Going deep into my delusions here but I think wanting to test yuki and see if he could potentially be a rbr driver partly influenced the daniel decision like helmut has praised him this season and yuki has been driving very well with the shitbox he has but I think Redbull are being more cautious as they have learnt their lesson in the past with promoting younger drivers esp if said younger driver will be maxs teammate and tho yuki has been driving well, the ultimate test in f1 is beating your teammate and nyck hasn't really given anything to test yuki and neither would throwing another rookie like liam in mid-season, daniel however is an experienced driver but also someone who was used by mclaren to show a young drivers potential like with lando (I know this sounds shady but I couldnt think of a better way to say it sorry daniel love you tho 😭) so I think it would give redbull a better idea of yuki and his potential

if yuki delivers, I think there's a case to be made redbull will try to keep him over honda (they've both invested in his career after all). and well, if fernando keeps outperforming lance, and he doesn't retire by 2026, then lawrence stroll either has to fire his son or go against the board of directors to fire their better performing driver just to bring in yuki with honda...

the question becomes will rb consider him a 2nd seat potential, or gaslyfication of yuki and keep him as the Team Leader and Develop the alpha tauri [to be renamed], the way alex is with Williams rn. many things to consider!
