Where I'm going for site visit, my water filter I set up, and the birthday party! (He's the little boy in a suit!) What a day! School was pretty exciting because like 6 volunteers who have already been living here for over a year (some two or more!) visited us and talked about what to expect. We got to ask them a ton of very important questions... like about mango flies, toilets, and their sites! Literally peace corps volunteers are some of the most interesting people to talk to!! THEN I found out where I am going to visit next Wednesday! It is a village in the North West region called Bambalang! I heard from another volunteer that it is very pretty and has a lake there. I'm going there with Frances and Lauren. Also, the volunteer's site that we are visiting is one that I talked to around the first week after getting my host family! She had it pretty tough starting out with her host family so it was nice to have someone to talk to about it. Im happy I'm going to a visit a volunteer that I know a little. After school I went to Catalina's house (some people drank wine), the bar (some people drank beer lol), and then to a birthday party for another volunteers like 8(I guess) year old host brother!! The mom of the boy is the lady who brings us lunch at school (it's buffet style and is like 1000 cfa). Pictures are posted above of the party. My gift for him was a stress ball I stole from the training sessions we've been having! Haha The food was great there, a ton on volunteers came, there was a little baby, and a cat! Afterwards, we drove home in a car with another volunteer (it was her host brothers). I then realized, that was the first time I've been in a car in Foumbot! The roads don't do too well for cars and it makes me car sick easily... luckily it was a short time. I'm so excited for site visits coming up. Also, because I get home later after he market is closing I haven't got my fabric with mamma yet. The plan now is to go after school.. but we'll see. She told me it would be done before I leave for the site visits! I'm having a really good time here. Every day is a challenge but good days like today are so worth it. After site visit I'll start actually teaching in a model school so that's going to be interesting! Also, today at the party there were suckers with glow sticks (you know the ones you crack to work) as the sticks for them. I found it funny because that would never be allowed in the States for safety reasons! I'm ready for the weekend.. that means market day, laundry, and going for an interesting workout at the track!
