I Love the way you draw trolls!! But I have to ask, whats up with the gems that you give them in place of their bellybutton? Is it based on canon or sum? I'm not well versed in trolls lore hehe
Prepare for a deep dive... 😅 In short, it's KIND OF canonical? But not really? It's honestly just a long-standing headcanon of mine! A design choice just like tails and paws for me!
Some trolls do have them in canon like DJ Suki (and I think a few background trolls), and they are incorporated into the Netflix show in one of the episodes (Gem Day!) but the shows are not canon.
Though, the Trolls Facebook page also brings them up for their Troll of the Month posts and I personally choose to view these as canonical since they use the movie renders.
They do mention belly gems in Trolls Holiday as well but my incorporation was purely coincidence because I've been giving them belly gems far before any of that was established because of the Trollz TV show I grew up with!
The Trolls in that iteration of the franchise had magical belly gems linked to their magical abilities and bracelets. The main character, Amethyst, had a heart shaped amethyst in her belly.
Amethyst actually has some visual hair similarities to Poppy! Poppy also has a pink heart shaped gem according to DreamWorks!
I kind of just gave Branch and Poppy those gem shapes simply because it just felt right, but DreamWorks seems to agree! 😆 For me, Poppy and Viva both have heart shaped gems. (Viva's is yellow tho) Branch and his brothers all have the same diamond/rhombus shape too :] they usually match the color of their hair.
I give the gems a magical and emotional connection to trolls, as based on the Gem Day episode, their gems are formed by joy throughout the troll's life after planting their first hair. (Branch's gem is cracked due to his greyness but that's a rare instance.)
For me, they're born with one in their belly and then they can grow a separate one in the same way as the Gem Day episode, but the ones in their belly cannot be replaced nor removed. Whatever happens to it is permanent, they must be careful! :]
These gems can be planted together with a partner's or apart (single or ace trolls) in order to wish for/manifest a baby. There's other methods of how eggs can be formed for trolls, but I love the idea of it always being a magical process for them! :] Kind of a nod back to the Good Luck Trolls/Wish Trolls toys where trolls all began! 💖💖💖
Hope my headcanons were interesting to you! I love explaining my gem theories for them :] I've loved trolls long before these movies so my love for trolls runs deep 💖 I was too young (or not born) when the OG trolls were at their peak but I love these little guys!!

Core Gems
So when a ghost becomes injured, they have a last ditch defense where they retreat into their core. And I mean, injured badly where their body is rip apart to the point they can’t hold a solid form anymore. And they basically go into a hibernation state until they are strong enough to form again.
Ellie, Danny, and Dan are all injured in a final battle against the GIW. The organization was destroyed and the ghosts were safe but the halfas ended up being so injured that they reverted to core form and then went to sleep for a bit. When they woke up, they were still weak but at least recovered enough to gain consciousness. And realize…they are in some kind of auction…in the middle of a heist. It appeared that two furries (one in a bat costume and one in a cat costume) were ducking it out. And they…they were a necklace. All three of them had been turned into a necklace with their cores as gems accompanied by sapphires, pearls, and opals. And frankly gorgeous craftsmanship as the metal was crafted around their cores as if to cradle them and the other gems.
Unfortunately, they were too weak to take a form properly, they could still feel the strain on their bodies. But at least they could still communicate through their auras. Then the cat lady punched a hole in the glass container surrounding them and grabbed their necklace.
However, the bat grabbed the other end and it resulted in a sort of tug-a-war. Meanwhile, Danny, Ellie, and Dan were having a back and form commentary on the situation and what they should do. Completely unheard by the other party.
In the corner of their eye, the three halfas finally noticed a third contender. Some kind of clown who was…hold on…holding a gun?! And it was pointed straight at the two fighting furies who had yet to notice him. The ghosts’ protective instincts went into overdrive and they frantically tried to shout, yell, move. Just do something to warn the two but their cries fell on deaf ears. All they succeeded in doing was faintly glow which immediatly caught the attention of the fighting duo. The two turned to look at the strange necklace but right at that moment, the clown fired and a gunshot rang throughout the auction room. Having no other options, Danny and the others poured every ounce of ectoplasm they had to try and phaseshift, making the two furries intangible as the bullets passed right through them, but in their shock, the two jumped away in opposite directions and accidentally ripped the necklace apart. Gems and pearls went flying and the three cores bounced along the ground.
Luckily, the two finally noticed the clown and went to deal with him and his minions who had appeared. Seemingly putting their fight on hold and forming a temporary truce. The three halfas could only watch as the battle finally wound down, ending with the cops barging into the place and arresting the clown and his grunts, the cat managing to escape with half the scattered gems and pearls from the broken necklace along with a few other jewelry pieces (none of their cores though) and the bat leaving through a skylight.
The auction continued and in the end, despite being broken, their necklace seemed to have caught someone’s interest. A man named Bruce Wayne bought up every piece of the shattered jewelry wear. The auctioneers appeared relived that the item managed to sell in the end and gratefully gave it to him.
Bruce had no idea what happened at the auction, but he could have sworn that some of the gems faintly glowed right before he and Selina were shot. If the necklace was some sort of magical item, then he needed to understand exactly what has been brought to Gotham. It was unfortunate that Selena had taken some parts of the necklace but he utilized his vast wealth to make sure all the other parts ended in his possession. Now he would take them back to the mansion for examination.
#Dpxdc#dcxdp#kizzer55555 ideas#Bruce thinks the necklace is magical. He’s technically not wrong.#When he gets home he immediately puts each gem in a glass container to examine them. For the longest time though nothing happens.#They all look like normal gems except for the main three of the piece. He can’t identify what kind of gem they are.#The gems are perfect spheres with various shades of blue (with hints of green and white) swirling around.#The colors almost look like they are moving in slow motion. Still. Nothing happens as he examines them and no strange events happen.#That is until one day he decided to take the gems to be examined by a professional and a villain attacked.#A piece of building was about to crush him when a wall of ice appeared as a shield over him. After that he took them back to the cave.#Bruce looks up thousands of documents about enchanted necklaces and artifacts but finds nothing. He even calls in favors from JLD.#Zatanna doesn’t recognize them but feels some kind of power coming off the gems however it doesn’t feel malevolent (at least for 2 of them)#(The last gem is neutral.) Also Constantine was unavailable (*cough* hiding from responsibilities *cough*)#The other bats get interested in the gems. Tim has a theory that they are some kind of protective charms. Damian agrees.#(Everyone is shocked Tim and Damian agree on something). So while Bruce is continuing his investigation the other bats decide to do some#‘Field testing’ and take the gems out. Consequently the gems end up saving their lives and they discover a few things they can do like make#The wearer invisible. Intangible. Create green barriers/constructs. Create ice. Vibrate when an enemy is coming. And much more.#The bats fashion them into new individual bracelets/necklaces and think they are the coolest thing. They have powered up protective charms!#The halfas just wish these kids would STOP PUTTING THEIR LIVES IN DANGER! What are they MORONS?!#Most of the ectoplasms they recover is used to protect the bats and nearby civilians.#(Dan also trolls people and is mostly protective his siblings though)#People notice the new power ups. A rougue gets his hands on a gem and tries to use it ONCE to attack something but the gems didn’t respond.#Then it froze the rough’s legs to the ground.#Much time later the gems are swapped between the bats and alternated and have just become a new item in their belt#(batman was not pleased but eventually got used to it and begrudgingly accepted that they were useful. Especially when they save his kids)#They come to a Justice league meeting and Constantine finally sees them.#His mouth drops in shock and he frantically asks where they got GHOST CORES?! And this is when the bats finally realise what they have.#And are horrified to realize EXACTLY what they are holding and that these ‘gems’ were technically ALIVE.#Meanwhile the three Halfas have been kinda chilling but also working their butts off to keep this family alive. It was a fulltime job.

For Gem, of course everything's about honor. She's sparred with Pearl before! She knows that she has the capability to kill her. But when Pearl fights with her, she always cheats, and it hurts.
For Pearl, she's been through hell and back in this series. She knows you do what you can to survive, you do what feels right in the moment. 2v1ing is reasonable and logical.
In a fight, you do what's right, and they both have opposite definitions of that, and it's festering right before our eyes. Get ready for the climax bitches

Wild thought, but I don't think skk's relationship was ever truly substantial until corruption got into the mix.
I don't think they even spent that much time working together prior to the events SB.
Yes, they were still a powerful duo. They still maintained their relationship with bickering and teasing. But it was all a little shallow, never something deeper going on.
Which made way for so much misunderstanding and miscommunication to occur between them. They couldn't read each other well- Dazai didn't always predict Chuuya's wild actions, and Chuuya never saw Dazai past the manipulative demeanor/playful facade, so he never truly trusted his words on things.
That can also be proven by Chuuya's dynamic with the Flags, his doubt and anger and mistrust. While you can chalk his behavior to what happened between him and the sheep, a part of me is confident that his surface-relationship with Dazai played a part in that as well.
Dazai and Mori were Chuuya's first impression of what the mafia world is, so anyone in the mafia should be like them, correct? That is what he was sure it was like: constant demeaning and manipulation, nothing genuine or real. So the flags' actions were always fake in his eyes, till the day they showed him a photo and he realized... Maybe they weren't.
But that deters us from the main point.
Skk's dynamic continued to be that of shallowness, which I imagine made way for many serious arguments between them when they were 15 for how differently they viewed things. They never really sat down, never had a moment of peace to just... talk or dwell or communicate. Never even bothered knowing the other past what they already know. Chuuya was simply Dazai's dumb and loud dog. Dazai was simply a suicidal freak and a bastard to Chuuya.
Until SB's events happened...
Specifically, this scene:
Clearly, this was the first time Dazai has shown that he cares about Chuuya without any filters or connotation. This was the first time Chuuya has seen Dazai being directly genuine with him.
And as mentioned, this was the first time Dazai was ever completely serious with Chuuya.
All because of Corruption.
And it would remain a trend from then on. Dazai's tone would always shift at the mention of using Arahabaki, of Chuuya's free will, of turning to Corruption as a last resort (see: corruption analysis).
These moments were raw. These moments were real.
And Chuuya would witness those moments that disprove his initial thoughts of Dazai simply being a heartless, soulless and twisted person. With confusion the first few times, then comprehension so deep it shifts his worldviews entirely.
Corruption forced soukoku to work along for more missions, forced them to see each other at their worst, lowest instances. Forced Dazai to witness Chuuya's quiet moments, forced Chuuya to experience qualities of care Dazai only reserves for special, special people...
Forced them to intensely understand one another, whether they liked it or not.
And ever so slowly, the trust that was built was something no one can ever shatter, no matter how many years of separation urged them to...
"What's with you, asking something like that?"
It's that moment. The moment sokouku's relationship became something so, so much more...
#also to add onto the 'they didn't spend much time in the first year' bit#Chuuya didn't know Dazai was previously in charge of the PM's gem trade. the field he HIMSELF was working on. until Dazai told him#if they truly were close back then that probably would have been a p significant thing to miss#and they even joined the mafia on the same week basically so#couldn't have been a thing NOT to mention or know on Chuuya's part#unless. of course. they never even met enough at the time for him to know that.#bsd#dazai osamu#chuuya nakahara#skk#bungou stray dogs#bsd dazai#bsd chuuya#sokouku#bsd stormbringer#analysis#bsd analysis#bsd theories#J's post#J's writing ✍🏽

Possible Silver/Echidna/Ancient connections
In Sonic Chronicles The Dark Brotherhood there is another tribe of echidnas called the Nocturnus Clan. The Nocturnus Clan was incredibly technologically advanced and nearly conquered the world thousands of years ago before they were trapped in another dimension with powerful alien races by an entity called the Argus.
This game and the stuff in it is considered non-canon now due to legal issues that we are definitely not here to talk about but it was canon when it came out and different echidna tribes are referenced in Sonic Frontiers. The ancient portal technology in that game is also similar to the gear themed technology used by the Nocturnus Clan. So there's hope of Nocturnus or a rewritten version of them still being canon. Silver has many similarities to the Nocturnus clan and their creations.
Silver is visually similar to Imperator Ix, the leader of the Nocturnus Clan (Especially the cuffs which are similar to Silver's)
The patterns on Silver's gloves and cuffs are also similar to the ones in Nocturne and the Cyberspace Portals in Sonic Frontiers.
The convex patterns on Silver's cuffs can be found throughout Nocturne.
Silver's front quills have a similar structure to the head crests of the Gizoids created by the Nocturnus Clan.
The big quills on the back of Silver's head are similar to the tentacles that Chaos and The Ancients have on the back of their heads.
Silver's big quills seem to have blood vessels? He puts bandages on them in Sonic Channel artwork and gets blood stains on them in IDW. Maybe they are tentacles?
Sonic Team has foreshadowed connections with visual similarities before. In Shadow The Hedgehog before you find out that Shadow is part Black Arms you can see throughout the game that the Black Arms have red patterns like Shadow and in Sonic Unleashed before you find out that the Werehog is a portion of Dark Gaia you can see that Dark Gaia monsters have the same stretchy arms and attack patterns as the Werehog.
One of the alien races trapped in Twilight Cage with the Nocturnus Clan in Sonic Chronicles called the Voxai has psychic powers like Silver. They have the psychic ability to fly like Silver and control minds.
One of the leaders of the Voxai named Leucosia has the same colors as Silver's powers and patterns similar to Silver's PK Marks.
The only named place in Silver's (good) future that we've seen is Onyx Island in Sonic Rivals. Onyx Island is actually the future version of Angel Island which is the home of the Knuckles Clan, The Master Emerald and Sky Sanctuary. Sky Sanctuary also has advanced ancient technology and patterns similar to the ones on Silver's gear.
We don't know how connected to Onyx Island Silver is but it is the first place we see him after the reset in 06.
This could just be because of his powers but Silver is very upper body oriented. He never kicks like Sonic and Shadow do. Whenever Silver does get physical he always punches things which makes his fighting style more similar to Knuckles and the echidnas than his fellow hedgehogs.
Cyber Sonic's eyes are similar to the eyes Silver has in concept art.
#Some of these examples are stronger than others#Every part of Silver's design is similar to something echidna related#I haven't found anything similar to the red gems on Silver's boots or the hexagon patterns on their soles yet#silver the hedgehog#sonic the hedgehog#nocturnus clan#shadow the hedgehog#knuckles clan#angel island#sky sanctuary#onyx island#Cyberspace#sonic frontiers#sonic chronicles: the dark brotherhood#sonic rivals#sonic 06#sth#analysis#long post#The Sonic theory hole runs deep

Random sleep deprived thought/theory, this may have already been stated before by someone else and I just haven't heard but
Wild Life series. What if it's like a Truman Show type of thing and the world boarder is just a one-way window for the Watchers to observe the players?
Imagine the Watchers staring back at Scott and the other Gs + their creaky neighbour BigB when they find that Nether portal just out of the boarder (Scott's ep1, 22:40)... They're staring at each other and have NO idea.
#🌻; chit chat#🦜; grian's post#Okay maybe I'm just too sleep deprived and drank too much coffee#BUT THINK ABOUT IT.#Or would they observe from the sky? Would they be in “spectator mode”#Gem astral projection is actually just what the Watchers see/do?#trafficblr#wild life smp#life series#wild life#Wild life theory#Trafficblr theory

What I think is interesting is Steven Universe’s dreamscape. If you really think about it, gems don’t really need sleep because they’re beings of constant energy: energy does not evaporate, it just moves.
It has me thinking about the first episode of Gem Glow, when Garnet is telling Steven about her gem powers — I almost forgot about that. Gems are beings of the universe, so their powers flow through the same current as the universe.
I think Steven’s able to jump into dreams because his gem’s computer brain kinda bumps his human consciousness into the astral plain. Therefore, Steven is technically a ghost when he sleeps because his gem is realigning itself to the universe. He’s in a state of preserving energy that his gem is providing for him just to stay alive. Also technically he’s still a being of pure energy because he can link his brain to other physical beings of consciousness. So technically he’s just this ghostly consciousness exploring a metaphysical plain while his gem stays intact with his human half.
His gem’s like: hey I’m kicking you out for a bit to keep your state of being constant, so go exploring or whatever I’m busy here.
Then Steven is just given endless leeway by his gem without any explanation or further notice. Since sleeping is a human trait that all beings eventually abide to, this occurrence is repeated quite frequently. Steven doesn’t know the rules entirely, but he’ll get there. For now, he’s just an extremely light sleeper.
I think Steven trained himself to be a light sleeper after Kiki Pizza’s dream adventure. He’ll sometimes fall into deep sleep because his gem sometimes can’t tell when his human brain needs to be awaken again. Look, gems can sleep for a long time and not be effected at all. Steven is tired even after all that rest. I just assume Steven will be a light sleeper as soon he’s on the road.
If Steven ever sleepwalks, it’s most likely his gem alter making his movements.
#steven universe#gems#dreams#gem powers#steven has dream powers#is this a theory or an observation#i’m just not sure what with this show and all#could this be a headcanon#would steven be considered a ghost#steven universe future#pink diamond#crystal gems#garnet#pearl#amethyst#sleep#rose quartz#energy#au?

who was it that came up with the idea that Convex!Scar and Convex!Cub had developed separate agency from normal Scar and Cub and were the Glitchers while normal Scar and Cub were blissfully unaware they were the ones doing it. because after that conversation between Cub Skizz Gem and Doc im more convinced than ever
#skizz and gem both pointing out how sus cub was#doc saying the timings lined up with when cub was on#but cub saying with 100% certainty that he had it narrowed down to scar..........#im invested god i hope this theory is right PLEASE LET CUB AND SCAR BE DOING LORE#cubfan135#cubfan#gtwscar#goodtimeswithscar#docm77#convex#hermitcraft#hermitblr#hermitcraft 10

Thoughts on that kids show from the 2010s that changed the course of my life:
So, season 1 of Steven universe is really clever, because it shows the world from the perspective of a child in such an effective way. For example, the plot.
The viewers become aware of homeworld as a threat in ocean gem, but the crystal gems (other than Steven) know homeworld is coming from episode 2.
The red eye is the first thing homeworld does to check on earth, and the crystal gems are *powerless* to destroy it until the laser light canon is used (and that's *old* gem tech, not even the new stuff!)
In serious Steven, Coach Steven, and Steven's lion the gems are actively working to dismantle structures they had previously left untouched for thousands of years. Why? In case the diamonds try to use them.
Even after lapis' two parter the extent of why and how the gems are preparing for homeworld to attack isn't spelled out.
Pearl is trying to *escape* just like lapis did in Space Race, she knows it's possible... She knows if they leave earth they can be safe. Warp tour shows more explicitly that homeworld was already coming before lapis left, that even though she was Steven's introduction to the concept, homeworld was already interested in earth for other reasons. In rose's scabbard, they're clearly cleaning up the battlefield to keep extra weapons out of homeworld's hands, as it happens right between two major homeworld episodes, and just barely before the finale itself. Steven may not have known homeworld gems were coming for them, but the crystal gems did, the message only told them just how little time they had to prepare for it.
When you're watching Steven Universe for the first time, all this context slips past, you don't consider the reasons for the crystal gems going on certain missions, because the viewer doesn't have the information to even realize there was anything to consider (because the crystal gems are obviously keeping that info from Steven early on). Only on a rewatch does the exact level of urgency weigh in on the viewer, only when looking back do they realize exactly how much danger Steven was in even in the first season. It's a really clever set of details.
#i also really love the contrast between the fantasy asthetics and applications of era 1 gem tech compared to era 2#it makes the homeworld gems feel so alien and distant really effectively#and makes it easy to effectively transition from season 1's setup of the crystal gems going on lighthearted seeming fantasy adventures#to the larger interstellar war stuff#that ancient gem tech becomes basically unimportant after the end of season 1#because it just can't keep up against the new stuff.#also deep apologies to my best friend#who is probably tired of hearing me talk about Steven Universe at this point.#oh right#i shoulr use the tags for tagging this post#instead of just a parenthetical rant#Steven Universe#Fan theory#?
