Idea Factory International has revealed the opening movie for their upcoming game, Death end re;Quest. The movie introduces some of the characters in the game and gives a look at World Odyssey (W.O.D.). You can check out the opening movie below.

  The protagonists of the game are Shina Ninomiya and Arata Mizunashi. You can read more about them below.

Shina Ninomiya:

Shina wakes up inside of World’s Odyssey, the VRMMORPG which had been cancelled for nearly a year, with no memory of her arrival. She served as the game’s director for the duration of its development until her mysterious disappearance. With no way to perform a manual log-out, she sets out to complete the game’s perfect ending.

  Arata Mizunashi:

Enigma Games’ lead programmer, who helped develop World’s Odyssey alongside Shina Ninomiya. A year after Shina’s disappearance, he finds that she is trapped inside World’s Odyssey and needs to get the perfect ending to log out safely. In order to help Shina on her quest, Arata manipulates the game’s code in real-time, fixing bugs that threaten the lives of her and her party. It is up to Arata to travel between the game and the real world to investigate the mystery of Shina’s disappearance…

  The story of Death end re;Quest is as follows:

Arata Mizunashi, a video game programmer, receives a notification from an email sent to him by Shina Ninomiya, a colleague of his who went missing nearly one year ago. Together, they worked to create World’s Odyssey (W.O.D.), an immersive virtual landscape powered by breathtaking, state-of-the-art technology. That is, until Shina’s sudden disappearance put a swift halt to production. Arata discovers the startling revelation that Shina Ninomiya was stuck inside of “W.O.D.” the whole time. When Arata delves hurriedly back into the lines of code haunting his forsaken project, he realizes that his game is now ravaged by an infestation of bugs, and that Shina is its only active player.

Arata soon learns that a nefarious force prevents him from extracting Shina out of the game. Her only way out? She must complete the game to unlock the perfect ending—an outcome with a success rate of 1%. On their journey, they encounter a slew of NPC characters that blur perceptions of humanity and A.I.-technology, setting into a motion a thrilling narrative that calls into question the differences between the virtual world and ours.

Little do they know what horrors await them on both sides of the screen…

Idea Factory International has also released new screenshots showcasing World Odyssey. In addition to this, they have also updated the game’s official website with information on the basic system and battle flow of the game. Death end re;Quest is set to launch in North America and Europe early 2019 for PlayStation 4.

Affection is a mechanic that gauges the heroines’ bond with Takt and influence the efficiency of Takt’s Support Ability.

The Affection menu option allows you to check the heroine’s affection toward Takt. You can gauge her current level of affection by judging her facial expression as well as the thickness of the line connecting her to Takt. For every level of affection reached, the heroines will have different things to say when you select them and press square. There are a total of 5 affection levels.

Pairing up with a heroine that has a high affection level will increase Takt’s Support Ability, and the pair’s stat increases will rise even further.

Affection can be increased by viewing character events around the Office or town, by winning battles with Takt paired to a particular Verse Maiden, or by using Takt’s Paired and Group Defense actions to protect the Verse Maidens during battle.

Publisher Compile Heart and developer Sting have announced Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals. It will launch on September 15 in Japan for 8,580 yen. A limited edition will also be available for 10,780 yen.

Details

Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord is a tactics RPG featuring an assortment of characters from the series.

“Dramatic Resonance” can overturn the battle through song. A high-risk, high-return element that can strengthen both sides of the battlefield, it occurs when an ally or enemy songstress sings.

Support Fairy Boost has a high degree of freedom.

There is a treasure hunting element on the world map.

  Compile Heart's Dragon Star Varnir RPG is almost here, with the PS4 release set for June 11 in North America and June 14 in Europe. Idea Factory International shared a new overview trailer to get everyone ready, with a focus on the story, battle system, and other aspects that make this Galapagos RPG unique. 

    Story and features:

  In a world where the bones of an ancient beast tower over the land...

  The Knight Zephy is part of an order whose role is to hunt down witches – people seen as cursed beings for giving birth to dragons.

  When he is almost killed on one of these missions, two mysterious witches save him from the brink of death by feeding him dragon blood.

  Granted new magic abilities by their efforts, he soon finds his fate intertwined with the witches and reluctantly joins them to fight against an Empire out to destroy his kind, ruthless dragon hunters, and a witch more powerful than any in existence.

3 Tiers to Fears – In this unique take on the classic turn-based battle system, players take flight and charge at dragons in three vertically-oriented tiers.
