Profiles in Villainy
Garou the Human Monster
A one-time prized student of the hero sansei known as Bang, Garou showed tremendous prowess as one of the greatest fighters ever.  Yet he was banished from Bang’s academy after he had violently assaulted a number of his fellow students.   From here Garou began his mission of becoming the ultimate monster by targeting and defeating any hero he came across, resulting in the Hero Association viewing him as public enemy number one and calling him the Human Monster.
Garou’s over-arching goal was to become the world’s first god-level threat and that the danger he would pose would have the effect of bonding all nations together.  He believed the fear he could cause would unify all of humanity, putting an end to mankind’s animosities toward one another.  It has never been entirely clear if this lofty goal is Garou’s true intention or if it is just an excuse he has created to indulge in his desire for violence and need to prove himself as the greatest of warriors.
Despite his tremendous skill, Garou is unable to defeat Saitama (One Punch Man).  And yet, continued combat against Saitama awakens in Garoua a new energy source called the ‘Cosmic Fear Mode.’  This alters his appearance and bestows him greater power, power enough to stand his ground against Saitama.  It is the toughest battle Saitama has ever had and he required 100% of his power to finally defeat Garoua.
Although defeated and broken, Garou is not destroyed and it is likely that the Human Monster will return at some point down the line.
Actor Hikaru Midorikawa  provides the voice for Garou (with actor Greg Chun voicing the character in the English language dub)  The monstrous villain first appeared in the thirteenth episode of the One-Punch Man anime, airing on April 9th, 2019.

Garoua-Boulaï, Cameroon — Russia's Wagner mercenary group has again claimed control of the contested Ukrainian city of Bakhmut — a claim yet again denied by Kyiv, which says its forces are still fighting southwest of the industrial town and advancing around its flanks. The dense fog of war makes it difficult to determine whether one of the longest and bloodiest battles of the Ukraine war has really come to an end.
The leader of the private Wagner group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a longtime associate of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said his forces were taking a break, resting for a few days now that their mission in Bakhmut is complete, and he's handing control of the city over to regular Russian troops.
The mercenaries leave behind a blood-stained trail. Alongside Russia's military forces, they've been accused of thousands of war crimes since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine was launched in February 2022.
But long before the Wagner Group rose to global infamy in Ukraine, the mercenaries were active in parts of Africa, and they stand accused of committing similar atrocities there. Our CBS News investigation previously revealed how Wagner — designated a "transnational criminal organization" by the U.S. government — plunders mineral-rich nations including the Central African Republic (CAR) to fund its criminal and paramilitary activities, such as its role in the Ukraine war.
To maintain control over lucrative gold mines and timber forests, the Wagner Group virtually runs the Central African Republic through fear and violence.
Editor's note: This report includes details of sexual assault and other violence that some people may find distressing.
You can click through to see that, I ain't posting it.

President Ahmadou Ahidjo (August 24, 1924 - November 30, 1989) was the first president of Cameroon. He was born in Garoua in northern Cameroon. His father was a local Fulani chief. His first job was as a radio operator for the postal service. He was the first person from the northern part of Cameroon to work in the civil service in the south of Cameroon.
He entered local politics. He was a member of the territorial Assembly. He served as president of the Assembly. He became prime minister and began negotiating with France to gain independence for Cameroon. Cameroon became independent on January 1, 1960.
He became the first president of independent Cameroon. He continued Cameroon’s close ties with France, but he turned his attention to uniting his country with the smaller colony of British Cameroon. The UN agreed on an integration and reunification plebiscite. He worked with the premier of Anglophone Cameroon throughout the process of integrating the two parts of Cameroon into a united nation. On October 1, 1961, the two separate Cameroons were merged, establishing the Federal Republic of Cameroon.
He created a one-party state. He was committed to Pan-African ideals and African socialism but was not considered a radical compared to other African leaders who espoused socialism. He maintained close ties with the French state and with Western, democratic countries.
He resigned as president of Cameroon due to exhaustion and other health-related issues. The government claimed his supporters were behind an attempted coup. He was tried in absentia and sentenced to death. A second violent, but unsuccessful coup attempt, allegedly by his supporters was suppressed by the armed forces. He spent his remaining years in exile in Senegal and France.
He was married to Germaine Habiba Ahidjo. They had four children. #africanhistory365 #afticanexcellence

Issa Hayatou
Le riche parcours d’un prince
Tumblr media
