Unique Symptoms in Men with Fibromyalgia
While fibromyalgia shares many common symptoms across genders, research suggests that men may experience some distinct or different symptoms compared to women with the condition. Here’s an examination of these potential differences: 1. Pain characteristics: – Men often report more severe muscle pain and muscle weakness. – They may experience more localized pain rather than the widespread pain…

i am honestly kinda in awe by how gintama managed to take the classic sexist trope “woman wants to remain young and beautiful forever” and “subvert” it into something tragic and universal about the passing of time and love&memory without even really conciously attempting any of that

you said we could bother you... ever consider transfem maglor?
hm, I don't really have much in the way of gender/orientation headcanons for most elves, but I feel like if anything I see him more as the "I have bigger problems and also a sword" brand of agender, if that makes sense?

just wanted to let you know that your art changed something in my brain chemistry. i love how you design the bad kids, especially riz. it makes me love him even more 😭😭
thank u! fantasy high as a series banks a lot on heightening and exaggerations, and trying to work with that general sensibility while translating the designs into something I have fun drawing has been nice to do :]
#not art#its kinda funny to approach fh with like. a bg of shounen/gag manga? wild how much genres can differ when targeting the same demographic#tho I havent read shounen in a While lmao. the last series I picked up was uhhh tetsugaku letra#its very Gender even though I dont think it? aimed to be? it talks a Lot abt performance and failing social expectations#and I think if you wanna talk about stuff like that you kinda eventually stumble into Gender Stuff#well. to be fair the main character literally picks up and chooses to dance with a pair of women's flamenco shoes#so maybe I was just being pessimistic abt the series not aiming to talk abt transgenderism lmao#anyways I did also pick that up and then realized as I read it that wow. I have Fully outgrown this genre#which is fair bc I'm almost a decade out from being a teen. I have the privilege to grow up and get a bird eyes view of childhood#but yeah. its kinda fun to see how teen movie archetypes and shounen archetypes differ so much#and finding the thread of connection between all that#but very specifically abt riz. listen. listen I was a meitantei conan acolyte for Years (am now a hater lmao)#I have an unfortunate affinity for detectives. riz gukgak is a bullet with my name on it. laser targeted#and also this season he gets a pair of glasses which is one of the only objects I can fully draw from memory. u can probably notice#from how I draw them lmao#I think I have a sketch of his previous looks somewhere in here... I gotta look for that

trying to gather my thoughts on unruhe. something about this exchange is so vital to me…about how scully maybe isn’t as natural a seeker as mulder. about how her work as a pathologist is focused on “how” rather than “why”…whereas mulder’s profiling is the inverse. a woman is dead and a man killed her and no amount of probing the inner workings of his psyche, his dreams, his nightmares will remedy that situation. discovering the why doesn’t bring about any deeper sense of justice or peace. because really, no why could ever really explain the mundane horror of a woman’s abduction and murder. if anything, it just more starkly reveals the ugly simplicity of the human capacity for cruelty.
but i also love how later, she leans on the why. she channels mulder and his profiler brain. schnauz even picks up on it (“great. now they got you talking like sigmund freud,” in reference to him calling mulder freud during his interrogation). she asks him why he does it. why her. why this. why did his sister kill herself. why did his father do what he did. part of it’s to keep schnauz talking but it’s also another example of how she reaches for him, even metaphorically, in moments of fear and difficulty.
i also love how this episode, with its themes of unrest and strife and trouble, focuses on scully. mulder is usually the more restless character, always searching and seeking and chasing and moving. but scully is just as, if not maybe even more so. her mother’s remaining daughter. her father’s disappointment. a catholic to her bones, even as she lapses. a woman in a man’s job. who imagines a life to be a husband and kids and big sunday dinners, but who can’t stop following the mad man in the basement. who always insists she’s fine, who locks it all away, who chafes and squirms and explodes in impulsive incendiary bursts. who is always always trying.
there are just some things we don’t or can’t look too deeply into. if god is real, or why the woman in front of us is dead. scully will dig and scrape for proof and explanations for many things, but some interrogations aren’t worth the effort, or the fear of what might be found. some things just are, and they’re too big to move or change or overcome. women die because men kill them. what the hell does it matter?
#the x files#does this say anything at all? you decide.#to me this is especially a specific moment that points out the difference is gender dynamic between mulder and scully#which is not to say that mulder fails to grasp the depth of vulnerability women particularly face - he often does#but there sometimes feels like there’s something a little more…academic? to his approach? as a profiler and an investigator#in the sense of like. seeking out reasons and building out the psyche of the perpetrator even once he’s caught#like there’s a woman lying dead on the road and her killers in custody so why are we talking about dreams and nightmares and psychic photos?#scully as a woman who has experienced gendered violence doesn’t need to go probing because this is how the world is#men kill women because they can.#there is something vital about living in a violent world as a woman that mulder cannot fully understand#idk if i’m articulating my thoughts on this clearly at all#like there’s so much here…the fact that it’s lobotomies…the loss of the mind and sense of self#and scully is or at least likes to think of herself as cerebral so that’s terrifying to contemplate#and then being confronted with how restless she is and refusing to look at it….#also i know at the end she says she sees the value in looking at why monsters do what they do in order to understand them#and ultimately stop them#but i think that still troubles her and#doesn’t come easily to her#IDK i’m just saying stuff ok bye

saw fanart yesterday that i was ehh on
but it brought me to the conclusion that, if shrek was a lesbian, if shrek was a woman, i think she would be exactly the same as canon movie shrek, actually, and in fact. to the point, she would be so indistinguishable, that i can no longer be convinced that canon movie shrek isnt a he/him lesbian, and im excited to rewatch all the movies through the lens of percieving shrek this way. i think it will be based. excited.
#toy txt post#okay i think this post is sufficiently distanced from dunking on the fanart so i dont have to banish it to the drafts#have you no love in your heart for bald lesbian shrek?#smh turning him into a lesbian should not be that scene in shrek the third where they pluck his brows and put him in a wig#disclainer the fanartist is in their rights to draw whatever they want to draw yadda yadda i know#i simply think the fanartist is wrong ♡ also weird to choose to draw a scene with human fiona. instead of ogre fiona#idk i think i was approaching in slightly worse faith last night when i first saw it and im feeling more forgiving now.#maybe theyve drawn other scenes with ogre fiona and thats just the one that made it on my dash. idk#i did scroll through the shrek the third tag specifically looking for the scene where they dress him and fiona up#and saw the far more unforgivable sin of an edit of shrek with defined abs. far more haunting. no shrek of any gender would ever have abs#fuck i dont even think the human version of shrek that was specifically supposed to he conventionally attractive had fucking abs#i was also being unfair last night in the group chat scoffing at this persons taste in human fiona like why would you not draw like#the badass warrior fiona she was so cool. but thats unfair of me. ppl find beauty everywhere#but also really no ogre fiona? when like a big theme throughout the series is accepting her ogreself as she is and that shes still#beautiful like that?#....im gonna try to find that fanartist and block them so they dont see this post tho i dont want them to feel bad vdjsjdvjsgigdgri#which is why im making a post on my own blog the next day and not interacting with their post

hey rio what are your pronouns
"Pronouns, you say, bastard? You mean those made up thingies used by the left to push their pointless political agendas and Big Pharma? Those hormones aren't gonna sell themselves, y'know!"
It's comical to Rio just how unamused you look from that response alone. He lets the silence linger a little longer for maximum effect before changing stances entirely.
"...Kidding, kidding! I know what a goddamn pronoun is, I wasn't born yesterday! I mean, do I look like that oaf Q-taro?"
With that, the mental image of Q-taro digging wax (and potentially what little brain matter he has) out of his ear with a pinkie finger comes to mind, and Rio almost snorts to himself before deciding to move on.
"Keep staring at me like that, and I'll have to forcefully change your pronouns to fuck/you!" He threatens, though it sounded better in his head than it did out loud. Whatever, you want to know his pronouns, right? If you really care that much, you'll disregard his blunder and listen up. "My pronouns, yeah?" He asks. "Eh... honestly, I can't be bothered with all that junk."
Humans are all so predictable to him when it comes to all things immoral and offensive, which he just so happens to be both. At least that combo makes getting under their skin a piece of cake for him, but as the most human of his dad's dolls, it means he's prone to this flaw too.
That's the only reason he gives a morsel of a shit about any of this, right?
"People are alllllll soooo sensitive these days. So what if I'm a guy wearing a skirt?" Suddenly, he throws his hands up in the air, his expression cards falling all around him like confetti. "WHOOPDIEDOO! Why don't you grow a pair and put one on yourself, bastard! Don't tell me you're such a pussy that a piece of cloth is giving you the heebie jeebies! Come on, tuck like a man!"
(sorry for the 10 billion tags in this one btw, just wanted to clarify my thoughts and hcs there for anyone interested ^^)

okay say what you will about "comphet" and "settling," and maybe this is my arospec-ness showing, but i don't feel any attraction to women (romantic or sexual) and would still be 100% down with being in a relationship with one and even marrying a woman. i am pretty much entirely gay when it comes to actual attraction, but mostly consider myself bi or pan when it comes to my approach to relationships, and i just? think that maybe it'd be cool if more people recognized that however other queer people approach relationships and sex when it comes to gender, it doesn't negate their identities. it doesn't mean it's comphet. it doesn't mean it's secretly harming them. sometimes people just choose to have sex, or be in a relationship, or whatever, and it might not "align" with what you think their label ought to be, but it sincerely does not matter at all. it's not your sexuality, or your romantic orientation, or your own personal understanding of yourself, it's theirs. and it doesn't make them bad at being queer, it just means that they're human and get to 1. make their own choices and 2. not conform to other people's ideas about themselves

my first loz game as a kid was phantom hourglass and it was well into special interest territory. i would never shut up about it. i was obsessed. any and every friend i had would be recruited into playing the local multiplayer game mode with me. but one of my strongest memories is by far is how frustrated one of my classmates got with me because any time they asked me what gender link was i would look at them with an uncomprehending, blank stare and say "Link is Link" with the slow deliberation of someone communicating that 2+2=4

i think i might start identifying with the label demigirl. bigender doesn't really feel accurate anymore. i feel like this is partially red's fault. her gender being lesbian has had a significant impact on the system.

Transfem Shadow doesn't change her looks to conform to conventional gender standards because she doesn't conform and doesn't do conventional.
Sonic had spent years on HRT, did voice training and had top surgery to be his best self.
Shadow slapped on eyeliner and curled her lashes before walking out the door because you can't improve perfection, and she knows it.
yess i also love the contrast those approaches add to the characters, with how generally carefree sonic typically appears whereas shadow gives off a more well-kept vibe (see: every shadow idle animation where they comb their quills), and the idea that sonic would take their transition process very seriously and go through a lot of changes while shadow doesn't bother with anything beyond a bit more eyeliner is Very Good and i also like that it would showcase vastly different but equally valid approaches to gender and transitioning
