He grunted softly, stiffening his shoulders as best he could. The dull aching in his chest was being rather worse recently, grinding his palm against the markings. The orb buried inside him was throbbing, even though it was supposedly stable, he was sure it was still hungry. Not worth anything to try to absorb power again, just ... it knew what it could do, surely. But letting anyone know of this discomfort felt like a bad idea, so he did his best to keep the noises quiet and his face hidden.
