I think he didn't even fucking knew Lucifer was coming, he saw the king of hell in the hotel's door, deciphered what the fuck he was there for (Charlie needs her dad's help for something), proceeds to read that men like an open book, CHALENGES LUCIFER'S SOURCE OF PRIDE- being a father, even if an absent one that was the only thing he seemed to care about and now the possition is challenged, by an overlord sinner no less- in other words... played the devil like a fiddle. AND IT WORKED
