The story for these three

Jake is an absolute Himbo who can cook is someone helps him through it. He can recite the entire history of certain workouts and works at a gym, he just gets confused if he doesn’t know exactly what to do. He fell in love with Mary in his teen years and was happy to love her while she loved Lyndsey, and later ended up falling in love with her as well. He’s a massive puppy of a man who is hopelessly in love with his wives.

Mary is a bisexual Christian woman who loves to cook and bake. She’s unable to work due to a disability but is happy as a homemaker. She fell in love with both Lyndsey and Jake in her teen years and decided she couldn’t pick between them. Lyndsey removed herself from the situation and Jake and Mary married, but Mary always held a flame. Jake gave her permission to date Lyndsey as well, to which they eventually promoted her to wife.

Lyndsey is an outspoken feminist who held a flame for Mary since childhood, but ultimately just wanted her happy. She left their three person friend group when she went away for college and watched them get married from the side lines. She never intended to interrupt that, but her and Mary met up again at a protest and it was clear there was still something there. They didn’t act on it, but Mary came to her later saying Jake wanted them to give it a try.

She didn’t dislike Jake, but saw him as a bit of a meathead. She often teased him about being a dudebro but found herself growing fond of him as they spent more time together. When she finally was blunt about it and asked it they wanted to turn their V into a triangle Jake agreed like the happy puppy he was.

She also can’t cook for shit.

There's this subreddit called "r/gatekeepingyuri" that takes memes (usually by conservatives or radfems, but every now and then you get a plain old “Virgin vs. Chad” meme) that pit two types of people against each other and the subreddit instead ships them and it’s honestly a lot of fun.

For example: Say there’s a conservative meme that’s all like “men then vs men now” and it’s trying to frame 50s men as superior to modern men.

r/Gatekeepingyuri takes that meme and draws shipping fanart of the two men and shows them being loving and supportive of each other’s lifestyles.

10/10 subreddit, would recommend.

tumblr is not a hellsite. this is a decent platform with Worth (because a lot of its users are good && because you can curate your experience very well). reddit, however, is a hellsite because it Fucking Sucks. the UI is bad and a lot of the people are bad.

with my extensive experience on that site (because I hate myself && it was very easy for an anti-social teenager to learn to use), I argue that there are only 3 "general-use" subreddits that have any sort of worth (aside from the cat picture subs && the fandom subs, which have target demographics which keep them relatively clean):

1) HobbyDrama. Legitimately the best subreddit on that website. It's got a great community and has some very well-researched pieces which are genuinely amazing reads. Really fucking good.

2) GatekeepingYuri. It turns gatekeeping/bigoted memes (mostly "not like the other girls stuff, but it varies) and makes them queer. Ya see some really good art and the user base is just very positive. Great sub 👍

3) bonehurtingjuice. It's a creative meme sub which has not hit either of the two common fates that meme subs usually face: stagnation or conservatism. The user base has some really creative people and has some genuinely really funny pieces, which stem from the format of trying to subvert the intention of the oregano (original piece). There's trends there, of course, that sometimes get beaten to death but overall the quality is consistently pretty good and it's not a right-wing cesspool so. Decent place.

4) Honourable mention goes to transgendercirclejerk I love that sub a lot. It fucking sucks ass a ton but it's my garbage pit, yknow? Also the only trans space I feel comfortable looking at since it can be genuinely funny ++ it's not filled with. well okay yeah it is filled with discourse but in the sense that people go there to complain about discourse which makes it bearable.

and no, 196 nor AITA nor any of the other popular subreddits do not have worth they suck as much as the others do. 196 has the whole fetishising trans people angle && centering on white skinniness which isn't as wholesome progressive as they claim to be, and AITA is rage-bait creative-writing central. entertaining in viral screenshots, yes, but not something you'd want to subject yourself to everyday.

That sub fucking sucks, it keeps trying to make bigots in shitty memes cute and good people.

Like the whole gatekeepingyuri worked because it was about how the patriarchy seperates and devalues women for choices like make up and clothes and said what if women were together and united? And it was cute. But I keep seeing requests for bigots. Like the terfs, general transphobia, misogyny and racists keep being recommend for the """uwuuwuu they should kiss instead 🥺🥺🥺🥺👉👉👈👈👈"". I made some gay doctors for gatekeepingyuri!

The story so far!

Michael is a young doctor who’s just finished his residency and is excited for the future ahead when he suffers an accident. Blacking out, he awakes injured in a world trapped in the Middle Ages. He’s confused and scared by the strangely dressed people around him, but he finds himself brought to the door of the mysterious Dr. Blackwell. The plague doctor is a large and intimidating, but quiet, man who treats Michael’s injuries with archaic methods.

As he heals under the watchful eye of the doctor Michael begins to share his profession and knowledge as a doctor, and though many of his ‘theories’ are preposterous to Blackwell, he recognizes the skill of the young man and takes him under his wing.

Michael does his best to adapt to the time and save as many people as he can without the use of the tech he’d come to rely on, both teaching and learning from the mysterious man.

Dr. Blackwell becomes enamored with the man that’s by his side, who tells tales of tiny creatures and insists on wearing his cloth masks over the proper wear, who sterilizes everything in boiling water before each surgery and has a high survival rate, but is also far too slow and careful. A man who doesn’t flinch at the sight of blood yet can’t bear to hear the patients scream. Who doesn’t fear the doctor, sharing little smiles and stories about a world in the future.

It’s a story about finding a place in the world not your own, about teaching while learning, and adapting most of all. It’s also about love, they just don’t know that yet.
