You were supposed to have a peaceful evening in your room. Everything was sat up with the huge pile of junk food, vanilla scent candles, and trashy reality TV shows. Just pure heaven waiting for you to enjoy until a cockroach gives you hell.

"Aaah!", you scream as you ran into your roomate's room. Your roomate was anything but please to see you burst through his door. "Why are you in my room bothering me?", Gajeel say as he rolls his eyes. You were about to speak, but then felt six tiny legs crawling on your back.

You literally jump into Gajeel's arm, "Please save me!!". It took him a minute to see the little guy bothering you. He grabbed the bug and let it fly out the window. "A harmless bug got you acting like this? Wuss.", he say with annoying tone, yet he is rubbing your back. Gajeel know how much you hate bugs. He never admit it to you, but he would kill any bug for you.

the hardest to convince, you could ask him over and over but he never gives in, he only gives in because you "annoyed him" which obviously ain't true he's just whipped

doesn't even let you pick the color either, he just tosses you the black nail polish because he's aware it's a neutral color

the two of you lounged on some couches on the upstairs area of the guild, his arm was around your shoulder as he talked to the thunder legion. while he talked to them your mind was elsewhere, you glanced at his hand. you remained silent while you stared at it you didn’t even notice how focused you were, you didn’t even notice the thunder legion going downstairs for a quick bite to eat.

you held his hand in yours as the two of you sat side by side on the upstairs level of the guild. you noticed how rough his knuckles looked from all the punches he would through, and small scars littering his hands. your gaze game down to his nails and you gazed down at your own painted nails and you got the best idea.

“you should let me paint your nails.”

with in a heartbeat he responded “no.”

you groaned “come on it’ll be fun and it’ll look cute!”

“no.”

“i think you should let me paint them, they’ll look so nice too! besides your hands could use some tlc” you looked down at his hands and rose a single brow, a manicure was clearly needed for him. even if you couldn’t do anything about the scars the nails would at least spruce them up a little.

“i’m good.” he rolled his eyes at you but made no effort to remove his hand from your grasp.

you stared at him and he sighed feeling your eyes on him “tell me why i should let you paint my nails?”

“because i’m your s/o and you love me and you would do anything for me” you flashed him a grin and he rose a single brow in return “pleaseee.”

he sighed finally giving in, he his free hand down his face knowing he was going to regret his decision “fine.”

you led him out of the guild abiding “knowing” glances from some guildmates. you walked back to your house and gladly led him into your bedroom where you were going to paint his nails. you walked over to him with your box of nail polish clearly excited

“we can try any color you want maybe we could-”

he cuts you off tossing the black nail polish at you, you catch it easily and sigh “you’re so boring, i was hoping we could do a blue or something.”

“the second it chips you’re removing it.”

he’ll only go for black you could talk him into grey to match his metal magic but only if it’s a dark grey

you sat across from where he sat in the guildhall leaning close to him with a grin “i just had the best idea ever, you should let me paint your nails.”

he looked at you annoyed “im still waiting on your ‘best idea ever’.”

you rolled his eyes used to his attitude by now “im serious it would be fun! plusss you’ll look like a rockstar, a real rockin' one with a stage presence.”

he rose a brow "what kind of rockstar wears nail polish?"

"a color-coordinated one. come on don't you wanna look nice for your next performance? if you don't like it we can take it off i promise." you silently begged with your eyes.

he sighed "fine if it gets you to stop your whining."

you cheered and grabbed his hand leading him to where you lived, he got comfortable in your bed while you rummaged around for some nail polish in your bathroom. you debated on shades of black and grey but you ultimately decided to bring all of them so he could have some options.

"okay so i have a few colors here which one are we feeling. maybe this one?" you held up a dark grey nail polish "or maybe this one?" you held up a light grey nail polish resembling the color of iron "or maybe-"

"well do this one" he cut you off and picked up the black nail polish

you took the black nail polish in your hand you couldn't complain much since the color would match his overall vibe, but you can't deny you were hoping to at least use some grey tones to match his iron.

"okay we can do black it'll look cute too." you take his hand in yours and smile at him, you focus intently on his nails. you knew the chances of him letting him do his nails again were low so you made sure to make his nails look perfect for the first and unfortunately the last time you'll be painting them.

he watched as you concentrated on his nails, you took great care in making sure you wouldn't mess up some nails it was honestly cute to him he couldn't help but snicker "you're really putting a lot of focus into some nails doll." he rested his free hand on his cheek and smirked at you.

"well duh, i have to make them look nice who knows when I'll be able to paint your nails again. if this is the first and last time i'm painting your nails they're gonna look cute ya know." you spoke while completely focusing on his nails.

he offered a hum as a response and let you finish working on his nails. once you finished his nails he gave you a kiss as payment.

a few days have passed by since you pained his nails, and once he saw them getting old he immediately walked over to your house and barged in "hey." he walked past you lounging on your couch, ignoring your confused expression, he walked into your bathroom then flopped down onto the couch next to you with nail polish removal and the black nail polish in his hands.

"they're gettin old wanna fix 'em up for me doll?"

the two of you were hanging out at your house, he’s at your house more than yours it was like he lived there at this point. you were lounging on your couch mindlessly talking about everything and anything. you looked down at his hands and a light bulb went off in your head

“you should let me paint your nails, we could make them match your babies too.”

he shrugged "okay let's do it."

you flashed him a smile and gently kissed his lips "I'm gonna get the nail polish i'll be right back." you padded off to your bathroom and went through your nail polish basket, you couldn't decide between purples, greens, and some oranges, although you felt like the orange was a stretch. you shrugged and brought him all the colors you walked back to the couch with various nail polish colors in your arms, and you dumped them on the couch in between the two of you.

"i couldn't decide on one color so i brought multiple! you can pick which one you want though."

he looked down at all the colors you bought and settled on a dark purple "this would match my helmet wouldn't it?" he grins and handed you the purple nail polish.

you took his hand in yours and took care in painting his nails, he watched as you painted his nails his great care "you're really focused there babe."

you snickered "well yeah i don't want your babies making fun of your nails because they're sloppy." he laughed along with you and leaned to gently kissed your forehead.

"i can't focus if you're kissing me bix" you smiled and spoke without taking your eyes off his nails.

he laughed and smiled at you "and what if i don't want you focused?" you looked up at him and sent him a playful glare "do you want your nails to look like a mess or do you want them to look nice?" he leaned in closer to you "whatever gets your attention onto me."

"so needy" you teased while giggling and gave him a soft kiss on the lips "i'm almost done with your nails then I'll be all yours."

he was the one who suggest you even painted his nails when he was playing with your hand and noticed your nail polish and randomly suggested it

he traced along your hands giving them great focus despite his drunken state "let's paint our nails to match it'll wild baby." you giggled at his state "are you sure you want me to paint your nails? you're pretty drunk right now i'd doubt you'd even remember this."

he laughed loudly "do y'a know who you're talking to baby? bein' drunk is my magic." he pulled you off to the stool you were sitting on at the bar and led you home, or he assumed he was the one leading he started wobbling within a few steps so you had to lead him instead.

once you made it to your house you lead him to your bedroom where he could sit on your bed so you could paint his nails "i feel like a nice purple would suit you." you spoke to him from the bathroom raising your voice slightly so he could hear you, he hummed a response.

you hopped onto your bed with the nail polish in hand and took his hand in yours "make em look nice baby i wanna show the guys how wild i am" he emphasized his guilds motto with a small yell and a grin on his face causing you to laugh "hold still so i can do em right."

he grinned at you "come on say it with me baby these nails are gonna be" you playfully rolled your eyes at him but spoke his guilds mantra in unison "wild!"

you laughed and brought your focus back to his nails, while you did his nails he spoke mindlessly. it was becoming obvious that he was just talking so he could stay awake all the drinks he had was catching up to him. once his nails dried he carefully laid down not wanting to ruin your handiwork.

he woke up the next morning with a splitting headache and newly painted nails, he slowly sat up groaning when he noticed you sleeping by his side he froze. you stirred in your sleep and slowly opened your eyes.

he leaned down to kiss your forehead "mornin' baby. did we paint my nails yesterday? i don't remember much after the bar." he squinted in thought "or was it before the bar..."

you giggled "yes i did paint your nails bacchus you asked me to do them."

he looked down at his nails and smirked "they're wild baby."

Hide and Seek

Gajeel Redfox X Reader

(Y/n) lies stretched out on the couch in her boyfriend's home, waiting for the male to get out of the shower so that they could head off to the guild. Though she quickly grew bored and ended up getting off the couch to go wonder the kitchen, that was when she found it. Cling wrap. An idea came to mind, and she quickly searched the drawers under the sink, finding the duct tape she had been searching for. She made her way to the bathroom door; it opened in wards so she knew her plan would work. She covered the upper third of the doorway in the cling wrap, taping it down before taping off the opening of the hallway with it.

The next step was to determine a hiding place, choosing the corner of the living room blocked off by the couches as the best choice. She quickly turned on the hot water of the kitchen sink, then ran over and basically leaped over the couches to duck in this corner with a cover thrown over her. In seconds she heard a loud string of curses as her iron brained boyfriend stumbled out of the shower as the water went ice cold. That was quickly followed by the screams of her name and the bathroom door being thrown open, she assumed he hit the first barrier by the sliding sound and thud.

She tensed when she heard him growl and the pounding of his footsteps before the sound of plastic straining, he hit the wall of cling wrap. (Y/n) could almost swear she could feel his irritation, she burrowed under the pile of pillows that were in the corner. Hoping they would hide her much better than just the cover, the sound of the plastic ripping made her freeze. She placed a hand over her mouth and tried to keep her breathing quiet, the cold air at ground level made her tense to fight the chill but she could feel his footsteps as he began wondering about in search for her. She could hear him perfectly thanks to the small gaps behind and under the couches, so when she heard his deep chuckle, she barely fought back against the squeak caught in her throat.

"You think you can hide from me (Y/n)?... I'm gonna find you and when I do... I'll have to punish you." She held her breath when hearing his footsteps stop close by, she could practically feel his eyes looking over the corner. Though when she heard the couch to her right creek she panicked, leaping up and tossing the cover over Gajeel's head as she bolted. Though she didn't get far, she ended up tripping over one of her shoes and falling flat on her face. It was at that moment Gajeel's booming laughter filled the room; he tossed the balled-up cover into the corner before walking over towards her. "You okay down there munchkin? You hit pretty hard." He chuckled and watched the girl sit up, pouting as she puffed up her cheeks and looked up at him. "It's not funny... I thought I was free." Gajeel crouched in front of her, filling her with confusion as she tilted her head. At least until he leaned down and kissed her gently, before she could react, he straightened up and began to leave the room. (Y/n) quickly stood, chasing after him blushing cheeks and all. "H-hey Gajeel! Wait up!"

just a lil drabble while im sick :) natsu was my first ever anime crush and ive been feeling so nostalgic about him <3

late night cuddle.

you tried not to make it obvious, but it was getting harder by the second.

just why the hell was it so cold?

it had been like that for the entirety of the mission but bearable in the midst of everything. natsu and gray's bickering, coupled with light chattering with lucy and erza had been enough to keep your mind off of it on the trip here, and then once you were in the thick of it, it was pretty easy to ignore too. fighting, after all, built up quite the sweat.

but now? with no sun and just the dark, lonely sky, and a sleeping bag that was as thin as the shirt you were wearing it? it was so much more harder to ignore now.

a glance over your shoulder to your teammates tells you they're pretty much all asleep themselves, except for natsu who'd elected to keep first watch. happy had first volunteered to join him, but twenty minutes in you'd heard natsu chuckle affectionately and send him off to bed too.

so, that left just him and then the rest of your teammates peacefully asleep.

your eyes flicker to lucy next to you; you could ask her if she wanted to share a blanket and sleep close for warmth. you knew the girl never really wore the most appropriate clothing so she wouldn't mind and it wasn't like it was your first time ever having to share a sleeping bag before.

but.... but she looked so peaceful. her eyes shut and her lips parted just slightly as her chest rose and fell with soft breathes and you remember how she'd gotten hit partically hard earlier in the fight. the large bandaged bruise on her cheek a swift reminder and you didn't want to wake her up especially when rest was probably the best thing for her.

not to mention, wendy was off with gajeel and levy for a mission so she didn't have wendy's soothing healing magic to ease any of the pain.

yeah. no. you definitely were not disturbing her.

you glance to your other teammates. you loved gray, but he definitely wouldn't warm you up—if anything, he'd probably just make you more cold. erza wasn't an option either. you'd made that mistake once before and your head still hurt from being slammed against her armour (which she wore to bed, of course) and then kept against it for the entirety of the night.

happy was nice to cuddle with but he wouldn't keep you all that warm.

finally, your eyes flicker back to natsu. his back is turned to you and he's sitting crossed-legged by the edge of the camp, completely in his own world. he'd be warm, the warmest out of everyone, given him being a fire dragon slayer. but... the thought of... of asking him to warm you up brought an instant flush to your cheeks, embarrassment coursing through your entire veins and that idea gets reected instantly in fear of your feeligns.

so, relectantly, you're turning back around, letting your head fall against your thin pillow again.

you shut your eyes, forcing them shut and pull your knees to your chest, holding your blanket tight against you, praying that even just a bit of warmth will allow you to fall asleep.

a cold burst of wind has you shivering a second later and your teeth practically chitter against one another and you give up on sleep all together then.

with your blanket still wrapped around your shoulders, you make your way to where natsu's sat, sitting an appropriate distance from him.

"y/n?"

natsu's voice is soft, an odd tone you've never really heard on him before as his head tilts to face you, confusion written across his face.

"what're you doing up?"

"couldn't sleep," is all you offer in explanation, pulling your blanket closer around you. sending him a soft smile, you gesture behind you. "you can head to bed if you want. i can keep watch."

for a split second, he looks like he's gonna agree, the exhaustion clear on his face as he moves to thank you. then, wind brushes through the camp once again that has your hair swishing and your shoulders pulling in, a hiss leaving your lips as you try to fight through the bitting wind. natsu halts to a stop.

"why couldn't you sleep?"

you barely realize natsu's asked you a question until suddenly his face is right in front of you, concerned.

"o-oh!" you let out, startled, leaning back and using your hand to catch yourself. regrettably though, just the mere presence of natsu so close already makes you feel warmer. "it's no biggie!" you laugh off lightly, despite how good he feels so close. "i was just a little cold so i thought—"

whatever you're about to say gets promptly cut off the second you're being pulled flush against a firm chest. it all happens in a second. it's like you blink and suddenly you're being lifted off the ground and into a lap where a pair of arms wrap snuggly around your waist and you're completely surrounded by warmth.

"n-natsu!"

"here," natsu whispers, gruffly and it nearly sends you into a heart attack. "i'll keep you warm."

you blink, turning back to see him grinning brightly down at you. that same toothy grin natsu always has and the same one that always sends flutters through your stomach and has your heart racing madly against your chest.

you can barely stand it in general and even less when it's directed solely at you.

"oh," you manage to force out. "you—you don't have to, natsu!" you wingle in his grasp, trying to scoot off of his lap, but natsu's grip stays tight around you. "i meant what i said. you should get some rest and—"

"y/n?"

"...yeah?"

natsu's grin fades but only to turn into something softer. a warm, gentle grin falls on his face as he shakes his head. "you're practically shaking. you even feel cold, and that's a lot coming from me." you frown, just then realizing how cold you really had been. "it's fine. i offered to keep watch in the first place and besides? who better than me to keep you warm, right?"

there's a possessive edge to his tone that you don't quite catch.

the way he says it so nonchalantly has you absolutely reeling. so much that all you can manage in response is a weak hum and a nod as you turn back ahead of yourself, slowly and cautiously letting your back fall against natsu's chest.

"comfortable?"

you can feel his chest rumble as he speaks.

"y-yeah," you nod, letting yourself sink into his touch more, unable to deny how warm he is. a good warm. a really good warm. you can already feel the exhaustion you'd been feeling all day catching up to you as your eyelids grow heavy.

"thank you, natsu."

you say it just as your eyes fall shut, unaware of the warm smile natsu glances at you down with as you fall asleep in his arms and in his lap.

"no problem, y/n/n."

"damn, natsu, i didn't think you had it in you."

"shut it, droopy eyes."

"hey—!"

"seriously, though, natsu. i... i certainly wasn't expecting to wake up to this."

you snap awake, bolting out of natsu's arms who pulls back in surprise at your sudden movement. it takes you a second, blinking the sleep out of your eyes, before your gaze shifts from natsu who's smiling at you, with a faint pink to his cheeks, to the rest of your teammates stood in front of you.

gray looks smug, sending you a smirk as you turn bright red. erza looks utterly confused, her eyes snapping between you and natsu. happy is barely able to contain his laughter. and lucy's looking at you like you've grown a second head.

it occurs to you that you should say something.

turning to them, you raise your hand; "it isn't what you think."

Lazy Kisses

Some of your favorite kisses from Rogue are those first thing in the morning ones that he gives while he’s still somewhat drowsy. He’s so pliant and gentle when he kisses you in general, but first thing in the morning he’s like a big teddy bear.

Usually, if he wakes before you due to the rising sun peeking through the curtains, Rogue will usually stir, and feel around the bed to make sure you’re close. You usually are already pressed against his chest, but if you happen to have moved during the night, you’ll either roll back over or Rogue pulls you to him. He’s especially clinging in the morning.

He’ll press fluttering kisses against your jaw and cheek on the search for your lips. You’ll nuzzle up against his neck, your legs intertwining with his and the messy sheets. Rogue drapes his arm around your waist and inhales your scent continently. If you guys don’t have a job to take, you’ll fall back asleep for a while before getting up to start the day

Sting is very passionate when he kisses you. He can be quite impatient at times, but overall is very gentle. Especially after you two have sex. You both will be hot and sweaty, tangled in each others arms and he’ll kiss your lips long and slow, savoring your taste.

If you or him are separated for a while due to work, expect him to be all over you when you reunite. He grabs on to your chin, pulling you close as he groans into your mouth when your lips meet. Your hands find the front of his clothes, having to hold on to them tightly because Natsu will quite literally leave you breathless.

Natsu’s the type to never want to let you go. He always kisses you as if it’s his last time, so they’re always filled with such love and emotion. Sometimes, you have to remind him that you need to breathe.

Gajeel definitely likes to tease you. He’ll pull away just out of reach so that you can’t reach his lips to kiss him if you’re shorter than him or turn his face at the last second to mess with you. He likes to catch you by surprise, kissing you when you least expect it.

When he does kiss you, he’s fast, rough but still sweet. His kisses don’t tend to last long. Instead, he pecks your lips multiple times, leaving you breathless and flustered. In between kisses he grins, and you realize he’s messing with you again which makes you laugh.

He can be passionate when he wants to, pulling you in by your waist and capturing your lips gently. Either way, he always manages to leave you breathless and gasping for more.

Comforting Kisses

Gray has been through a lot and often leans on you for support when he has his tough days. You can usually tell when he gets in his head as he’s more moody. Even if words aren’t exchanged your comforting touch and gentle kiss against his lips soothe the aching feeling of guilt in his heart.

The same goes for you when you’re having a bad day for whatever reason. If you’re crying, he kisses away your tears, all while whispering soft reassurances in your ear. He’ll take your hands into his, caressing your knuckles with his thumb before too giving them a gentle kiss.

The moment you two had stepped into the guild, Natsu had stuck to you like glue—literally hovering over your shoulder, making comments whenever anyone so much as glanced your way.

“Oi, Gajeel! What do you think you’re lookin’ at?” Natsu growled when the Iron Dragon Slayer walked by, offering you nothing more than a passing nod of acknowledgment.

“Relax, Flame Brain,” Gajeel grumbled, not even bothering to look back as he made his way to the bar. “Ain’t nobody interested in your girl.”

Your cheeks flamed at that. Your girl? Gajeel’s words stuck with you, even though you knew that wasn’t how Natsu saw you. At least, you thought he didn’t. He was just being… well, Natsu—fiercely protective over his friends. You knew that much about him.

Still, today felt different. Like maybe he was going a little overboard.

“U-Um, Natsu, it’s okay,” you whispered, trying to wave off his aggression with a nervous smile. “Gajeel wasn’t even—”

“Wasn’t what?” Natsu interrupted, turning to you with a serious expression. “He was lookin’ at you funny. You think I’m gonna let that slide?”

You sighed, feeling the familiar weight of eyes from across the guild hall. You could practically hear the others whispering amongst themselves, and it only made your face heat up more. Why was Natsu acting like this in front of everyone?

You loved him—liked him, you corrected yourself quickly—but this was just embarrassing. The last thing you needed was for the whole guild to think you were helpless and needed a dragon slayer to fight your battles for you.

“Lucy, help me out here,” you pleaded under your breath, shooting a desperate glance at the celestial mage sitting nearby. Lucy gave you a sympathetic smile, but she clearly wasn’t going to interfere. She probably thought it was cute.

Well, you didn’t.

“Oi, Gray, keep your shirt on and your eyes off her,” Natsu barked, his eyes flashing as Gray walked in your direction, hands in his pockets.

“I wasn’t even—” Gray began, but Natsu cut him off with a huff, stepping between the two of you.

“Yeah, well, you better not be,” Natsu snapped, crossing his arms over his chest.

You groaned, burying your face in your hands. “Natsu, please,” you whispered, “you’re embarrassing me.”

Natsu blinked at you, his sharp gaze softening slightly. “What? Why?”

“Because…” you trailed off, biting your lip. How were you supposed to explain that everyone was staring, that your crush on him was already making it hard to breathe, and now he was drawing even more attention to the both of you?

Natsu frowned, his expression genuinely confused. “I’m just lookin’ out for you, (Y/N). You know I don’t want anyone messin’ with you.”

“I know that,” you mumbled, staring at the floor. “But you don’t have to scare off everyone. They’re just our friends.”

He scratched his head, looking utterly clueless. “But I don’t want any of ‘em getting ideas. You’re too important to me for that.”

Your heart did a little flip at his words, and you glanced up at him, eyes wide. “I… I am?”

“‘Course you are,” Natsu said, like it was the most obvious thing in the world. His gaze softened again, a warm grin tugging at the corners of his mouth. “Why else d’you think I’d be so protective? You’re… special.”

Your breath caught in your throat. There it was again—another hint that maybe he didn’t just see you as a friend. Maybe all this overprotectiveness wasn’t just about keeping you safe; maybe it was because he cared about you in a different way.

But you still weren’t sure, and the uncertainty gnawed at you. “Natsu,” you began cautiously, “are you being overprotective because… you like me?”

He stared at you for a moment, and you could almost see the gears turning in his head as he processed the question. Then, a slow, sheepish grin spread across his face. “I… yeah, I guess I am.”

Your heart skipped a beat. “R-Really?”

“Yeah,” he repeated, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly. “I didn’t realize it at first, but I think… I’ve always liked you, (Y/N). I just didn’t know how to say it.”

You blinked at him in disbelief. Natsu Dragneel, the guy you had been crushing on for ages, liked you back?

Before you could respond, Natsu took a step closer, his expression serious but warm. “I don’t want anyone else even thinkin’ about you that way, y’know? You’re mine.”

His words sent a shiver down your spine, and you felt your face heat up all over again. “I… I’ve liked you for a while too, Natsu,” you admitted shyly, your voice barely above a whisper.

Natsu’s eyes lit up, and his grin widened. “You do?”

You nodded, feeling a smile tug at your lips despite your embarrassment. “Yeah.”

Natsu’s expression softened, and before you could react, he wrapped his arms around you in a tight, warm hug, pulling you against his chest. “That’s awesome, (Y/N),” he murmured into your hair. “I’m so glad.”

You laughed softly, your heart swelling with happiness as you hugged him back. “Me too.”

“Guess that means we’re dating now, huh?” Natsu said, pulling back just enough to look you in the eyes, his grin as wide as ever.

You blushed, but nodded. “I guess it does.”

Natsu’s smile turned even softer, and he leaned in, pressing a quick, warm kiss to your forehead. “Good. ‘Cause I’m not letting anyone else get close to you from now on.”

You couldn’t help but laugh at that, feeling lighter than you had in days. “You’re still overprotective.”

“Damn right I am,” Natsu said proudly. “But now I’ve got a reason.”

Natsu: I can see Natsu being confused at first over why you were upset over your friend meeting other poeple. He’d brush it off as well saying something like “Well, why not be friends with them too?” It wouldn’t be until after Lucy smacks some sense into him that he realizes the truth about why you’re upset. He and Happy would go try and find something they know you really like so they could bring a smile on your face. If books are your thing, he’d ask Levy to find the rarest book she could in order to gift it to you.

Gray: Gray is less oblivious than Natsu and I can totally see him trying to figure out a way to cheer you up, but feeling incredibly awkward about it. He’d eventually murmur “I’m sorry to hear about your friend. You can do better than them, though. You have us” and take you for some ice cream.

Lucy: Out of team Natsu, she is the most caring. She’d be the one to give you a big hug and tell you that your family in the guild will always be there for you. Lucy also wouldn’t let you mope around alone, either. She’d take you to her apartment and make dinner for you. Her, Natsu, Happy and you would also play card games to get your mind off of everything.

Erza: Erza would try to tell you that everything is okay, but she’d probably accidentally say it way too bluntly, inadvertantly upsetting you. “Why are you so upset over someone who clearly doesn’t care about you?” And then have to find a way to make it up to you, most likely in the form of sweets. She isn’t heartless, and apologizes for coming off as brash.

Wendy: She would 100% cry with you. While she may not have much advice on this situation, Wendy would be the one there for you to hug and cry with.

Laxus: Laxus is another one who is pretty blunt when it comes to giving advice. He’d tell you the same thing Erza did, but wouldn’t apologize. He’d shrug and say “you can either be upset that they’re bailin’ on you, or you could spend time here with people who actually care for ya.”

Gajeel: Gajeel would sing you a song and play guitar. He thinks he is doing a great job of cheering you up, but in reality your poor ears hurt and you smile because the gesture is sweet. He’d also ask if you wanted to go for a walk to get some air.

Sting: Sting would pepper you in compliments to cheer you up. Did you make food today? “Wow angel, you’re the best cook ever!” “Hey, thanks for picking that item up. You’re the best.” Anything you could do, he’d find a way to compliment you for it. When you finally confront him over the constant compliments, he’d shrug and tell you “you looked real sad, so I figured I’d tell ya that you’re appreciated with everything you do.”

Why did he have to be so stubborn? It would have been much smarter to let one of the others compete.. But no that dumb ass with the adorable smile had to go up against Fairy Tails Natsu Dragneel and Gajeel Redfox. You understood that he wants to beat Natsu, the one he looked up to for years.. But did it really have to be in a race on moving carts?! Jiemma was so mad, Sting and the whole team couldn't allow themselves another slip up, or the whole guild would feel his rage.

“Sting it's me, I'm coming in.” Entering his room in the inn the guild was staying at, he was laying on his side, clutching his stomach. Beside his bed a little bucket just in case. Well at least it was good to know Sting and Rogue weren't the only Dragon Slayer with this issue. “Lectors out with Rogue and Frosch, they'll pick up some soup for you.” Upon the mentioning of food, the blonde poorly clutched his mouth, letting out a low groan, warning to not mention food again.

Setting the bowl of water you were carrying onto the nightstand, you take a seat at his side. Stings eyes averted. Of course. Ashamed is what he felt when he stood in front of Jiemma, of front of the whole guild.. And he still feels like this. Taking the rug from the water, you carefully wring out the excess water, before rubbing it softly over his face. A content sigh could be heard, as Sting turns onto his back, so you had better acess to his face. Poor boy, he looked completely out of it.

“Feeling better a bit?” Looking at him now, he nods. Eyes closed. For once he had a soft look on his face, no scowl, no sadistic smirk. Deep down he was a hurt little boy wanting to prove himself to whoever. It's sad what this guild made out of him.

“Sting! You're awake!” A cry could be heard, as the little red exceed jumped onto the bed, followed by Rogue and Frosch. “You should really think a little more before jumping straight into the games.” Rogue had a little annoyed look on his face, as he sets the bag with the soup on the table, the green cat letting out a little – Fro thinks so too. The two exceed seriously were the most adorable little beings ever. “Sorry you had to take care of him for being careless.” Words now directed to you, making you let out a little laugh. “Oh it's fine, at least I get to spend some time with my favorite Dragon Slayer.” Ruffling Stings hair now slightly, Lector letting out a surprised scream – at how someone could just touch Sting like that. The later now wearing his usual scowl on his face, with a little twist – he was blushing madly, averting his gaze to the other side and away from you.

Now that Sting was finally feeling better, it was time for the battles of the day. Following them back to the arena, Lector comfortably in your arms. Even if he didn't want to admit it, Lector liked you a lot. The battles were interesting to say the least, especially Mirajane against Jenny. What a show truly. So lastly now Yukino. Of course you were cheering for the white haired stellar magician. You two were quit close. Just like you were with Sting and Rogue. But at the end, she fell. Laying on her back and staring at the sky, tears streaming down her soft features. This was bad. Jiemma will not like this.

The evening and night to come.. were definitely something no one would have expected to happen.

It’s her 2nd anniversary with her boyfriend. The dragon slayer. When Lucy finished changing she walked out the bathroom, trying to contain the exhilaration. You were single, that made her feel like she had to be cautious around you. Talking about her relationship with you did bother you profoundly only sometimes. You do understand that when you get bothered it’s immature however you can’t help it and what’s even idiotic of you is that you don’t realize why.

“ I’ll be on my way. I’ll keep you updated! farewell!” she said leaving. You left her apartment through the window. Somehow everything was too much.

When you reached the guild you sat down looking down at the paper that was slammed on the table by Gray. “I need you to be my partner. We need to leave as soon as possible.” he begged. You stared at him fairly. By your peripheral vision you saw Juvia with her face expressing anger. Her love towards Gray was questionable however it was real. “You appear like you need time away. Why not accompany me on this mission?” he enquired. You nodded, stood up and left with Gray.

As you took the train out of town it was quiet. You were always the one to be expressive and encourage others to be social. This time it was Gray initiating the conversation. “ Are you excited? Our destination is stunning. It’s a huge beach resort. There’s a casino and we get to stay for a week. Let’s accomplish our job so we have time for fun.” he said smiling. You nodded and stared out the window. He wasn’t the one to comfort someone because he didn’t know how. “You’re down in the dumps right now. What’s troubling you. Come at me.” he remarked. You were crying in silence. He instantly knew to be sensitive. “I-It’s just…Lucy and Natsu…Juvia..even Bisca and Alzack. I-It’s so fucking ludicrous.” you cried and let out a laugh. Gray understood what you meant. He felt the same way. “You finally figured out what it is you’re feeling huh?” he started frowning along with you. “ It’s crazy how I would get on my knees and pray to get the answer on how I felt,” you said. He listened to you. You continued, “ Now that I know it’s still painful.” What you wanted was love. Companionship. Someone who truly loves you. “Yeah...I understand. It almost feels like a knife stabbed your heart profoundly.” he replied. Gray has never been so forthright about his emotions. His opening up to you about his feelings speaks volumes about how much he trusts you. You thought perhaps this is the small chance the universe is giving you regardless of how Juvia might feel. “You know…I’ve always wanted to try us,” he revealed. You looked at him. “I know we both don’t want so much riches nor perplexed relationships. We both want someone to have love and company with. We want a long run. Let’s start y/n. Make our own future. Not allow anyone or anything to stop us. Allow us to happen.” he said, reaching out and holding your hands. He was getting apprehensive. “ O-Okay. Yes, I’ll be with you.” you smiled. Life will be luminous, exhilarating, cherished, and bustling with love even with bumps along the way.

You and Gray decided to keep your relationship on the low. You both didn’t want to cause chaos. The guild members started picking up on minor changes in behavior. Both of you would take more jobs together. You show up with Gray every morning and would leave together. Whenever you guys were invited for whatever meal of the day, sometimes Gray would reject the invitation because, “Y/n made us food, Thanks anyways.” Word finally got out when Gray decided to kiss you in front of Gajeel and Freed. His woman paired with two men on a job. Especially those two that were definitely not to his liking. He knew Gajeel recently got interested and Freed is always flirting with you which is shocking because he never shuts up about missing Laxus. “Stay safe, my snowflake.I love you.” he said smiling. Your cheeks blushed up. Gajeel and Freed were shocked. Natsu caught a glimpse and blabbed his mouth. “ I love you as well.” you replied. He took off his necklace and put it on you. “We have to go now. Bye lover boy.” Freed said and with that you left.

“Since when have you and y/n dated?!” Natsu questioned. Gray turned around, his face displayed happiness and love. “Come on spill!” Erza ordered. Deep down she loves gossip. “We’ve been dating for a while. I love her. God I’m in love with her.” he responded. “Gray, what’s a while?” Lucy asked. Natsu shook him back and forth. “Mhm, almost a year. I wonder if she would say yes if I asked her to marry me. Tie the knot you know.” he questioned walking outside. “ I mean how far have you guys gone?” Erza asked, following him outside with the others. “ We moved in together in 2 months. We agree on waiting till marriage so don’t ask freaky questions.” Gray expressed entering a store that sells jewelry. “ Welcome young ones. What can I assist you with?” the old man wondered. “Engagement ring,” Gray replied looking at what was displayed. A little girl ran up to the counter getting on the stepping stool and quickly grabbed Gray’s hands looking at palms. “ Yes sir! Oh, she loves you so much. Mhm, there's a very strong connection. 3 babies, maybe 4.” She read his future. Adorable. “Oh Lilly leave this man alone. Sorry about that.” the old man apologized. Gray smiled. “Thank you for telling me. Now do you know if they’re boys or girls?” Gray asked to play along with the girl at least that’s what he thought it was. A game. Play pretend. She took his hands again and looked. She was very focused. Little hums would leave her. “Oh my! You’ll have an only daughter! Good luck sir!” she giggled. A lady showed up ruffling her hair. “ I’m sorry sir but we actually ran out of rings. The only ones we have are the ones on displays which we don’t sell.” she apologized then continued. “If what my daughter said is true then you should keep searching for the perfect ring.”

Gray nodded, waved bye and left with the gang. “If I have to leave Magnolia to buy her the perfect ring I will.” Gray thought to him.

The following day he left with Erza and Lucy. They’re girls and girls give good advice.

He was gone for a week and so were you. Little did he know that you had finished your job within a day. The rest of those days it was an engagement shopping adventure. Gajeel and Freed were so fed up with the number of stores that were entered and how you wouldn’t shut up about your snowman.

When you guys found the perfect rings both of you kept them safe and sound. “Hey, I made a reservation at a fancy restaurant downtown. Get dressed. We deserve a break.” he ordered. It took you guys about an hour to get ready and when you were at the restaurant it took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Right before the dessert arrived. He got down on one in front of you. “Y/n. I know you’re the woman for me. You make me feel loved and special. You’re my everything. It’s you I need. I want forever with you. Won’t you make me the happiest man by marrying me?” he asked, taking out the ring. Everyone around you both were looking at the most beautiful moment. Tears slipped. “Oh Gray…” you said, reaching into your bag. He had a confused look on his face. You reveal the box with a ring to him. He chuckled. “I’m guessing that’s a yes?” he asked. You sniffled. “Yes, my snowman.” you responded feeling the profound love he has for you. The rings were placed on each other's fingers. Erza was hiding and filmed the entire thing. The crowd of people clapped as you shared a kiss with the man you fell in love with. Thank god you grasped that small chance the universe decided to grant you.

Once engagement date night was finished you got home and had a nice shower with Gray. Very warm and relaxing. “H-Hey can you scrub yourself this time…otherwise well have premarital sex.” He was asking but more like ordering you. “Yes I agree as well.”

That night was sweet. Both of you won’t ever forget and will always cherish that moment.

the two of you were caught in an intense battle with foes all around, in your eyes the battle was one big royale it was just you and gajeel but against an army.

slowly the two of you were caught dead center of the army, the two of you were standing back to back as they had the two of you cornered all around. at this point you were feeling exhausted, you were covered in scratches and wounds while gajeel was covered in dry blood with only one more roar left in him.

“hey y/n you got any more of that yummy metal?”

"Hey! Happy, Natsu!" Your voice springing off the buildings. His sakura pink hair fluttering in the air. Scarf dazzling off the summer breeze. You slide to a stop while he does the same. He gives you a smile as you do the same on the street.

"I win!" We all say in unison.

"Just do it allready" Happy whispers to Natsu. Happy flew off and Natsu's head flys through my wall.

"Natsu! Stop firstly! I won fair and square best friend." Looking smug.

"Why do you always win (n)?" Natsu asks outloud.

"Funny you should ask, I wait until five minutes before then listen to the door and I win." He looks at you quizzically cocking his head to the side. He leans in closer and sniffs the air but is simingingly confused.

"Ahh! Did I forget my deodorant?" Rambling on he cuts me off steps back and opens his eyes.

"No it's not that it's just, your smell, you smell like sakura blossoms but it's never been this strong before though.

"Hey isnt it like really close to mating season?." You say calmly as Natsu is trying to fix the wall.

"Uh yea it is, but I doubt I'll find a mate ..." He blushes but hides his face with his scarf and continues on the wall. After a solid minute,

"Um do you want to come in?" You ask quizzically. He looks at you and nods three times removing his scarf and rejusts his scarf.

"Let's look for a good quest!" After about five minutes of searching the board you feel a hand on your shoulder and you dissapear along with it. After about ten minutes later you notice Natsu is looking for you.

"You know my main goal is to have a mate Natsu and why have you been asking all this, all day?" You ramble on until Natsu holds your hands which were shaking.

“It’s so hot…” the male groaned from the opposite end of the boat.

“Thanks, Captain Obvious,” glowered a nauseous Gajeel, head hanging off the side of the ship. Near to your sitting place, another Dragon Slayer seemed to have it just as bad, if not even worse.

“You think Wendy would use that Troia spell on me this time around?” Natsu groggily questioned aloud.

With his tousled salmon hair and permanent pout on his face, Natsu would have looked incredibly cute - if not for the excessive amount of times he had leaned over the boat to hurl. Everyone was very much aware of the boy’s hatred of vehicular transportation, especially yourself. Being one of his closest friends caused you to be quite knowledgeable of his motion sickness when you would go on jobs together. It had been a while since you’d seen it up close, though, since you were out working by yourself for a few months.

“She’s technically your enemy, though,” a lounging Loke pointed out to Natsu, referring to the trials about to take place.

“Sorry Natsu,” Wendy agreed sadly. “Hang in there.”

“That’s – okay,” the Fire Dragon Slayer gagged.

A pang of guilt shot through you at the poor boy’s state. Would it be wrong of you to try to comfort him, seeing as he was a trial contender?

When Natsu whined out with one of the most adorably pitiful noises you’d ever heard, you decided that you might as well offer him some company. The trial hadn’t started yet, after all.

“Hey, Natsu,” you spoke up, trying not to make any jolting movements that might shift the boat around more. He stared up at your concerned face with a pained expression.

Natsu drew out your nickname with a tone pleading for help. “Please help me out here.”

A fiery blush arose on your face. The Dragon Slayer knew that you always melted for him when he used that old name. Damn him for knowing that weakness.

“How do I do that?” you asked, slowly sitting down behind Natsu’s head. He was taking up the whole edge on one side of the ship, and you didn’t want to block the middle deck.

“I don’t know,” he whimpered.

“Well,” an idea came to mind as you spoke, “a woman I encountered during my last quest did something when I was dazed, but I’m not sure if it will work for you.”

“Try it, please, literally anything to get me out of this hell.”

You shifted forward from where you sat and gingerly lifted Natsu’s head into your lap. He stared up at your face with curiosity in his onyx eyes, and you gestured for his hands, which he lifted up in compliance.

You placed your index, middle, and ring finger of your right hand on the inside of one of his wrists and applied light pressure for about five seconds, switching over to his other hand before looking down at the pink haired mage for a response.

“Did it work at all?” you inquired softly.

“Yeah, actually. It’s not as bad now,” he sighed, body relaxing slightly.

“Good. I think you can try focusing on a fixed point somewhere on the horizon, or you could try closing your eyes if that helps instead.”

Natsu’s eyes fluttered closed and you couldn’t hold back your smile. There was that cute face, his relaxed features and easier breaths softening his expression.

“Why does the flame baby get special treatment when I’m over here dying?” Gajeel cried as he hung over the boat’s edge.

“I thought you said you didn’t have motion sickness, Gajeel,” you recalled. “If you do, though, just tell me and I can certainly help you out as well.”

The Iron Dragon Slayer grouched. “Nevermind.”

You sat on the deck and continued to hold Natsu’s head, occasionally repeating the same routine of applying pressure to his wrists whenever he started to tense up in discomfort. After some time of just listening to the gentle waves of the ocean, he opened one of his eyes to gaze up at you.

“Thanks for the help,” he offered a small grin, sharp canines just barely poking out.

You smiled back, gently patting the boy’s head. “It’s no problem.”

The pink strands of hair under your fingers were undeniably soft, just how they always looked to you - even in the most action packed of situations. Without really thinking of it, your hands started to weave gently through Natsu’s hair. “Heck yes; I want your hands in my hair for the rest of eternity.”

Your movements stilled for a moment, wanting to engrain that sentence in your mind as quickly as humanly possible. It would be a flat out lie if you said that you weren’t attracted to Natsu, so his words poked at your stomach and prompted it to flutter in all sorts of ways. The oblivious idiot didn’t appear to notice your embarrassingly flustered state, though, simply nuzzling his head further into your lap.

And honestly, that was completely okay with you at the moment.

“Did you happen to bring any mints?” Natsu inquired as you continued playing with his hair. It was pretty common of you to bring along some when you went on jobs with the Dragon Slayer, just to help freshen his breath if he got sick - which was quite often. You rummaged around in the bag that was slung across your shoulders with one hand, checking to see if you had left any in there before leaving the guild. Your hand brushed against a small metal container, pulling it out triumphantly. “You’re in luck, flame brain.”

Natsu sat up slowly to take a mint from you, popping it into his mouth as you ruffled his hair fondly. “Better?”

He nodded a bit. “Yeah, but I think I need one more thing.”

“I don’t know if I’ll have anything to help, but what would that thing be?”

Suddenly, Natsu looked over to the other side of the ship and pointed out into the ocean, catching everyone’s attention.

“Hey, is that Tenrou Island right there?” he called out, which caused everyone to shift over to search the horizon. You also turned your head in the direction to which he gestured, but didn’t make any movement to stand.

“I can’t even see anything, are you sure-?”

Before you could finish your sentence, Natsu had pressed a soft kiss to your cheek and instantly shut you up. You brought your face back to him, who shamelessly grinned at your shocked expression. “Now I’m good to go,” he quipped.

You just stared at him for a moment, completely unsure of what just happened, but as soon as you recovered you instantly grabbed him by his scarf and crashed your lips together. The unusual taste of mint mixed with a scent like smoky firewood was oddly intoxicating as the Fire Dragon Slayer kissed you back with a feverish intensity.

The moment was quickly gone after you urgently pushed him away, noticing Lucy turning back around with a slight frown pulling at her lips.

“Natsu, there’s absolutely nothing over there,” she whined, throwing her hands up in tired aggravation. “You gave me hope that we’d finally be able to get off this thing.”

“Oh my bad, I thought for sure I saw something,” he shrugged nonchalantly, laying back down and settling easily into your lap once more. The smug glint dancing across his eyes made your nerves go haywire, but you didn’t move a muscle until everyone’s attention returned to the unbearable heat radiating onto the ocean’s surface.

“Just because that just happened,” you murmured softly under your breath, “it doesn’t mean I’m going easy on you if I see you on Tenrou.”

He simply flashed a kiddish grin in response. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
