As spiritual beings, I think seeing how much humanity has varied in its ideas on sex and gender only confirms to them how unlike humans they are (with humanity’s obsession with genitalia, sex, reproduction… food, shelter, warmth, breathing––all things that angels and demons do not need to survive).
They love humanity, they love its pleasures and inventions, but they are still very much detached from it. Looking like humans definitely doesn't help them feel like humans at all. (Look at how they talk about us!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are we, sniffer dogs??? They don't know what we feel like on the inside or how our biology works (we sure ain't sniffer dogs) because despite some surface appearances, they don't have the same internal experiences as us. Despite being here since the dawn of time. Despite looking like us in many ways.
They can magic up clothing and sideburns and eldritch heads to scare trigger-happy corporate men, and yet somehow gender and sex (as specifically Western-binary concepts) are something they'd totally get down with?
Tumblr media
Also, your line of reasoning imagines people having no internal motivation or desire and suddenly get a tattoo and start to become a “bad person” or something. Yes, of course changing our bodies can affect our psychology, but our internal identity much more often influences our bodily choices than the other way around. I'm taking the drugs because I'm already depressed. I'm getting the tat because I want something cool on my body. I'm taking testosterone because I want my inner identity reflected in some ways on my physical body.

Can I just say, it sucks so badly the amount of shit that gets thrown at genderfluid people. So many people, even other trans people, even other NONBINARY people, don't think genderfluidity is real, but they also don't bother to listen to actual fluid people's experiences. Genderfluidity isn't just fluctuating dysphoria or euphoria, it's not just being gender nonconforming, it's a real phenomena that many people experience, no matter their age/culture/birth sex/whatever. I don't think I'm fluid myself, but I did id that way for more than a year, but I can see a lot of parallels as a static enban to the way that people treat nonbinary people. Like, maybe stop assuming things and maybe actually TALK to us, it's really not that hard. It's exhausting, I want to give all of my genderfluid siblings a huge hug

Constantly thinking about how Jaehee was able to body slam Saeyoung, an actual secret agent, in the ask RFA comics
Two theories. Saeyoung lets Jaehee capture him because he's trying to remind Jumin to stay on his toes about Elizabeth because she has all that vital information and Jaehee shouldn't get too relaxed since... well, she'd would be the line of fire if the bodyguards weren't around to do something. It's also why I believe Saeyoung sneaks all the way into the penthouse time and time again. Yes, he loves his Elly and he wants to pet her, but he's trying to be "Silly" to show Jumin that if he can sneak in, ANYONE COULD.
My other theory? Saeyoung likes to be bullied by very strong, valiant women. I mean, we could talk all day long about how Saeyoung has chemistry with Jaehee, Jumin, Zen, and Yoosung and how he loves nothing more than to push his luck with them. Sometimes, you want to be judo-flipped by Jaehee. I can't blame Saeyoung for that! I feel the same way! Flip me, Jaehee! C'mon! /lh
Honestly, I do think it's mainly my first theory but it's funny to play around with the idea of Saeyoung crushing hard on the others, too, sometimes.

I think I'm gender fluid or something, help
🚬🍓
oh honey, gender crises is never fun im so sorry :( but im glad u came to me for help !!
so, I figured out I was genderfluid by trial and error really, but these are the the signs that made me say “yea genderfluid is right for me”
1. shifting perception of my own gender. im mostly boy aligned, but I have really femme/girl-like periods and other times where I feel like gender is just not for me :)
2. being somewhat comfortable with everything, but having preferences :3
3. being really really hot no matter how I present :) I present mostly hyper-femme, but on occasion I like to test my passing abilities as a boy, and idk man looking like one makes me feel very euphoric on certain days :3
also, if u feel like looking for experiences of fellow genderfluid folks u can check out @genderfluid-culture-iss !! they’re very neat imo :3
besides that, im here for any and every question u have for me !! <3 gender is fucking hard, and if I can even help in the slightest - yk where to find me :3
