Well, I’m still glad that Gojo was always a character who was growing and learning at least. He’s literally one of my favorite characters of all time now. Like, he’s never been as perfect as how the fans would make him out to be despite canonically being viewed as an absolute nuisance to everyone around him (I don’t think his peers necessarily hate him but a lot of them probably hate to see him coming and the ones who’ve dealt with him long enough to consider him a friend, tolerate him and groan whenever he opens his mouth, too 😭�� out of love. He’s extremely childish so there is only sm the other adults around him can take and to an extent, his students. I think the only characters in canon who adore him and their eye’s sparkle whenever he’s around, and being a silly teacher was Yuuji and Miwa (she asked him for his autograph (he’s the most famous sorcerer in the jjk world) and when she was alone, she did a little dance in the empty hallway 🥺…) from what we’ve seen even though the others still care about him, too. They just find him rather annoying, which he most definitely is. And he does it on purpose. He plays too much.)

Preliminary thoughts on the S2 JJK guidebook.

I haven’t bought mine yet, but looking at what’s circulating on X is already making me 😭

Some have said that the skin colour of Geto became much paler as if he hadn’t gotten the glow from the sun (representing warmth & happiness) and might not have been eating well (likely due to difficulties with sourcing food from sorcerers or general need to be reclusive / busy with disgusting curse absorption).

The interview with the seiyuu/VAs stating that they interpreted Geto feeling as if Gojo was a protective amulet/charm... giving greater meaning to his Gojokesa which he wore... as if it were the only way he could safely bring Gojo along with him, after he had to let him go (to ensure his safety from his dark path). He wore it as a comfort and lingering attachment 🥺 after he felt left behind by Gojo.

“You could do it.” / “If I could be you.” - I wonder if he said that not only referring to Gojo’s innate abilities, but in the way that he felt Gojo let him go with ease / didn’t need him anymore.

The height differences were commented on where some imagined that when Gojo & Geto met again after 10 years that Geto would think, “you’re bigger than I remembered.” And Gojo would think, “you’re smaller than I remembered.” Making it so cute somehow 😅🥹 if it wasn’t so sad.

I’ve had this headcanon for ages that Gojo would stare at Geto flying off and he’d think: Is it really ok, Suguru? You’re going against me and the whole jujutsu society. What are you plotting? Or are you thinking that your family is going to be ok if you’re not there anymore? Just like you thought I’d be ok?

The VAs interpretation was that Geto didn’t change. He had the heart of a noble person and was self-sacrificing. Gojo trusted this core of Geto and understood him. He didn’t fall but changed direction.

I personally think that Geto wasn’t fundamentally evil. Gege deliberately made curses humanlike to make us question good, evil, and the importance of interpretation & intention. So we can compare the similarities and differences between people like Geto and people like Gojo/other sorcerers who walked parallel paths. If we as the readers weren’t humans, but rather curses, we would have different thoughts about what was going on.

Gojo x reader x geto MAJOR spoilers for jjk chap 236 I’m rlly not ok with Gege rn 😭

He hears a voice. A voice so distinct, yet a voice he seemed to have forgotten. Yet he remembers it so clearly.

“Late as usual, eh? Satoru.”

It’s your voice.

But then another. Another that feels more familiar, but still one he never thought he’d hear again.

A voice he’d hear be the real him, again, anyway.

“Cut him some slack y/n-chan.” geto sighs, with a smile and hands in his huge pockets with those dumb oversized yoga pants.

Satoru opens his eyes, seeing the two people he adored with his whole sense of self. Everything he’s ever done, even after you two left, had been for the both of you.

But it takes him aback, seeing you.

Don’t get him wrong, he loves suguru. It was a blessing to see him, even when things got complicated. But he hasn’t seen you in… what? Ten years?

Satoru feels the need to push back his tears and smile it all down, just like he always has.

You’re eighteen. So is suguru. So is he. Back when it was simple. Back when even though things had changed, you three promised one another that you’d be there through thick and thin. Whether satoru was stronger than the both of you or not, you all loved eachother the same.

In a way, you had been the glue that stuck the three of you together. Even when suguru was losing faith, you always got him out of his funk.

The world took you from them too soon. Due to the negligence of the higher ups, both you and haibara were taken from them. From nanami. From shoko.

Once Suguru had lost the only positive things in his life, he had completely lost himself. You were no longer there to lift him up, you were no longer there to get him out of that damn shower, no longer there to help him get some sleep, no longer there to help him eat.

It was hard on satoru too, but even he can’t imagine what it was like for suguru.

Suguru loved you so much, when he lost you, he couldn’t handle it. He has decided the world was better without non shaman. It’s because of them, you were taken from him.

Satoru will never forget the day of your funeral.

“Y/n is dead, and everything is worse now.” Suguru told him, that very morning.

They were both broken, but in different ways.

Satoru on the other hand, wanted to make the world a better place for jujutsu sorcerers like you. He wants people to get stronger, to surpass even him, so that the world could be better for them. He hates the higher ups, and seeks to protect children like yuuji from them, because he failed to protect you from them in that way.

Satoru lets out a breath he didn’t know he was holding, standing up. For the first time in his life, if he can even call it that, he gives you a wobbly grin, diving in to hug you. He needs to feel you again. Smell you again.

He needs to know you’re really here with him.

“Dawww…” you say, your voice almost teasing. Now that he thinks about it, it definitely was.

Even under these circumstances, you never change.

“You miss me?” you say, wrapping your arms around him too, not admitting how much you missed him as well. He nods with a sniffle, “more than anything.” he whispers, before pulling away.

Suguru smiles at the moment between you and satoru.

“It’s too bad you lost, you know.” you say, “I was watching and everything!” you whine, and satoru gives you a light smile. “Maybe I should’ve shown off a little before going down like that, then.” he says with a grin.

“But honestly, it was fun.” Satoru admits.

“Well, I’m a little jealous..” suguru says, “but if you’re satisfied with that, then I guess I’m happy for you” suguru gives him a close eyed smile. Satoru had forgotten how much he missed seeing it.

Satisfied, huh?

“Honestly, if you were still there on my side, cheering me on, maybe then, I would’ve been satisfied.” Satoru says with a more genuine smile.

Suguru laughs, and satoru fails to notice the tears well up in his eyes upon hearing those words.

All this time, suguru thought satoru hated him. Hated him for everything he’s done. He wouldn’t blame him for it either. When suguru saw you for the first time, he thought you’d hate him too. But looking back on it, he should know you better than that. He should know satoru better than that, too.

“Is that so?” he asks, his shaky voice seems to give him away.

He nods.

“There’s been many times, I’d wish you were still there with me. Watching me raise my students, with a proud smile.” Satoru feels his own voice get shaky, looking at the man he loved.

“Man,” you let out a lighthearted sigh, “you’re both idiots, you know?” you say with a carefree grin.

Satoru turns to pout at you, “yeah, well! Whatever…” he rolls his eyes. “I’m sure it’s easy for you to not have any regrets when it comes to us, huh? You’re always so perfect at relationships and communicating and all that garbage.” he says, sticking out his tongue. Suguru can only laugh at him, as if he missed seeing satoru like this.

“You’ve got it all wrong, satoru.” your grin becoming soft. Something he hasn’t seen in god knows how long.

“I do have my regrets with you both. Well, only one.” you say, looking off to the side. Both boys look at you in anticipation. ‘So even suguru doesn’t know?’ Satoru wonders to himself.

“Honestly, I never had the balls to say it to either of you at the time, or even suguru this past year. However,”

you look at the both of them, a fondness in your eyes that both boys had missed seeing. You never did get this emotional and vulnerable, not often anyway.

Your back collides with cold, grimey tile as you slide onto the floor in the corner of the subway stop. You stopped counting the number of Curses you’d exorcized a long time ago, but you knew it was a large enough number to have your body physically depleted. Your eyes shut from sheer exhaustion as you continue to steady your rapid breathing and you sense him collapse on the floor next to you. You don’t open your eyes, even when his forehead falls onto your shoulder and you can feel his heavy exhales through your clothes. Somewhere in the dim fluorescent lights, his right hand grabs your left, holding it tightly as he grounds himself in your presence. 

“Fuck, I’m so fucking tired,” he mutters against your body. Like clockwork, your fight-or-flight response starts to recede now that he’s here. You’re always safe when he’s here. “I’m so, so tired.”

“I know, baby. I know.” 

“Are you okay? Are you safe?”

“I’m safe, ‘toru. Even more so now that you’re here. Just rest.” The familiar feeling of Infinity extending itself to envelop you sends goosebumps on your skin; it was like his technique knew to cover you from sheer instinct after doing it so many times. Whether he knows it or not, he slowly starts to completely slump against you and you let him, wrapping your arms around his shoulders while his head fits snugly under your chin. His body continues to melt into you when you rub his back without him asking and sighing when your fingers comb through his hair. If Nanami or Yaga saw you two curled up on the dirty floor, neglecting your duties of slaying Curses, they’d have a field day. But, as of now, the only people in the green-tinted underground were you and Satoru. 

“We gotta get back out there,” he groans and you tighten your grip on his shoulders ever so slightly to pull him back to you. You didn’t want him to go yet, and it seemed like he didn’t want to, either. The universe allowed Satoru very limited moments to catch his breath and you damn sure weren’t going to let him rush into danger again so quickly. 

“Give yourself a few more seconds to just breathe, please. No one’s gonna hurt us right now,” you murmur into his hair. “I won’t let them.” He huffs out half a laugh at the irony, at your promise to protect the one who’s supposed to be guarding everyone else.

“Thank you, angel. Just give me a little longer and I’ll get up.”

“Take all the time you need; I’ll stay here forever if you need me.”

Thoughts on JJK chapter 266 (Spoilers)

I nearly cried...

We start with Megumi reiterating that he doesn't want to be saved. The last time we saw him he was down on the ground completely crushed. Here, Yuji managed to talk with him inside his domain, giving Megumi the opportunity to fully express himself and his feelings.

The "enough now" also has different connotations depending on the specific phrasing used in Japanese. I read a Twitter thread once that talked about it and how Megumi basically told Yuji that he, Yuji, didn't need to expand any more energy towards him, Megumi. That he could stop saving him because it was all right.

It was said right in the beginning that Megumi sees Yuji and Tsumiki as the same type of person he wants to protect. That was why he selfishly asked Gojo to help Yuji after he swallowed Sukuna's finger.

Megumi's thoughts on the life he wanted to give his sister are so bittersweet. He isn't centered in them so it's natural that without Tsumiki he doesn't know where he could go on his own.

And let's not forget, Tsumiki was the only true family Megumi had left and for one and a half years he tried to save her from her curse only to fail twice. His teenage years were dedicated to her so his mental descend is understandable.

Maki lived through the same loss and compared with her we explicitly see the differences in them. Maki had always wanted to live her life on her own with her own strength which meant that she had to leave Mai behind. When Mai died Maki was mentally able to go on with living without problems but unlike with Megumi's and Tsumiki's situation, Maki and Mai also had a deep conversation and understanding with each other in the end. Maki got to hear Mai's last thoughts and her last wish to destroy them all.

Megumi doesn't have any last conversation with Tsumiki so Yuji has to step in on that front. And he does so with fully acknowledging Megumi's pain and outlook on his continued life.

Sukuna uses Hollow Wicker Basket to counter Yuji's sure-hit and be able to fight him. He compensates the weaker CE output of HWB by keeping his handsign with his extra arms.

I checked, that hand sign is basically the same as Megumi's DE hand sign but with the left thumb up. Its interesting to think about the implications of that.

Sukuna also says the he can't use Gojo's version of getting his CT back up again after a DE because other parts of his brain are still damaged by UV.

We get an extended fight scene next but truth be told I did NOT care about the fight at that moment. Only Sukuna showing how angry he got with Yuji's "pity" was interesting. Other than that I wanted to get back to Megumi.

Bringing back that absolutely iconic panel of Megumi and replacing Gojo with Yuji 😭

That was the part where I stared at my giant monitor and got misty eyed. Especially with Yuji being so honest about how much he would miss Megumi even though he understands and would support him with ending his life.

Its interesting again how Gege chose to leave Yuji's scars for his close up panel. It's probably to show how Mahito's trauma he inflicted on him and everything else he went through didn't measure into his deepest desire to get his friend back.

Until now we also didn't see Megumi's eyes. Even in this panel we get a small Megumi from a memory he had with someone else. But...

Megumi immediately uses his shadows, those we haven't seen since Sukuna got his original body back.

But I also wonder about the implication here: was Sukuna's 10ST rendered non-functional because... he was in his original body? Or because the death of Mahoraga automatically deactivates the technique?

If it's the latter, than that means that with Megumi using his shadows here, he has his own version of his technique, one with his own shikigami who haven't been killed in the fight against Gojo.

The last part of this fight is about how Sukuna went against what he just thought a few minutes ago. He does use Gojo's technique of restarting his CT again. His nose is bleeding because of it though.

Then comes another part of the good guy's long thought out plan to bring Sukuna down. His finger strung up in an unknown location, ready to do... what? We'll see when the Shinjuku Showdown actually finishes soon.

We'll definitely get the merger arc next but there'll most likely be a few chapters of talk and plot in between as well.

But wait!

What is going on with Yuji missing 2 fingers now? We know that one Sukuna finger is still missing and we know that Rika ate at least part of either Sukuna or Yuji to get Sukuna's CT.

But is this finger in the last panel a new finger maybe? One made with Yuji's ring finger?

We'll find out eventually but for now, this was such a deeply emotional chapter...

this is a real tough question to answer hooooo boy where do i start??

i mean, for starters, the premise of the show is actually really fun, and i like it a lot so far!! let's talk a little about this:

(spoilers for the first 2 eps in its entirety which covers the background/setup of the story)

this is yang caiwei. her dad was a minister who was framed for one thing or another, demoted, and subsequently murdered. she was disfigured in the process, and ended up in the city of heyang where she grew up to be a corpse bearer training under a coroner.

yang caiwei has been betrothed since she was a little girl to:

pan yue. this boy is the son of a concubine so his relationship with his dad is very meh. when yang caiwei's family got into trouble, pan yue's dad quickly cut off all ties with them. this led to yang caiwei being turned away at the door p harshly when she came to pan yue for help. pan yue himself though has loved her since he was a boy, and has been looking for her for 10 years!!

ANYWAY these two find each other. he wants to marry her. ofc he does!! she's his 白月光, and he wants to love and protect her!! he's disowned his family so that he can do this, he is ALL IN BABY. he's only found her again for all of 10 minutes and he's already planning their wedding in his head lbr.

she is calm and composed and v sensible because of the way she had to grow up. this whole thing seems too good to be true, and also she might be harbouring some ~feelings over the way he just cut her out of his life when she needed him the most. the yang caiwei she is now just wants to live her life as normal.

the chemistry is 😘 at this point, and i am so invested in their relationship. at this stage, i was still thinking she was the second female lead and was like. huh. this is going to be one of those shows where i'd ship these two more than the official couple i guess??

anyway enter:

shangguan zhi. sister of pan yue's best friend, who is obsessed with pan yue, putting it mildly. she also has this ~thing about her own physical appearance - essentially, she thinks she needs to look and act perfect to be worthy of pan yue's love. this involves a lot of witch doctors and v unhealthy dieting and scrolls on how to smile the perfect way and walk the perfect way. y'all get the gist.

shangguan zhi hears that pan yue is getting married (to someone ugly at that!!!) and loses her shit. she decides the way around this so she can be with her yue-gege forever is-

(you guessed it!!)

-body-swapping with yang caiwei, and pushing yang caiwei (and also the shaman who actually helped her with the swap) off a cliff so that nobody ever finds out.

to her credit, it actually works!! she swaps bodies with yang caiwei, and marries pan yue.

what she didn't account for was being murdered on her wedding day.

ANYWAY. the actual yang caiwei, now in shangguan zhi's body (😭), survives the fall from the cliff, rushes to the wedding with the intent on stopping the wedding and getting her goddamn body back, and reaches just in time to kinda sorta witness shangguan zhi's murder.

cue her thinking that it was pan yue who killed shangguan zhi (she knew the whole wedding thing was too good to be true) and pan yue thinking that shangguan zhi had something to do with yang caiwei's death (after all, she was obsessed with him and had a whole fit over him wanting to marry someone else).

everything about this premise was *chef's kiss*. give me a bucket of popcorn and some comfy pillows, i can watch this all day.

EXCEPT.

except my dudes shangguan zhi (and subsequently yang caiwei-in-shangguan-zhi's body, let's call her shangguan caiwei for now) is played by ju jingyi. 😞 zhhz played yang caiwei TOO WELL my friends, so that when jjy took over, shangguan caiwei felt like a whole different character. it's a bit difficult to reconcile yang caiwei and shangguan caiwei tbh, which made watching the third ep onwards a bit jarring, especially after zhhz set the character up so well.

it's not like......fatal to the show. i mean. i went in expecting nothing from jjy (rightfully i think 😑) and i wouldn't say i am disappointed by it just because i was prepared to be ehhhh about her going in. i'm still watching the show mainly because i like the plot and also, and this is a big factor that i truly cannot stress enough:

liu xueyi looks so good in this show hoooooo boy

look at this!!! is this a face i would suffer 30+ episodes of jjy for??? apparently it is!!

tl;dr: love lxy + like the plot + dislike jjy = still watching and will likely finish the show. is it a rec?? conservatively, i'd say soft yes??? i mean. a huge part of me watching this show is because i'm entertained by the shenanigans, 😍 over lxy, and daydreaming about an alternate universe of the show where we have zhhz instead of jjy as the female lead. it's not something to watch seriously though!!

people act like yuji not dying and choosing to live instead of being immediately executed was the reason for the events that have taken place.

brother read the manga because this has been in the works long before yuji was even born. My man Kenjaku chose Jin because he knew of their connection with Sukuna. Even if it wasn’t Yuji and someone else had been born it was gonna happen eventually.

So having people agreeing that with Kusakabe that Gojo should’ve killed Yuji is just fucking stupid.

Acting also like Gojo wouldn’t have smacked the shit out of him for that. Gojo was never letting ANYTHING happen to yuji no matter waht. He would’ve protected Yuji with his life.

Also fuck that man, I liked him but nah not when you’re talking bad about my husband and son. Bum ass LOSER 😒

anyway, this was going to happen eventually no matter what. could’ve been some other teenager or random person. But the plans they had put in place was going to happen eventually. It might’ve not gone as well as Kenjaku expected, especially since it wouldn’t of been Yujis bloodline but know that man was prepared and willing to do ANYTHING. So regardless, this whole sealing of Gojo, new era of curses was gonna happen.

I love the super powerful but easily spooked wooden sword wielding Mt. Wangcheng disciple, kid you *really* don't need to try study under Master Li, just because he's "the" shifu doesn't mean he's better. He will teach you nothing and isn't batting an eye at his exam candidates dying right under his eyes. Srsly, Mt. Wangcheng, the Lei family and Changfeng's Medicine Shifu's Valley seem to be the only places suitable to bring up well-adjusted, grounded kids in this universe.

(He's gonna explode and die in the future isn't he) Also see, this is what I mean. Most of the shifus in this universe are no good at teaching and guidance. These kids in their youthful vigor and angst are extremely volatile and you all just let them run rampant. They are easily suspectible to being used by bad forces and eventually create massive tragedies for themselves and everyone else.

Well I suppose Dongjun's first shifu was a great guy but 1. He didn't have enough time 2. Even if he did he was dying and sustaining himself in a contained bubble and what he could teach Dongjun about the world was quite limited.

Liu Yue thinks he hides it well behind his hat but dude is practically bursting at seams for having gotten a disciple, and he's basically teaching Yue Yao how to flex well and never embarrass herself, which in addition would embarrass himself lol. He also seems to be kinda lonely and bored despite his quirky lil maid and broody bf. It's like he was born to be a social butterfly but with his current social status he cannot.

Baili Dongjun gotta be the naivest ML I've encountered in a while, and by naive I mean beyond the levels of your average innocent, inexperienced teen full of sunlight and getting jaded overtime such as Fang Duobing, Wu Xie, Zhang Chulan etc.

Dongjun has grown up so sheltered and full of positivity, he doesn't seem to register the gravity of things even when they are right in front of his face almost to the point of stupidity.

He provides a stark contrast against his friends, Sikong Changfeng who's been the sweetest but also most down-to-earth kid to begin with and Ye Dingzhi who's been dealing with the weight of the whole world since childhood.

That part where Dongjun saw the arrest warrant for Dingzhi who also turned out to be his long lost bff, was told by his elders that they'll take care of the matter and will bring Dingzhi to him, Dongjun was just like "Ok cool! That's settled then! I'm gonna just chill and have a drink with my new girlfriend then!" was almost funny but sad because,

Changfeng chose the most comparatively normal and mundane romance arc too. She's the top courtesan for sure but still, for many young gentry she wouldn't have been anymore worth than a fling, but Changfeng just went ahead and offered her the most genuine, authentic companionship ever without a second of hesitation. And walked out head held high, with ZERO idea about how suave and sexy it made him and I'm like:

I don't particularly like how people sometimes portray itafushi as "pretty smart guy x dumb himbo" mainly because, to me, has implications of "there needs to be a dainty guy who's the brains and a big strong guy who's just nothing but brawns" which feels like an interpretation confromed in heteronormativity. You don't have to make one guy in a gay ship a damsel in distress who can't protect himself and only exists to tell the other guy what to do because he's "smarter", and you don't have to infantalize the other and make him dumb as rocks that only know hows to punch and kick and needs constant guidance from his partner on what to do in any given situation. You can make them both capable. You can make them both able to think for themselves and their actions. You can make them both strong. You can find balancing ways to make them both compliment each other. These characters are complex, they exist beyond the character trope boxes you try to force them into.

One of my favorite things about megumi and yuuji's dynamics is that they make up for any weak spots the other would have during a fight. Yuuji acts first and thinks later, and that could be super beneficial for most fights, especially since Curses and Curse Users are known for taking drastic action first, but sometimes you have complex techniques like Inverse which needs a little bit more strategizing first, which is where Megumi, who thinks first and acts later, comes in. Apart from the fact that he just has more jujutsu knowledge than Yuuji, Megumi has a keen eye for detail (see: even in the midst of being severely injured, he managed to notice Hanami's weak point and tell Todo (and later Gojo) about it). He just noticed Inverse's mechanics and quickly applied a strategy to beat him. This is not to say Yuuji wouldn't have eventually figured it out (he's very adaptable and a quick learner!) Megumi just figured it out faster due to his high Battle IQ, but that does not diminish Yuuji's intelligence at all. He's quick on his feet, he's relentless in his attacks (Mahito) and can adjust to any changes in the battle (allies coming to help him). That's intelligence.

On the other hand, we have people who think Megumi is incapable of fighting. Now, this is mostly because Gege gave Megumi so many Ls at the start (😭), but if you see his growth, you can see him plenty capable of taking on opponents on his own. He can fight for himself, he's a capable fighter too. He handled himself well against Toji (despite what the anime wants you to believe), got jumped by 3 people while really exhausted and still won. Just because Yuuji is stronger than him physically (and not by that large of a margin as some make out) doesn't make him any less capable of scraping with someone, fists and all.

You can make them balanced while still having flaws (Yuuji being reckless, Megumi being someone hesitant who always second-guesses his actions) but i get annoyed when those flaws turn up to a 1000

He really is so special!! He's a strong kid, and not just physically! First episode/chapter, Megumi notes that Sukuna's cursed finger is a special-grade object and surely Yuji would die from consuming it. On top of that, there is a teeny tiny chance of Yuji surviving. A one in a million chance!

Not only does Yuji survive, but Sukuna was only awake for a complete of moments before Yuji was already telling him off and taking control back from his body.

Yuji's soul is just that strong.

I said this in another post, and now that I'm thinking about it, Sukuna should have been recognized how different Yuji is compared to others.

The first time Yuji faces Sukuna, what does he do? Express his anger towards him. You would think Yuji would be frightened at the idea of being stuck in a soul room with the guy who killed him, but no. Rightfully so, he is pissed.

That is just an example of how Yuji acts towards Sukuna compared to others.

Everyone else either expressed some fear even at the mention of Sukuna's name or they challenge him for the sake of wanting to prove their strength.

Yuji doesn't do either. Instead, he wants to kill Sukuna. Doesn't care to prove anything to him and finds him annoying.

He's just... I can't even exactly express it, but Yuji is my favorite!

And honestly, I feel like Sukuna is written to show just how strong Yuji is. Latest chapter, he notes how no matter what he does to break Yuji, Yuji gets back up and continues fighting. Which is true. Even after Sukuna did what he did to Shibuya, just moments after seeing all that destruction and wishing death on himself, Yuji recollect himself and decides to push on.

There's a lot of strong characters in the story, but to me, Yuji is the strongest. Every other character that is strong has flashy moves, immense cursed energy, able to use techniques, has tons of experience, related to some big shot... that's what makes a lot of those characters strong.

What makes Yuji the strongest to be is, again, not just his physical prowess, but the fact he has a soul that Sukuna, the strongest, can't even subdue.

Just me now, but I think it's fitting that Yuji is Sukuna's final boss as Sukuna is his.

I'm rambling really (sorry this got long), but that's what I have to say about Yuji.

If Gege is still drawing parallels between Yuta & Rika and Gojo & Geto, the idea that Gojo could’ve been cradling Geto’s lifeless body at the end of jjk0 is going to haunt me 😭

I read a Japanese reader on X (formerly twitter) say that Gojo was the kind of person to not even want Shoko to touch Geto’s body, so they were wondering what exactly a man with that mentality would do with his corpse. And I guess especially since Gojo, for a moment, questioned whether Geto had actually come back to life despite being the one who had killed him.

I have mixed feelings about that interpretation that he didn’t wish for Shoko to cremate/process Geto’s body, but also definitely have wondered about it myself.

It was kind of implied both ways, that MimiNana had something to do with it (with Kenny implying that they made an agreement - whether it was just to kill humans, or more than that like perhaps to heal Geto’s mutilated body? We have no idea.) but also not, because the rest of the cult didn’t seem to know the identity of Kenjaku… so how could they make and agreement with someone they didn’t know?

Presumably, Kenny would be in another host (mystery whose body as Yuji’s mum was presumably already let go by then?), so idk how the cult family wouldn’t know who they made an agreement with over Geto’s body, if Gojo had given it to his cult family to mourn.

But going based on what the person on X said, and how Gege is somewhat protective of Gojo & Geto’s relationship (such as in making his last words to Geto a secret), maybe Gojo really was such a person who had a secretive side to him and he kept Geto’s body to himself for safekeeping 😳

+ it has been addressed by the show/series itself that jujutsu tech lacks the manpower to protect everybody, this is literally part of geto's reasoning for his actions—he knows he and/or his fellow sorcerers r bound to end up with a pile of their colleagues' bodies bc there arent much sorcerers in the world esp ones that could survive for a v long time. if a character is aware of this, that means gege is as well bc he literally wrote him to think about that

My most major issue with gege's writing has to be his pacing. He's such an amazing writer when it comes to symbolism and characterization, yet I feel he falls short when it comes to the speed his story is going, especially considering the most recent chapters. Don’t get me wrong, this has been happening since the beginning (basically chapter one 😭😭), yet it seems more obvious currently, or maybe I just started to notice it. (This isn’t a particularly new take, i’m just sharing my thoughts on it)

For example, Chapter 259 was a beautifully executed chapter, and there should be no debate. It was perfectly in character for Choso to die for his brother by protecting him on the battlefield, so much so that many people even predicted it happening. For him to go out in any other way would have been a disservice to his character, and I applaud gege for carrying it out like he did. BUT WHY WAS IT SO FAST?? Like, yeah, people were mourning, but for LESS THAN A WEEK? Really?😟Maybe i’m on the wrong side of the fandom, but within a couple days, people were hyping up todo, WHEN CHOSO, YUJI’S BROTHER AND ONLY PERSON BY HIS SIDE, DIED. The worst part was that we only saw like 2 panels of yuji mourning before todo just hopped in! Like couldn’t gege have just spaced the two things out?

And I understand that they are in a battle where their lives are at stake, so there is no time to mourn, yet it’s frustrating to see a fan favorite character I spent years enjoying, have such a purposeful end, yet only for it to be forgotten in the next chapter. And I acknowledge that it is partly the fandom's fault, having the hype overshadow the substance in the chapter. And they aren’t in the wrong for being excited, i just wish they’d go back and appreciate choso’s conclusion and gege’s writing, instead of purely riding on hype.

ANOTHER EXAMPLE IS CHAPTER 260! Again, no one’s in the wrong for wanting and focusing on gojo coming back, he’s a fan favorite after all, but it’s just so annoying seeing the entire fandom fixate on one panel, and not appreciating todo and yuji for their work. And in 261, it seems like both of them were just forgotten for gojo and yuta. WHY DID GEGE EVEN BOTHER BRINGING TODO BACK THEN? WHAT WAS THE POINT IN HAVING 260? I guess i just have to see how it plays out ig 😭😭😭
