I think having vaggie be rivals/ex lovers with lute would be such a fun dynamic. Like they grow up together being gay and all that, training to be the best exterminators they can be! But when vaggie starts to out rank lute she starts to seeth with jealousy, lute sees vaggie spare a sinner and flies into a blind rage and attacks vaggie! Better to put her down then let her stay compassionate.

Then vaggie has so much more angst to her! And when she goes back up to heaven lute starts to freak out cuz UH OH, she told everyone that vaggie died in battle!
