Here are a few art lessons I learned while continuing my TGCF Gargoyles AU:

1.Always sketch and color at your own pace.

2.Concentration is the key to eye catching art.

3.Make sure Gray and Silver contrast well.

4.Gargoyle Talons are hard as heck to draw!

Hua Cheng:

Dude would deadass pull off the three clawed wingtips. Shout out to Brooklyn, Demona, Angela and Elisa Maza for pulling it off!

As of the Canon Gargoyles Comics, Brooklyn and Hua Cheng are officially Eyepatch bros.

I hope the silver coloring pencil manages to contrast Hua Cheng’s light grey skin.

Finally finished Hua Cheng all night! Now he matches Dianxia!

Okay, I've been discussing a Gargoyles and Disney Princess crossover fic with my friend @19molly97 aka SonicFanGirl321, who is the genius behind these ships. She also liked my inclusion of Snow White x Lexington because I explained that I felt he would feel a little left out and lonely with no princess of his own. I thought their personalities would mesh well together. Plus, he's the smallest gargoyle in his group, and she's the shortest princess in the lineup.

So below I copied and pasted SonicFanGirl321's explanations for shipping Griff x Aurora, Cinderella x Brooklyn, and Fairy Godmother x Hudson. Additionally, I copied and pasted mine for Snowie and Lex.

𝙶𝚛𝚒𝚏𝚏 𝚡 𝙰𝚞𝚛𝚘𝚛𝚊: Between the two of them, Griff and Aurora have some common ground. Being thrust into a whole new lifestyle. And finding their place in their new lives. Both characters are very charming and dutiful in their own ways. (Plus, both are lacking in more screen time.)

𝚂𝚗𝚘𝚠 𝚆𝚑𝚒𝚝𝚎 𝚡 𝙻𝚎𝚡𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚝𝚘𝚗: Snow White's gentle and nurturing nature perfectly complements Lexington's intelligent and tech-savvy personality. Snow White’s kindness and patience can help balance Lexington's sometimes anxious and overthinking tendencies. Her calming presence brings peace and stability to Lexington, who often finds solace in her soothing demeanor. And (I'm aware that Lexington was confirmed as gay, but I call BS on that because he was attracted to Angela, so he's bisexual!)

𝙱𝚛𝚘𝚘𝚔𝚕𝚢𝚗 𝚡 𝙲𝚒𝚗𝚍𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚕𝚕𝚊: Both characters are rebellious in their own way. Both characters have a thing for music. With Cinderella being the kind soul she is, she’d treat the gargoyles with respect and love. Which would win over Brooklyn. Plus, with her high tolerance, she could help Brooklyn control his temper.  

𝙵𝚊𝚒𝚛𝚢 𝙶𝚘𝚍𝚖𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚡 𝙷𝚞𝚍𝚜𝚘𝚗: I’ve been thinking that Fairy Godmother is one of Oberon’s children, and one of the few who come to aid humans. She’s a very sweet old lady which I think might get Hudson to like her. Her cheery nature might help Hudson lighten up.

Mu Qing! Finally! Like Ling Wen, I finished sketching and coloring him yesterday

-I gave him a beak to lean into the art style of Gargoyles. (And also because of my favorite and platonic crush on Brooklyn). I didn’t want to color his hair gray, ‘cause then he would’ve looked like a Brooklyn carbon copy. Also his pointy ears are concealed due to unintentional color blending.

-Speaking of Brooklyn, Mu Qing and him are on contrasting ends of the romance spectrum. While we all know in the series and comics, Brooklyn is a ladies-goyle. Meanwhile, Mu Qing, on the other hand, practices abstinence in his cultivation.

-He was really fun to sketch!

So I was info dumping on a dear friend after work, she’s truly interested in joining the Gargoyles fandom and I jumped on the opportunity, but I’m also here to confess something.

I feel like a bad fan because, in my haste to seize the chance to welcome her into our world-wide clan of Gargoyles fans, I accidentally referred to the Trio as “the Triplets” and kept doing so for the entire forty minutes we talked😫🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️
