who could be my enemy in NEBRASKA of all places
expand for context:
if u blocked someone on iphone and then get a mac, that block list does NOT transfer to mac. my work laptop is a mac and i added my imessage stuff there.
so when i open my work laptop on my first day back from the holiday break, i see this nebraska number text me ā€œmerry christmasā€.
NOW NOW iā€™ve only ever blocked two numbers in my life and hereā€™s what i know
canā€™t be anyone from high school bc they all have 985 numbers
canā€™t be anyone from college bc i didnā€™t really have beef w anyone there (like, if we made it to the stage where i have ur number, iā€™d likely never have beef w u) ((also iā€™d remember it bc college was metaphorically yesterday))
the ā€œmerry xmasā€ number is from nebraska (402 area code)
the only person it MIGHT be is my gay high school twitter situationship. we talked a lot in 2016-17 (i thought we were just friends bc i was in my straight era rip) until one of her friends twitter DMā€™d me to be careful with her feelings bc sheā€™s too ā€œsensitiveā€ and ā€œhappy with meā€ or smth?? then the situationship person blocked me and i counter-blocked her
but having a 2016 ex-oomf text me merry christmas in 2023 is a little ā€¦ wacky. like, she isnā€™t even active on twt hmm
tempted to say ā€œwho is thisā€ but twt told me to ignore it :/ what do yā€™all think (if u made it this far lmao)
praying itā€™s something boring

hey!! i am genuinely curious about how the catholic church helped implement the hays code, would you be able to tell me more/do you have any good reading material about it? thanks so much!!
This has been sitting in my inbox for aaaaaages, because I want to do it justice! It's actually a big facet of my research project that I'm going to go into much, much, much more depth on, but here's the short(er) summary:
The foundational text of the Hays Code was written by two Catholics: a Jesuit priest named Father Daniel Lord, and a man named Martin Quigley, who was the editor of the Motion Picture Herald. They grounded their guidelines in Catholic morality and values, based on the idea that art could be a vehicle for evil by negatively influencing the actions of those who view it.
The original list of guidelines written by Lord and Quigley was adapted into the Production Code, popularly known as the "Hays Code" after William Hays, the president of the Production Code Administration that enforced it. As president of the PCA, William Hays appointed a staunch Catholic man called Joseph Breen to enforce the code. Breen enforced it aggressively, confiscating the original reels of films he deemed inappropriate and against the Code. Many lost films from this era are only "lost" because Joseph Breen personally had them destroyed. Some were rediscovered later, but many were completely purged from existence.
When Breen died in 1965, Variety magazine wrote, "More than any single individual, he shaped the moral stature of the American moral picture." He was a very, very big deal, and was directly responsible for censoring more films than I could even begin to list here.
In 1937, Olga J. Martin, Joseph Breenā€™s secretary, said, ā€œTo an impoverished country which had become religious and serious-minded, the sex attitudes of the post-war period became grotesquely unreal and antedated. The public at large wanted to forget its own derelictions of the ā€˜gay twenties.' The stage was set for the moral crusade.ā€
In 1936, once the Code was being fully enforced on filmmakers by Joseph Breen, a letter was issued by the office of Pope Pius XI that praised Breen's work, and encouraged all good Catholics to support film censorship.
The letter read in part, "From time to time, the Bishops will do well to recall to the motion picture industry that, amid the cares of their pastoral ministry, they are under obligation to interest themselves in every form of decent and healthy recreation because they are responsible before God for the moral welfare of their people even during their time of leisure. Their sacred calling constrains them to proclaim clearly and openly that unhealthy and impure entertainment destroys the moral fibre of a nation. They will likewise remind the motion picture industry that the demands which they make regard not only the Catholics but all who patronize the cinema."
Basically, this letter was a reminder from the Papal authority that bishops and priests are supposed to stop people from engaging with "lewd" or "obscene" art. That meant supporting things like the Hays Code.
So, to summarize: the original text of the Hays Code was written by two Catholics, including a priest. The biggest and most aggressive censor under the Code was a Catholic man, who had the full support and approval of the Pope at the time. Good Catholics were called en-masse to support the Hays Code, because it was intentionally written to line up with Catholic teachings.
There's a lot more to say on the subject, and if you're interested in reading more on your own, I recommend the book "Pre-Code Hollywood: Sex, Immorality, and Insurrection in American Cinema, 1930-1934," by Thomas Doherty. There are plenty other sources I can recommend on request, but that's a solid place to start.
(And if I can toot my own horn, I'm intending to do a video lecture series all about American film censorship and the Hays Code. Pledging to my Patreon helps keep me fed and housed while I do all this damn research.)

A Brief Look at Stem(me) History
Wanted to know more about Black lesbian identities and I couldn't find a lot on Tumblr or Twitter so I did some research on stem/stemme myself. I'm not involved in queer discourse like that but I've noticed stemme being compared with futch both positively an negatively. The term "futch" is a mash up of butch and femme and the OG Futch Scale was posted 17th February 2011. In 2015, it got posted to Tumblr and became a meme, then an accidental "guide" on lesbian identity. Regardless of stances pro-futch or anti-futch I wanted to find info on stem/stemme as a Black lesbian identity for gender and gender expression. The modern definition of a stem/stemme is a Black lesbian whose gender expression and mannerisms fall between stud and femme. I've managed to find definitions not only supporting this but also definitions predating the futch scale, both pre and post meme version:
"StemĀ ā€“Ā A person whose gender expression falls somewhere between a stud and a femme.Ā Ā (See also ā€˜Femmeā€™ and ā€˜Studā€™.)" Stud is defined as "An African-American and/or Latina masculine lesbian.Ā  Also known asĀ ā€˜butchā€™ or ā€˜aggressiveā€™." (John Jay College of Criminal Justice LGBTQ+ Terminology, Eli R. Green, 2003-2004)
"Stemm AĀ stemmĀ is a gay/lesbian female whoĀ dressesĀ like a guy, and dressesĀ like a girl. Person 1: Look at that girl, she looks like a dude with all those guy clothes on, she has to be a stud Person 2: Well she was wearingĀ girlyĀ clothes yesterday, so I thought she was aĀ femm Person 3: Actually she's aĀ stemm, she's wears boy clothes sometimes, and girl clothes other times" (Urban Dictionary definition of Stemm by user JenniferHill, November 8th 2009)
"A lesbian, who identifies as a Stemme, retains traits from both Femme and Stud/ Butch lesbians. Stemmes are in the center of the lesbian spectrum of classification and identities. Therefore, it is considered natural or common for Stemme lesbians to share the same behaviors as women of two diverse identity groups. Often times, the Stemme identity is viewed as the ā€œtransitionalā€ stage of lesbianism, when a lesbian woman goes from being a Femme to a Stud/ Butch, or (on rear occasions) from a Stud/ Butch to a Femme... *In this blog the characteristic and behavioral difference between a Femme and a Stud is conjoined. The way a Femme or a Stud dresses is not the only way she can be identified. They can also be distinguished by their attitudes, actions and the way they interact with other people. A Stemme is the in-between identity of a Stud and Femme. She is apart of both groups and her identity is subject to change at anytime. A Stemme identity is often referred to as the transitional stage; however, some lesbian women remain a Stemme because they enjoy representing male and female dominance." (Lesbian Identity: Stemme, Nell S., 6th Nov 2009)
"'one who could switch up one day, she could be a femme and other occasions dress like she has a liā€™l hood, liā€™l ghetto inside her; a stemme ā€“Ā  part femme part stud a tomboy'" (STORY OF INTEREST: Lesbian Speaks Out, Dominica News Online, April 12th 2010)
"Stemmes presented themselves one day as femme and another day as stud; as such, they were visibly unrecognisable unless they divulged their gender identity. Stemmes expose the amorphous nature of gender identity and are invisible ā€“ silenced, ostracised or prescribed a gender identity. Many participants refused to recognise that stemmes existed and instead described them as confused. As Shane (age 22) admitted: ā€˜Sometimes they [studs and femmes] think that weā€™re confused. We donā€™t know what we want to be.ā€™ Stemmes show that personal identity claims were often at odds with community perceptions of identity." (Good gay females and babies' daddies: Black lesbian community norms and the acceptability of pregnancy, Sarah J. Reed, Robin Lin Miller, Maria T. Valenti & Tina M. Timm, 21st April 2011)
"Stem, described as a cross between or combination of stud and femme, is a label that was used to refer to a lesbian that presented both masculine and feminine traits and characteristics. Short Dawg said, 'A stem, for me, is a little mixture of a lot of different things. One day you can be super feminine, and the next day you can be not so feminine.'" (Labelling, Butch, Femme Dyke Or Lipstick, Aren't All Lesbians The Same?: An Exploration Of Labels And "Looks" Among Lesbians In The U.S. South, Danielle Kerr, 2013)
Videos
Who has it harder in the world of lesbians? [studs? stems? or fems?}, iRoqStarStemme, 10th Jan 2011
WTH is a STEM??, AmbersCloset, 1st Feb 2013
The Black Lesbian Handbook: The Stem, Channel 4, 9th Feb 2015
There's a lot more I found and I'll post each article and video separately because they all go into more detail but tl;dr;
Stem(me) is an identity coined by Black lesbian spaces
Stem(me) mainly follows stud/femme dynamics rather than butch/femme (but can reference it)
Stem(me) predates the futch scale meme
Stem(me) is defined by clothing but also behaviours, so it can be a form of Black gender expression or gender itself

"I think that too much of the critical discourse on spapel is made up of people who a: argue they don't fit well romantically b: accuse others of being bitter about spirk or c: hope for spuhura instead so here's my two cents and if I get flames so be it.
Canon spapel isn't weird because chapel is a white woman, but because spock always makes very clear that he doesn't love her back. If they did a reboot or prequel of ds9 and they retconned jadzia into having feelings for and dating julian the fandom would (reasonably) say that would be a major, negative change for a female character to suddenly love a male character she rejected before. Where is this energy for the men? Every mainstream "unrequited love" media I ever saw either the man secretly loves the woman back or falls in the end, or he ends up being an asshole to be shadowed by the "better" love interest to sweep her off her feet. Can't we have a male character who doesn't want to be in a relationship with a female character not because he's gay or ace, but simply because not interested in that particular woman? Must there be a painful history between a man and a woman to explain why he doesn't want to be with her? I don't care that they make spock have straight romances but I would prefer he dates the freaking horta over chapel /j"

I think writing a sitcom based on my maternal side of the family and small town life in south central Appalachia would be fantastic. A slightly dysfunctional but very loving extended working class family full of people who are hilarious, loving, accepting, helpful and very smart but constrained by the cycles of poverty, addiction, mental illness and general lack of resources and opportunities in the area.
Iā€™ve never never been around my maternal family and felt unloved in the slightest, felt insecure about being gay or the black sheep. Theyā€™re good people. All of those people love me and they love my mom. Cousins Iā€™d never heard of tried to step in and help her get away from my dad. Not the same with my paternal family, itā€™s always tense.
Examinations of Appalachian family structures are almost always negative and voyeuristic, except for like, The Waltons I guess. The documentaries done on Appalachian families suck ass. Fuck J. D. Vance big time.

Just had the most sexually charged / weirdly queerly platonic but still sexually charged experience of my life help (FRIENDS INVOLVED IF YOU SEE THIS NO YOU DONT LEAVE ME BEšŸ§šŸ»)
Tumblr media
Me: *tells gecko I love when him and fly tease me in front of friends, how I wish they would do it more often (because lowkey something queer platonic and very very sexual lurks within this server istg cuz my friends be FINE AS FUCK sometimes man, Iā€™ll explain in an end note)*
šŸ¦ŽGecko: *takes me up on it, we get consent from the group of friends weā€™re gaming with because weā€™re at that kinda friendship / bond level and the conversation turns to my tumblr because the conversation had been a lil sexually charged for a HOT second.*
Me: *attempting not to die in our game, fully and well embarrassed and flustered because this is extremely hot and everyoneā€™s focusing on me, Iā€™m trying to think but literally all my blood rushed to my dick on top of me being stoned*
A friend of mine: *asks about getting a link to my tumblr and asking if he should read out my posts*
Me: *silently asking god if this is what people feel before dying because Iā€™ve never been that unfocused, highkey so hard I might cry and light headed*
šŸ¦ŽGecko: *dms me a picture of a post I made about šŸŒ…Haven*
Me: *feels my heart stop and I fully blue screen, im definitely gonna have complicated feelings about this later but thatā€™s not my business*
Another friend: *makes a comment about how none of this surprises them, adding to my embarrassment n struggle to think properly (not negative)*
Everyone: *making comments about me like Iā€™m a dog theyā€™re cooing at, getting called cute by gecko in DMs, one of my other friends making a comment about how flustered I am making my head swim*
Bonus:
*me and a friend texting, Iā€™m stoned and wanting attention and someone to game with and I keep begging them to join me and Iā€™m being a brat about it and weā€™re lowkey kinda being gay and sassing one another*
Nonbinary (Ikyk) friend of mine: ā€œkeep begging I dare you, I might get the wrong impressionā€
Me: *literally stopā€™s functioning and my brain turns off a second before I react totally normal and in a normal way* ā€œYOU CANT JUST SAY THAT TO A HOMOSEXUALā€
Tumblr media
(Note: something homosexual keeps happening in this server istg, this shit keeps happening and istg at some point two (or more) ppl are gonna kiss and everyone whoā€™s been flirting platonically is gonna fuckšŸ˜’. Hello! I was wondering how queer relationships will be handled in your story? Will there be any difference between them and straight romances? For example, if my gay MC is romancing Jean, will there be some different dialogue than if my MC were a girl? I'm down to read no matter what, just like to gauge this when reading IF's! šŸ˜ŠšŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ
Queer relationships are completely different from straight ones^^
Tumblr media
Uma is probably the one with the least changes now that I think about it. They react to MC's gender but the variants are sort of similar.
Travis and Kai + Uma are the only three ROs who are openly out of the closet. They acknowledge MC's gender but they don't really care ajdka their attitude is the same regardless. Kai is more open with their very based "fuck homophobes" policy and they do give more reactions when out in public with MC. Maybe Fem!Kai more so than Male!Kai because of Liv^^ but don't quote me on that^^
Wanda doesn't hide the fact that she's queer but she's surprisingly not as open about it. People really don't like her so she takes a page off of J's book and has decided to remain in the closet just in case! Wanda and a female/enby!MC will often be mistaken as "friends" publicly.
Jade/Jean isn't really ashamed of being queer but they do feel a strange sense of empowerment by "fitting in" the spectrum of normalcy (cis white hetero). J is also kind of scared of their father not accepting that side of them. They see no positive outcome in coming out of the closet, and so they don't want to. Same-sex relationship/enby MC and J have a secret relationship instead of dating openly.
Statler has two completely different routes depending on gender. Their queerness is something they feel ashamed of, and they've repressed that side of them to the point where they can just... pretend it's not there. Statler has a lot of internalized homophobia. They'll never be outwardly negative toward any queer characters, all of Statler's hate is reserved to themself. It's a "Statler-thing".

on a scale of 1/10 how gay is every sekaiju boss
Oh geez.
ThanksgivingDinner: ... I don't know how more CookedTurkeys happen and I'm not sure I want to know either.
DeviledEggsterminator: I don't think the concept of attraction is programmed into it.
Jimbly: He has a wife and nothing indicates him being bi. Definitely an ally though!
Virinus: She's in the negatives she literally killed Hairon... /j, but she is very straight considering Kony
Lleh: Still not gay. Then again do you want LLEH to be gay?
Mona: This is the first one where I can kind of see it. Though I can just as easily see her in the negatives.
Du&Bu: I have no idea
Kony: I mean the guy is dating an alien so who knows
Picutris: At first he thought it was weird, but after a self-finding journey realized it wasn't all that strange after all.
Stellarax: She had a husband
Warmonger: No
Leucipe: Finally a W! I'd solidly put her at 6 or 7.
Quillon: 7
Swarac: Canonically aro
Gyro: Canonically pan
Oonh: Oonh/10 (/j). idk he's a whale
Vermis: idk he's a creature. Actually I might have heard he's actually multiple creatures inhabiting one rock and if that is indeed the case and I'm not crazy then that's pretty gay innit. At least if they're not in the same family if they're related then nevermind.
Termos: idk I can see it 6/10
Com: Somewhere around 5
Vyvin: Definitely closeted 8/10
Vorazoth: That is a rock
Zeth: There is some homestuck hateloving going on between him and Elbus I swear 9/10
Elbus: See above
Ogeid: ... No I don't think so
Cincon: 10/10 canonically gay
Spectrum: Has a husband
Doro: Wife to the above. Worth noting Doro is shorter though so there might be something interesting going on there.
MemoryWell: Uhhhhhhh
Pythias: They're literally 5 PulseBolts that's kind of gay. Assuming it's not like a dad or mom pulsebolt or something.
Hagall (tank): Hagall (tank)
Hairon: Canon gay 10/10
Plasmalde: 5/10 sure why not
Tyriz: He doesn't strike me as very gay but not as very straight either. 3/10? Also 100% an ally either way.
Aversa: More gay than her sister for sure.
Gateau: Probably not
Nelid: Rock
Brand: I think one of the heads is very gay and the other is completely straight that would be funny
Picceli: Straight
Sukhjot: Rock that ruined the life of gay people
PT-01-ANALOG: UNAPPLICABLE.
Faminewreaker: ... No...
MacRoenn: Look how concerned he is for Alviion... CLEARLY there's something there,,, (/j?)
Alviion: Probably less gay than MacRoenn
Guartan: Unlikely. Another robot.
Ophanium: At first I thought there was a lot of tension between him and Raphael but then I realized that'd be pretty weird since Raphael is like literally his creation. Now I imagine Tempus is just a really big dispute between dad Ophanium and rebellious son Raphael.
TA-5: Canon gay 10/10
Hail: If she's gay she doesn't realize it. You could say she's BLIND to it,,,
Plaguebringer:
MrGoogles: Doesn't really get it at all.
Banafrit: If she got out? 8/10 probably.
Daemon: ophione is canon gay 10/10. at this point i dont think daemon cares much about romance though
EssenceOfSekaiju: That is a planet.

Incredibox oc bio/Story
(I think it will be a little long)
((sensitive topics warning(?))
ā€”Kahunna Kai (Alexander Agan)
((obs: He's a villain so-))
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I'm proud of what I've evolved in polo edits lololol)
Initially, I would have to tell the story of Alexander, before his death
(thats is him ā†“)
Tumblr media
Alexander was born in 1844 in France in a middle class family with his mother's and three siblings, He being the youngest in the middle, Before he died he was 24-25 years old.
Alexander has always had a tendency to be a bit sadistic and aggressive, Theories suggest that he is like this because of the abuse he suffered from his mother when he was a boy. He always had a strange behavior, sometimes appearing to be insane.
Many people of his time thought he was the murderer and rapist who was on the loose at the time, And indeed, they were right, Alexander used to hunt younger men or men his own age to rape and kill them, He did this for years until he was caught killing a man by a woman called "Mary Cristiane Pierre", who was a not-so-close "friend" of his (Not so close friend because he hated her because she was a lesbian and married to a trans woman), When she caught him, he obviously tried to kill her, but failing, she ran, but unfortunately for her, she took him to her own home accidentally, So since Alexander couldn't kill her, he killed Mary's wife, And then Mary hated Alexander for killing the love of her life, she killed him in the same way he killed her wife.
((now, Alexander died and Kahunna was born))
After his death, Lewvik himself punished him, Making Alexander look hideous like a demon, and as a bonus, God removed the demon's private parts so he couldn't rape any more people. (Yeah... now he has female parts, transmasc kahunna cannon/j)
But even that didn't stop the demon from roaming the mortal world and possessing people, As a form of revenge against Mary, he possessed her and used her body to continue doing what he always did until she got insane and committed suicide, But he still wasn't satisfied with just possessing Mary, he wanted more people...With only Mary's son left as his host, he used his body.
He went on to possess and haunt generations of Mary's family, Until present times, in which its current host is Percy Pierre
Now Kahunna's current biography
ā€”Kahunna Kai is a demon who is currently 180 years old (Having an appearance of 27 or more), He is a gay cis man (who hates lesbian women), Currently he is weakened by his host who is an average witch
His icons and music are: Effect (probably a evil laugh or sumthin), Vocal (In demon appearance, probably whispers), Vocal (in human appearence, back vocal)
Kahunna some addictions that make him stronger, such as: alcoholism and smoking
But other things that also give it a minimum of power, such as feeding on negative energies, fear, Arguments or fights, harassment or rape, So he tries to do everything to feel stronger
I think the information is over, here are some of his arts/things:

i want to thank you for your post from a few months ago about abandoning the idea that health is good. it's helped me process and unpack just how much the health framework has damaged me (and everyone; you could get multiple phds exploring how the concept of health categorizes and controls bodies!). and those ideas have extended beyond my personal life to my academic and professional writing and my interactions with loved ones - they've reached and impacted a lot of people.
i was a disabled child in a family of career athletes; the health paradigm was deeply engrained at an early age. now that i'm finally shaking those teachings, i've gotten a lot out of reanalyzing ideas i've always framed through a health lens. if it doesn't matter if i "eat healthily," since that's a meaningless concept, then how and why do i choose what i eat? why do i want to stretch regularly, if not because it's healthy and my doctors said it will improve my disability? how does my relationship with substance use change when health is taken out of the equation?
in these questions, i often find there's deeper and more satisfying reasons for my feelings and actions. this process reminds me of my experience with transness, in a way. reconsidering the concepts and assumptions underpinning a framework, deciding the whole framework is useless to you, and exploring what lies beyond it. thank you for opening such a freeing and fascinating door :-)
oh, woah, this absolutely made me cry, i truly canā€™t express how meaningful this is for me. (as you might know from following my blog lol) iā€™m homebound & only see two people in person unless iā€™m at the doctor, so this feeling of connection to other folks in my community is so deeply valuable, i really canā€™t thank you enough šŸ’“šŸ’“
i definitely relate to the sense of rejecting health leading to a changed perspective on, like, everything in my life + prompting more intentional ways of engaging with my choices, routines, etc. following that theme of community, lineage, & ideas that ripple out, iā€™d love to take the time to mention just a few of the scholars, ancestors, comrades, & friends who have been life-changing for me in this area!
while there is a lot of transformative & vital work within disability studies, thereā€™s still a lot of structural barriers against sick peopleā€™s contributions to formal theory + a lot of direct & indirect reinforcement of health as a good thing in the field. so iā€™ve found in many cases more resonant work in trans studies, mad studies, & postcolonial studies, by people affirming the pathology of their own identities & positions. just a few favorites of mine from within, across, & outside of these fields, in no particular order:
these were all immensely profound to me, but this last work, following Fanon, was such a complete & total frame shift for me that i feel the need to include some of it here (emphasis added):
This is precisely what Gordon argues is the value and insight of Fanon: he fully accepts the definition of himself as pathological as it is imposed by a world that knows itself through that imposition, rather than remaining in a reactive stance that insists on the (temporal, moral, etc.) heterogeneity between a self and an imago originating in culture. Though it may appear counterintuitive, or rather because it is counterintuitive, this acceptance or affirmation is active; it is a willing or willingness, in other words, to pay whatever social costs accrue to being black, to inhabiting blackness, to living a black social life under the shadow of social death.
This is not an accommodation to the dictates of the antiblack world. The affirmation of blackness, which is to say an affirmation of pathological being, is a refusal to distance oneself from blackness in a valorization of minor differences that bring one closer to health, to life, or to sociality.
[ā€¦] In a world structured by the twin axioms of white superiority and black inferiority, of white existence and black nonexistence, a world structured by a negative categorical imperativeā€” ā€œabove all, donā€™t be blackā€ (Gordon 1997: 63)ā€”in this world, the zero degree of transformation is the turn toward blackness, a turn toward the shame, as it were, that ā€œresides in the idea that ā€˜I am thought of as less than humanā€™ā€ (Nyongā€™o 2002: 389). In this we might create a transvaluation of pathology itself, something like an embrace of pathology without pathos.
To speak of black social life and black social death, black social life against black social death, black social life as black social death, black social life in black social deathā€”all of this is to find oneself in the midst of an argument that is also a profound agreement, an agreement that takes shape in (between) meconnaissance and (dis)belief. Black optimism is not the negation of the negation that is afro-pessimism, just as black social life does not negate black social death by inhabiting it and vitalizing it. A living death is as much a death as it is a living.
if you want a pdf of any of these & are unable to find one feel free to hmu (although they will likely come with my annotations lol). this was a major topic of my masterā€™s thesis for my disability studies degree (which was actually about disabled trans people, so i love that you connected this process of rejecting normality to transness in your own experience ā€“ i relate to that a lot) & iā€™m also happy to share that research with anyone whoā€™s interested :)
i also have relevant thoughts & reblogs in my ā€œstay sickā€ tag here (which iā€™ll add to this post) & my ā€œembracing abjectionā€ tag here + more broadly on my main.
& just a few of the many folks whose work + lives have shaped mine: @kelpforestdwellers @heavyweightheart @librarycards @crutchbutch @gatheringbones
i would also (always) absolutely love to hear more about your thoughts + writing if you would like to share! thank you again for taking the time to share this with me, i appreciate it more than i can say šŸ’“šŸ’“

Percentage of chances of what could happen in the movie? both positive āœ…ļø or negativeāŒļø
Percentage of chances of what could happen in the Community movie? Alright, let's go.
First of all, I'd like you all to check out @community4gaza, a Community NBC fundraising event! Here's their Carrd.
We're gonna start off strong and pull out the big guns: Trobed. Listen, I don't think we're getting Trobed. I don't think we're getting any couple, actually. Jeffannie would be too controversial for today's cancellation culture (and rightfully so) and Jeffbritta would make a lot of the fanbase angry because they're obsessed with Annie and have hatred for Britta because in their Jeffannie fanfics, Britta is the "bad one". Sorry, got a little carried away there. Back to Trobed: I don't think Dan Harmon wants them together. I mean, there's absolutely no way he's not aware of Trobed, but I don't think he'll do anything about it. Maybe some references and etc, but I don't think they'll be canon. C'mon, guys, they're already gay enough in the TV show, they don't even NEED to be canon. Leave some space for us Jeffbrittas.šŸ™„/j
So, in my opinion, chance of Trobed being canon? 30%.
Now that we're done with the happy part, let's talk about the subject that has us all kinda sketchy and scared... will Jeffannie be canon in the movie? We all hope it won't, but it's hard not to imagine that it might be, especially considering the S6 finale (which, in my opinion, had no sense) and the big Jeffannie fanbase. As I said earlier, imagining a controversial/taboo ship like Jeffannie in 2024 would be weird. I mean, the current Community fanbase has noticed how weird and creepy they were. But Dan Harmon really likes them, and Alison Brie does, too. Lady, we all have a thing for Joel Mchale, but there's no way you acted the Annie "we don't love Jeff" speech in Virtual System Analysis and STILL want Jeffannie canon. Dan Harmon will probably want his self-insert to end up with the 18yr old, and now that Annie will be 35 in the movie, she'll be "fair-game" to the gross men that sexualize her and ship her with Jeff because they identify with him constantly. Gross.
In my opinion, chance of Jeffannie getting endgame? 45%, sadly.
Now: Are gonna get the ORIGINAL Britta? Well... I've talked about Britta's character deterioration here and here. She definitely had a major downgrade, mainly because they tried to make her dumber so that Annie seems more smart and most importantly mature. I'll leave it up to you to think why they did that. Or just read my post about it. The thing is, we all know Britta's character has changed drastically since S1. Now, do I think they'll fix Britta? I never thought about it, but I actually think we might. I mean, Britta is probably the most critiqued aspect of Community, to the point where she gets overhated for no reason. "Oh, Britta's in this?" YES SHE IS AND SHE'S FUCKING RULING IT
In my opinion, chance of Britta being correctly characterized is 75%!!!! BRITTA FOR THE WIN!
Are we gonna get Frankie for the Community movie? I'm not sure, I don't think Paget Brewster confirmed anything. Either way, I think I'd enjoy the Community movie more if she was a secondary character. Don't get me wrong, I love Frankie, but I'd like the Community movie to be about the main cast and the main cast only.
Chance of Frankie in the Community movie? Uncertain???
Alright, these are some of the questions I've seen a lot of people ask or want for the Community movie. You can ask me more in the comments, if you'd like. My askbox is also always open. I AM SO BORED.
